João and his team are amazing. We stayed close to here when we were in Lisbon and they drew us in with their beautiful window displays and we made sure to stop by when we read about them online. Their stock shoes are beautiful and well-made, but if they don't have your size or preferred style in stock, they can make it for you and turn it around quickly. Sapataria do Carmo provides exceptional service and a quality product at a good value. Both my husband (with a size 48) and I (size 37) were able to walk away with shoes and he ordered more to be shipped to the States. All pairs have gotten softer and more beautiful as they've been worn and we love them. FIVE STARS!

It's almost Christmas time, nevertheless the staff at Sapataria do Carmo managed to have a pair of their fantastic shoes, ordered in their website, delivered in Italy in two days! This is service! But here the full story: in the spring of 2017 we made a weekly trip to Lisboa, there, by pure chance, we passed in front of their lovely shop in Plaza do Carmo, and I (the man and shoe buff) was pleasingly surprised by the variety of ladies shoes on display - I mean a variety of hand sewn, tasty, lady shoes, you Must understand this is Rare! - so I insisted with my fiancee that she should try them on, to check size and if their last was suitable for her, even if at the time we could not buy anything. The girl at the shop was super kind, even knowing we were not buying right away, and competent (anotehr rare thing) and we could appreciate the styles, the leathers and manufacturnig. Finally, almost two yeasr later we got a pair, and we are both extremely satisfied. We truly recommend this shop!

Bought a pair of their woven oxfords in September. There was a glitch with the leather and they completely remedied the situation within a few days. The quality of shoes are top notch, and very well priced! Do not hesitate to get a pair from them!!!

When you want only the best custom, completely hand made in Portugal leather shoes, look no farther than Sapataria da Carmo. The small shop has a large selection of men’s and women’s shoes and boots and the prices are good for the lasting quality and custom fit. The shop is in the Chiado área of Lisbon and is open from 10 am until 8 pm.

EUR210-260 per pair. Note that they expanded to have a store next door, that one sells other brands of shoes.

This is the store to buy shoes! Gorgeous styles, hand made in Portugal. I visit the store every trip to Lisbon and have purchased 3 pairs of shoes to date. They are by the best quality, comfortable and most beautiful shoes I own. And João and Alexandra are very helpful. Shipping fees to the states very reasonable, shoes arrive in 2 or 3 days via DHL. I look forward to the next visit.
