Definitely recommend this place for surfboard rentals! The staff is super friendly and will always help you with reading the forecast and suggesting the best beach for surfing that day. Also, you can easily message them if you want to change your board to a different one and they’ll hold it for you. Outstanding service, cannot recommend enough!

An amazing place to get a lesson or rent a board! The whole team at The Magic Board Center are great, you won't meet friendlier or more passion people in Lagos! I've had a few lessons in the past and this was by far the best and it really helps having instructor who love their job and want to help you. Depending on your level they break everyone into groups to make sure you get the most from you lesson. On the second day we just rented boards and the whole processes was quick and easy. All their boards are in great condition and well looked after. They'll also advise you on the best spots to surf on the day.

Highly recommended this shop to rent boards! The staff were really helpful and friendly, they have a huge range of really nice boards, and at a good price, comes with board bag, leash and fins, and if you don't get along with the board you can simply swap it for another, a really good service. I Checked all the other hire places out in Lagos and this is by far the best one.

Really pleasant people... took the time to match what i ride back home with the local breaks and then suggest a board to suit. Absolutely nailed the selection. Pragmatic rental scheme (you break it you buy it, repair shop prices for other damage) softracks included in the price. ID as a deposit (only you can decide whether you're comfy with that). overall would highly rate and will definitely use again. Recommended.

Awesome spot to rent a board and wetsuit. Great selection/prices, and very friendly staff helped pick out the right one. 15 - 25 euros / day + 5 for the wetsuit , depending on the type of board. Will come back here if I’m ever in the area again! Pura Vida!

We were looking for a surf school and as we passed the shop we saw a guy cleaning / repairing a board in front of the shop and we immediately knew that this is the place to go. Rick was very patient and friendly. We only had time on the next day for our surf trip and unfortunately, Rick had no more free slot for us this day. But Rick called his backup guy and was able to arrange a lesson for us. He explained us everything and at the next day we got picked up by the bus and enjoyed our lesson. It was awesome! The owner from the store was absolutely nice advising us not only the best board but also the best spots to surf in the West Coast. He took the time to show us the beach cameras in the different spots and to help us putting the racks on the car. We kept the boards 1 more day by just texting him and he was completely fine! I really recommend the place to rent the boards, he has good board, in good conditions for less price than at the beach! Cheers!

Rik and Ksenia are super cool! They surf The Algarve every day and run the shop themselves. The boards are top notch, they'll loan you a strap and foam to secure board on your rental car, can plug you into where to surf when, let you exchange boards anytime during rental, and all they ask is a very competitive rental rate in cash when you return the board. Added tons of good vibes to our trip.

I was on a solo surf trip and finding good boards to ride and learning about the beaches and conditions is always a challenge. Luckily, I stumbled into Magic Board Center on my first day and they completely made my surf trip. They gave me free beach maps with detailed info on how each spot breaks, what swell and wind they need and so on. They showed me live webcams too and helped choose where is the best to go every day. Literally, every day because during my 9-day trip I visited the store every single day either for more information or to swap boards but their patience never ran out. Moreover, they prices were also very fair and I found out last day that because of y long-term rental I got additional discounts too. I am very grateful for Magic Board Center and recommend it to anyone !

Me and a friend used this place to hire SUPs and surfboards for our trip to Lagos. Prices are competitive and reasonable and the owners are incredibly helpful in terms of local knowledge etc. Also there is a good range of boards in good condition so anyone can hire what they need for their ability. Would reccomend!

Really good advice. We was there to book a surfing tour. They checked for us the conditions and said us that the waves could be to big for us on the beach of the tour. After that we rent 2 boards and went by ourself to a beach that they recommended us for that day. It was a fantastic day. Thanks a lot for your help magic board center!

Staff was extremely friendly. They recommended that we take a course but we already had plans for the next day. Nonetheless, they gave us a crash course and guided us to the best beach for our experience. Amazing customer service ! They even turned the a/c on when we told them we were canadian and not used to the portugueuse heat :)

We rented two perfect and new surfboards including a free soft-rack for our car and two new wetsuits for more than a week. I always struggle with the decision to travel with my board -- and give the airlines way too much money to toss my gear around like a discus -- or rent. Renting is a gamble because you could end up choosing between a slightly-dinged, yellowed 25 liter potato chip or a ceiling-high log with 3 decades of wax build up. Magic Board Center offers a wide variety of high quality, nearly brand-new boards to rent or buy that you can swap out depending on the conditions. But by far the best part of this shop are the people. They are super-friendly, highly-knowledgeable, and flexible -- they even delivered a board to me in Sagres! There is a reason these guys are 5 star rated. Excellent company with all the top boards, great prices and personalized service. I went to Lagos since I wanted to surf in the sun. It’s been rainy and grey in Seattle since October. I needed some vitamin D. When I got to Lagos, I started looking for surf lessons and board rental shops. I searched TripAdvisor & Google reviews. Most shops had overall positive feedback but also had negative feedback too. Every shop except this shop. They were 5 STAR rated. Reading through the reviews of them, was very encouraging. I decided to go visit them. Upon entering the shop for the first time, you realize this is a surf board shop. Not a clothing shop that also rents surfboards. This is what the real board shops look like that I visited in the USA & Brasil. There focus is on the boards, and it shows. They have all the top brands in the different styles and sizes. I was pleasantly suprrised to see they also had Tomo boards to purchase / rent. I’ve not seen that outside of the USA. There were two people who greeted me who I assume were the owners. They welcomed me in and we chatted for a bit. I explained what I was looking for and then the guy took me over to find the right board for me, while the gal looked up the different beaches to show me where I should go. The board I ended up renting was brand new! I was the first rider on it. While the guy was waxing the board, the gal explained the tides a bit for the Lagos area and gave me some tips and tricks. 15 minutes later I had a board and all the info I needed to enjoy a day of surfing in Lagos. And with their tips, I knew that the tide went out again at 4pm so I should hit it up shortly after and I can get an evening surf session in. Both the owners were fantastic. They gave me excellent service and rented me the perfect board for my day of surfing for a great value. I would highly recommend you check these guys out when visiting Lagos.

Lovely lovely people and very helpful, showed us all the best spots and gave us all the info on tides etc. GREAT! We actually went surfing with Rik on one day as we were on the same beach coincidentally. He give us some on wave tips and Ksenia took some pictures and shared them with us.
