If you are seeking s good ambiance and semi- international and also Portuguese but reliable and consistent food in the hills of lovely neighborhood of Lapa, Clube de Jornalistas is a good choice. Sometimes misleading because of its name that it is only open to journalists, it welcomes everybody but reservation is necessary. I have tried almost everything on their menu and all dishes are served with good touch and taste. I especially like “kofte” which is served with lentils and with right touch of herbs and spices. Also in the summer, its garden offers a good setting for a quiet dinner but l always prefer to sit in the rooms decorated with colorful tiles. I don’t personally like the back dark grey painted room , a later addition , to this antique setting so l always make sure to ask for a table in one of the tiled rooms. It is also ideal for birthdays or anniversaries as there are rooms that can accommodate only some 25 people groups. The service is friendly and they welcome you with glass of prosecco and see you off with a little present which is either a cloth bag with a design of Portugal’s local emblem sardines or the one that carries restaurant’s logo or other surprise little presents. Suggest a walk down the street towards Santos to admire the residential buildings adorned with gorgeous antique tiles after your meal. Walk up could be a bit tough as it is a steep hill.

One of the best, most welcoming and friendly dining experiences I’ve ever had. Such nice food and drink with the staff attending to you in the most lovely manner, making you feel like an honored guest in their restaurant. We had a glass of Prosecco given to us while we waited for our table and the girls were given nice little sardine tote bags when they left, with the boys receiving cans of sardines. Small things that wouldn’t cost the restaurant much but give so much value to the experience and show that the owners are generous in wanting to enrich each guest with an experience to always remember. That’s what dinning is all about.

Etwas gehobenere Küche, sehr lecker. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen Sekt auf's Haus, um die kurze Wartezeit trotz Reservierung zu überbrücken. Sehr nette Bedienung, wie eigentlich überall in Lissabon. Zum Abschied gab es auch noch ein Geschenk.

Such an amazing place! The only thing better than the food are the people who work here. However, they don't seem to be 'working' as they truly enjoy what they do. Luisa and Ivan want to make sure you have an experience with their food and drinks and that is exactly what you get! The environment is fun, cozy, loose, light, and unpretentious with each unique room of the house that serves as more than just a restaurant as you are made to feel as if you are at home being served a wonderful meal. Whether it's the must have ceviche de carapau, the risotto de monqueca de camarao, or their very own wine (ask for #1) you will find familiar ingredients prepared in not so familiar ways!

An amazing experience.
Everything, from the place to the food in my plate, was on top. Excellent service, excellent atmosphere.
The plates were delicate and the wine well recommended by our waiter. He stayed discrete while being efficient.
I really recommend you try this place if you are looking for something new and a bit more classy while in Lisbon. Perfect for couples in my opinion.

This restaurant is very intriguing and a must visit. Dishes are extremely tasting and very well presented. Upon entering you are presented with a glass of cava each to mingle in the waiting area. Then taken to your table where you are given the menu in a typewriter given letter style in an envelope (very chic!). The menu is varied and very appealing. We had the Lamb Burger Kofta style (no Bread), black pig risotto, confit cod and prawn risotto. All dishes were extremely tasty and high end.
Staff are very professional and friendly. We met the owner Luisa and she is very much a good character and chatty.
Would very much strongly recommend a visit to this restaurant which is decorated in a quaint old style house with quirky decor dotted around.

We had a beautiful meal here on a Friday night in Lisbon. The service was impeccable from start to finish - couldn’t fault it whatsoever! Our waiter was the most attentive we had in Lisbon and enjoyed chatting with us and giving his personal suggestions. It feels quite exclusive and tables are well spaced out so it doesn’t feel too busy at all. Our starters and mains were absolutely delicious and the wine we were recommended paired perfectly with our dishes. It is a bit out of the way from the typical spots in Lisbon but we took a cheap, quick Uber to and from. We were really glad to have come here, you can tell the owners and staff put a huge effort into the restaurant!

It was a wonderful treat to dine at the Club. The dishes had Brazilian influence as the chef is from there. The layout of restaurant is interesting where you are walking around to get to the dining table. It has a beautiful garden space which will be lovely when the weather is warm enough to enjoy it. The service is wonderful too. We even got a small gift at the end of the meal as a token o hospitality. It is worthwhile to go to Lapa neighborhood to dine at this place.

Couldn’t have been another place more suitable to for our last day in Lisboa. Staring with the nicest welcoming with a glass of Cava for each, to the greatest starters (keep in mind Berinjela Assada and Foie gras), to the exquisite main courses (Bife Lombo most tender and delicious beef steak). The wine, the very nice and professional serving, the wonderful terrace, the Geckos wondering around :), all perfect. The prices are a bit above average (40/50 euro/person for all), but it was all worth it! ♥️

I dare say it was one of the best dinners in ma life. After having pork loin, prawn risotto and eggplant in miso caramel sauce, my willingness to pay was more than $100 even we ended up paying 50 euros. Staff members were all so nice and welcoming. All the dishes were made with a lot of cares in it, maximizing the taste of the raw fresh ingredients. would love to visit again for sure.

This was an absolute fantastic evening. Had the full menu including port and cigar on the stairs after dinner. Absolute the best service and food we have had in Portugal. A hidden star and golden stone you need to go the 2 kilometre to enjoy this overwhelming experience.

This restaurant is the best place for extraordinary dinner in Lisboa. We went there three times during our 4-days-trip. It is so diffenrent to all the tourist traps in the city center.
They serve delicious food and excellent wine. For "sweet fellows" I strongly recommend the "chocolate soup". See the attached pictures to get a better impression....

On nous accueille chaleureusement avec un verre de mousseux. Nous avons partagé les entrées de ceviche de maquereaux et les aubergines. Quel délice! Le chef nous a aussi apporté en personne deux entrées surprise. En plat, le codfish et le poulpe. Nous avons préféré le codfish, mais la poulpe était très bonne aussi. Le personnel est ultra sympathique et professionnel. Le gâteau au chocolat en dessert était divin. Nous avons adoré notre expérience. Nous recommandons vivement le déplacement. On nous a remis des tote bags en guise de présent avant notre départ. Meilleur resto de Lisbonne!

Von außen eher unscheinbar, verbirgt sich im Inneren ein sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit Top-Küche und ein toller Außenbereich. Wie fast überall in Lissabon ist das Personal sehr freundlich. Wir hatten drei Gänge, wobei der Nachtisch (sweet things) auch optisch die Krönung war.

Le restaurant est assez chic, c’est un endroit magnifique qui possèdent de belles faïences portugaises typiques. Ce restaurant est situé dans un ancien hôtel particulier qui ce centre autour d'une cour intérieure aménagée en terrasse. La cuisine est raffinée et excellente !
Le restaurant propose un verre de champagne en signe de bienvenue et un sac en tissu à la fin de repas.
Ce restaurant me semble être un lieu incontournable si vous visitez ce quartier. Le menu est osé avec une glace au fromage par exemple (qui n’est pas de mon goût).

Atendimento "exageradamente" bom. Jardim muito agradável. Comida, atrevo-me a dizer, má. Pratos quentes servidos "frios", acompanhamentos absurdos e uma relação qualidade/preço completamente pretenciosa. Basicamente paga-se pelo espaço e atendimento, quando o que define um restaurante (o seu valor) deveria ser a qualidade dos seus pratos. O melhor do jantar (e provamos 4 pratos principais) foi a sobremesa. Basicamente é um restaurante com enorme potencial que valha a pena quando repensarem o menu.

開店してすぐの時間に予約をしていきました。
一見周りは普通の住宅街なので心配になりますが、ドアを開けるととっても雰囲気のある空間で驚きます。(行きも帰りもバス＋徒歩で行きました)
また、入店するとウェルカムドリンクとしてシャンパンをいただけるのにも驚きました。昔ジャーナリスト達が利用していた場所だけあって、メニューも封筒に入って渡されます。
前菜を仔牛のカルパッチョとメロンと洋ナシのスープを、メインに黒イベリア豚のステーキ、タコのグリルをオーダしました。
カルパッチョのボリュームに驚きましたが美味しかったです。
物珍しさと冒険心からメロンと洋ナシのスープを選びましたが、すっきりとした甘味のあるスープでした。前菜よりはコースの口直しとかだったら100点かも。
メインのタコのグリルも柔らかく、スイートポテトのピュレがよい味変になっていたと思います。イベリコのステーキは少し硬めでしたが、うまみのある豚でボリューム満点です。
デザートにまた物珍しさからEycakyotus(ユーカリ)とMoscatel(モスカテル)のアイスを選びました。ユーカリといえばコアラしか連想できないし、モスカテルはワインなどに利用されるブドウの品種だそうですがこちらもとても期待できました。どちらも爽やかな香りとスッキリとした甘味があり、冒険して大正解でした！
とっても雰囲気のあるよいレストランで、お店の方もフレンドリーなのでオススメです！

We decided to eat here on a whim because it was close to where we were staying on our last night travelling in Lisbon but did not expect to have such a wonderful experience.The glass of sparkling wine on arrival was a much appreciated gesture but what made this such a great experience was our waitress Daniela.She told us interesting details on the history of the restaurant(it was build in a former school and actually holds journalists’meeting)and really took the time and care to create a great dining experience for us.She even gave us a few souvenirs from the restaurants on our way out.We loved our meal and experience here and wish we could go back.

Amazing! They have a separate vegan menu and the staff are happy to accommodate for vegetarians by altering the main menu - I had the risotto minus the pork cheeks. Delicious. Also, the caramel aubergine is a MUST! The staff are so lovely too, really helpful and friendly.

A rare 5 banger for a tremendous restaurant with a chef creative enough to create for you in the spot. The paradox is that this non vegetarian restaurant is one of the best vegan restaurants on earth if you ask. And what a lovely space. I can't imagine why you wouldn't go.

un accueil fabuleux... on est accueilli avec deux verres de champagne en guise de bienvenue la terrasse est super jolie le service souriant professionnel ....nous avons très bien mangés ...nous y sommes aller 2 fois lors de notre séjour ...en fin de repas nous avons même eu droit à un petit cadeau de la maison nous avons trouvé ça très commerçant... je recommande vivement ce restaurant

Beautiful space, friendly staff, and thoughtful owners from start to finish. It's setup for success.
The only issue was the food itself. It underwhelmed. The eggplant was the highlight of the night - though it's a tad sweet for anything early during the repast. The Ceviche de Carapau in theory was looking devine, but the dish came out under seasoned and just lacked any inspiration. The Shrimp Risotto was in a similar category as the eggplant and lived up to the quality that other posts discuss. Lastly the calamari fell to the same fate as the poor ceviche.
Perhaps this was an anomaly. I just left wanting more flavor, pizazz, and inspiration in the rote dishes.

Given the good ratings of this place I was expecting more from the food but it was quite disappointing. Nothing extraordinary, pretty average taste. Service was friendly though. Ratings is not justified as compared to other restaurants in Lisbon with the same ratings.

non do quasi mai le 5 stelle ma questo posto le merita. non tanto per il cibo che è comunque ottimo, ma per l'insieme che è veramente da 5 stelle! l'accoglienza, lo stile del locale ricavato da un'abitazione storica con le stanze ancora originali, il servizio e la cortesia del personale.
abbiamo cenato con un antipasto, primo e dolce e con le porzioni corretto siamo rimasti soddisfatti. il conto è decisamente proporzionato.

Set in a multiple room 18th century mansion on the back streets of Lisbon, this gem of a restaurant is inconspicuous in both its location and its use as a food establishment. With that said, and after managing to locate it, we had a wonderful experience dining here. Sparkling wine while we waited for a few moments for our table and then straight into the 'Petit tour' menu offering a taste of 3 starters, a main, and a selection of small deserts. We were provided pairing throughout all three courses. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive. The overall vibe of the restaurant was cozy-elegant. It didn't seem like a locals place and looked to cater mainly to tourists. If you're looking for great modern Portuguese food in a old world environment, this is a good pick.

Best night/dinner in Lisbon. Luzia the owner went above and beyond to make our night special. Not only was dinner fantastic (don't skip the Eggplant with Miso Caramel or the dessert sampler) but the experience was second to none. Luzia and her team made is feel at home. They recommended the best Portuguese wine and also told us where to get a late night drink with Chef Ivan. At their sister restaurant we met a crew from DC with whom we shared a ton of laughs, wine glasses and great memories. This is what traveling should be like. A hidden gem!

Absolutely divine food!! This place is beautiful a local gem. Hidden away in an old house. Aperitif bubbles on arrival and wonderful bread too. The steak was incredible !!! So tasty perfectly done and the black pork looks delicious too! Lovely red wine. Great staff. They gave us a lovely tote bag as a gift when we left. Menus in little envelopes. Reasonably price mains €15-23!

Che dire.... Meraviglioso ! Locale un po' fuori mano e poco appariscente, dentro esattamente il contrario. Ambiente curato con gusto, perfettamente in linea col nome, personale molto gentile e impeccabile... Forse troppo formale, ma giusto per voler trovare qualcosa che non va. Piatti di assoluto livello, sapori che rimangono sempre ben chiari, ma insieme creano ottimi piatti. Esempio confesso che l'antipasto a prima vista non mi aveva impressionato.... Invece un'esplosione di sapori. Porzione generose, conto molto molto onesto. Un peccato dover uscire.

Very good restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. If you are looking for great food in a nice and quiet surrounding, then Clube de Journalistas is the right place to go. The club members still meet here from time to time and you can imagine the heated discussions taking place here. In summertime the inner yard provides a romantic space to eat under the sky or celebrate with friends.

Visited this restaurant in Fall 2017--it was completely an accident that we dropped in, but I'm so glad my friends and I found it. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch seated out by the courtyard. The food was outstanding, the staff friendly, and the ambiance an absolute delight. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

You most likely won’t find any locals here, only travelers. It is located in a residential area. The place is beautiful and the staff very attentive. The food is very good as well and you even receive a gift before you leave. We were impressed.

An einer unscheinbaren Adresse gelegen, an der man nicht zufälligerweise so einfach vorbei kommt. Sehr schönes Alt Portogisisches Ambiente. Elegant die unterschiedlichen Räumlichkeiten, elegant auch das Menü.
In einem ✉ Briefumschlag als Schreiben überreicht. Kompetenter und freundlicher Service. In der wärmeren Jahreszeit auch ein
Gastgarten. Die Preisgestaltung ist im gehobenen Bereich angesiedelt, dies ist dem qualitativ teuerem Waren Einsatz bei den Hauptgerichten geschuldet und hat seine Berechtigung. Vor und Nachspeisen bewegten sich im Normalen Preisumfang.
Im vegetarischen Bereich muss man sich mit dem Vorspeisen Angebot zufrieden geben.
Es wurden zwar alle verfügbaren Speisen als Zusammenstellung angeboten aber dies insgesamt waren "Beilagen" zu den Fleisch Gerichten. Diese übrigens waren köstlich.
Zum Abschied gab es noch ein Gastgeschenk, in der originellen Form eines mit Sardinen bedruckten Einkaufbeutels und einer Dose Sardinen.
Ps:Die Eingangstür ist immer verschlossen, der Patron öffnet dem Gast die Tür.

This restaurant is incredible. Very nice and welcoming atmosphere, very friendly and competent personnel and very good food. Our waitress was very attentive without being intrusive. She had very good input on the wine selection and helped making this evening perfect to us. Our food was cooked on point and the taste was very well balanced. All in all we can recommend this restaurant without reservation, especially considering the incredible value for money. Very much looking forward to to visit this place again, when we come back to Lisbon.

Top notch service and meal, we were immediately greeted with sparkling. The restaurant is large and has a really pleasant atmosphere with a large garden in back.
The meal was excellent, from appetizers, main and desert, combined with great white and red wine and liqour nothing to complain about.

Als Redakteur sprach mich der Name des Restaurants direkt an. Die Bewertungen lasen sich äußerst gut. Also wollte ich mir selbst ein Bild darüber machen, ob andere übertreiben, oder ob es wirklich so gut ist. Meine Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend, alles was wir aßen war überragend und das Ambiente, drinnen wie draußen, war äußerst romantisch. Preislich etwas gehobener ist es für den Service und alles herum mehr als angemessen und sogar günstig. Eine absolute Empfehlung für dieses tolle Restaurant.

Fantastic experience. When we called to reserve on the same day, the restaurant was full, but we left our number in case they got a cancellation. Not having got this call, we nevertheless stopped by in the evening on the off chance that they could fit us in. And they did! We were very lucky, because the restaurant turned out to be a treasure. We got a room on the non-crowded, very large patio in the back garden, and the food, wine and service were all great, and the prices were very reasonable considering the quality. One of our best experiences in Lisbon.

Für mich ein bisschen überbewertet, wenn manche schreiben, das sei eines der besten Restaurants der Welt. Die Küche ist gut, die Preise angemessen, der Service hervorragend. Die Zusammenstellung (Schwinenacken mit Kidneybohnen und Seetang) hat sich für mich als nicht besonders stimmig herausgestellt. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Lokal, das 4 Sterne verdient, aber ich hatte in Lissabon auch bessere, deshalb kein fünfter Stern.

What a gem!! We read the recent reviews and were hopeful but, believe me , this is a special place. It won't break the bank, the staff and ambience are excellent and the food superb. We were given a glass of bubbly as we arrived, served with one of their new starters just to try, and the dishes we ordered were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. To top it all, we were given a gift each as we left - won't tell you what because it will spoil the surprise!
A very relaxed, friendly, but high quality restaurant which shouldn't be missed!

One of the best restaurants we've visited, worldwide. Quality, price, and professionalism of service people are amazing. We were able to get a table for 2 just by walking up but it was their last one. Call ahead and you might be able to get a seat in their garden. We had the steak (an excellent, dry aged sirloin) and the lamb hamburger. Both were fantastic, as was the sweet things dessert. Very cozy, laid back, and somewhat romantic spot. 6/5 stars!

We discovered the Clube by coincidence: we stood outside and checked the menu; immediately the door was opened and we were invited inside for a tour of the rooms and a drink on the house! Of course we had to come back - elegant yet relaxed with an extremely good kitchen and the best service I have ever had (they even improvised vegetarian dishes for us, which are hard to come by in Lisbon!) The prices were more than adequate and fair. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and hope to come back soon!
