We got married in Portugal almost 3 weeks ago on the 5th of June in the Vidamar Hotel. As I sit down to write this review I realise that honestly there are no words to thank Kellie and James Hardie for everything they did for myself and Ronan, I can only hope that this review reflects how unbelievably grateful we are to have met them and to have had them involved in the planning and of course the photography of our day. I first contacted James in June 2017 while researching photographers in the Algarve. I had already booked our venue and wedding planner at this point and was on to my next task of finding a photographer. When I came across James’s facebook page and seen all of their previous work I knew i just had to have them, their photographs just blew me away. I contacted James and was so excited when he confirmed that they were still available for our date so I went ahead and provisionally booked them. In the background I contacted my wedding planner to tell her that I had found a photographer available who I absolutely loved and that I had booked them for our date, only to be told that she would not work with this photographer under any circumstances, leaving me to choose between her and the photographer. Lesson to be learned for all future brides.. don't rush into booking a planner, you may not even need one with all the information available online. If you are having one always ask planners before booking them if they have any restrictions around what suppliers they work with!! In the end I just couldn’t continue having this planner organise what should be the most enjoyable day of my life when she knew that I felt so unhappy but just did not seem to care at all. Kellie & James kindly offered to step in, not only to be our photographers but to help plan the entire day and to say that this was the best decision we ever made is such an understatement. These guys truly have the bride and groom’s interest at heart and their only focus was ensuring that we felt happy and that we had the day that we wanted. Kellie took over the planning from this point and organised the entire day, her daughter Megan also helped and even decorated our venue for us on the morning of the wedding. Kellie was so organised and helpful throughout the last year.. I honestly don’t know where she gets the time to sleep!! I was so relaxed on the day, as i knew i had nothing to stress about. As for the photography, well they had a team of people with them on the day. Everyone commented on how professional they all were. They made us feel so at ease and we had a great laugh with them. We received our extended video clip with the drone and it is just unreal, something we will cherish forever and brings tears to my eyes. I am sure our photographs will be just as amazing. Thanks again Kellie, James & Team, we will never forget the effort you put in to make our big day so special and so enjoyable , we enjoyed every bit of it from start to finish XxX

Had a couples photoshoot on the beach, cannot tell you how friendly & professional James & Kellie were - we were put at ease straight away & felt like we had known each other for years, amazingly positive experience; partner & I looked like film stars! Highly recommended & will be telling our friends & family to book should they come to Portugal, would give 10 stars if I could.

I had this special couple as my wedding photographers and they were outstanding. They also did our video which we love. Extremely professional, kind and fun. 100% amazing

When we were looking for photographers, we found many similar ones online. We began to think that perhaps we should just pick and book one, but stubbornly I kept searching until I stumbled across James Hardie Photography. I’ve never seen such stunning wedding photos and we immediately emailed James, knowing that they were The Ones! We met with them in their studio before the wedding and I don’t think any of the four of us stopped laughing the whole time. It was more like spending time with (incredibly calming and knowledgable!) friends. We also booked a Trash the Dress shoot after seeing some stunning pictures from other couples. Fast forward to our wedding day and all of a sudden I’m nervous... Kellie and James walk through the door and I began to relax. From the very first email, their communication was outstanding; they are professional, friendly and they are best friends, who just happen to be a husband-and-wife-dream-team too! Our wedding day was beyond perfect. It honestly felt as though Kellie and James were our wedding guests (our guests LOVED them!) and none of the photos felt onerous or forced. Our photos were taken as the sun was setting and I can only describe the experience as a delight. The four of us laughed and joked as the sun went down and Kellie and James took breathtaking photos (was it really us in those photos!?!?) The rest of the wedding rolled by in a cloud of happiness and James and Kellie just seemed to pop up in prime position with a camera at every emotional moment! Perfect! A couple of days after the wedding, we got dressed in our dress and suit again (bonus!) and James and Kellie came to pick us up. We walked to all of our favourite spots... the places that made us fall in love with Alvor. We spent two hours of pure joy playing around on the beach and even in the sea, being us and having fun, whilst the Hardies worked their magic with cameras! It was one of the best days of my life and it wouldn’t have been so wonderful without James and Kellie. A truly unique couple, with photography skills that delight and amaze us every time... James and Kellie were very friendly and professional from the start, we met each other months before the wedding to discuss everything. This put me at ease as I knew then we had the right people for our big day. They are easy to work with which is what you need on your wedding day (no stress) Our wedding album and parent albums are just amazing from start to finish. They are put together beautifully capturing every moment of our special day from start to finish. I love looking at our album and everyone that has seen it including myself says it looks like something out of a magazine. The only problem I have now is choosing which pictures to put on a canvas as there is too many amazing pictures to choose from. James and Kellie took our photos for our wedding in Sao Rafael Atlantico, and it was a great decision! From the start communication was really easy and we could ask any queries which were answered really promptly. As they have lived in the Algarve for many years they had great knowledge about the venue, where the best shots were to take and the best timings for the private shoot on the day to get the best light. They were great on the day, really easy to work with and helped me and my husband relax as we're not used to posing for lots of photos! The photos were fantastic and we're so pleased with all of them! They did a mixture of group shots and natural shots which is exactly what we wanted. Would 100% recommend using James and Kellie. Thank you for capturing the fantastic memories from our special day.

Je trouve que ce n’est pas du tout professionnel. Il y a ceux qui sont passionnés et qui proposent des devis et ceux qui sont malheureusement là que pour le business.

We booked a photo shoot with Kellie for our family holiday to Algarve in November this year. Initially when we contacted her, we asked for a recommendation for a nice spot because obviously we are tourists and don't know the place well. She recommended a beach which was a 20 minute drive form the beach resort where we were staying. A day before the photo shoot, Kellie contacted me in the afternoon to confirm the time. She said she only had afternoon available as she had another session booked for the morning. I replied 5 hours later, as soon as I saw her email, as we were on holidays and didn't have access to the internet on the go. I said that I would contact her first thing in the morning after I have spoken to my husband, to confirm the time. And that's exactly what I did, I sent her an email at 7.30 am as soon as we woke up in order to confirm that we could do 4 pm in the afternoon. She then replied saying that she could no longer do 4pm, because I was late to reply to her, so she had to book another session and now can only do 2 pm. That would have been fine, although you'd ask yourself why didn't she ring instead of sending an email if it was so urgent? Anyway, she actually sent us a different photographer. The "new" photographer was nice, but she didn't seem too experienced. We ended up having the whole session in 10-15 mins, which I think was a bit short considering we were a family of 12 people. Also, the beach we went to as per Kellie's recommendation wasn't anything special, we all thought that the beach where we were staying was actually nicer. However, ours would have been a bit of a drive for the photographer, whereas this one was near the studio. Even though that's understandable, however it suggests that we weren't given genuine advice when we asked for it. We did end up with some nice photos, although not too many (40 photos in total), and for that reason, I hadn't left a bad review, because what else would you want from a photo shoot. However I went today and printed a few of them. I chose the standard size, and one of the photos came cropped. This can only imply that the resolution in the soft copy of that photo is not standard. As a conclusion do I recommend this place? You will get some nice shots but I guess a good camera does half the job (although, be wary of the size for printing). The service, though, is far form 5*.

What can I say..... These guys are amazing. For the years up to the wedding and the months after, their support cannot be questioned. If you want amazing images and photographers that don't take over your day and your guests love.... Book these guys. I can't thank them enough. They captured our day perfectly. Thanks guys, you're the best x

We used James and Kellie almost two years ago and it's took us almost this long to say... THANKYOU... we had both the photography and videography done with them and it was faultless! Maybe taking this long to write the review makes it more valuable. 2 years on and just as impressed. Our daughter has the video one her tablet and always plays it. The photos were amazing and the video just as impressive. One of the best treasures we have of our special day! Both me and my wife couldn't recommend James & Kellie enoug!
