The Freedom kayak tour was a wonderful experience. Our guide was fun, funny and informative. The caves were amazing. The kayaking was exciting but not scary thanks to the perfect waves.

Very fun experience. Guides have great energy and enthusiasm for the coastal geology and marine life and will make every effort to show you many interesting things when possible.
The guides are also very accommodating and patient when helping first time kayakers.
They set a leisurely pace so don’t be intimidated if you have never done this before.
You are provided with high quality waterproof bags, waterproof phone cases and of course a high quality ocean kayak for the trip.
There are many caves to explore and beaches to see. We stopped briefly on one very beautiful secluded beach for a quick break. The cave tour trip is 3-4hours.
I would 100% recommend booking yourself onto this kayak tour. It’s an amazing coastline to explore and the guides are great!

Great experience. Ricardo and his team were really warm and welcoming. They were very supportive when we capsized. Although it states the duration is 3hrs, it is probably 4. A nice amount of kayaking. Definitely would recommend.

Ricardo and George combine excellent knowledge of marine life, geography, and local culture with a terrific attitude that really got us in the mood for kayaking despite sub-par weather. This tour company is as real as it gets and I couldn't recommend it more.

We went with Ricardo and George today - it was incredible. Ricardo is a really good guide (and the funniest guys ever) and he knows everything about the marine animals along the way. Would recommend this for sure!!!!

Brilliant experience. Been a while since I'd kayaked. This was a great, safe experience. Towed out of the harbour to the open sea alongside the shore. Stopped along the way for Algarve geology lesson 101 to explain why the coast had formed in this way and then kayaked in and out of the various coves, and their stories.. The scenery is spectacular! Not an understatement. Knowledgeable team guiding us around the coast. We'll be back next year to do this again. Absolutely loved it. And if you are worried you wouldn't be fit enough to do this ... my age begins with a '5'. And not the low numbers.

I loved everything about this tour. Ricardo and David were very friendly and very knowledgeable about the caves we visited and the wildlife. We started the day being towed out of the harbour to the first cave (good fun) and whilst David told us a little about each cave we visited in our kayaks Ricardo caught an octopus, sea cucumber, starfish, sea urchin and crab. So when we ended up on a beautiful remote beach only accessible by boat Ricardo and David were able to teach us about these creatures. We also had the opportunity for snorkeling which were provided for all of us and swimming. After a few photos it was time to head back we were towed back and Ricardo opened the throttle to the speed boat and so it was a fun ride. I understand now why previous reviews say take a spare set of dry clothes to change into. A great time was had by all I would thoroughly recommend taking this tour we were very fortunate that it was a calm day and so all the caves we visited were accessible. Thanks to Ricardo and David making it a really fun and educational experience.

This was a wonderful experience! Me and my 12 year old nephew joined the trip and we both found it extremely beautyful and interesting. The tour guides was profesional and experienced and had a lot of good knowledge of the area and marine life. I had some experience with kayaking from before, but it was the first time for my nephew - we both had a great time!

La experiencia ha sido increíble, los acantilados, las cuevas y el mar transparente son de una belleza arrebatadora. Es un entorno que me ha cautivado desde el primer minuto. Los guías muy simpáticos y atentos en todo momento. Quizás un par de peros que me hacen no puntuar con cinco estrellas. El precio quizás sea algo alto y que escogidos un Kayak defectuoso se llenaba de agua por el interior, circunstancia que nos hizo volcar en uno de los pasadizos golpeandonos en la cabeza con el kayak del guía y quedando mi pareja debajo de nuestro kayak volcado durante unos 30 segundos interminables, ahí vimos una situación de peligro porque nos cortamos en los pies y piernas con las rocas y no nos golpeados con ellas en la cabeza por pura suerte. Quizás sea conveniente el uso de cascos.

What a nice day out!
Maybe we were lucky with the weather, but I don't think so. ( late August )
Good equipment (stable kayaks, modern life jackets, good waterproof bags for your phone, camera, towel, etc).
Knowledgeable, keen, enthusiastic people.
It was so nice to meet the creatures our expert hosts collected, brought to our intimate attention, and released, as we paddled through amazing caves, arches etc.
I will do this again, as soon as I can.

Nous avons réservé pour une ballade de 3 h pour la visite des grottes. 25 euros par personne, c'est très abordable. Accueil super sympa et efficace. Les deux animateurs ont été très pro et très attentifs à la sécurité de tous. Nous avons fait une halte dans une des criques... c'était vraiment super. Grâce aux masques de plongée prêtés par freedom kayak ceux qui le voulaient ont pu regarder les poissons dans les rochers. Bonne ambiance, chouette après midi !

Très belle rando en kayak, bonne organisation, pas difficile du tout d'autant que le staff prévoit un remorquage pour la sortie et la rentrée au port. Attention toutefois au froid! Prévoir un vêtement adapté, j'étais gelée !!! En même temps, gare aux coups de soleil ! Cette sortie mer permet de voir les falaises de près, d'entrer dans les grottes, de passer entre les rochers. Une expérience unique! Staff super sympa et efficace. Sur le retour, on fait une étape sur une plage de rêve !

Una gran experiencia, los monitores muy simpaticos ya que te hacen la actividad muy amena y divertida. Podéis reservar por telefono o e-mail. Volveremos repetir con ellos. Recomendación buena protection solar, agua, gorra y algo de picar.

Knowledgeable, fun guides. We went out on a windy day and unfortunately did not get to see any caves but they pre warned us and took a discount from the price.
Very able in the water and did well to keep you comfortable.

Great expérience, the guides are show-men, knowledgeable of the coast history/secrets and helpful. You will go where only a kayak can go (compared to boats).
Tour of 10h00 can see more cave (depends on tide), but the 14h00 is more relaxed because it's the last tour of the day.
To fully enjoy this tour, you must have a (bare) minimum of physical aptitude. But if you feel too tired, you can be towed anytime during the tour. Bringing a light wind/rain coat may be a good idea for the trip back. You're towed all the way back (try to be in the lane to the right) with wind and waves.

It's really ok. I had higher expectations. Waves were big, not much to see. Too big of a group and you just ended up bumping in to each other. But I still recommend going through this experience as some people might find it fascinating!

Great trip, really excellent guides and instructors. So much information about the area and the environment, would highly recommend to anyone with a love of adventure. Would love to go back already! Take swimwear, and have something dry for when you get back to the beach! :)

Really nice guys running a great half day trip to nearby caves. The trip included stopping off at a beach only accessible from the sea and lots of interesting facts from the guys on the formation of the caves. It can get cold of the weather turns but would definitely recommend!

Ricardo was awesome, so much fun, as were the rest of the freedom kayak team. A truly amazing adventure with unbelievable views of the Algarve cliffs, and inside amazing sea caves. The team tow you behind a boat in some areas & this helps so no one gets tired. Rests are frequent when paddling & Ricardo and team are always there to offer a hand. This a a must do tour!
Note: Google maps takes you to a private residence. Just make your way to the main beach & their hut is easy to see from there

Merveilleuse ballade entre les grottes avec Ricardo un guide passionné et passionnant. Arrivés tiré par un bateau puis retour en kayak avec pause sur une petite plage pour le déjeuner quelques explications sur la faune et la flore et tout cela dans une ambiance amicale. Merci Ricardo tu n as plus qu' à apprendre le français et se sera parfait.

Amazing experience with Ricardo! He was very knowledgeable and we felt safe with him the entire tour. Our group was quite experienced so we got to tour more caves and go on a private beach. There was a boat following us and we were first towed out that day as the waves were quite high. We travelled here from Lagos and this was the defs the highlight of our trip! Amazing value and it was a great adventure. Note you WILL get wet and only recommend this if you like being on the water. Wear a bathing suit. I have kayaked many times in closed kayaks but this was different with open kayaks and we encountered some waves / swells. 5 stars!!

super schöne Kanu-Tour, vorbei an Steilklippen, Höhlen und einsamen Stränden. Dort hat man die Möglichkeit zu entspannen, zu schnorcheln oder Stand up Paddling zu versuchen.
Ricardo ist ein verrückter Kerl, kennt sich in der Unterwasserwelt aber bestens aus. An den einzelnen Zwischenstopps hat er uns verschiedene Meeresbewohner gezeigt und viel dazu erklärt.

Great day out I think I paid 50 euros for me and girlfriend was out on the water or 3-4 hours tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable waves are big and found going through some of the caves a bit scarey but crew are experiened and calm if anything was to go wrong

Lovely tour through the caves, ending in a secluded beach wher you can do some snorkeling. The guide is very funny and upbeat, will explain the history of the caves, and capture (and release) a few local maritime species and give you a brief explanation about them.

The rating should not reflect the service or the knowledge of the team...they were excellent. For us the group was way too big at 40 + people in 20 kayaks. It was a slow start with a long tow out but the chap leading was very knowledgable once we got going. Sadly with so many people it was tedious at points and for us the time on the beach was too long. If you want a big fun group experience then this would be good for you but if you are more inclined to keeping moving and keeping active then maybe not .
Having said all this they were very well set up and organised with dry bags and waterproof cases for phones! We wouldn't go back but no regrets!

Hired a double kayak at 10 euros for one hour which seemed reasonable. Very friendly staff who said that we shouldn't go out to the open sea but were otherwise able to do as we liked. Given dry bags and buoyancy aids without asking.

25€ par personne pour 3h de balade (en réalité nous avons mis 4h), avec une pause sur une plage déserte avec la possibilité de plonger, jouer ou explorer la plage (tuba, masque, ballon, raquettes fournis)
Personnel aux petits soins, et présence d'un bateau à proximité en cas de fatigue ou de soucis ; 2 guides sont également en kayak pour entourer le groupe.

We went my girlfriend and I spent an hour doing Kayak (the two places one) with this agency.
The service was very great, clean life jacket and help to put the Kayak on water (we didn't had questions, but they seem to answer gladly).
For the price of 10 € the hour for the two of us, it was clearly worth it and I clearly recommend this place to spend an afternoon.
Will gladly return ! :)

Une belle expérience avec une bonne équipe professionnelle. Le sentiment d être encadré par des amis et pas par des gens qui comptent les minutes et qui encaissent. Quasiment 4h ensemble pour une grosse balade en cayak, avec des passages dans des grottes fabuleuses et des passages un peu plus sportifs entre les rochers. Une très belles expériences pour un prix respectueux du client. On a même envie de leur donner plus.
Un grand merci a Ricardo et sa troupe.

Une magnifique excursion en kayak, près des falaises et dans les grottes de la côte portugaise, qui nous a été permise par notre guide du jour Octavian! En plus de nous faire découvrir des lieux magiques avec leur explication, il a su mettre une superbe ambiance au sein du groupe.
Nous avons découverts des lieux secrets, des poissons et même une seiche qui en lâchant de l'encre nous a émerveillé!
3h30 de kayak pour 25€ avec ce que l'on a vu, je le conseille à tous !

Very enthusiastic and caring crew. Much better than other companies I've been through. They make it interesting by showing some sea animals and there's always a big boat watching to make sure we are safe. They had snorkeling equipment too. Highly recommended!

Je recommande à 200%. 25€/personne, vraiment raisonnable pour la qualité de la prestation.
Au début nous partons tous les kayaks accrochés les uns aux autres et tirés par le bateau. Une fois arrivée, chacun à son rythme suit le groupe et visite les magnifiques "grottes". Ensuite nous nous arrêtons sur une plage paradisiaque qui n'est pas accessible autrement, donc vous et le groupe serez seuls dessus. A ce moment là, vous pouvez manger ce que vous avez apporté ou jouer avec quelques jeux que l'équipe ramène (racket, paddle, masque et tuba).
Pour finir, vous repartez en kayak pour rentrer dans un endroit magique et prendre quelques photos ainsi qu'écouter les explications sur l'environnement marin. A la suite de cet arrêt, vous avez le choix de repartir en kayak jusqu'au point de départ ou de rentrer comme pour l'aller tirés par le bateau.

Nous avons réserver 2 jours avant pour voir vis à vis des places disponibles. Ce fût une très belle expérience. Nous étions 2, 2 dans le même canoë et vraiment c'était génial.
Découverte de plusieurs animaux, et découverte de grotte accessible seulement en bateau ⛴ ou autres et non à pieds, du coup les grottes et les plages visitées était quasi déserte de l'homme.
L'activité devait durer seulement 2h30, nous sommes rentrer 4h30 après, et c'était vraiment génial.
À la fin nous avons même eu la possibilité de rentrer seul sans être accompagner du groupe, et à notre rythme.
Je recommande vivement, pour seulement 25 euros par personne pour 4h30 c'est vraiment rentable.
Nous remercions une fois de plus ricardo et son équipe qui sont géniaux et très dynamique.

Trip starts with briefing from highly experienced tour guide. Group got towed out in kayaks by speed boat then untied at destination to kayak. Seen dolphin pods feeding, amazing caves and cut off beaches. Tour guides explaining local marine environment and landscape. Kayaked into cut off cave and landed on shore to see fossils in rock. Spectacular views, like movie scene. On return to shore we stopped 30mins to spend snorkeling and paddle boarding too.
Advice: bring lunch with you and fully charged phone for taking pictures.
I cannot rate this trip high enough, it cost 25 euro. It should be more. I'd happily pay a hell of alot more. Amazing

Great day kayaking! Fun, knowledgeable guides & beautiful views of the cliffs & caves. We took the water taxi from Portiamo which only took a few minutes. Would highly recommend!

Amazing service. The guides were very knowledgeable, organized and helpful. They cheered everyone up during the whole time and made everyone have a good experience. I definitely recommend that you choose these guys for your kayak excursion in the Algarve. Even if you didn’t plan to stop in this town, it’s worth the detour.

Very funny experience. There was variety in the route: we saw nice cliffs and caves, we had a break in some unaccessible beaches, we had the change to use snorkels. Finally, went back with our kayaks hooked on a speedboat. Guides were funny people

A unique kayak trip across the coast. We saw many of the Carvoeiro riffs and visited some caves only reachable by the sea. The guides were very attentive and fun, they enjoy their job! We even have some time to relax in a inaccesible beach. Recommended!

Heel goed verzorgde kayaktochten waarbij eerlijk gezegd een van de begeleiders wel iets te druk is.
Misschien hadden we pech met de stroming of deining maar we vonden het wel zwaar
Ik zou zeggen boek deze trip op een dag met rustig weer.
Wel wordt je het eerste stuk voorgetrokken door een boot dat scheelt wel.

It' not so how you think it is, the waves are big, the cliffs are boring, it costs too much money and you drive back in the canu through boring rocks. The good thing is, the people help you in every situation.

Unreliable and pathetic communication -
Confirmed booking date and time over email, booked holiday accommodation in this town just for this activity. Turns out the staff were a no show, no email or contact, we showed up at the beach shack location at 9am after a long taxi ride, and they just didn't bother to come.
There was another British group who booked and paid for activities through their hotel, and even their hotel couldn't get in contact via phone, text, or email with the people running this service.
Wouldn't recommend, extremely disappointed, and don't be surprised if staff are a no show, even after confirmation or payment.

Very nice kayaking tour with two great guides. We did not know quite what we were getting ourselves into, but we were very happy with the whole thing.
We would definitely recommend you try it! Just remember to bring a hat, some water, a snack, and sunblock :-)

We had an absolute blast! First we explored caves and tunnels and beautiful secluded beaches before we hopped in the boat for a couple hours of fishing. The 3 of us caught enough fish to feed our party of 8.
The guides were professional but also really funny and personal. The best day of our holiday.

That was a fantastic adventure. You'll see so much of the coastline and a few more or less hidden beaches that makes one feel like a discoverer or pioneer. It is fun and was our highlight in Ferragudo.

Great tours but due to windy conditions the tour was extremely difficult and the rescue boat from company had a full agenda. Everyone was offered back their money by the company itself which was completely unnecessary. Sadly everyone did ask for their money back as they were "suffering". Anyway, the tour was great! Had a great time!
