This is my second visit here. The food is really good and definitely deserves 4,5 stars. Sadly the coffee is really bad. If you love coffee this place will make you unhappy. For soy or other milk alternatives they charge 1 euro more and they Don't accept foreign credit cards.

Simplicité, fraicheur et qualité. Un bon choix : soupe, pizza, salade et sandwich. Et un service très agréable. Un bonus : terrasse avec une vue imprenable du musée national des arts antiques.

Nice enough and done in the French style of bakeries. But it is well overpriced for Lisbon and is aimed at capturing the French visitors at Paris rates. Try the Portuguese instead.

Accueil convivial. Pendant notre séjour à Lisbonne d'une semaine, nous avons fait 3 brunch à partager (24 euros pour 2). C'est excellent et copieux. Petite étoile en moins car ils n'acceptent pas les CB Mastercard etc. seulement les CB portugaises. Je trouve ça un peu limite quand on voit que la plus grande partie de la clientèle est étrangère. A part ce point, tout est très bien.

Nice bakery indeed. It smells incredible, just get close to the entrance and you'll spellbound ❤ I had an almond croissant and my husband a goat cheese croissant. Both really yummy! The almond was surprisingly interesting combination as it is part croissant and part cake/cookie. Great choice to start your day!

A great neighborhood cafe which serves French quality croissants , fresh out off the oven, in the mornings. On good weather days, which is almost always in Lisbon, you can sit outdoors and eat while admiring Lisbon’s one of the most beautiful square. It has also nice indoor setting. It is great also for Sunday brunch. It offers simple but tasty menu. Service is friendly. Waiters speak English. The city’s one of the most interesting museums with precious art, Museo Arte Antiga is right across the way and La Boulangerie is a good place to stopover before or after museum visit.

They have many meals based on bread, but you can order other stuff. I ordered omlette, salad, chips and minty drink (non-alcoholic) and it was fine. Nice location and places to sit outside.

O Brunch é bastante bom. Gosto das mesinhas do lado de fora, coma vista de cima da praça. Como é pertinho de casa vamos com frequencia e adoramos.

caros, lamentavelmente, o V/ café la boulangerie está a ocupar ilegalmente (se for legal ainda é mais grave!) com uma mesa e duas cadeira o passeio que, por si, já é muito estreito. Que falta de civismo meus senhores e que retrato tão de Portugal (onde, ao que parece, tudo é permitido). E olhem que não sou a primeira pessoa a reclamar. Hoje, pelas 11h30, para passar, tive que pedir por favor aos clientes que lá estavam sentados, que ficaram muito incomodados e se justificaram que eram clientes, mas lá se encolheram. A culpa é V/ou da autarquia que permite tal ocupação. Um cidadão com mobilidade reduzida ou um invisual encontra ali um perigoso obstáculo.

A pior das experiências é ir ao Domingo à tarde à Boulangerie. Esperar 12 minutos na fila para poder pedir um simples croissant e uma limonada, sentar por mero acaso, porque vagou uma mesa (porque há pouquíssimo espaço no interior) ver uma invasão de gente a entrar e um outro batalhão de gente a reclamar porque está no exterior à espera de mesa há meia hora...foi tudo menos agradável. Para pagar, mais 10 minutos ao balcão à espera. Pagar 4,70€ por um croissant (bom, mas gorduroso) e uma limonada pequena, achei francamente um roubo e não sei se tenho vontade de voltar. Muitos clientes, mas serviço incompatível com a quantidade de pessoas presentes. Preços altos demais para as condições apresentadas.

Espaço muito acolhedor. Fui num dia de frio e chuva e lá dentro estava bem. Staff super simpático e acessível, muito descontraído. Comi o brunch e era muito bom, qualidade e quantidade mais que suficiente. Sem dúvida a repetir.

Interesting restaurant with a well thought menu. Located near the ancient history museum. Menus change daily. The desserts are absolutely delicious.

I would not recommend La Boulangerie for lunch, but rather only for breakfast as coffee and a pastry or toast are good. I tried La Boulangerie 3 times for lunch as I live around the corner and each time the service was slow and the lunch food very average. Today we waited 30 minutes to receive soup starters (which only just require heating up and pouring on a plate!) only for them to arrive lukewarm. To continue, my main course didn’t arrive by the time others in the group had finished their mains. I am 8.5 months pregnant, didn’t get my main course as at that point I decided to cancel it rather than continue to wait seating on the Boulangerie’s very uncomfortable outdoor stools. This was one of the most unpleasant lunch experiences I have ever had and we barely got an apology from the staff.

Tourist Trap As a neo-Lisbon resident, I am constantly puzzled by the high rating of La Boulangerie. Now, firstly this is not an establishment without merit - the pastries are some of the best in the area - with Cornettes and Baguettes equally good. However, as a restaurant this is a disaster - the food is mediocre and ingredient quality relatively low, with this poorness only outdone by service that would make a Parisian waiter blush. I have encountered incorrect orders, a salad that took 40 minutes to arrive at the table and general rudeness from the staff. My recommendation would be to grab a pastry, and walk on to one of the countless better restaurants in the area.

La Boulangerie es un lugar maravilloso, en primer lugar, porque tiene una vista privilegiada a la Casa de las ventanas verdes, donde se encuentra el Museo Nacional de Arte Antiguo; en segundo lugar porque tiene unos croissants deliciosos; en tercer lugar, porque la atención del personal y los propietarios es impecable. Recomiendo muy ampliamente el paquete llamado "chá das 5", incluye té, una tostada y unos scones, por sólo €7.

Loved the Eggcellent Breakfast. Croissants and Bread were delicious and the eggs were seasoned very well! Had only wished that they also except non-portugese card payments.

Probably the best breakfast in Lisbon. The croissants are as good as in France (in French) the bread an toast also!! The personnel is really friendly too, so if you are looking for a place to have a great breakfast: you've founded it :D

Pior serviço de mesa de sempre. Éramos os únicos na pastelaria e tinham as mesas todas com loiça por levantar, na 1h que ficamos lá as 2 empregadas não conseguiram levantar 1 mesa.

We had the Basic and Eggxcellent breakfast. There was plenty of everything and it tasted very good. There's not that much seating inside, but you have the option to sit on the terrace across the street

Gostei bastante, do espaço muito atual e casual, do simpático serviço e da qualidade do brunch que pedimos.

Sou apaixonada por este lugar! Os produtos são de excelente qualidade, têm um pão delicioso e já nem se fala dos croissants (de deixar água na boca). As compotas são francesas e deliciosas. O atendimento é extremamente simpático, o serviço é rápido! Os preço fazem jus à qualidade que nos é apresentada! Fazem menus de pequeno almoço para todas as carteiras e com diversidade de produtos. É um sítio rústico, que parece contar uma historia, cheio de velharias, mas que nos faz sentir em casa! A esplanada não é grande mas vale a pena passar lá um bocado. Adoro perder a minha manhã lá e tomar o meu pequeno almoço. Recomendo sempre! É um sítio aconchegante que, especialmente em dias de outono nos traz sempre algum conforto.

Há muito que queria experimentar este sítio, sobretudo após ler tantas opiniões positivas. Chegámos um pouco mais tarde que a hora de almoço. Haviam algumas pessoas sentadas na esplanada mas dentro estava quase vazio e percebe-se porquê. Apesar de terem ar condicionado não estava ligado, o que faz sentido pois as portas estavam abertas. Mas num dia de imenso calor isso obriga as pessoas quase a sentar na esplanada, onde os preços, como seria de esperar são “diferentes”. Enfrentando o calor decidimos sentar lá dentro, numa mesa que tinha acabado de ficar livre e como tal precisava de ser limpa. E foi. Com um guardanapo de cozinha... seco! Ignorei o facto porque pelo menos não estava nenhum líquido entornado como acontece em muitos outros sítios. Pedimos o brunch para partilhar e devo dizer que a quantidade de pão (um pãozinho pequeno normal e outro de cereais) é um pouco ridícula para duas pessoas apesar de que com a quantidade de coisas não se fica com fome. A comida estava saborosa, se bem que o muesli no iogurte não foi bem do meu agrado, como se estivesse muito tostado. Mas gostos pessoais à parte estava tudo bem. O meu problema prende-se com a higiene. Não só a mesa foi limpa com o guardanapo seco como o meu prato estava sujo pelo que mandei trocar. O outro prato estava partido mas já não quis reclamar. O problema foi que os copos de sumo estavam também sujos com o que parecia batom e não sei mais o quê, pode-se ver parte disso na foto. Assim, pelo preço que praticam e o atendimento/higiene não posso dar mais que 3 e não penso voltar brevemente. Os croissants são bons, mas não é algo que por si só me faça voltar.

Um espaço muito agradável, no entanto muito caro para o português médio, o que deixa só uma opção para turistas, penso que poderiam melhorar os valores para manter a clientela o ano todo e não sazonalmente, uma opção que terá de vir dos proprietários do mesmo, mas na minha humilde opinião seria a correcta, de resto pouco estacionamento em volta, bom atendimento e rapidez colmatam a minha avaliação de 3 estrelas.

Good place to start your day with a nice breakfast. Service is really nice. There is also a menu Card in english. There are a lot of local people. Environment is also very interesting. You can sit outside as well as inside and it is a really quite place near the city Center. Would come here again.

RE HOURS: on days they are open until 8, they close the outdoor seating at 7pm, and they close the kitchen at 6pm. That was not made clear on google maps or Facebook, or even after sitting & ordering outside at 6:45 ..... But otherwise, I have been here many times & it is always a very lovely place with nice staff, and great pastry & lunch/brunch options.

For the second time here, I experienced a rude, arrogant and condescending (male) member of staff. There will not be a third time. Also not accepting credit cards in the modern World is insane. I note that both these issues have been mentioned by others as well.

Wonderful experience. Had lunch and then came back for breakfast! Pastries are made fresh. Speacials are representative of the area and allow enjoyment of the experience. Prices are very good and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!

Sehr leckere Croissants und Backwaren, Kaffee und das Frühstück ist etwas teuer und nicht so besonders. Gerade beim Frühstück wird z.B. die Butter und Nutella abgepackt auf den Tisch gepackt. Sehr empfehlen kann ich Razs Spezial - ein Croissant mit Tomaten, Käse und einem Spiegelei darauf, einfach nur lecker!!

Terrasse au soleil bien agréable et au calme (mais il est sans plus prudent de réserver pour être assuré d’y avoir une place). Le service n’a pas été très avenant mais nous avons eu toutes les attentions et réponses lors de nos sollicitations. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Mais ne vous attendez tout de même pas à manger d’aussi bon croissant qu’en France ;) Large choix. En somme, je dirai que c’est une valeur sure :) Attention : seule les cartes de débit portugaises sont acceptées. Sinon, paiement en liquide.

Just ordered a cofee and a danish pastry after visiting the Museo de Arte Antigua. Felt like home instantly. Saw some breakfast and brunch dishes pass by. Looked awesome. A quiet, cool spot away from the rush and the tourist massification of the city.

A delicious breakfast at a very reasonable price. Being able to watch the croissants being baked in the back as you eat your breakfast is a real bonus too!

Carissimo....certo que o croissant é do best mas não justifica os preços praticados.

Jorge it's an exceptional manager & host. The young ladies are each very helpful and attentive, some of them even funny and go the extra mile. My mocha, basket of assorted breads and salmon were of great quality and delicious! The BEST BREAKFAST I had in Lisbon!

The food is great and it's good value. The setting is nice, with a bit of a rustic atmosphere. One thing that was a bother is that you can only pay cash or with a Portuguese card. For a place that caters so much to tourists, it's an odd thing to do.

El menjar no esta malament, tot fet a mà i al moment. Molt bons els sucs de fruita. El que mereix un premi és el tracte de les cambreres, la noia jove amb cabell arrissat ens ha fet molt bones recomanacions i ha tingut la paciència d'explicar-nos alguns dels plats.

We had a good sandwich and salad here as it was close to the Art Antigua gallery. Prices are average for central Lisbon i.e. Expensive for what it is but compared to other places at least it is all fresh, well prepared and good quality. Would recommend.

We've had breakfast here since our bnb was around the corner. Great place with seats both inside and outside, and kind staff!

The pain au chocolat is very heavy and the chocolate low grade. The scrambled eggs were too moist. The setting is nice but all in all it's really overpriced.

Recomendable. Panes no muy variados pero si especiales, como el se algarrobas o de higos. También está bien para desayunar.

Bom brunch, produtos frescos e saborosos com bastante cuidado na apresentação. O serviço apesar de não ser muito eficaz é simpático e atencioso. Como conclusão, apesar da qualidade o preço é um pouco elevado para o oferecido. Compreende-se quando o chamam de Tourist trap, quando uma água de 50cl custa 2,5€. Bastante acima do que é a média nacional. Numa segunda visita comi um croissant com doce de amêndoa e um sumo de frutos vermelhos, que veio num copo de 20cl. Sinceramente demasiado caro para o produto oferecido.

We came here because it was close to where we were staying and couldn't be happier. The whole place was very rustic, the staff was nice and the food delicious. We tried one of the brunch menus for two and it tastes as good as it looked.

Stopped by before we could check into our AirBnb. Great atmosphere with very intimate seating. We got the “natural” brunch and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in some time. The yogurt/granola and fresh squeezed OJ were fantastic. Also very affordable!!

Great food! BUT the staff is super rude ruined the whole experience... All my friends had awful experience with the staff specially with the owner of the place. As we sat down they already gave us an awful look... When we proceeded to order the first lady who served us didn't have patience at all she left us about 3 times in the middle of our order while we were speaking to her. She seem to dislike us so much she sent another waitress, then the second waitress rushed us to chose something so much that 2 out of the 4 people gave up on ordering food and only got drinks... Props to the chef the food was great but then once again when wanted to order something else we couldn't find any of the staff for a while and I decided to look outside the restaurant and most of them were outside smoking. We gave up on ordering more and just asked for the bill we paid and left the money on the table as the staff was gone again and we couldn't find them. Never going back and I do not recommend this place.

Simplesmente não passo mais nem na porta. Sentamos na mesa as 21:30, fizemos o pedido e no meio da refeição, o DONO nos expulsou do restaurante. Uma refeição em família virou um pesadelo. Tivemos que colocar o resto para a viagem pois não esperou acabar de comer. Saímos dali com gritos e palavras feias do DONO do restaurante dizendo que não temos consideração com os funcionários pelo horário de funcionamento. DEPLORÁVEL!

This is a great place for a lazy breakfast, brunch or even a late afternoon snack. Their croissants are definitely worth the visit! Try to avoid it during busy hours because the space is limited. Personal tip: Pass by around 19:30 if you want to buy a freshly baked alfarroba bread ;)

Great food!! Small space and a bit pricey. It can be hard to find a table, but it’s understandable given their amazing scones and croissants. They also have brunch and wine and tea and natural juices. I liked it but feel I need to plan around “rush” hour if I want to find a seat and relax.

Ótimo local para lanches e pequenos-almoços, apesar de muitas vezes estar cheio devido à popularidade. Aconselho a experimentar todos os bolos e doces que têm, mas aconselho vivamente a experimenatr os croissant's, os pain au chocolait, os pães de leite, os pães de forma e os croissant's de amêndoas que têm recheio de maçã e canela.

Thoroughly enjoyed my brunch at La Boulangerie. An immense amount of food was presented. Well worth the 20 euros for the Brunch. Which is only served on Sundays. Freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolat. Fresh fruit, scrambled eggs. The full enchilada! The owner is a very well spirited man. Always helpful and smiling. Well worth it.

SCROLL DOWN FOR ENGLISH VERSION Horrível "boulangerie" Eu estive neste restaurante algumas vezes porque é logo ao lado de onde moro. Eu ainda não consegui decidir o que é pior, a comida ou o serviço. Primeiramente, a Boulangerie está em um local muito bonito, com um terraço ensolarado. No primeiro dia que comi lá, descobri que o cardápio do terraço é mais caro que o cardápio dentro do restaurante. Quando você paga 8,50 euros por um sanduíche porque você quer comer no terraço, eu espero no mínimo bom produtos: um grande sanduíche com com uma salada e batatas (salada e batatas custam +3,50 euros, e não são batatas fritas, mas chips de um saquinho). Mas não... é um pedaço de pão cortado em 2, com 3 pequenas fatias de mussarela e 3 pedaços de tomate seco dentro. Sem molho, nem mesmo um pedaço de salada dentro do sanduíche... Por 8,50 euros! Em França, ou até mesmo na Holanda, você pode comprar um sanduíche muito bom de frango, molhos, saladas, por menos de 3 euros. O ATENDIMENTO E UMA PIADA. Quando você paga extra para sentar no terraço, o mínimo que o restaurante DEVE fazer é deixar um garçom à disposição dos clientes durante todo o tempo. Os garçons ficam constantemente dentro do estabelecimento, rindo e fazendo tudo menos o serviço. Hoje eu esperei pela conta de 2 cafés por 30 minutos. Tinham apenas 3 mesas no terraço, contando a nossa. O garçom trouxe comidas e bebidas para outra mesa. E depois a conta da mesa vizinha a nossa. Não a nossa. Apenas quando me levantei para ir embora, porque não aguentava mais esperar, o garçom veio correndo com a conta. É difícil trazer um pedaço de papel? Além disso durante toda uma semana eles não tinham rosbife, como prometido no cardápio. Todos os dias eles pegaram nossos pedidos (com rosbife) para vir dizer depois que não tinham mais. Nenhuma comunicação entre a cozinha e o atendimento, característica de um restaurante ruim. ENGLISH Outrageous "boulangerie" I have been to this restaurant a few times because it's next to where I live. Every Time I cannot put my finger on what is worse between the food and the service. First of all the boulangerie is located in a very beautiful little place with a very nice sunny terrace. The first day I came I found out the terrace had a more expensive menu then inside. When you pay 8e for a sandwich because you want to eat it outside, I at least expect some nice products, nice size sandwich with a side dish. But no... It was a piece of bread cut in two with 3 tiny pieces of mozarella and 3 dried tomatoes... No sauces, not even a bit of salad... For 8e! In Frence you can buy a very nice chicken sandwich for 3e Max. THE SERVICE IS A JOKE! When you pay extra to sit on the terrace at least keep a waiter at the disposition of the clients at all time!!! The waiters are inside constantly, laughing and pretty much doing everything but their job. Today I waited for the bill of 2 coffes for half an hour... There was only 3 tables, counting ours. The waiter brought the food and drinks to the table next to us. Then he brought one bill of the neighbours!! Not ours! Is it that hard to bring two pieces of paper at once!? Two time we also tried to order their rosebeef and they were out every single day since more then a week!! What a joke!! There's no communication in between the kitchen and the service, characteristic of a horrible restaurant.

They say is the best croissant in Lisbon and I don't know if it's true but it is very tasty and different form usual buttered one's available. Give it a try! Outside tables are very nice with a view of the square. Service is good and fast.

Excellent baked goods and decent coffee (Very good by local mediocre standards). Friendly staff and a nice setting.

The decoration was very interesting, the environment cozy, the staff helpful and both the croissant and pan au chocolat delicious. Be prepared to spend a lot though!

Food was good, but unfortunately terribly lazy staff and horrible prices totally ruined our breakfast. We had to wait really long for everything, waiters forgot about our orders, then they were to busy to collect our money after the meal.

Bon mais cher pour ce que c'est. Salade impressionnante mais assiette pas profonde donc faible quantité. Mini SuperBock à 2€ et pas de pain alors que ça s'appelle la boulangerie. Bof, on a marché longtemps pour y arriver, un peu déçu. Service convenable en temps, vite servi, ne prennent pas la CB. Pizza même prix qu'en France. Burger idem mais ont l'air appétissant.

Logo à entrada ficámos encantados com o espaço e com os colaboradores, muito simpáticos. Pedimos um brunch e estava tudo ótimo. De salientar os croissants que são uma delícia, exatamente como os queremos, bem estaladiços por fora mas nada secos. Espaço com decoração vintage. Sem dúvida um local a voltar em breve.

직원이 친절한건.... 저는 잘 모르겠구요. 제 주문 받으신 분은 되게 불친절하시던데 포르투갈어 하는 사람보다 영어 하는 사람들을 더 좋아하시나봐요... 아메리카노 있길래 혹시나 아이스는 가능한가 물어봤지만 역시 대부분의 포르투갈 일반 카페처럼 없는 메뉴라 그런지 얼음 2개 뜨거운 커피에 넣어줬네요. 실시간으로 얼음이 사라지는 현상을 보며 뜨겁지도 차갑지도 않은 미지근한 커피를 마셔봤네요. 그냥 있는 메뉴 먹어야겠다는 교훈을 얻었어요.

This place was amazing, you can sit out side and the best crossiant and pan au chocolate. The service was friendly and helpful. The price consistent with the quality of the food. I would recommend breakfast here on your visit to Lisbon!

The croissants will make you second guess why you live for anything else. They are perfect in every way. Also the service was great, and the setting on the terrace is beautiful.

Really cute breakfast and lunch spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area looks over a small plaza. The food is typical but food breakfast items from croissants to eggs. The fruit juices are delicious.

We had a great breakfast here. Friendly English speaking staff and fast service. And the food was very nice as well. Fresh juice, good coffee, home made croissants, bread with butter and jam, yoghurt with granola and scrambled eggs.

Nice cafe with friendly staff, and outdoor seating overlooking a courtyard fountain. The croissants are fluffy and flaky, with a slightly crunchy glaze on top. A new experience for me that I wish I could find in America!

Great place to eat and the brunxh is exceptional. Outside eating was fab. Some stools a little uncomfortable though. Also having had brunch twice in our week holiday the portion was a bit inconsistent across the two visits.

The BEST!!! My mom, sister and I went here every day we were in Lisbon because it was SO good and the staff were WAY friendly. It was cute too. Can't rate it highly enough :D

Delícia de café da manhã e atendimento atencioso!!!

Apelativo, come um ar jovem e confortável, o serviço não faz jus ao aspecto. De um atendimento deplorável por parte de quem serviu, uma falta de vontade em ser acessível e informar de bom grado o cliente quanto à oferta. Passamos à comida em si, que vai desde um humilde croissant com "nutella" (não se enganem), até a um cappuccino com uma espuma invisível e sem leite de amêndoa: café deslavado com água.

Óptimos croissants num ambiente muito agradável e um atendimento a condizer.

Local muito simpático com um excelente serviço e produtos de boa qualidade. Aconselhado para um pequeno almoço, um lanche ou um brunch.

No dia em que fui, houve uma falha elétrica pelo que tivemos de nós cingir a bolos e sumos. Os croissants são ótimos! O espaço é bonito ao estilo vintage que por aí graça. Bastante caro!

Excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is fresh, creative, and delicious. Try the burger with camembert, almonds, and honey.

Local pretensioso, com comida a armar em Gourmet, de sabor doce e enjoativo. Uma sopa fria de melão docíssima e de textura de farinha maizena. Uma tarte de alho francês e frango razoável mas algo sensaborona acompanhada de batatas de pacote e alface murcha. Uma piza de massa fina de pimentos e salame um pouco seca e algo enjoativa. Uma sobremesa de gelado com 4 mini bolachas com doce a armar.

Visitei no final do dia (17h) e já não tinham muitas opções de lanche (apenas croissants, pão esgotafo) mas o serviço foi simpático.

After a worthwhile visit to the Ancient Art Museum, this is the perfect place to be and relax. Food is so tasty: I recommend the croissants (the best in town and simply to die for!), the orange juice and the bread! The service is nice and quick. If you're looking for a cool place with a local atmosphere and great food, I wouldn't hesitate! It's for couples and families!
