This little bar is just great! The female bartender was so nice and sweet, and the best of all; SMOKING ALOWED!! We just loved it. <3

Popped in for a quick pint. Interesting decor. Good music. Lovely barmaid who treated us with free snacks. You can still smoke inside which for a non smoker can be an issue. Still, it's a piece of history and you can support by having a beer. Why wouldn't you?

Nice interior, but overpriced comparing to other places in Faro. Basic beer 400ml cost 4€. Also smoking inside is allowed.

Paula is a wonderful host at this little gem of a bar, excellent music and fun and quirky company means i will be back!

Great, authentic looking pub in the old centre of Faro. Barmaid was really nice, providing us with little snacks with our drinks. We were also treated with a shot on the house as we left. Only letdown was the fact that smoking is still allowed inside, which is a little old fashioned anno 2018.

L'endroit est cosy et sympa avec une déco de pub de marin. L'ambiance musicale rock nous a bien plus. Le staff parle anglais comme une vache espagnole, ils comprennent un mot sur deux et en général pas le nom de leurs coktails : la jeune serveuse (tres mignonne) a paniqué quand j'ai demandé un 'kiss". Les coktails ont juste rien à voir avec leur recette habituelle, la meilleur description possible de leur long isand est "mucomyste à la vodka". On sort du bar soigné... On a aussi eu des shot vodka+eau. Pour l'instant c'est la meilleur soirée des vacances, chaque nouvelle commande a été à la fois plus drôle et plus décevante que nos pronostic les plus pessimiste. Je conseille ce bar "for the lulz".

Didn't stay long, but I really liked the nautical decor. This is a small and cozy place with music provided from a stereo system behind the bar. There are lots of other places to dance or enjoy live music, but if you are looking for a quiet drink, this is the place!

Smells like a pub . Oddly playing a 2010 megamix where they play about 10 seconds of each song each time , very peculiar. They speak English but couldn’t quite understand ‘long island’. Pronounce it ‘long is land ‘ . Wasn’t a Long Island that came out (edit : whatever they served me was the worst cocktail I’ve ever had double Edit : and a ‘Long Island ‘ is NOT a Long Island Ice tea )

SCAM WARNING In the Ancora bar in Faro Oct 2012, had my camera stolen from my jacket by a Russian girl and her Ukrainian friend who distracted me and and my friends whilst the Russian girl jostled me. The barman was clearly in on the whole racket, when I tried to speak to him to say I knew she had stolen my camera he was very off-hand and muttered 'Your camera is not here', though he knew the two girls by name and said they had been regulars for ten years. He was not helpful to the police either when they arrived, the two girls had vanished. If you are in Faro watch out for these two, dont lose your holiday photos like I did. Plenty of nice places to go for a drink in Faro without setting foot in here.
