Called there one teatime after a day on beach and a lovely meal staff great too took time to chat bar over looking beach

The food is really good and the music is amazing the people that work there are so kind I love this place the best member of staff that work there is Lorraine she really makes you feel welcome and will try her best to accommodate you. Overall well worth the visit.

This pub has dramatically gone downhill since opening in 2012. The seats are uncomfortable and the live band is ear-piercingly loud. Rocco the Boxer dog used to be an attraction but now doesn't seem to be around. Also, the food was very disappointing. If you want an Irish pub, go to the nearby Ireland's Eye.

Comedian irish singer on, was bloody brilliant!! food was really good, well priced, great atmosohere, lovely friendly staff, beautiful setting overlooking prai de rocha beach. Fully recommended

We visited here twice actually. First night for food and the fish and chips and burger were both great actually. Stopped in the next night again for a drink and a round of pool. We already had drinks and I was about to break when the bartender came up behind me and pulled the cue backwards out of my hand. Naturally, I was surprised and turned around. He then stepped around me and began pushing the balls into the pockets. I quickly became upset and asked what he was doing. He then told me that we couldn’t play because live music would be starting in 15 minutes. I told him that was plenty of time and we would be done by then, but he ignored me and began to leave with the cue sticks. I stepped in and asked for my euro back for the game, which he did give me. I know it’s a small thing, but it was terrible customer service and treatment.

Starters were terrible, soup of the day was at best non descript and the home made soda bread was a slice of pan.
The Nachos were a packet of doritos sprinkled with cheese and microwaved for 30 seconds.
The fish was good but the hand cut chips were straight from the freezer bag, and if you wanted tartare sauce it was extra.
The wine arrived at the table opened so its origin was questionable.

me and my husband went there for Christmas Eve.2018 the Staff are briliant but the band that was the entertainment for the night. was very insulting regarding me and my husband. I have a facial problem . that makes me look a certain way. I was not born like it. the singer of the band changed a song for his own entertainment. with very nasty comments of his own. if he lived in uk I would be getting a solicitor involved. nobody was laughing at the song he was singing. it made him look like a nasty pxxt.

The place is nice inside with a bright music and lights at night. You can see the ocean from inside or out in the terrace. The bar and the restaurant section is divided and the waiter asked to try the drinks many times even when we said no. The food is not that delicious. The steak is chewy and the tofu noodles was too sweet. It might go well with some drinks but the menu itself was a three star

Absolutely loved this bar, day and night. It was the one place my boyfriend and I visited every day throughout our whole holiday. The only reason I have only given four stars is the entertainment. Because we visited every night we experienced the same band, telling the same jokes, playing the same songs and in the exact same order every night. Overall lovely place and the food was delicious. Would recommend!

Wollten eigentlich das Steak auf dem heißen Stein haben. Das geht aber nur auf vor Bestellung. Das restliche Essen auf der Karte (Burger und chicken Nudeln) war ok. Bedienung ist freundlich und spricht sehr gutes Englisch. Das Lokal am sich erinnert eher an US lokale (country Musik usw) man sitzt auf Plastikstühlen
Alles zusammen war es ok, kein Highlight. Würden aber auch nicht noch mal hingehen

Leider sind wir hier erst kurz vor Küchenschluss eingetroffen. Die Suppe hat nicht mehr für alle gereicht. Die Bedienung war super flott, wegen dem Feierabend... Kaum war ein Teller leer, wurde er auch schon abgeräumt. Lieber so, als wenn alles ewig steht. Nur fühlten wir uns dadurch ein wenig rausgeschmissen. Daher nur 4 Sterne. Das Essen war sonst lecker, und das Tagesessen auch noch günstig. Der Schoko-Käse-Kuchen war ein Genuss.
Das Besondere hier ist natürlich die allabendliche Livemusik, mit echter Band. Ich hätte gerne noch ein paar Drinks genommen und der Musik weiter gelauscht, aber leider war ich nicht alleine.

Staff friendly enough food ok but can only speak from experience don't get the specials of the day. Had 2 and couldn't stomache the Sunday roast, who dishes up turkey swimming in beef gravy

Went here yesterday for lunch it was very nice. Went back today was disgusted we sat there for ages waiting to be served nobody come to us. The tables hadn't been cleared there was dirty glasses and plates on every table even horrible tea bags left in the ash tray. We walked out in the end

What a friendly bunch of staff. A very warm welcome. Food was absolutely delicious and plenty of it.YUMMY. looking out over the beautiful sea and coast line. Definitely worth a visit.

It's a grand place to eat. We've been there 4 times in 5 days so far. All the food is really tasty and good value, and of course a glass of the black stuff.

Wow what a night we had last night... very relaxed and staff are great... band was fantastic .had a laugh with everyone... best band we have seen in a very long time. DO NOT walk past this place ...pop in for a visit and you will get a great cork welcome... well done the guys in the band...

We were in the Irish Rover every day last week, great pub, great people, bar staff were brilliant,( one from Dundee and my wee pal fae Cork) views are breathtaking, and food was amazing, I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area xx

Very friendly place the chicken curry half rice half chips is lovely and the cottage pie is lovely and they are nice and hot and the coffee cheese cake is made by a local lady and is absolutely gorgeous xx

I just called to ask if Roast dinner was served for vegetarians ...I have a stomach disorder illness which I had to stop eating meat 3 years ago not really by choose gentleman who answered call was very insensitive and near enough laughed and said that I could have it without meat and gravy and just the veggies...wow.wont be going there now ...what bad customer service.!!

O som estava um pouco alto para quem quer estar resguardado dentro do bar e tivemos de ficar na esplanada com o tempo um pouco fresco.
Mas estes pubs são mesmo assim.

Great place to enjoy a meal and or drink with views across the beach. Enjoyable fresh Food something for everyone. They do excellent specials for €9.50 including a large beer or a glass of wine. Eaten there a few times now. Would definitely recommend.

Location is good, staff were friendly. Had 2 breakfasts, absolutely brutal! How you cant get a breakfast right in a restaurant is beyond me! Even the toast was terrible! Coffee is filtered and undrinkable! Wont be back.

The Irish Rover has been a staple place that I go to during my annual trips to Algarve. The amazing staff are always there to help you and make any beverages that you want (even some things that they normally don't). Their suggestions for menu items are on point. The place is clean and welcoming, and one of the first places on the strip to go to (depending which location you're coming from). I always have a blast every time I go there. If you're looking for entertainment as well, there's a live band that generally plays from 10pm to midnight. After that, generally you will hear karaoke from customers, or one of the Irish Rover's very own waitress singing. All in all, this is a must stop for any visitors to Praia da Rocha. Pictured is the beautiful view from the outside seating.

This place made my holiday. Irish Lead singer of the band got everyone involved, changing lyrics to songs, just pure entertainment. Myself and a friend saw the band twice after seeing them as they were brilliant.

We had 2 medium rare fillet steaks with rice and salad. Total cost was 36 euro and it was well worth the price. Had a lovely bottle of wine to go with it as well as a garlic bread starter but I can't remember the cost.
Sports were on the TV screens and as soon as that was finished it was straight into a live band.
Excellent night out all round and highly recommend if in Praia da Rocha for your holidays.

Lovely place!!! Full of friendly people and the staff are so nice. Karaoke, cheap drinks and a great location next to the beach! Definitely recommend especially for pre-drinks.
