Not that tasty. The food is very fresh but it was quite salty. Very Friendly service and great seating area (including a beautiful rooftop patio)
Order your food on the first floor, and drinks on the second level.

I'll start of by saying that the restaurant is very well located and beautifully decorated but the hole concept of not having printed menus, and making the customers go up to second floor in order to choose the drinks and deserts is not quite my thing.
The natural juices were good although for 4€ if they weren't it would be very strange. The artesenal beers too.
The food was also good.
They have a good view which makes the prices go up, obviously.

Perfect staff and ambiance, food, while very good, is simple and could be a little bit bolder. Roasted potatoes could have been with a mustard sauce instead of rosemary. Scalloped potatoes could have been with crunchy coconut instead of bread crumbs. Just play with the flavors for a little more pop.
Just my 2c and opinion. Clearly it's a great restaurant and I recommend it.

Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten bij House of Wonders. Alles is zeer goed op smaak. Dineer je hier? Dan krijg je een visueel menu te zien. Wij konden kiezen uit drie gerechten, dat wordt aangevuld door een heerlijk buffet. Ik had echter wel het idee dat ook het hoofdgerecht vooraf wordt geprepareerd en vervolgens wordt opgewarmd in de oven. Dat doet overigens niet af aan de kwaliteit.

"La casa delle meraviglie" sita nella zona centrale di Cascais, e' una casetta dipinta di infiniti colori, gioia per gli occhi. Ambientazione molto suggestiva con decori svariati ed inusuali. La location dispone di un comodo e tranquillo terrazzo all'aperto, sul tetto, dove gustare una prima colazione, pranzo o cena. Pietanze vegetariane/vegane e non, succhi di frutta o verdure fresche preparati con ottimi prodotti locali di qualita'. I prezzi sono nella media per la citta' di Cascais, che di default e' piu' cara. L'unica pecca di questo posto e' l'orario di apertura delle 10.00 non ideale, a mio parere, per la prima colazione. Consigliato!

The location is a 5 stars, but the prices too high and not clear or specified since there's only a 'virtual' menu, service was so and so. Would definitely go back there in spring but just for the view.

Beautiful veggie dishes, and delicious too! Fresh fruit juices, 4 E each seems a bit high, but they are totally fresh, not watered down, and a decent sized glass, so that said, probably a fair price. Lovely places to sit, patio, deck & inside. And really helpful, nice gals working, who patiently described each dish for us. And portions are decent sized. You do have to spend a bit more to get tasty veggies in Portugal, just have to accept that! Meat, rice & chips are cheaper!

Bar adorable, con un patio y una terraza muy bien cuidadas. El menú es vegetariano y hacen unos zumos de frutas muy ricos. Si pasas por Cascais es una parada fuera del mundo turístico que se agradece. La terraza de arriba tiene vistas al puerto.

Herrliches vegetarisches Restaurant mit Räumen in mehreren Gebäuden und auch davor. Die Chefin schaut öfter selbst nach dem Rechten. Das Essen war super gut, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Delicious! I had the mezzes and requested it be vegan. No problems and very tasty. I enjoyed the green juice as well. The rooftop view is beautiful, too! I’ll be back here again.

Endroit atypique où se dégage un sentiment d'apaisement. On peut s'y installer sur le toit-terrasse et profiter du soleil. La nourriture végétalienne est bonne et les serveurs et gérants sont vraiment au top, dynamiques et souriants.
La sangria y est exquise malgré son prix.

Trouvé par hasard, on adore ce lieu à cascais. Ils font des jus de fruits frais excellents quoique un peu cher. De plus la déco est sympa et le terrasse en haut offre une belle vue et permet de passer un bon moment de détente. Le lieu se trouve près de la rue piétonne principale et juste à coté de la petite église.

A welcome break from the meat and fish heavy Portuguese cuisine, this place has a variety of nicely prepared vegetarian dishes. When we went, the deal was four small hot dishes to share between two, followed by a buffet of hot and cold dishes.
I usually avoid buffets but there were some pleasant dishes on offer. The table service hot food was more flavoursome than these.
The staff are all very friendly and nice. The flavours of the buffet food could be more developed - some lacked depth and too many of them used various cherry tomatoes.
All in all, I value what they are trying to achieve and I enjoyed the experience. Smells of beautiful spices when you walk in too!

Magique! Buffet végétalien à volonté, coloré, varié, excellent, qui change tous les jours, le tout pour Eur 14.-, le vin blanc est excellent, le cheese cake est à tomber.
L'endroit est central, coloré, agréablement décoré, cerise sur le gâteau, un roof top magnifique!
Les serveuses sont polyglottes, sympathiques et souriantes.
Merci pour ce lieu unique, une référence à Lisbonne!

Avoid, saw an appetising rooftop bar, unfortunately that was only available if eating, had a drink instead. Terrible white wine and automatically served a pint... need I say more.

Nous nous sommes régalé, nos enfants un peu moins (pas très légumes).
Oui dans se restaurant vous ne mangerez que des légumes moi amateur de viande je n'est pas était déçu .
Les boissons fait maison sont un pure régale .

Estranho critério de utilização do roof top e da esplanada térrea. O empregado diz uma coisa, depois o dono diz outra, e enquanto isso o cliente anda a fazer figura de parvo. Já para não falar de não ser possível fazer o pedido nas mesas, tendo que ir dentro do restaurante e andar a perguntar pelas coisas porque nada é claro.
Um exemplo de como se pode estragar um excelente restaurante através de uma má gestão e presunção do dono. Uma pena. Lugar bonito e ideia interessante mas não deverei voltar.

Excellent food . We are not vegetarian. But t hat made no difference. We had a fabulous midday lunch and two night later a great evening meal. The service was good and the staff very nice. We would highly recommend visiting .

Good veggie food, excellent service and the place has an own unique character. Compared with other restaurants, it was a bit pricy (20 euro per person). Save some space for the cakes, they are highly recommendable.

Wir teilten uns eine kleine Auswahl verschiedener kleiner Gerichte. Man kann sich an einem Buffet diverse Salate nehmen. Dafür, dass kein Fleisch dabei war, wares erstaunlich lecker.
Leider muss irgendetwas nicht mehr ganz frisch gewesen sein, so dass es eine sehr unangenehme Nacht war - mit mehrmaligem Comeback des verspeisten.
Man zahlt recht viel, da man pro Person zahlt.

Wir waren auf Empfehlung von Freunden dort. Es war alles sehr schön angerichtet und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, wenn auch etwas tollpatschig.
Allerdings waren die vielen Gerichte alle gleich gewürzt, und zwar mit Unmengen Koriander und irgendetwas muss schlecht gewesen sein, da wir uns beide in der folgenden Nacht mehrmals übergeben mussten.
Werden wohl nicht mehr hin gehen, aber was trotzdem zu empfehlen ist, ist die schöne Dachterrasse mit Sangria!

Food is nice, but it took them 40-50 minutes to prepare our dishes (a piece of quiche with salad).
Also the whole ordering process is unnecessarily complicated: you order the food downstairs, but have to go upstairs to order the drinks. But the tables are downstairs. But you have to go upstairs again to pay the bill...

Great attentive service, good prices on sangria pitches. Was expecting more with all the hype that I have read and was recommended whilst visiting Cascais.
They have a good vegan menu, however it did not look that appealing to me. More variety of other non vegan dish choices should definitely be considered.
Amazing views of Cascais from the rooftop and close proximity to the seas side/Marina.

We had dinner here. For a vegetarian restaurant we (vegans) were underwhelmed by the variety of foods available. They had wide variety of of premade salads (which were good) and a handful of hot vegetable dishes, which surprisingly did not include legumes of any kind - no chickpeas, no lentils, no hummus, no tofu, no tempeh, no seitan...and nuts didn't seem to be featured, either as garnish or in sauces or cheeses. This left is feeling, like where's the main dish? It seemed like a bunch of veggie sides smashed together on a menu. Not sure how anyone who is actually vegetarian or vegan could sustain on this food. If only they offered some of the above mentioned plant foods they could really have a fantastic offering! The atmosphere was nice and cheerful, and the staff were very friendly. We really wanted to love this place.

Un endroit incroyable à bien des égards. Un cadre original et varié, un roof top des plus agréables et une décoration tellement harmonisée avec l'ambiance et le style de cuisine proposé. Vous avez deviné ... j'ai adoré ! Les plats proposés en menu "vivant" sont un véritable plaisir pour les yeux et les papilles. Encore merci Anna pour ces bons moments passés dans ce lieu de vie.

It's amazing. The food, the staff, the place. Great and delicious food although I'm not vegetarian, me and my friend went there 5-times in our 4 days stay in Cascais :) it isn't cheap but here nothing is (except fast food). Very satisfied with whole experience! 10/10

House of Wonders was first mentioned to me by my brother, maybe last summer, but because it was a bit out hand, we just never took the time to visit. Until today, that is. It is worth mentioning that my brother is not vegetarian, much less vegan, quite the opposite! But he mentioned it as some place worth getting to know, something that rose above the surface, where you can eat some good food and spend a good time.
That's exactly what we had today, plus some nice fruit juice, on a calm weekday afternoon. Anna is just a wonderful host, speaks every living language, and makes everyone feel at home. And that's the real wonder in a house of wonders.

Confusing experience. Beautiful place and nice food, but they have different areas within several floors to each of those you need to go and order your food or drinks separately. Stuff is not coordinating you well. I came for dinner, kitchen wasn’t ready yet and they sent me to the roof top to wait. At the roof top there are only alcoholic drinks. And if you want non-alcoholic drinks, you need to go to another building to one more floor up and order them yourself. After waiting for 1 hour, nobody called me for dinner, they totally forgot about it. I ordered “starter” at another building from them while was waiting and then simply left. It was quiet expensive also for a quiet simple starter and juice (16 eur). Nobody even offered you water. Many good things about this place (great exterior, interesting food options), but experience was not satisfying at all. Wish they improve on this, so others will be taken care of better.

So I think I’ve found heaven... Lisbon is a loud place, especially in August and especially everywhere close to the beaches. But the minute you enter this place, you’re home. It’s quiet, peaceful, the food is good and healthy for both your body and your mind, the staff is absolutely amazing and so welcoming, I’m pretty sure every single person there thanked us for coming and wished a lovely day. They have a variety of already made place so you have to choose one and they make it for you. They explain you what which one is and the ones that can be made vegan.

Great food, great drinks. Good vibe and nice staff. Not one of the typical tourist restaurants but still very accessible. Can't compare the prices with other restaurants in Cascais as we were only here one day, but it was a bit more than restaurants in Lisbon. Worth the money though.

The food is on another level of tasty. Not only is it healthy, but it's also all vegetarian, and most of it vegan and gluten free too. The staff is friendly, the location ideal, the decoration beautiful, and the whole thing is incredible value for money. You get some warm mezze to try and share, as well as then being able to help yourself to an all you can eat buffet. I would highly recommend it!

Came here with a friend for the first time, and definitely the last! The food was tasteful and good presentation but then when paying they charged two plates. We were recommended, and served, only one hot plate and one buffet but charged for two of both! Said that it was the number of people that counted, but didn't get served what was charged for! And in the receipt they put 1 with the price of both so yeah, scammers! Beware!!!!

A Place that's Good for the Soul
This wonderful restaurant is full of beautiful colors, rich flavors, and cheerful people. The atmosphere here is immediately welcoming and the staff greet people with warm smiles.
Amazingly, there's actually 3 locations here that can accommodate various occasions. There's a large terrace for outdoor dining, a cozy indoor location for easy access to the buffet, and an upstairs bar/rooftop where you can enjoy a robust sangria or homemade cake while you look out over the coastal town.
Upon my arrival, the staff were immediately welcoming and explained how the buffet worked. You could fill one LARGE bowl with all of the options available. These ranged from brightly-colored salads and grilled veggies to pastas and other well-seasoned grains. Everything was positively delicious. I didn't even know what a number of the sauces and vegetables were, but the freshness and care that went into each dish was unmistakable. These were the sorts of foods that you just feel good eating and then afterwords feel both satiated and refreshed.
Observing a large party that was also dining in the restaurant, I saw nothing but smiles and laughter. The owner was regularly present. She not only actively worked to see that everyone was served and happy but also personally greeted and thanked each of customer as they left.
This is the sort of place that resonates well with the local community feeling of Cascais. Unlike a lot of the central restaurants that are there just to sell you something and send you on your way, House of Wonders embodies the spirit of wanting you to simply enjoy yourself. A house of wonders, indeed. I'll definitely be paying a visit when I'm next in the area and hope to catch a sunset from the roof.

We thought the food was a little bland and a few too many raw dishes. Great presentation but a little lacking in variety and nothing very substantial (we didn't even see any potatoes let alone any tofu or seitan). The staff were nice and it has good atmosphere.

Staff will insult you behind your back if you're a non heteronormative couple ️ . Food is ok, but not worth what they charge; not generous enough with the amount of hummus, it's basically just a spoonful. The sangria tastes overpoweringly of cinnamon, which is nice —on Christmas Eve
The rooftop terrace is really nice if it's not windy weather.

The restaurant is still one of the best vegetarian places in Cascais however there are less options now and the use of herbs and spices is not as strong as before. Perhaps they changed chefs (?) I will be going back and I dearly hope the food pops again.
Early 2017: One of the best vegetarian restaurants I have ever been to. The chefs infuse blends of herbs and spices into the food which elevates the taste so much. The concept is also quite appealing as it is farm to plate, fresh. No tofu or anything of the like here; nothing processed.

O espaço é genial. O conceito super. Fomos super bem recebidos e atendidos. A comida era ótima. O único senão é que nós foi servida frio. Mesmo que seja essa forma eu acho que a comida em geral merece ser servida quente. Excelentes sumos!

Great vegetarian restaurant.
I was here for dinner, and I believe they have new menu every day.
You can choose between buffet + hot dish or buffet + hot dish + three small hot dishes. I went for the biggest set and everything tasted just great!
The stuff was also very friendly and helpful.

Exceptional restaurant! The best vegan/vegetarian fare we've eaten in all of Europe! Diverse menu of hot and cold mezze, changes daily. Dessert was sensational too! Highly recommended for anyone in the Lisbon/Cascais area.

Although we are not strictly vegetarian, my wife and I love to lunch at House of Wonders. The menu changes daily and the dishes are always prepared so well and creatively. Not only is the food great (my wife loves their green and fruit drinks), but the rooftop area is a luxurious retreat from the busy tourist areas, with lovely views out onto Cascais Bay. Plus, speaking to the Dutch owner, I appreciate their efforts at sustainability -- locally sourced foods and they have managed to lower their waste down to 2% (as opposed to the 25 - 35% of many other restaurants in the area).

Food was good. Service needs improvement. We were told we shouldn't have coffee with our meal because it would ruin the taste in a passive aggressive tone. And then the same staff refused to cooperate to split the bill. Shame because the terrace is actually quite nice. Bad attitude managed to ruin a nice time.

A great vegetarian restaurant in Cascais. We had the cold buffet and hot plate selection down in the main restaurant - very tasty dishes with a variety of flavours. Then we went up to the roof terrace for desert and coffee! Great place with friendly staff who really care about providing interesting vegetarian food.

I’m not a veggie person but this restaurant surprised me. On top of the unique atmosphere that you will find here, either you eat inside or on the roof, you will have a great veggie meal. The food was very tasty and well served so you will get a great value here.
I also highly recommend their juices which are one of the greatest I have experienced.
Also we had one of their vegan cakes (blueberry/lime) which was awesome as well.
On top of everything the staff is great and super friendly

This is our highlight of Portugal. Best terrace ever. The food is simply amazing. Get the stuffed paprika and the sangria. The service is the best so far in Europe. Sehr nettes kleines vegetarisches Restaurant. Täglich wechselde Gerichte mit orientalischem Touch.
Sehr aufmerksame Bedienung, die selber das Konzept leben und bei Sonderwünschen ausserordentlich flexibel sind.
Ein wünschenswerter Gegensatz zu den sonst oftmals zu touristisch-orientierten Gaststätten.
Volle Punktzahl und ein Tipp auch für nicht vegie-affine Gäste.
Unbedingt aber auch mal die Terrasse auf dem "Roof Top" für einen kleinen Snack, einen Smoothie oder eine Tasse Kaffee besuchen!

Dette sted er overraskelsernes holdeplads! Fortræffelig vegetarmad - sagt af en 'ikke-vegetar'! Men det er indretningen, der overrasker! Aldrig har jeg set SÅ meget ragelse samlet på flere etager, som tilsammen danner ét stort kunstværk! Det er et eventyr at gå på opdagelse i omgivelserne! Man kan vælge at more sig kongeligt over alle de idéer, der kommer frem her - eller at blive forarget over alt det gamle lort! Vælg det første - du har aldrig haft en lignende oplevelse på en restaurant! Og hvis vejret er til det, kan du sidde på taget af huset og spise. Trappen op er i sig selv en balanceakt! Du bærer selv maden op.
