I was visiting the area, but all the restaurants I saw looked too trendy and sort of touristy for my mood, so I walked on until the simple, unpretentious vibe of this doorway called to me. The interior was clean and well lit, and the traditional menu sounded appealing. The man who waited on me was attentive and friendly, and thankfully the menu was in several languages. I had a bottle of vinho verde and a plate of beautifully crisp fried small mackerel with rice and salad for around €12. Prices were very reasonable, and my food was cooked just right, prepared with well judged seasoning and herbs and good fresh flavors. Perfect for when you’re in the mood for honest good food without fancy trappings.

I’ve found a gem! I stumbled across this restaurant looking for lunch when all the other restaurants I usually go to were closed. I was welcomed promptly and sat down with the typical Portuguese menu which was well priced. I picked the dourada grelada and received a delicious spread of food, I was just so happy. The flavours were amazing. Great service, great food and affordable prices. Now this will be one of my usual restaurants I go to! Recommended.

Pequeño y sencillo restaurante de comida tradicional portuguesa. El bacalhau a brás excelente y buenas sardinas asadas también, servidas con ensalada. Amabilidad y buen servicio. También es pastelería.

Très bon rapport qualité-prix ... pour moins de 20€ nous avons mangé des sardines et un excellent ‘bacalau à bras’ ! N’hésitez pas à y rentrer !

I stumbled across this restaurant by accident as it had started chucking it down outside. The place was empty when I went in so I wasn't expecting too much. I ended up with a cheap and extremely satisfying meal with big portion sizes, it was absolutely delicious, the codfish with fries and onions and the seafood with rice were both delightful topped up by a glass of vinho verde. The owner didn't have a word of English but he was so cheerful and friendly. Glad to have eaten here before it becomes really popular.

Pastelería estupenda para desayunar si estás cerca de la plaza Camoens. Pequeña y apretada pero con gran variedad de pastelería y bocadillos. Precios razonables. No se te ocurra ponerte en el camino del camarero

Nous recommandons, bonne cantine, plat copieux et très abordable, un patron très gentil. Un restaurant simple et très propre, on c'est régalés.
