Singers were great. Food lacked seasoning. Service was extremely bad. We were there tonight and the male waiter appeared nice to other people, but for whatever reason he chose to completely ignore us. It seemed like a burden any time we asked for anything. It took forever to even order drinks. Because of the poor service, we did not even want to contribute much to the place and only ordered one plate in addition to the appetizers they placed on our table. Very disappointing experience and the only bad experience we’ve had in Lisbon.

Très déçu par ce restaurant :
- Vin blanc maison des plus mauvais, semble être coupé avec une substance indescriptible.
- sans demander on t'apporte des tapas pour 18€.
- porc à la portugaise infâme.
-morue pas excellente
- très cher pour une pietre qualité.
Dommage car les chanteurs de fado étaient plutôt bons.
A éviter si vous êtes dans l'alfama.

Restaurant pour écouter du fado. Très bonne adresse autant pour les plats que pour l'animation . Attention de ne pas arriver trop tard car il y a parfois du monde.

Had a great night here one Saturday night recently. While it is a little over priced for the wine.... you'll pay 25 euro for a wine worth 3 in the supermarket, the food is very traditional Portuguese. But the stand out element is the friendly and very much fun Fado! It is worth the higher prices on wine for the friendly service and great fado. Look out for Migeul on the Portuguese guitar, his playing is amazing.

Mooie lokatie, vriendelijke bediening en af en toe zingende vrouwen met gitaristen. Prima plek om kennis te maken met de plaatselijke cultuur, de fado, zingende vrouwen de hun werkende mannen toezongen. Het eten was redelijk.

An absolutely fantastic place if you want to listen to the perfect, authentic fado. It is necessary to make a reservation, otherwise you are not sure that there will be a table. There is a classic set of musicians, classical guitar, Portuguese guitar and vocalist. Three women of all ages sang at our evening, the mood was perfect. Unique experience! Absolutely recommended!

Stopped here after walking by and hearing the music within. We literally froze in our tracks and ducked inside. Had a nice glass of wine while we listened to the sounds of Fado, which turned into a lovely evening that we originally thought would be over much earlier.

Aproveitamos baixa de preços dos vouchers da odisseia e fomos experimentar. O pack é bastante completo e suficiente para duas pessoas. Podia ter mais escolha de sobremesas. Os fadistas foram muitos bons no entanto fazem intervalos muito grandes.

Ristorante rovinato dalla esagerata centralità del fado nella situazione. Ok far cantare il fado cosa che fa l'altro è stata molto piacevole, ma si deve poter lasciare l'opportunità ai commensali di parlare, altrimenti da ristorante si trasforma in un luogo di spettacolo per il fado. Do 1 stella (rarissimissima per me) anche per via della esagerata volontà di voler a tutti i costi truffare i turisti. Siamo stati accolti con educazione ma non appena seduti ci è stato servito un antipasto mai chiesto che ha fatto lievitare il conto ingiustificatamente. L'antipasto composto da 4 fette di prosciutto, 4 scatolette di burro confezionato monoporzione (1,50€ l'una), una mini porzione di olive e 4 fette mini di formaggio locale sono costati circa 20€. Il vino della casa 16€. Mi spiace ma i prezzi sono alti per essere a Lisbona e non sono commisurati alla qualità dei piatti. Le pietanze non sarebbero neanche catastrofiche. Ma la somma delle truffe nel conto + il fatto che durante l'esibizione del fado appena si parla (anche sottovoce) si viene sgridati neanche fossimo dei cerebrolesi, + la richiesta della mancia per il fado e la vendita dei cd alla presentazione del conto rendono il tutto esageratamente poco piacevole. Peccato perché il ristorante è carino ed i camerieri gentili. Ma proprio non ci siamo. Se voglio ascoltare il fado al buio ed in silenzio non vado al ristorante

Non so cosa dire di bello su questo locale. Cibo per niente eccezionale.....ho preso un mix di carne alla griglia a dir poco salata. La cosa sconcertante è stato un antipasto NON RICHIESTO messo nel centro del tavolo a pagamento ovviamente e per niente economico (4 mono porzioni di burro 6€).Per finire? Musica dal vivo fatta dal personale veramente penosa.....e guai se parli!!!! Ripreso come dei bambini! Ma per favore....

Un buco nel sotterraneo piccolo ma sarebbe anche carino non fosse altro per la maleducazione dei camerieri che ti mettono sul tavolo cibo non richiesto, poi ad un certo punto ogni 10 min le luci si spengono e cantano degli improbabili camerieri/ cantanti e guai a fiatare perché’ vieni ripreso in malo modo nemmeno fossimo all’asilo... bocciato su tutti i fronti... cibo scadente per trenta euro a persona.... terribile

No que diz respeito à comida, comi carne de porco à portuguesa e achei a carne bem temperada mas um pouco rija.
Acontece.
Ouvi queixar de bacalhau muito salgado na minha mesa mas não provei. Provei a espetada que estava bem melhor que a minha carne.

HORRIBLE! The place looked good- but first, the singers were not very good to say the least. The food was terrible- i had lots of scales in my fish, i left most of it untoched, and no one asked me if anything was wrong with it- just took it away. When they served us the bill, they asked for a ''tip for all of us''. Waste of time and money.

After 9.30pm you can listen to fado just by ordering a drink, without an entrance fee or a fullmeal contract. Nice calm family atmosphere. The owner sang herself, beautiful magic spot.

Posto carino allo spegnimento delle luci tutto sommato sempre un buco era, dove non prendeva internet. Il cibo costa troppo per quello che si paga di porzione. Il mio piatto non ho potuto nemmeno iniziarlo perché all'interno ho trovato un bel capello nero, inoltre troppo olio ovunque nelle pietanze. SOPRATTUTTO: Non osate fiatare quando la cantante canta, perché il cameriere vi riprenderà in pessimo modo,anche se voi bisbigliate e nemmeno foste bimbi di 5 anni vi farà il segno di chiudere la bocca.
P.s.: tutto quello che vi mettono in tavola che voi non avete ordinato si paga, sia gli affettati e formaggi, pane e olio.

We wonder in looking to enjoy a little tapas and some drinks, drinks are a little more expensive than the surrounding bars but the it's a really lovely venue, they had 2 fado singers in that night and they were fantastic, so much respect is shown to the singers the place falls silent while their signing, and if you're outside you'll need to wait to be seated between songs.
Once you've ordered drinks the staff bring over a meat and cheese platter, it's not free and they perfectly calm if you say you don't want it

Nous avons suivi le guide du routard qui mettait lui même quelques réserves sur ces restos qui profitent des touristes... Et nous avons été naïfs de croire que nous pouvions entendre un vrai fado dans un resto "bon marché" où l'on mange bien...
Déjà à la réservation à l'Esquinha de Alfama rua Sao Pedro nous renvoie sur ce second resto des mêmes propriétaires. Soi disant même esprit.
1heure d'attente pour obtenir des pommes de terre surgelées pas cuites et des viandes surcuites avec sauce pas goutue dutout : cuisine facile à un tarif excessif pour la prestation. (On les paye les quelques chansons de fado!)
Si vous avez le temps, optez plutôt pour un concert de fado avec un vrai artiste et offrez vous un resto qui fait de la bonne cuisine ou passez votre chemin.

Having wandered around the restaurants in these little streets and reading the reviews we forgot to check this one. Big mistake. Looked good from the outside and was busy so we ventured in and should have left as soon we realised we’d waited 20mins for our drinks. The white wine arrived warm and in boiling glasses. It took several attempts and a further 15mins for a glass of ice to arrive. Food was acceptable but nothing special. Bacalau and cream essentially a plate of mash potato, cheese and some cod. Bizarre. Warning to not accept the covers as they work out more than a main meal. Guy next to us kicked off at what they’d been charged for them. Total tourist trap and to top it off they charged 3euro for a small bottle of water and asked to pay for the Fado show. We hadn’t realised they had one. Comical performance and you got death stared if you had the audacity to continue your conversation and meal while they sang. Avoid this place.

Ótimas apresentações de Fado, mas comi um bacalhau com natas que era só batata. E as opções de vinho deixaram a desejar, pois o vinho da casa servido em jarra é péssimo, e o vinho mais barato custa 25 euros e não é dos melhores!

Muy buen servicio, comida y ambiente. Pedimos croquetas de bacalao (muy ricas), catalana de tintorera (super jugosa y sabrosa), 4 cervezas, y olivas con queso de aperitivo (las olivas deliciosas). La actualización de fado muy auténtica y emocionante. Local con encanto y de precio 48 € cenamos 2 personas.Totalmente recomendable. Enhorabuena!

Un excelente lugar para compartir ya sea con pareja o en familia, el ambiente excelente, la comida genial y la música muy acogedora. Solo tienen un baño, pero muy limpio. Recomendado 100 %.

Fomos ao Coração de Alfama com um voucher para refeição completa para dois. As fadistas foram espetaculares, os funcionários foram simpáticos mas a quantidade de comida não foi suficiente para aquilo que se paga. Pedimos bacalhau com natas e estava horrível, mal confeccionado... Sabia a amargo. Mas tudo o resto (entradas e sobremesa) estava espectacular.

No puedo dar mi opinión del servicio de cena porque no cenamos ahí.Por lo que vimos la cena parecía estar muy buena y servida con gusto por gente joven muy amable.
Fue un hallazgo espectacular! Salimos de cenar de un lugar próximo y queríamos escuchar fados. Encontramos este local.Moderno, con un ambiente agradable y regentado por unas personas encantadoras. Nos dejaron entrar a tomar una copa y escuchamos los Fados Coincidimos con un cantante de fados conocido ( Emmanel Soares ) que estaba allí cenando e interpretó varios Fados, luego cantó una chica que lo hizo fantásticamente..Quedamos en que sí volvemos nos cantará MARÍA LA PORTUGUESA
Un recuerdo que será inolvidable, muchas gracias!!

Comida regular. La camarera supongo que nos vio que éramos turistas y nos ofreció un plato con un poco de jamón, queso y olivas que prácticamente nos puso en la mesa antes de contestar si queríamos o no, dijimos que si por cortesía, lo que no nos esperábamos es que ese plato iba a costar 20€... cuándo fui a decírselo a la camarera contestó con bastantes malas formas... El fado está muy bien, lo malo es que apagan las luces en ese momento por lo que todos mis recuerdos son a oscuras...

Mein Mann und ich waren in unseren Ferien zweimal dort, es war absolut super. Man wird herzlich empfangen, das Service Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.
Die Chefin, ausgezeichnet, sie ist immer anwesend und stets herzlich und Freundlich. Die Musik ist der absolute Hit, so muss Fado sein.
Essen ausgezeichnet und nicht zu teuer.

Ugh, I feel bad giving this place only 3 stars. Let's start with the good stuff. The Fado performance was wonderful. Their regulars are fantastic, and they even pulled up a guest guitarist, who sang AND played (pretty unusual for Fado artists). I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Fado. All 3 stars belong to those folks. I was particularly impressed by Clara Sevivas.
The food here was only so-so. House wine was just okay, food was definitely on the bland end of what we had while in Lisbon, and honestly no one at our table could even finish the dessert. Can't comment on it too much more because we didn't get any food choices, which I'll explain in a bit.
Service for our table was fine, but there's a reason for that which might turn many people off to this place. We were there as tourists, as we're about 95% of the patrons. Even worse, we were there on a tour, one of two groups there at the same time from the same AirBnB Fado Experience tour.
This means that any given night about sunset 15-20 people roll in, eat a prescribed menu of cod, olives, wine, and whatever dessert is left and listen to Fado. The service was good beause they know the tour guides and obviously the place and company have that agreement.
Normally, I'd avoid a place that specifically catered to large tour groups, so I feel kinda bad that I was part of the problem here.
Great Fado though.

A lovely setting, not too far from Santa Apolonia, in which to hear heart-felt fado music. The restaurant sold excellent fish and seafood dishes and a decent selection of vino verde and port wine to accompany each section of the menu. I would certainly go back again!

What an unusual place.
The music is great (don't expect it during all the meal, it's every 20 Minutes) but nice singers, it's a family business, with emotions in the voices
The meal, on the other side, is pretty tasteless, basic potatoes, hard meat and I had so much bones in my salmon I didn't even know a fish could have so many.
The waiter is very unique, running everywhere, sweaty as hell, trying to sell you his overpriced 'house' wine, still a funny folk thought.
We didn't wait too much but our neighbors wait at least 45 minutes to get their food. They ordered "vegetarian" (no more info) and that was basic pasta with tomato sauce (for 15$ ouch)
And be careful at the washroom, I'm still hearing the scream of a child falling in the steps right after the door.
Globally a fun experience but poor quality.

Ambiance sympathique, petite salle chaleureuse, établissement fréquenté aussi par des locaux (qui connaissaient les paroles des chansons par coeur). Découverte du fado pour nous, avec 2 sessions sur notre service. La carte est un peu restreinte et manque de desserts locaux. Compte tenu de la partie musicale, le rapport qualité-prix est honnête.

We had diner on a saturday evening, Fado music the all evening which was very nice. Food was ok, more expensive than other traditional portugese restaurant. Be careful to double check the bill (they added products we didnt consume on the bill...)

Remodelado e acolhedor, não que ja nao fosse, mas agora muito mais. A comida continua como sempre excelente, simpatia sempre acima do que mais podemos encontrar. O vinha da casa continua a deixar crescer desejo de pedir mais.
Preços normais para Restaurante Casa de Fado.
Dizer recomendo seria estar a mentir, venham e não faltem, quem falta é porque não sabe o que é bom.

The live music makes up for the high price! The artists should be worldstars, they sing incredibly beautiful. The voices of the singers give you goosebumps, highly recommended. The food is not special but nice and tasty. The music is priceless and a must-see. Extremly expensive but the singers have to be paid and they deserve it!!

Pessimo. Nella zuppa di pesce c'erano i surimi, e nel polipo un lungo capello nero. Il Fado si può ascoltare in tantissimi locali di Lisbona dove non è necessario spendere 30€ a testa per mangiare male.

Sans doute le pire repas en 5 jours à Lisbonne. Nous avions réservé via la fourchette pour le soir du 31/12, on découvre en arrivant qu'il y avait un menu unique à 60€ non précisé sur le site et pas d'autre alternative. Tout le repas a été de qualité médiocre: les gambas étaient à l'évidence congelées, la morue avait une odeur franchement bizarre, la viande était pleine d'aponévroses, les accompagnements sans intérêt, on se demande si la purée n'était pas en flocons, les desserts trop sucrés et quelconques, à ce prix-là ça reste en travers de la gorge...Seul et unique point positif: les musiciens et les 2 chanteuses de fado étaient excellents. Il faudrait pouvoir y aller juste boire un verre et écouter la musique. Bref, fuyez cet endroit.

Esquinha de alfama étant complet (avec une réservation mais 15min de retard sur l'heure annoncée) le gérant nous oriente sur ce restaurant.
Ambiance agréable mais il y a une vraie discrimination touristique sur les quantités servies.
Un plat beaucoup moins généreux que les tables voisines portugaises et les desserts sont juste ridicules, à peine un quart de verrine remplie au cas où nous n'aurions pas compris que les touristes sont de vrais pigeons .

€60 euros for a sharing starter, house wine and two below average main courses that took an hour to arrive. Poor service - the waiter ran down the road shouting at someone whilst we were there! Bad food and service in an area that's been so good so far. Do not make the mistake we did.

Mauvaise expérience. Prix très élevés. Plus d'une heure et demi d'attente avant d'être servi. Plat ne correspondaient pas à la description. Petites quantités et prix exorbitants surtout pour la bouteille d'eau de 33cl facturée 3€. Rien que ça. Le comble fût au moment de l'addition ou j'ai été obliger de réclamer ma monnaie car j'avais payé en espèces. Je déconseille fortement

Went late and heard some great Fado and enjoyed some port.
2 night later we went for dinner.
We should have left right away because the table was ridiculous. No view of the Fado and waiters kept bumping into us. THEN....some friends of the owner came in and made matters worse. Totally blocking any chance to see the performers. I left very unhappy......i was hoping to spend the night eating drinking and lisftening to Fado but left after we ate. I would have been happy to stay longer under better conditions.
To summarize, it is a nice place with average food....the real reason to go is the Fado and the atmosphere. If you get stuck with a bad table, get up and leave, life lesson learned.

1 hora de reloj, 1 HORA!!!! para servir la cena... a mi acompañante, ya que a mi no me sirvieron mi plato principal, porque se olvidaron (supongo, no dijeron nunca xq no llegó mi plato). Encima quisieron cobrar un aperitivo que no tocamos, y cobraron 25 € por una botella de vinho verde CASAL GARCIA que cuesta en cualquier supermercado.... 4 €!!!!! (Esto lo supimos despues, obviamente). Todo amenizado por los "cánticos" y jaleos de los seguidores del Benfica, que acababa de ganar la liga, si bien tampoco tenia la culpa de esto el restaurante

Menjar dolent, bacallà a braz q no existeix, pèssima experiència. Tothom reclamant sobrecostos a la conta... en fi, ja l'he oblidat! Val la pena gastar-se una miqueta més i anar a un dels clàssics de lisboa!

O lugar fica bem embaixo das minhas expectativas. O vinho foi servido em taças de plástico, o serviço foi muito pouco cordial. As pausas no fado foram muito longas (toda a janta foi durante uma pausa, e o fado durou o que dura uma sobremesa).
O lugar é bonito e os artistas valiam a pena, mas há lugares com melhor espírito em Lisboa para curtir de uma noite de fado.

No es de los mejores restaurantes en los que hemos comido en lisboa. Es carito, teniendo en cuenta que el precio medio por plato es de 15-16€, cuando hemos estado comie do/cenando por 9-12€ el plato. La bebida tambien es carita (4€ por copa de vino), aunqie si quieres ver fado cenando no es mala opción, ya que en michos sitios con fado cobran entre 45-50€ por persona

Uma noite de domingo bem passada, com uma excelente refeição, um serviço de qualidade e uma ótima fadista de nome Sofia Ribeiro.
Voltarei ao CORAÇÂO DE ALFAMA e aconselho.

We waited almost an hour for a 15€ plate worth max. 8€. 1. For this price I expect homemade fries. 2. Salad was ridiculous, no dressing, the simplest you can imagine. 3. Very dry dish, no poetry.

Un lugar acogedor para escuchar Fado, la parte mala, por desgracia, como en muchos restaurantes de Lisboa, cuando ven que no hablas el idioma y te creen turista, te hacen cobros de más en la cuenta.

Muito familiar.
Ambiente super tranquilo e familiar. Muito acolhedor onde se pode comer boa comida tipicamente portuguesa. Isto já para nao falar do espetaculo que é talvez se não uma das melhores casas de fado de Lisboa.

This restaurant deserves 5 stars for the Fado alone. This is not the best place for food however it is fresh, made well and is traditional local fare. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. The wine is very good (Red) . It is definitely worth coming here for a nosh, some wine and the music. The breaks between singing are not long so be prepared for an intensive evening !! The managers (about six months as of this writing) being younger, represent a new generation of Fado singers carrying the torch forward.

The place wouldn't be bad if just:
- no possibilities to talk with friends at table because of the too often Fado live music, with lights off, a bit annoying the invitation to stay in silence for 4 hours. I chosed a restaurant, not a concert!
- 2 hours waiting for the typical soup (and the waitress could neither tell the name of fishes inside), and the soup was not as good as I expected
- even if in the menu it was written 15 euro the soup, 29 for 2 people, we payed 34 Euros each, without wine, only with water and beer and a dessert. Almost 20 euros more for what?
A little bit too much to be in Portugal, where the average price for a dinner like that is 15 euros. Never again.

Es un tipico restaurante en una callecita pintoresca de Alfama, me senti en el corazon de Lisboa.. no pudimos comer porque llegamos muy tarde (a las 11 esta casi todo cerrado) pero nos sirvieron los bocadillos que ya estaban hechos y estaban deliciosos!! La sangria exisita y loa precios muy bien! Me gusto mucho el lugar!!

Lovely small restaurant. Tried the cod that was ok, the wine was good, the service was good. But the best part was the fado that they did with such feeling. I'll definitely go again the next time I'll visit Lisbon.
