We had an extraordinary evening last night at this small restaurant. It is tucked away on a small street and could not have been more pleased with everything about it. From the minute we walked in and were taken back to the garden, we knew this was special. The food and staff were perfect. The wines were well chosen as well. We had early reservations, but when we left at 10pm the place was full! In addition to what would have been wonderful as it was, there was a duo- Port du Soul- who literally astounded us with their talent and love of their music..I usually do not write such long reviews, but BouBous should be on everyone’s list!

Un restaurante muy lindo con una carta hecha con mimo. Raciones más pequeñas de lo habitual en Portugal pero con precios razonables y, lo que es más importante, con una explosión de sabores. Me encantó el atún y la crema de tupinanbor (alcachofa de Jerusalén). Las croquetas de conejo también están muy curiosas. Los vinos a copa son un poquito caros. El servicio muy profesional.

Un havre de paix, planqué dans une jolie ruelle face à la mer. @the_boubou_s est le lieu parfait pour se reposer et se délecter de bonnes choses. Le jardin d’hiver est très agréable et juste lumineux comme il faut. La cuisine est délicieuse et créative. C’était tout autant plus appréciable de déguster ces plats, qu’ils sont servis dans des céramiques de @annawesterlundceramics Le staff est vraiment attentif et délicat. C’est une des meilleures adresses que j’ai pu faire à Lisbonne.

Really excellent meal. We had to get something to eat before heading for our flight and really glad we chose BouBou's. The short rib and the crab pappardelle were amazing and the truffle mash was perfect. Attentive service was spot on too.

Confesso que fiquei desiludido com o lugar. A comida, não sendo mal confeccionada, falha na sua tentativa de se apresentar como complexa. Além de que haviam pequenas falhas técnicas na sua confecção, nomeadamente o molho do "rib" estar com apontamentos de queimado. O espaço interior tem problemas de falta de ventilação (cheira a fritos), enquanto o exterior, embora agradável, não tem uma decoração excecional e facilmente fica demasiado ruidoso. Para os preços praticados estas falhas não são aceitáveis.

What a lovely place! As we arrived with my girlfriend to this modern, cozy and well-decorated restaurant, everyone of the staff greeted us and made us feel very welcome. The service was best we've had in Lisbon so far. They really care about their customers unlike many other "fancy" restaurants in Lisbon. We had cocktails, some snacks like rabbit croquettes and crispy squids and for main dish we took a huge, shareable portion of lamb kebab. Every peace of the menu was really tasty and well executed! Definitely worth a visit!

Cada prato dava para quatro bocados, o que estaria bem se a comida tivesse um sabor genial, mas esta comida em particular NÃO tinha. O lugar é bonito, mas não o melhor que eu já vi. Se quiser um restaurante de 3 estrelas Michelin DE VERDADE, vá a Belcanto, Alma, Loco ......Há muitos outros restaurantes incríveis em Lisboa que deixam este lugar com vergonha.

Não fomos os únicos a reagir com expressões de desgosto ao provar os pratinhos, as pessoas nas outras mesas também pareciam decepcionadas e enojadas com a comida. Minha esposa inclusive adoeceu do estômago depois de jantar .... Nunca pensamos que restaurante BouBoús tivesse com críticas tão positivas e de qualidade tão horrível .... Não se deve confundir um estilo novidadeiro com algo estranho e repugnante.

Pena que só vi as criticas depois de ter reservado! Ainda tinha esperança de que as más criticas lidas não fossem de todo verdadeiras...infelizmente não se verificou. Efetivamente o atendimento é ótimo, simpático. A Comida poderia ser razoável não fosse o facto de ser tão cara e tão banal .... decididamente uma experiencia não recomendável!!!

We found BouBou's by chance as we were lining up in a nearby restaurant. And we love it! The restaurant is a hidden gem. Truly warm reception and top service! The food is exquisite! Highly recommended.

Just a five minute walk from the botanical garden tucked along the corner was an excellent seafood dinner. The grilled octopus was not chewy at the slightest, could eat it all night. Highly recommend!

É apenas mais um espaço no meio de tantas. Não marca a diferença em nada!!!! A comida pareceu-me que pretende imitar alguns restaurantes mais refinados mas na realidade a qualidade não acompanha. Não faz sentido este alarido!!!! Lamento mas é a não repetir e a não recomendar! Há alternativas melhor e mais barato!!!!

What a fabulous way to begin our holiday in Portugal. In a formal but relaxed setting, we were served a meal that will be a highlight of our trip. The lamb shoulder (for two) with accompaniments was exquisitely prepared and presented, and the risotto a total delight; the recommended wine just right. A big shoutout to the women chefs and staff Boubou's!

Trendy zaak maar helaas richt de zaak zich meer op de inrichting en is het eten best prijzig gelet op de kleine porties. Het eten is wel lekker en er zijn originele gerechten op de kaart terug te vinden.

La comida está buena, el local es muy bonito y la atención de las chicas de cocina y camareros fue muy simpática. Tienen opción de menú anunciado en la calle en pizarras, pero sin embargo al entrar el maitre sólo me trajo la carta normal, y tuve que preguntar por el menú que se anuncia. Deberían ofrecer todas las opciones al cliente y no ser este quien tenga que preguntar, porque parece que te quieran vender los productos más caros y ese detalle no queda nada bien. Me ofrecieron sentarme en la pequeña barra que hay a pie de cocina, no está mal pero estas demasiado cerca del obrador, y hoy no había mucha gente, pero imagino que en momentos de mayor pedido quizás el lugar sea agobiante por estar tan cerca de los cocineros, o salgas con los olores del cocinado, para un día tranquilo como hoy y siendo sólo un comensal fue enriquecedor ver a las jovencísimas cocineras trabajar. Pagué 26€ por un entrante de variedad de panes (creo que caseros) con una mantequilla super suave, un delicioso ceviche de calamares nikkei, un parmentier de patata, ternera y ajo negro también buenísimo y el riquisimo postre de limón. Todo con copa de vino albariño, botella de agua vitalis de 1/2 litro y café. Recomiendo la opción si buscas un menú algo más sofisticado que las tradicionales tascas de menú portuguesas en un entorno tranquilo y bonito.

Les prix restent tout à fait raisonnable au vu du service, de la qualité des plats et la carte des vins proposée. Go big or go home - poulpe et épaule d'agneau sont des incontournables. Belle découverte. Accueil chaleureux. Une cuisine raffinée et originale. Les petits snacks en entrée sont délicieux : gambas grillées et ceviche de thon. Les plats principaux que nous avons choisis parpadelles à la bisque de homard et risotto aux girolles étaient exquis . Le rapport qualité prix reste tout à fait raisonnable pour ce type de restaurant. Je recommande sans hésiter!

Az etelek minosege nagyon nagyon jo, ugyan igy a dolgozok kedvessege, gondoskodasa is. Kulonosen tetszik hogy az etel minosegi a pincer pedig korultekintoen figyeli hogy minden a legnagyobb rendbe legyen a kiszolgalas korul. Ha tehetnem minden nap ott etkeznek. A mosolygos arcok feledtetik az aznapi gondomat is. Csak igy tovabb!

Exactement la même expérience que ci-dessous... Certes, c'était plutôt bon mais pas extraordinaire. Et la mauvaise surprise de la note donne envie de tout rendre sur la table! Il ne faut pas oublier que c'est le Portugal. A ce prix-là, en France vous mangez dans un gastro une étoile!!! A éviter!! Ou alors resto basket..!!! ;-))

A fuir ! Très mauvaise expérience à la limite du vol. Sous ses airs très sympathique, le patron pousse à la consommation de vin, sans annoncer le prix de la bouteille. Nous nous sommes retrouvés en fin de repas avec une addition scandaleuse. Dommage pour ce prix là, la prochaine fois j'irai dans un bon restaurant.

A place like a friends home Boubou's is a fantastic restaurant which brings together an amazing atmosphere, extraordinary dishes and great service. After entering you feel like at a friends place. The interior design is cozy and with many little details to discover. The staff really knows the menu and is extremely helpful in finding the right dishes and drinks. Once the food arrives you will be amazed by the power of the dishes and the richness of the flavors. Boubou is a must for any foody coming to Lisboa.

Bien. Es un local muy pequeño que lo más bonito es la terraza bien decorada y en otoño hace frío. La carta no es muy amplia. Me esperaba más. 25€/pers sin vino. Ojo a los olisquis, el olor de la cocina impregna el comedor.

My gf and i had dinner at boubou's 2 weeks ago. The service was excellent and really helpful. We had some amazing seafood and really tasty veggies. We definitely come back soon all the way from Amsterdam just to eat at this amazing restaurant in Lisbon!!!

First of all: a definite must go when you are in Lisboa. The restaurant has a cosy and warm atmosphere. Everybody working in the restaurant really knows how to make your evening into a wonderful and romantic night out. The food is amazing. You absolutely taste the experience of the wonderfully chef in all his professional and culinarily dishes. I highly recommend Boubous!

One of the best dining experiences we have had while travelling. (and we have had many) Inventive cuisine in a charming informal setting. Because everything on the menu looked so good we chose a range of smaller dishes. Fantastic flavour combinations. Wonderful friendly and helpful staff too!

Visited few days ago. Great experience. From the moment you enter the place you can see that those guys know what they are doing. Lovely set up and mix of colours. The small patio is simply lovely and relaxing. On the food note nothing to say. All the dishes are well thought. Same for the cocktails. Overall a place to visit if your friends or with you beloved one.

Fantastic experince, since we are based in Lisbon we were delighted to find this new gem. From the moment you call to book unitl the moment you leave they treat you with the outmost professionalism. The resturant has a great bar with superb cocktails, open kitchen and the best part is the private patio. We were deligthed that our waitress was knowledgeable and kind, offered us a seemless service where (finally) we did not have to ask constantly to get our glasses refilled, it was automatic and natural!!!! Food was fabolous very delicous I would say everday comfort food and we love that. Once again we will back!!!!!!! Thank you BouBou's

Nourriture plutôt bonne mais pour un prix excessif. Se veut chic mais peut être mal aimable si vous ne suivez pas ce qu'ils décident pour vous. On vous pousse à la consommation, on se croirait à Paris avec un restaurant arriviste... à fuir !

Très surfait. Certes la nourriture est correcte mais à prix excessifs. Souvent les plats sont trop salés. Service à la « mode parisienne » pseudo chic. Joli service de table (assiettes et couverts) certains plats sortent du lot. Mais ils poussent en permanence à la consommation: plus de vin? Plus d’eau? Etc. Le lieu reste joli mais on a connu plus typique! Au final bof....

Don’t believe the hype. This restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. We had a reservation for New Years Eve with a set menu. At first we where seated in a chilling yard with about 10c temperature. When we complained, we were seated at a counter next to the kitchen, with a first row view to “chefs” unwrapping vacuum packed pita bread. We where not offered any wine for our seafood, and when we asked, it arrived after we finished the dish. My girlfriend asked for a non alcoholic drink and was given a Margerita - with alcohol. The food was mediocre for the prize. Seafood was nice and fresh but nothing special. Kebab was the best, but when served with supermarket bread at this price point, it is not good enough. The dessert tasted weird and we did not finish it. The dishes appeared to me as trying to be fancy, but were not so fancy in taste.

Comida deliciosa, estilo portugués y francés con notas exóticas. Hemos probado el mejor pulpo en Lisboa aquí. Todo el mundo muy acogedor, especialmente Anna. Hay que volver aquí!

Food arrived a little bit cold and I didn't think it was super normal in a high level restaurant to pay extra for side dishes... Except that, starters & deserts great + amazing staff + great place / environment.

We have the kebab and it was amazing. Sat in the “outdoor” seating and it which was really cozy. 5/5 would recommend! Very nice staff

Nice restaurant with good food and attentive staff. I will gladly recommend the tuna appetizer, which was excellent, and the barley risotto, where all the various flavors blend so well. After ordering the waiter left a cookbook at my table. The purpose of it was lost on me though. Why should I read about dishes I can't order?

Muito bem atendida! Ambiente sereno!

Despite being very excited, my excitement was quickly dashed - it began with them being out of 4 of the items on the menu we wanted to order. Then, there was a spider on the corner of the table and as we tried to find a tissue in one of our bags to kill the spider, our waitress (who was already hovering) came over to ask what was wrong. After telling her there was a spider on the table, she dismissively said “this is normal here.” Our small plates were brought out and those were good. Afterwards, she cleared our table and we proceeded to wait 50 minutes to an hour for our main course to be brought out. Once the food arrived, we were expectant as the food looked and smelled delicious, however, upon cutting through the salmon- it was made evident that the salmon was not fully cooked. Since the look of the salmon was concerning, I texted my uncle who is a chef to ask if the food was undercooked or prepared differently. In his response he shared that despite mediterranean/regionally different cooking styles, it was still undercooked. In confronting our waitress, I let her know that the salmon was undercooked and she rolled her eyes while the chef at the restaurant looked upset and also rolled his eyes. The food was sent back and once it was fully cooked, it was fine. Despite the food being fine, the overall experience was terrible. The waitress stared and hovered the entire time, making us feel incredibly uncomfortable. Additionally, they did not apologize for clearly undercooking our food and made us seem like we were delusional. My friends and I were expecting so much and were so excited yet we left feeling extremely disappointed and confused as to why we were stared out the entire time by our waitress. Lastly, the fact that we arrived at 9:15pm, were seated at 9:30pm, and didn’t have the food brought out to us until 11:00pm was ridiculous- as this was happening, we noticed people who were seated after us were brought food quickly and had paid their bill even before our food was brought out. This experience made us feel very unwelcome. We will not be visiting this restaurant again and are very disappointed.

Excellent restaurant in Lisbon. Went with some friends and we all had a great time. Cocktails were good and we shared a few starters which were all excellent. The lamb main course to share is absolutely amazing, it says it's for 2 people but 3 of us shared it and there was still some left over. There was a good choice of wines which were all very good. Service was excellent and very friendly

Amazing food. The quality is top and the service very profesionell. I go to this place since it is open and never had any bad experience. Try the cocktails they are one of the best you can find in Lisbon. The one with absinth is my absolut favorite.

My boyfriend and I had an excellent dinner at BouBou's. The food was fabulous - we got the oysters, tapioca marshmallows, crab pappardale and chicken tagine and for dessert we got the pineapple carpaccio. Every course ended with a clean plate. The service was also top-tier; our wine and water glasses were never empty. The servers were knowledgeable and made great recommendations. All of this came for a very reasonable price - if I am ever in Lisbon again I would return to BouBous.

UNBELIEVABLE. For starters, the service is incredible, kind and professional from the minute you walk in. The wine: fantastic, the best Portugal has to offer, Douro to Alentejo and everything in between. The menu is so interesting with the flavors of South America, India, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean coming to together in perfect harmony. I can highly recommend starting with a glass of their champenoise methode sparkling "Joaquim Arneaud" and the Mackerel ceviche, then moving on to the braised lamb shoulder for 2 people (or 3 to be honest). It was perhaps the most delicious lamb dish I've ever had ( bearing in mind that just 2 days earlier I had the pleasure of eating lamb in the Michelin star "Eleven" restaurant). A red from Alentejo with it's low tannins and soft fruit flavors goes incredibly well with the lamb and it's accoutrements. For dessert you really can't go wrong, but I can personally speak for the almond praline covered "Paris Brest" and a glass of the 10 year Porto Branco (white port). The on top??? Sundays we are blessed with the beautiful strumming of local guitar duo "Port Do Soul". A mix between Irish acoustic and Portuguese "Fado" guitar playing. 5 star experience. Worth every penny, DO NOT MISS BOUBOUS WHEN IN LISBOA!!!

Wasn't too hungry so had a few sides/starters/small plates. The mains were around the 15€ mark but my boyfriend and I had several plates for around the same price each. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Food was unreal. Location is super chill and the garden is great. Opted for tapas style lunch with sides/starters and the tuna ceviche style and crispy squid were great.

First time in Lisbon, and by far the best customer service. Very attentive, knowledgeable staff .. Excellent selection of food and drink choices. Wonderful venue, great location. It is a must in Lisbon!
