Ambiente aconchegante, com ótimos petiscos. Tem o espírito de uma Tasca, realmente. É um dos locais que voltaremos com certeza! Recomendo fazer reserva antes, para ñ ter que ficar aguardando do lado de fora.

We walked in and within 5 mins the Fado started, three singers one man and two women nice voices good guitar players two of them. I did not expect much for the food but it was surprisingly very good we had ribs and grouper both were great!

Best place to see authentic and intimate Fado while eating and drinking some delicious local grilled food and wine. Only Fado I could find that was affordable to young and budget travellers who want to experience Lisbon to its fullest.

Fomos num grupo de 5 pessoas. Trata-se efetivamente de uma tasca. Pouco espaço mas acolhedor. Apesar de completamente cheio consegue viver-se o espírito das tascas do bairro. Vários petiscos para escolher e vinhos para várias carteiras.
Os fadistas não são extraordinários mas também não deverá ser essa a expetativa de quem procura uma tasca de bairro para ouvir fado. São pessoas que gostam de cantar o fado e que o fazem com alma.
Gostámos bastante. Não foi caro. Pretendemos voltar.

This is the way to see fado without paying through the nose!!! We walked in at 7.10, booked a table for 8pm, had a drink down the road, and came back. Yes it gets crowded, but we enjoyed great guitar and a girl singing. We had a round of large drinks and plates of ham and bread for under 10 euro p.p After the first set we left and gave someone else a go.
Highly recommended for a hit of fado.

Uma pena que não aceite cartões, e não avisam na hora de fazer a reserva, e no cardápio a informação e quase impossível de se ler uma vez que há pouca luz dentro do estabelecimento. Foi constrangedor.

It's a good place to listen to authentic Fado, but gets quite crowded so you will likely have to be in a queue before entering. They periodically shut the doors before performing, so you will understand when the show is starting. You cannot eat anything more then tapas I think. Recommended if you like Fado and would like to listen to it while drinking something.

El espectáculo está bien, y se paga con las consumiciones. Pero es agobiante si no reservas, y la comida...mejor pedir de beber la verdad. Totalmente recomendable, por lo menos visitarlo una vez.

Five stars because this place may not be fancy, but it's the true experience. Quick tips for the foreigners. Doors are closed during the performance, so you may have to wait outside for few minutes. The place is very small, so you just have to find a spot yourself and be prepared to share a table! Don't be shy! You may spot a couple of free chairs in a corner, but those are for the fado players. It's probably better to go there just for the experience and grab a beer and some cheese, pick a different place for dinner.

Tivemos uma grande decepção com este lugar. Vimos boas avaliações na internet, porém, ao chegarmos lá, fomos tratados com extrema grosseria por todos os funcionários, principalmente pelo que estava na portaria, um senhor que imagino ser o dono.
Vimos ele sendo rude com outras pessoas da fila também. Na nossa frente na fila havia um grupo de pessoas dos EUA, não sei porque ele não foi com a cara deles e não os deixou entrar. Fez sinal pra nós entrarmos na frente deles. Tentei argumentar, dizendo que eles haviam chegado antes e para minha surpresa ele GRITOU comigo. Experiência terrível! Acredito que isso não é o jeito correto de tratar clientes.
Comida e bebida extremamente caros e qualidade ruim.
O lugar é minúsculo, se você não conseguir mesa você fica em pé completamente desconfortável.

Todos, quero dizer, TODOS os funcionários foram grosseiros. Do senhor na porta (que é um dos que cantam o fado) até as funcionárias que recebem os pedidos. Todos sem paciência e esnobes. Péssimo atendimento, péssimo! A sensação é de quem não nos queriam ali. E não foi só conosco, com vários outros clientes, inclusive alguns estadunidenses com quem fizemos amizade na fila do lado de fora. Ah, vc fica do lado de fora, porta fechada enquanto o fado toca, mas não tem um sinal claro na porta, tipo: "Abriremos em alguns minutos após o término da apresentação". Tomamos uma sangria que era um troço pronto que só misturavam. Pratos e bebidas caros. Enfim, como 1 estrela é o mínimo e o fado foi bom, 2 estrelas.

If you’re looking fado, look no further. This place was recommended to me by an actual fado singer and it’s been a fantastic experience every time. Very simple without bells and whistles; the staff isn’t “rude” as some reviews might suggest, as long as you engage with them and don’t expect them to just serve you on hand and foot. The artists they attract are talented and give you the nostalgic experience of fado in an intimate space. Even if there’s a line outside, it’s worth the wait and moves quickly.

FADO good, establishment and environment bad!
Nothing against the artists but the overall experience was not good.
This place was reccomended by a friend and has alot of history and significance but the artist was meh, the musicians were awesome and the resturant was PACKED.
Food is over priced for the simple soup, bread and sausage. Example a small beer is 3 euros.
They let in way too many people that hung out at the "bar" area which is just the table to pay and put out orders. They constantly have flaming sausage on the same table as well , so do not get too close.
The environment was all tourists fliming and taking flash pictures, which ruins the beauty of the experience since they speak of "FADO" like a souvinear item or a place .
The staff are constantly trying to kick you out if you do not continue to buy things so they can make more money off of you since all they do is want to turn tables.
Better to go elsewhere like Duque da Rua.

The service is not great at all, they all seem rude and bothered to serve you... we asked for four portions of something, the waiter came with two and left with no explanations. When we asked if this represents 4 portions or 2, she simply said they ran out of it... don’t eat here, just grab drinks and enjoy fado. It’s really amazing music!

חיכינו בתור עשרים דקות והיה שווה. המקום פיצפון וצפוף. חלק מהאנשים שמעו את השירה בעמידה ושתו בעמידה!! הזמרעם והנגנים היו נהדרים
הזמנו כוס יין בחמישה יורו. אין מסעדה אבל יש נישנושים קטנים.
אחרי סבב של שירה חלק עוזבים וחלק ניכנסים. לא מכריחים להזמין!! הכל באווירה טובה. חובה להיכנס אפילו לשיר אחד.

Estive em Junho de 2.018. Estava muito cheio, inclusive com filas à porta de entrada. Contudo, valeu muito à pena toda a espera! Foi Maravilhoso! Fado, Vinho e Petiscos!!!Recomendo muito.! Viva a Tasca do Chico e Viva Lisboa!!!

Expectativa maior que a realidade. Nossa reserva não estava lá quando chegamos, mas como fomos os primeiros, nós arranjaram uma mesa. Qnd começa o Fado outras pessoas podem entrar em ficar no bar o que causa tumulto. No conseguimos ver o show, não tinha comida. Petiscos a desejar e preço caríssimo perto do que é oferecido.

You're not gonna get great service here, definitely avoid the food, but the Fado is worth it - it's the only place we found that you can see it over drinks instead of expensive and disappointing food. Wait for the doorman to let you in at the end of a performance, there's about 15 mins before the next one. Grab a couple of drinks (10 euros for 2 sangrias) and stay for a show. Avoid the boxed wine, it is predictably terrible, the music is great though!
I would definitely suggest it, just good to know what you're getting yourself into!

Irgendwie eine Mischung aus Tourifalle und Geheimtipp.
Es ist eine kleine, runtergekommene Bar mit eher höherem Preisniveau. Bei unserem Besuch waren alle Tische reserviert. Aber da wir schon kurz nach Öffnung um 19 Uhr da waren und bis zur Musik um 20:30 fast alleine waren, durften wir bleiben. Zeitvertreib mit eher mittelklassigem Wein. Dazu kann man ein paar Snacks bestellen. Aber das sollte man besser sein lassen und nicht hungrig herkommen. Schinken, Käse und Brot waren eine Nullnummer. Bekommt woanders in Lissabon besser und für weniger Geld.
Um 20:30 ging der Fadospuk los. Licht aus, Tür zu, plötzliche Stille... Die Musik war schön. Wirkte auch authentisch. Dementsprechend Daumen hoch. Muss man mal erlebt haben.
Aber besser reservieren, pünktlich kurz vor 20:30 kommen und nur Bier trinken...

Troquet très sympa. Y arriver dès l'ouverture sinon il faudra être patients. les chanteurs et chanteuses se relaient tous les 3 chants, les consommateurs viennent soit pour grignoter des assiettes de charcuterie, soit pour boire un verre. Il y a une quarantaine de places les gens viennent 1/2 heure, 1 heure, 2 heures, voire plus..... Une bonne approche du fado de Lisbonne... La soirée s'étale de 20h30 à 1h du matin.

Excelente experiência. Fado de primeira. Ótima recepção por parte do staff. O local é um pouco apertado. Usual para os restaurantes da região. Recomenda-se reservas para uma visita mais agradável, mas chagar no horário da reserva é necessário, pois a tolerância é menos de 10min.

If you do nothing else in Lisbon, come here. Get a drink and stand or sit, chat a bit, then when the lights go off let the Fado take you away and steal your heart. Just be aware that silence is mandatory when the Fado starts, this isn't a place to come for a conversation

This place is overrated. The bartender was very impolite, even rude. The wine was very poor quality and was too expensive. The music was ok (nothing special) and they played just few songs. If you want to listen to good fado music it’s better to go to Alfama district.

Un bon endroit pour écouter du Fado.
Les 3 chanteurs ( 2 hommes, 1 femmes) se relais pour des séances de 3 chansons toutes les 30 mins.
La salle est le plus souvent complète, ils vous faudra attendre au moins 1 à 2 séances afin de pouvoir entrer puis ensuite pouvoir vous assoir.
Mais une fois à l'intérieur, on passe un agréable moment.

If you want to listen Fado but you don't want empty yours pockets, this is the perfect place. I don't lie to you, the place is very small and the wine glass and food aren't the best, the purpose come here is just listen Fado (Fado vadio).
Every ten minutes the musicians play 3 songs. The door is close during the show.
You won't find a cheaper and better option for this experience. If you have a good budget you can looking for another place with ceremonial fado experience.

To be brief : it was very bad. For the fado lovers, you will be very disappointed (the voice of the singer was terrible). The performance was very poor, drinks are more expensive than in other places. Don’t be fooled like other tourists or even myself.
French version : tres mauvais. Un chanteur assez vieux qui ne sait pas chanter, n’essaie même pas de chanter mais crie le temps de deux chansons. Une grande déception pour moi en tant que grand amateur de fado.

Experiència molt negativa, de cap de les maneres les ressenyes que hi han s'ajusten a la realitat. Lloc cutre i mal cuidat, que hi posen el doble de persones de les que hi caben, han de estar drets tapant-se els un als altres, el servei de Bar és mínim i de poca qualitat i el preu no és ajustat. Pel colmo, la cantant estrella canta tres cançons i desapareix i després canten dos personatges, un ja decadent i l'altre amb poc talent. I si, a més heu de fer cua no perdeu el temps.

Painfully overrated. The music is good, but the place is really small. The door is closed during sets, so folks are let in during the breaks. We waited about 30 min to get in only to find it cramped standing room only. Food was so so, staff was rude. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby with ample seating and live Fado music, with performers just as good as here. Not sure why this place is so popular...

If I could, I would definitely give them zero star. They dont deserve even one. The waitress gave the worst attitude possible. I was surprised that I had to argue with this person while I am on a vacation. I understand that her English is not perfect and I cant speak Portuguese, but that doesnt mean she had to get mad at me. I will never ever return to this place and will also recommend people not to go to this one. There are so many better ones in the city. Please people.

Of the many bars and 'tascas' that offer authentic Fado, this is definitely one of the best. Reserve a table, otherwise you either won't be able to stay or you need to stand. Multiple different singers perform every half hour or so, and you can enjoy the sounds of beautiful Portugese music. Don't expect to have a huge dinner, there are tapas but as it's so busy, not everything is available.

Pergunta "não vai consumir???" e eu respondi que como era a última música iria então embora.. Ela diz obrigado de um modo super antipático e vai embora.. A não voltar. Worth the wait. At least four people told us if we want real Fado go to this place. So we did. And for the first hours of waiting (yes hours!) We were really not sure we had made the right decision.
Service was terrible, the tapas well below par, and people coming and going in what is a tiny space.
Then suddenly the doors are lockec, red lights go on and the fado starts. Which is incredible. Three songs from each singer. Then a gap to lwt pwople in and out and another three songs. It's the real deal.
Worth the wait because it is full of Portuguese. And tourists of course but many locals.
Stick it out, take the table opposite the storeroom and you wobt he disappointed

O meu marido tinha reservado mesa para dois .Chegamos antes da hora e não tínhamos mesa. Esperamos uma hora e continuamos sem mesa e claro viemos embora. Ficamos sem jantar pq neste dia e devido ao contexto que vivemos sem reserva era difícil de se jantar fora . Para não voltar .

Marquei mesa na véspera para as 22h, cheguei 10 minutos antes, não tinha mesa, pediram para esperar no balcão. Estive 1hora e não tive mesa, mas tinha reserva. Estão apresentados. Portanto não vale a pena reservar. Para não voltar.

Love the vibes! Fantastic atmosphere, the signers are very talented and we enjoyed their performances very much. We spent an hour and a half listening to the singers. It was my first time listening to fado. my friend and I were lucky enough to get a table and some food. However, the food was not good at all... The fish cakes were cold, the sausage was too rubbery to eat. Just wish the food was as good as the fado performances.

The Tasca do Chico is a pretty famous place in Lisboa's Barrio Alto; the quarter where most people like to party in Lisboa.
The place was very full so we couldn't even find a place to sit. We had to see the fado shoe standing.
The live music had an excellent quality. I hope I can come back any day to try the food.

Der Service wirkte lustlos und von Gästen genervt. Die Getränkebestellung wurde vergessen und erst auf zweiter Bestellung gebracht. Die Preise sind teuer, dafür bekommt man aber auch kostenloses Programm mit traditioneller Tanzeinlage und Fado-Gesang. Ich kann keine Empfehlung aussprechen, fand es aber okay wenn man nichts vom Service erwartet.

Posto tremendo, rinominato solo ed esclusivamente per il Fado, tipica musica portoghese suonata dal vivo. Se non è questo il motivo che vi ha spinto a venire qui cambiate idea immediatamente. Cameriere scortesi, sembrano ti facciano un favore a farti sedere per poi consumare degli affettati semplici pre tagliati e conservati nel portavivande. Portate normale! Non fatevi ingannare!

일일투어 가이드님 추천으로 간단히 음료먹으면서 파두공연을 보려고 갔습니다 앉는 자리는 다 예약이 되어 있어서 서서 간단히 음료 먹으면서 보려고 했는데 저희말고 스탠드석에 외국인 손님두분이 계셨는데 그분들에게 메뉴판을 줄때는 활짝 웃으면서 주더니 저희가 바로 그뒤에 메뉴판을 달라고 하니 얼굴이 굳은 채로 주더군요 그때부터 분위기가 좀 이상했는데 여자직원분이 메뉴판을 주자마자 바로 코로나 코로나 이러시더라구요 요즘 코로나 때문에 동양인들을 보는 시선이 더 안좋은것도 알고 조심스러워야하는것도 알겠는데 이런식으로 당하니 상당히 기분이 더러웠습니다 그냥 바로 나왔네요

Used to love this place. But music was disappointing, or worse. And they tolerate obnoxious tourists who apparently only go there to have something to brag about. Bragging starts during the concert... For fado, you're better off in the honestly touristic places nearby.

קראתי על המקום הזה.מאוד מומלץ. באנו. יש תור. החלטנו לחכות.חיכינו 35 דקות. רצינו לשבת. אבל בעלי מקום מעוננים להכניס אנשים כמו דגים.לא מעניין להם שאין איפה. ניסינו לעמוד בצד אבל כל הזמן אמרו לנו לא לעמוד לא פה ולא שם.אבל זה לא הפריע לתת תפריט ולהגיד שאנחנו חייבים להזמין.אמרתי שמוכנים לחכות.רוצים לשבת.נעמר לנו זה מה יש.יצאנו.

Hemos estado toda la noche aquí hemos disfrutado como enanos. Eso si, no es para cenar. La comida deja bastante que desear. Aún así merece la pena venir a este lugar de culto y dejarse sorprender por la variedad de sus artistas... Gracias

Pequeño antro donde el espacio se cotiza caro. Antes de las 10 de la.noche, que es cuando empieza la actuación, la gente y los grupos con o sin reserva van llenando el local.
Una avispada camarera gestiona la colocación del personal, así como las bebidas y las viandas.
Cuando yo estuve cantaron un hombre maduro y una mujer, alternando turnos de 4 ó 5 canciones. Los relevos van acompañados de un descanso para los vocalistas y también para los músicos.
Es fácil compartir mesa con gentes de cualquier parte del mundo, pues la tasca es famosa. La charla, internacional, es interesante.
Las viandas son cosas sencillas pero sobrosas: tablas de embutido y quesos, bocadillos de lo mismo, embutidos flambeados, alguna sopa portuguesa (son muy de sopas), empanadillas y croquetas.
La suma de todos los elementos más el ambiente hacen que la estancia sea cadí mística.

Soirée Fado qui ne m'a pas enthousiasmé, pas de place, tassé dans un coin, tapas insipides. Tout pour se sentir un "touriste" et non comme un spectateur. Néanmoins cette promiscuité, nous a fait réaliser une très belle rencontre. Un couple âgé de brésilien qui maniait la langue de Molière mieux que moi. Grand écrivain dans son pays, homme de savoir et de culture. Nous avons fini par deviser dans les ruelles en descendant vers la place du Rossio.

Food quality is not so good. You need to book in advance (minimum a day before) to get a shared table to eat. Es un típico sitio portugués. Ya sabía a lo que iba así que no tuve sorpresas. El lugar muy pequeño,hay que reservar, pero aún así entre y me gustó. Escuche fado y comimos algo. La consumición mínima es de 10 euros que con un chorizo al infierno y una cerveza lo tienes. Volveré.

A special place in my heart - intimate, cozy, a place where you may sit at a table with another traveller, a stranger, and be moved by the beauty of the music together. And later you may take that person by the hand and go make sweet love to them. Other places in Baixa Chiado are just imitations.
P.S. Don't expect amazing service. You are there for the music. Go get your own beer, or sangria, for the table and then settle in for the night.

Você não veio a Lisboa e não ouviu Fado se não foi na Tasca do Chico.
Com ares de tabernas antigas, uma energia inigualável, a melhor sangria que já tomei! Sempre peça pão, azeite e olivas enquanto assiste a uma ou mais sessões, as meninas são sempre rápidas e eficientes! Eles não aceitam cartão, vá com algum dinheiro.
Não se assuste com a fila lá fora, vale a espera! E se ainda tiver sorte pode tirar uma foto com o ilustre Chico!

Posto tanto decantato ma pessimo!
Non andate lì a mangiare! Abbiamo preso 2 tapas una di chorico e l'altra di quejio. La tapas di formaggio consisteva in una fetta (scarsa) al modico prezzo di 4€, il chorico aveva un gusto pessimo.
Quando abbiamo prenotato ci hanno detto che la spesa minima sarebbe stata di 10€ ma si sono dimenticati di dirci che non era possibile pagare con bancomat o carta di credito ma solo con contanti (cosa tra l'altro illegale).
Il personale è scortese e sgarbato, mai un sorriso e anzi vieni pure trattato in malomodo.
Forse una volta era uno dei locali più belli e caratteristici di Lisbona ma oggi lascia veramente a desiderare. Allo stesso prezzo si trova di molto meglio.
Carino il fado, quindi consiglio di andare lì solo per ascoltarlo davanti ad un buon bicchiere di vino.
This place is really bad! Don't go there to eat! We had 2 tapas one of chorico and the other of quejio. The cheese tapas consisted of a slice (poor) at a modest price of € 4, the chorico had a bad taste.
When we booked there the girl told us that the minimum we have to spend would be 10 € but she forgot to tell us that it was not possible to pay by debit or credit card but only with cash (which is also illegal).
The staff is unfriendly and rude, never a smile and indeed you are treated badly.
Maybe once it was one of the most beautiful and characteristic places in Lisbon but today it is not like that. For the same price you can much better place.
Cute fado, so I recommend going there just to listen to it over a good glass of wine.

Good dinner with fado show. We ordered cataplana de mariscos for 2 persons and it was really tasty (even though we tried it for the 1st time so we cannot judge), attention nice..very busy place. If you come for dinner you can watch fado show that start each 13 min or so.

It is my birthday and my last night in Lisbon before heading to Porto tomorrow. We arrived 10mins ago 10.12.19, arrived at 19h37 entered, found an empty table waited to be SEEN, the waitress appeared, asked if we had a reservation, we explained that we didn't... However, we sat at a table that did Not have a Reservation sign. The waitress then looked at us, said the table is "all of a sudden" Reserved, and fetched the sign from her counter and placed the Reserved Sign ontop of the table and told us to stand at the bar if we wanted. (Singing would take place 45mins later whilst we are standing?!?!) At the time there were only 2 tables occupied, ofcourse if the table were ALL reserved then they could have made it ALL Reserved as they opened at 7pm!? Or said, "why don't you sit here until the Reservation arrives, right!?" Well, anyway the waitress was Not friendly at all, we left, I would give it a ZERO on here, as we are customers! By the way, the pictures on here are very deceiving, this Chico place is TiNY with camp tables and bench chair. When we left, I was ready to go back to the hotel and order a Pizza, but we were approached by the gentleman(maitre) across from Chico bar, he explained food is available and FADO is free with no minimum charge. It is called RETIRO Dos Sentido, which is across from Tiny Chico bar. At RETIRO Dos Sentido, they were already singing Fado when we arrived (19h40), we sat at a table and chairs of our choice, no waiting time at all to hear Fado. Yes, they sing 2 songs then take a break, it's normal as it's not a CONCERT, but then they are back again, and only if you want, you have the OPTION to buy their CD, and I thought they sang really really well and we felt their emotions. By the way their CD's make a wonderful GiFT. Look don't expect MasterChef food from Retiro Dos Sentido, BUT we had a lovely starters menu, soup, good wine and starters cheese and very attentive service from the waiter. The final Bill was correct when we paid. I thanked the gentleman outside for speaking to us, I thanked him as we had a great first time and it was our First EVER Fado Experience at Retiro Dos Sentido, so thank you very much RETIRO DOS SENTIDOS, thank you!!!!

Il locale è super affollato però consiglio di trascorrere una serata in questa fantastica tasca soprattutto per l'atmosfera che qui si respira. La cena arriva intervallata dalle canzoni del fado. Cerca de la Praça Luis de Camoes y del metro Baixa Chiamo. Es muy pequeño por lo que es recomendable ir temprano.La gerente muy amable te da la carta en alguno de los idiomas principales, entre ellos, castellano. No tanto el camarero, que ni siquiera mostró esfuerzo para intentar hablar ni inglés. Pedimos atún y bacalao a la bras y estaban buenos. Calidad precio buena, pero a tener en cuenta que es un pelín más caro que la media. Como nota negativa, el local al ser pequeño lo tienen con las puertas abiertas y si vas en invierno tienes que comer con abrigo.

The music is worth the wait (and you will be waiting at least 45 minutes to get inside), the food - not so much. But let's face it - you don't come to Tasca do Chico for food. You sit on a tiny bench, squeezed between two other people and can't move. But when the show starts you forget the whole world and just melt to the nostalgic sounds of fado.

The line isn’t too bad— we got there at 8:30pm and waited about 30 minutes outside. After the set finishes, everyone in the bar area rushes out and the people in line are ushered into their former bar space. Over the next few minutes you’ll be told to move out of the servers’ way several times since there is no space. The fado musicians will play for about 20 minutes and then you will be rushed out. Correction, you will rush yourself out. The whole experience felt very touristy and joyless.

Super rude staff, they say they don’t take reservations but when the place is open, all the tables are reserved. Went there last night, put my name on the waiting list and then when I came back, the staff was highly rude and ignored any reservation/waiting list. Don’t recommend.

Tengo sentimientos contrarios con este lugar. Nos lo aconsejaron en el hotel como un sitio donde poder ver fados, un poco más informal que las cenas que te proponen en otro sitio, más recogido y típico portugués. Hay que ir con tiempo, porque se forman unas colas increíbles para coger sitio, aunque te dejan entrar a la barra sin sentarte para tomar algo y poder ver el espectáculo. Cierran las puertas durante los cantes. Es un lugar pequeñito, si consigues mesa se comparte con más gente, y te cantan prácticamente a ti, sin micrófonos ni altavoces. Suelen cantar tres canciones cada vez y van cambiando de cantantes. Nosotros, incluso llegamos a ver un espectáculo de folclore, con cante y baile. Tiene mucho encanto. Lo malo, las camareras te tratan muy mal, la comida es muy escasa para lo que cuesta, y las bebidas son un poco caras. Pero para ver un fado y tomarte un par de cervezas creo que vale la pena pasarse.

It is a really small place and you need to wait in the queue to get it. They let us in after more than 20 minutes in the queue and only allowed us to have a drink at a bar. They have a couple of live music sessions per night. The session is 5 minutes long. But in the end it was a nice stop for the evening

Le lieux est très agréable pour écouter du fado. L'ambiance y est très bonne, les chanteurs se relaient toutes les 3 chansons. Côté repas ne vous attendez pas à autres chose que des tapas et encore de qualité très moyenne mais vous devrez manger pour pouvoir vous assoir. Vous pouvez toujours y aller pour boire un verre (debout) en écoutant la musique mais attention l'attente peut être très longue. Ce que nous vous conseillons, prévoyez de réserver 1 ou 2 jour avant. Le mieux c'est d'y aller juste avant 19h pour éviter l'attente, vous reservez et vous revenez à 20h le jour de votre réservation.

Nos encantó y cautivó la gente y el ambiente. Es un sitio pequeño por lo que tienes que reservar si quieres tener mesa (recomendable pasarte el días de antes y reservar en persona porque por teléfono no lo aceptan). Nosotros entramos y estaba lleno; nos dirigimos al final del local y pudimos estar en la pequeña barra tomando unos chorizos (por cierto los hacen al infierno y están muy buenos) hasta que pudimos compartir mesa. Las actuaciones de Fado son impresionantes ya que lo sientes en el alma al estar tan cerca de los artistas (no hay escenario, actúan desde el pasillo que forman las mesas)

Para guiris. Hay 20 sitios mejores. Solo puedes cenar, no puedes tomar solo una cerveza o vino. Te sugieren otros locales para poder solo pedir un vino o cerveza y te mandan a trampas para turistas . Lo mejor es dar una vuelta y entrar al que mas te guste preguntando bien los precios, suelen engañarte con las bebidas

It is a small bar in the area called Bairro Alto. They have various musicians singing Fado every 15 minutes. While singing they lock the door and people arriving have to wait outside till the singing is over. It feels very authentic unlike many places that are set up to attract tourists.

7시 50분에 도착했지만 좌석 없다고 바에 서있었습니다. 비어있는 좌석은 전부 예약석이고, 실제로 제 앞에 한팀도 다음날 좌석을 예약하고 갔습니다. 앉지 못하니 일찍오실 필요 없으시고 그냥 파두 시작하는 8시 30분 전후로 도착하시면 될 것 같네요. 파두 자체는 너무 좋았습니다^^

Pequeño pero abarrotado. Un sitio para disfrutar de un buen Fado, y es tan pequeño que estás literalmente al lado del cantautor, es inevitable sentirse embriagado por la música. Cuando el aforo está completo no dejan entrar a nadie más y cierran las puertas hasta q hay otra sesión. Conviene preguntar los precios de las bebidas antes de que os las sirvan si no queréis llevaros un buen susto.

Authentic place with helpfull staff. I did not eat there, so can’t comment on the food but had a generous glass of good wine and listened to four different singers performing fado. I don’t know why people are complaining of the minimum consumption requirement if they are to take a table. The restaurant needs to pay the artist and the staff. I stood at the bar because I was not hungry and had no issue with it.

Place where you will find a lot of locals. Very traditional and cosy place.
Here you can listen to the Fado traditional song in Portugal. It is forbidden to speak while singer is singing. But you probably won't want to speak, it is such an amazing song. Also, their Sangria was the best one that I have tried in Portugal.

The place in itself isn't too bad, it actually is pretty authentic and traditional, you can see many Fado singers have come to this place in the pictures on the wall. However the staff seemed pretty rude, at least on our visit. Also they asked for minimum expense of 10€ per person...

Me encantó. Fui en domingo, alrededor de las 22h. Primero creía que estaba cerrado, tiene una doble puerta de color azul, pero me pareció que dentro había movimiento. Se encuentra en una calle estrecha con locales a ambos lados. La calle estaba adornada como de verbena, igual que las calles paralelas. No sé si están así siempre, o coincidía por algún motivo. Todas las terrazas estaban a tope, incluso había bastante gente tomando algo de pie, quizá esperando mesa. El local no tiene terraza. Era el único en el que había cola para entrar. Esperé un cuarto de hora más o menos. Después abrieron las puertas, salió algo de gente y nos dejaron entrar a tod@s. Volvieron a cerrar las puertas y cantaron 3 fados. Se puede cenar a base de tapeo, pero desconozco la calidad. No es obligatorio consumir. Cuando acaban los 3 fados vuelven a abrir las puertas, sale un poco de gente y entran otr@s. El sitio es pequeño, pero acogedor. La decoración sobrecargada, pero curiosa. Las paredes están llenas de fotos de Chico, supongo, con cantantes de fado, y del techo cuelgan muchísimas bufandas, de equipos de fútbol, seguramente. Mejor quedarse cerca de la entrada, si te vas al fondo, la columna que hay en medio te tapará la visión y sólo escucharás. Aún así vale la pena. Lo recomiendo.

Muy sobrevalorado. Los fados estan bien, pero el local es muy pequeño y estábamos todos demasiado apretados. La calidad de la comida es pésima. Básicamente son imitaciones de tapas y sangría españolas. Merece la pena escuchar uno o dos fados porque se crea un buen ambiente, pero casi todos son muy parecidos y es un poco agobiante estar tan apretado. Además solo hay una camarera y no puede con todo la pobre.

Ela parece odiar brasileiros! Então o que poderia ser uma avaliação 5 estrelas se reduz a 2! Parabéns aos músicos e a fadista Inez de Vasconcellos. Parabéns aos cantores de fado também! Recomendo, mas desde que saibam e se divirtam com a estupidez da garçonete. Uma infeliz.

Yes. Every night. You can queue outside if you don't have a reservation. The fado artists take a 10 min break every 4 to 5 songs and some people come out at that time so they let more people in. A lot of people come out around 10pm or so. The first night, although there was a large queue outside, we managed to get in after 2 breaks but only got standing room at the bar. We then booked for the next day at 8pm. It really worth it.

Fado spot - suggested only if you want to live a great fado experience despite waiting in the cue and eating in small tables.
The place has been suggested by locals; it's small but it's very traditional and has a great atmosphere. We had listened to 3 different fado singer while eating something simple (e.g. chouriço, bacalhau, tapas mista). A bit of cue to get in, better to reserve the day before (doors are closed while they are playing).

Sitio perfecto para escuchar Fados. Cantan tres piezas y descansan así desde las 8 de la tarde hasta al menos las 23;30 que fue cuando nos fuimos. Es una taberna por lo q hay q estar apretados y en silencio... vamos! Para eso se va a escuchar Fados si no, vas a otro tipo de bar. Los precios son buenos, cervezas 3€ con la música en directo incluida. Hay q hacer cola sí, pero merece la pena, se mueve rápido y sin duda una experiencia muy muy buena. Dan de comer aunque yo no comí nada. Obrigada! Viva el Fado!

Ens ho van recomanar al B&B, 1 hora de cúa per a entrar, el lloc és molt petit i va entrant i sortint la gent a mida que van alternant-se les actuacions. Canten dimarts i dissabte, per lo tant en ple agost a tope.
Dues copes de vi, formatge, olives i quatre croquetes 24 €.
No puc comparar amb d'altres llocs. Ens van aconsellar al barri d'Alfama el Clube de Fado, però no hi vam anar.

Waited around 1 hour to enter. We had 1 jar of readymade sangria for 12,5€
Stayed there for 2 shifts = 2 different singer sang 3 Fado songs each.
Enjoy the cozy atmosphere; don’t expect to have a real dinner there. I suggest you go there without any reservation (they don’t accept any) wait a bit, have a glass of wine and enjoy a couple of songs and leave the place max in 1 hour.

Un lugar singular donde descubrir y disfrutar del Fado. Abren las puertas para que la gente pueda entrar o salir cada 3 canciones. Cuando está lleno que ya no cabe un alfiler, las vuelven a cerrar para otras 3 canciones. Es típico para comer el chorizo al infierno y los pasteis de bacalhau. Si tienes tiempo y no te importa hacer cola de 15-20 minutos, merece la pena.

El sitio es pequeño y tiene su encanto, pero hay que ir pronto, el sitio abre a las 19:30 y a partir de las 20:30 empiezan a cantar. Pero es muy pequeño y se llena enseguida. A las 20:00 que hemos llegado solo había un pequeño sitio en la barra y desde esa hora hay que esperar mínimo 40 minutos para entrar. El fado del sitio está bien, pero nada del otro mundo.

First of all, don't have the mistake- it is a terrible place with a terrible stuff. You need to wait in the line for at list 15 min wich is ok basically. But then you are getting the treatment of a prisoner. Most of the people have to stand crowded while the waitresses are pushing you all over and scream on you. The show itself was exactly two songs. It was a disappointing experience.

Pessima experiência, funcionária extremamente ríspida e preconceituosa com turistas brasileiros, não tínhamos reserva, sentamos em uma mesa e fomos informados que não tínhamos reserva e devíamos sair...Não recomendo, assim como nem todos portugueses são assim, os brasileiros em sua maioria tem bom caráter ...volto a dizer não recomendo, procurem outro estabelecimento!!!
