Pour ceux qui veulent un cadre calme autour d'une belle assiette goûteuse, je conseille le Bistrô 4 ! Très juste au niveau des saveurs, service vraiment parfait et très accueillant, et tranquillité assurée ( moi qui n'ai pas la voix qui porte, je trouve insupportable les restos où on est obligé de hurler pour avoir une conversation)

I went for the Sunday Easter brunch. Greeted warmly by the hostess and seated in a lovely dining room just off the lobby. My pretty waitress Jessica explained the buffet and turned me loose. WOW isn't good enough to describe the food. The marinated mussels were extraordinary as well as the octopus salad, smoked fish pate, fish carpaccio, roasted mutton and sublime desserts. The floor manager went out of her way to see that everyone was content. My compliments to the chef and staff.

The octopus with beetroot risotto was the BEST restaurant main-course I've EVER had! Plenty of yummy subtle flavours and careful seasoning. Unfortunately the mille-feuille desert was spoilt by burnt pastry, shame!

Gorgeous restaurant in the heart of Lisbon. The dishes are well designed with excelent ingredients. Nevertheless I did not find the food experience up to the hype, it’s good but not “amazing “, specially considering the prices (dinner menu). The portions were also quite small. The service was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly.

Vynikajuce dochutene jedla a inovativne spracovanie tradicnych receptov portugalskej kuchyne. Profi personal, ochotni poradit. Vyborne vino, pomer cena vykon trochu nizsi ale urcite odporucam navstevu. Na obrazkoch tuna carpacio, cod that wanted to be bras a tretia bola terina. Dobru chut :)

Snobisme et faux semblants. Quelle surprise dans une restauration portugaise de recevoir un steak tartare servi avec 7 chips , la digestion a été terrible ... Le sparkling white wine ressemble à un banal mousseux français. Les pains facturés 10€ alors que nous avons renvoyé le plateau au moment même où le serveur nous l'a apporté. Une addition salée pour conclure car nous avons encore faim. Pourtant nous ne sommes pas du tout de grands mangeurs.

O restaurante Bistrô4, localizado dentro do hotel Portobay, é super aconchegante e com um ótimo serviço. Os pratos são deliciosos e possuem uma grande variedade de vinhos portugueses. O bacalhau estava ótimo.

Food is good but there's a spark missing. Starters and desserts small and main courses far too big. Wine was nice but they charged me €10 more than it was listed in the menu, so left feeling ripped off. Wouldn't go back

Um ambiente requintado com decoração de muito bom gosto. Tem uma excelente carta de vinho e bebidas em geral. Os pratos são muito saborosos e têm uma apresentação convidativa. Os valores são elevados, o que é facilmente justificado pelo ótimo atendimento e sofisticação do lugar.

The food and service is good but this is not a Michelin star restaurant as google indicates. The Burrata appy was OK, the limpets were very good, the mains are well done and nothing to complain about but the deserts were only good but not amazing. The service is good until the place gets busy and then it starts to get slow and the staff is absent.

The place looked good and the waiters were ok. We got two starters which were delightfull. But when it came to the beef, this was like rubber. Clearly and old cow that had been walking around for many years. We did not think that beef here in Portugal could be so bad. And that the chef at the Bistrô4 were so neglectable in his work. Gehobenes Ambiente mit sehr zuvorkommenden Kellnern und besonders freundlichem Personal. Preislich an Mitteleuropa angepasst bekommt man hier exzellente Küche und eine wirklich enorme Auswahl an Wein und Champagner geboten. Auch hochpreisige Weine bis 400€ sind vorrätig.

Très bonne adresse à Lisbonne. Plus haut de gamme, mais avec un service de qualité, très attentionné et accueillant. Une cuisine fine et raffinée. Une belle carte des vins pour tous les goûts et tous les portefeuilles. Bref, nous avons passé un très bon moment !

Sobre este restaurante só posso mesmo dizer que adorei. Desde o atendimento que foi exímio, à comida, que foi, sem dúvida a melhor refeição que provei na cidade de Lisboa, sendo que não nos podemos esquecer que o chef responsável pelo Bistro4 é o Benoit Sinthon. O restaurante peca apenas por um ambiente um pouco insípido, mas que acaba por ser normal uma vez que é um restaurante de um hotel. O preço vai ao encontro dos preços praticados pelos restaurantes de autor de Lisboa, sendo que estão até ligeiramente abaixo da maioria dos restaurantes de alta gastronomia desta cidade. A melhor parte da refeição foram sem dúvida as sobremesas que são absolutamente divinais.

Heerlijk gegeten. Het eten was met aandacht klaar gemaakt en zorgvuldig opgemaakt. De bediening was vriendelijk en sprak goed Engels. Leuke bijkomstigheid was de korting die wij kregen door te reserveren. Al met al een mooie avond.

Refeição miserável. Chocante para um restaurante de hotel de 5 estrelas. Servido um naco de 3 cm de gordura de toucinho. Era prato do dia com a designação de barriga de porco. Nunca vi uma refeição tão pobre.... nem em restaurantes modestos de África.

Awesome! There was only a little menu available due to the public holidays so one vegetarian option only, which I didn't expect to like that much. They even made vegetarian "Portugiese tapas" for us so don't be afraid to ask if you have any requests, they will try to meet them. The service was professional yet friendly. Very satisfied

Best steak I have had in Europe but ripped me off on their drink of the day; simple cheap champagne for $12 Euros; so 2 stars since they ruined the experience with the ripoff. Only order from menu and you will be fine and have a good experience.

Honestly, Lisbon surprised me with how delicious the food is there. The food actually tasted as good as it looked. At Bistro 4, the space was elegant and so was its dining experience. The service was friendly yet still professional; they made us feel comfortable wearing casual attire in a formal atmosphere. On a side note, people in Lisbon were very friendly and welcoming, and they seemed to be happy all the time. I enjoyed the thin slices of meat in the salad as well as the thin crisps that complemented my main course perfectly. The cuisson of the fish was on point; topped with its sauce and the pleasant texture added by the crumble, the outcome was fulfilling. Last, but definitely not least, came the dessert. It was the perfect finish. I really loved how the chef played with the strawberries; presenting them as dehydrated as well as cooked becoming “jam-like”. One shouldn’t forget how the strawberries were placed, as if returning them to the garden they were once in, but improved and more desirable.

I went for dinner to Bistro4, after a few attempts and this time with a discount voucher in hand. The place is quite nice, with an al fresco area and the dining room from where we could see what was going on in the kitchen (nothing to hide, I like that). Very french bistro style. The food was nice, for my taste anyway. We had pate en croute, which was more like a terrine; I would have liked to have felt a stronger liverish taste, but nice all the same. Then followed crispy piglet belly: very, very crispy skin indeed,  but I was expecting a softer meat, less chewy than it was; still, tasty. My partner had an Angus steak with black pepper, delicious meat, perfectly cooked.  For dessert, I had the mille feuille with salted caramel, crispy dough sheets, nice filling, although I couldn't get much of the salted caramel taste. Portions were adequate and we were quite satisfied in the end. Service was friendly, despite us waiting for about 10 minutes until someone came to take our order (we noticed that people who arrived after us got their orders first). They recovered during dinner and showed really nice touches of customer care, like fairness in serving the wine for example (the sommelier lady was really nice). With the discount, the feast ended up at around €30 per person, which was good value for money considering the standard and the fact that equivalent places in town end up being more expensive (trying to make the easy buck from the tourists). Even without discount, this would be borderline fair (ca. €40 per person). I want to go back and try their brunch and I don't mind going again for dinner, preferably with another discount.

I had dinner at the Bistro4 located in the Hotel PortoBay Liberdade. It was a surprisingly good restaurant serving traditional Portuguese cuisine. I ordered limpets in a skillet & bolo do caco flat bread with garlic butter which was very tasty. The DOP cheese and the foie gras were fabulous and the traditional Portuguese codfish was delicious. The vegetarian ravioli was on the salty side but was still very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

O Bistro4 é localizado no Hotel Porto Bay Liberdade e tem como grande chamariz o chefe responsável pela sua cozinha e premiado com uma estrela Michelin, o Chefe Benoît Sinthon. Eu adoro restaurantes em hotéis, e fiquei logo interessado neste mal vi este magnifico hotel abrir na Avenida da Liberdade. O seu espaço tem uma decoração com toques modernos e clássicos, onde destaco o lindo tecto e o candeeiros. Existem duas salas, uma sala interior enorme (tem bastantes mesas, mas há bastante distancia entre as mesmas) e um bonito pátio com oliveiras e limoeiros que ajudam a criar um espaço bastante bonito e agradável para uma bela tarde de verão. A ementa do restaurante tem um toque madeirense (a cadeia dos hotéis é dessa região) e vários pratos de outras regiões de portugal. Para entrada pedimos umas Lapas na Frigideira com bolo do caco e manteiga de alho que estavam simplesmente divinais! As lapas vinham a borbulhar e bastante frescas, e o bolo do caco foi o melhor que já comi, fofo e tão saboroso. Como pratos principais pedimos Porco Bisarro na frigideira (com batata, cebola caramelizada e cogumelos lagarto) e Jarrete de Borrego (com crosta de broa de milho, e batata esmagada). Ambos os pratos vinham bem servidos e com uma excelente apresentação. O borrego foi sem dúvida o melhor, suculento e tenro, desfazia-se na boca, irresistível! O porco, apesar de muito bom, acabou por ser um prato um pouco banal pois não houve nada que surpreendesse. Para sobremesa, a cereja no topo do bolo, ambas maravilhosas. Escolhemos o Choco "snick" ben (barra de chocolate inspirada num snickers) e o Pastel de maçã (com azeite , louro e creme de ovos). O Choco "snick" tinha uma apresentação digna de pastelaria francesa (parecia aquelas que se vêm no masterchef na TV!), com várias camadas de sabor e ingredientes, surpreendeu em tudo, até dava pena desfazer aquela obra prima. O pastel, mesmo tendo um aspecto rústico estava perfeito no sabor, uma combinação de sabores bastante diferente e deliciosa. Para além da comida,o maior ponto positivo vai para o serviço. Simplesmente irrepreensível! Sinceramente não me lembro de ser atendido assim em lado nenhum, todos os empregados eram extremamente simpáticos (quase todos madeirenses) e muito competentes, ajudando a tornar o ambiente menos formal, mantendo-se sempre elegante e sofisticado. Ficam aqui os meus parabéns à equipa. Não existem restaurantes perfeitos, mas o Bistro4 acertou em todos os pontos. Serviço, comida e espaço 5*. Só podia levar uma nota máxima.

Nice new restaurant inside the hotel Portobay Liberdade. The cuisine is from French and from Madeira influence. The service is excellent and the waiters are very gentle. We went there twice since it was so good.
