I really can't praise the experience at Bistro Edelweiss enough. My wife and I had an superb dining experience. Lisbon is full of nice restaurants, and there are more and more coming everyday. However, there is a lot of redundancy in the options Lisbon presents the diner. Bistro Edelweiss is unique in many aspects - from the menu choices to the quality of cheeses and wine selection and including the personal service - but excels in each of them. They provide a hearty but refined option I have been craving.
If you are looking for high-quality food in a cozy atmosphere you won't find better than the hospitality at Bistro Edelweiss.

If you feel an urge for Swiss food while in Lisbon this is the place. Interior looks like a ski lodge from the 70s. Menus available in English and staff is very helpful and can show images of most dishes if you are not sure what it might be. They also speak excellent English and can give you advice.

Incredible, mouth watering food. Amazing service. We had the veal stroganoff and the wild mushroom vol au vent and it was so homely, rich and comforting. The service was so attentive, thorough and quick, without being overbearing, loved the touch of the visual accompaniment to help you make your (very difficult because there is so much greatness!) choice! The seats at the tables were so comfortable, the aesthetic was gorgeous and homely and retro. When I return to Lisbon I will definitely be coming here, with more people! Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Para quem conhece a Suíça, ao entrar neste estabelecimento tem a nítida sensação de entrar no País propriamente dito. Os aromas, cheiros e decoração representam a Suíça verdadeiramente. A simpatia de todo o staff é genial. O proprietário é verdadeiramente acolhedor e só promove boas sugestões. O fondue de queijo é óptimo! As sobremesas típicas são top! Uma experiência a repetir pelo menos 1x/mês. Para a qualidade dos produtos utilizados, não achei os preços nada exagerados (tendo inclusivé em conta a localização na moda).

Porque 40 euros por pessoa é mesmo um bocado, apenas por isso não leva todas, mas se pudesse dar 4,5*, aí dava....

A cockroach running around and getting onto my daughter and me ruined the dinner. The vol au vent with sweatbreads and morilles was a major disappointment. The staff was friendly.

Like many others we stumbled across this place by random having just arrived in Lisbon, and lucky we did as it was such a warm and friendly welcome to Portuguese hospitality - albeit with Swiss food! The staff are great and really looked after our young child, the food is excellent with a really good range of vegetarian options and good choice of sides to go with the main. The decor is full retro chalet/kitsch/tech mashup. Great fun and a great dinner.

É um restaurante suiço... É preciso ser fã de comida suiça... Eu sou e gosto muito do restaurante. O atendimento é 5 estrelas. O dono é super simpatico, conversador, orgulhoso do seu restaurante e tem um sotaque muuuito engrrrráçádo. O preço, é puxadote... Também deve ser suiço...

Very tasty retro place in Lisbon. The entetior design is hilarious very friendly staff. They have the well known German beers. We left after one beer because we realised the prises are also on a German level more expansive than places in similar categories in Lisbon...

You know those places that can transport you into a completely different setting? Well Edelweiss was one of them for us. The atmosphere was romantic and cool, not noisy at all, the chefs spoke in french and swiss(i think) and the lightning was just superb. The food itself was also quite good, tho we did find the bread a bit stale and not good. Much cheaper then it looks, a definite must go if you are into cheesy dishes !

A stylish retro Swiss place with excellent fondue to warm you up in Winter. Amazing hot wine, delicious ice cream and beautiful homemade desserts the chef has made from family recipes. I want to come back to try the mushroom soap, but all the menu looks so tasty. The waiter was kind and even though it was a busy booked out Saturday evening, he found a table for us.

Restaurant suisse, assez sympatique. L'ambiance est très rustique, vous pouvez y retrouver du rouge/blanc suisse, les plats typique, raclette a la part mais vous avez aussi la fondu savoyarde. C'est très bon, mais un peu chère. Il faut compter 25 euros minimum par personne. La présentation est très belle.

Un restaurant suisse au cadre chaleureux (le patron parle français). L'intérieur est boisé et typique ça vous transportera dans le Tyrol. Les plats sont bons, goûteux et généreux. N'hésitez pas à pousser la porte et vous asseoir autour d'une table pour bien manger et y passer un bon moment. Le restaurant est calme et un peu excentré du centre ville touristique.

Great sixties interiors, friendly staff. My food (cheese spätzle) was very average for an above average price, poor choice of dry white/rosé (local) wines (they also have international wines). The carrot sticks and grissinis (couvert) came with an awful premade cocktail sauce.

Found this restaurant by accident and loved everything about it. We order fondue and it's was delicious. Great service and the place looks likes a post card from the 70s. Fore sure a 5 star rating.

O espaço é quente, muito acolhedor, assim como o interior de uma casa de família nórdica! Intervenção muito interessante no tecto e uma montra que convida quem passa a entrar, principalmente em noites frias ou chuvosas. Carta de vinhos reduzidissima mas boas cervejas, afinal é um restaurante Suíço!

We stumbled upon this restaurant late one night in Lisbon, it was a real treat!. The restaurant has a lovely Swiss feel and amazing Swiss food. The menu options were quite diverse and all looked amazing, it was so hard to decide...especially difficult because the menu is presented with a picture of each dish. Compliments to the chef for coming up with such a great spread! The food was awesome, the service was excellent as well. It was fun to be served by the co-owner, who happened to be a fellow Canadian! Small world!

Marc is the most gracious and warm host I've experienced in Europe (quite possibly further). Knowledgable staff, take their time to ensure the fish is right for you and the meal is meeting expectations.
Swiss German restaurant with great daily menu plus regular menu. Appetisers were by far the stars of the menu, however we were also pleased with the entrees and desserts.
I'd recommend, will recommend to those traveling and will be back as well.

Waren sehr zufrieden. Obwohl die Gerichte nichts exotisches für deutsche sind, hat der schweizer Gastwirt uns alle Gerichte geduldig erklärt (mit Bildern auf dem Tablet). Er hat uns darauf hingewiesen, dass wir die Gerichte auch abändern können. Das Filet Mignon war gut, auch wenn ich nicht gefragt wurde, wie ich's haben wollte. Die Pizokel (oder so- gebratene Häufchen von Kartoffelpüree und Parmesan) waren himmlisch. Die Bohnen waren ok. Die Maronenspätzli mit Steinpilzen waren sehr lecker. Vorspeise und Nachtisch (Raclette und Schokokuchen) waren sehr gut. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend. Auch der Koch hat nachgefragt, wie es schmeckt. Das Ambiente war gemütlich, entspannend. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Scientifically incredible, delicious food with unique, fun atmosphere! One of the best dining experiences of my life! You cannot go wrong here! Mark is was so incredibly attentive, helpful, brilliant, and went out of his way to accommodate my boyfriend and I. We loved that he had photos for everything on the menu for clear, accessible information that anyone could understand, plus he speaks 5 different languages! All this and it was affordable! :) Please do yourself a favor and dine at Bistro Edelweiss! You will not be disappointed! ♡

This was one of the highlights of our visit of Portugal. My girlfriend and i came here on a whim.... We love and seek out good food. We have gone to many acclaimed 5 star restaurants in the states and this was better than basically any of them. The serving was perfect size and every bite was immaculate. Our host Mark was so passionate about this place and it shows in every aspect. Please do yourself a favor and visit :)

An amazing place - the decor is very 70s Swiss ski-chalet kitsch, but there's so much amazing detail and beautiful design, from the water glasses (70s vintage) and the way the tables are laid, to the lamps and vintage television sets.
The food is delicious - home cooked Swiss staples like Spatzli, Zurich Stroganoff and Vol-au-vent. The cauliflower soup with cranberry sauce (hot or cold, I had it cold) is particularly delicious, as is the ginger, carrot and salmon soup. They also do fondue, served with a little Kirschwasser for you to dip your bread in! And the chef's twist on Pizokels - a kind of light, fluffy gnocchi - is amazing. Recipes from the chef's grandmother, mother and sister fill up the dessert menu, they're particularly good. They also have amazing ice cream and a wonderful mind and elderflower sorbet (the "Heidi") from Nannarella's gelateria.
The owners - Marc and chef Adu - are so lovely! They speak about 6 languages and are a great laugh. Thoroughly recommend this place...go there to have some delicious home-cooked Swiss food and enjoy the decor and company :)

A nice change from the traditional Portuguese food found around Lisbon. Very quiet calm atmosphere. The menu is even on an iPad that you can look through to see all the dishes. The waiters are very informed and knowledgeable about their current menu offerings.

Very tasty and reasonably priced. No English menu, so they showed the dishes on an iPad. Filet and pork was amazing. It is definitely worth a try. They also have Gelato from the best Gelato place on TripAdvisor Lisbon.

We both had the peasoup which was really good. Main course wurst and fillet mignon which we both thought was excellent and the dessert(something with apple) simply blew our minds. Everything for a descent price! Great atmosphere and the host speaks multiple languages.

Jantar a dois fabuloso. Bom para quem gosta de se sentir em casa e aprecia boa comida. O ambiente é acolhedor, a comida deliciosa e o dono, que foi quem nos serviu, uma simpatia.
A casa de banho estava igualmente impecável.
O preço rondou os vinte e poucos euros para cada um de nós, mas bebemos cerveja belga, comemos entradas e dividimos uma sobremesa, igualmente deliciosa.

Situated in the Principe Real neighbourhood this cosy restaurant is perfect for cold or rainy nights in Lisbon because of it's warm decoration with such good use of lights making look like so much sun filling the place through large windows. They have great homemade dishes and even an amazing choice of soups which is a nice touch. A vegetarian choice is also always at hand and the owners even go for special dietary request if possible.
