Praia da Luz ist sehr beschaulich mit kleiner Promenade am Strand. Abends kann man ein Bier trinken und eine Pizza essen. Im Sommer wahrscheinlich ziemlich voll. Im Mai war es perfekt!

This beach is excellent. So warm and calm, perfect if you bringing family.. also there some really nice hidden spots to the left of the beach as you face the sea. And to the right some really nice rock to explore. There are toilets, disabled access and activities not to mention the bars and restaurants... Have fun... !! You won't regret...

This is an extremely beautiful beach near Lagos. There's tons of sand here for the kids to enjoy as well as some playground swings. The cliffs are off in the distance so more of the beach can be enjoyed without the fear of a rock fall. This beach has a number of bars and restaurants along it, as well as a public toilet. Very well maintained and clean beach area. There seemed to be many tourists enjoying the beach during our visit on a lazy Friday afternoon in December.

I recommend to stay away from this Beach, especially as a women. I was threatend by 6 guys while waiting for my husband who was walking the dogs in the evening and i was waiting inside the car. They forced me to leave without him...

Nice beach that caters for everyone tastes. You can stay near west end close to promenade, shops and restaurants and walk towards east end for a more secluded experience.
You will find all the usual amenities here in addition to Roman Ruins (entrance from the promenade west from the beach)
You can also walk along the cliffs to the east all the way to the Praia de Porto de Mos. The trails starts between the buildings, not the beach itself - aim towards the big obelisk on top of the cliff visible from the beach. Cliff top is a perfect place to watch the sunset and take lovely evening photos.

Praia simpática e com água muito limpida e pouca ondulação (o que é excelente para crianças). Estivemos em Agosto e não estava demasiado cheia, quando comparada com outras praias no Algarve na mesma altura. No entanto a água estava bastante fria (temperaturas comparáveis com praias perto de Lisboa, como Carcavelos).

Praia da Luz is a very quiet nice place to spend some days, or if that's the case, to live in. The population is divided between locals, English people (always so polite) French and Germans. There are awesome restaurants and pubs by the beach. In the night there's always some entertainment either on the streets or in the Pubs. Also in the entrance coming from Lagos, one can find two stores run by English Ladies, who sell used clothes and stuff, and whose profit go to Charity. These stores are a MUST!

Es una playa bonita, con una zona rocosa donde puedes ver a una fauna variopinta. Sin embargo, la playa es estropeada por las construcciones tan próximas al agua, es una pena.
La playa es amplia, si te quedas en la parte más próxima al pueblo mucha gente, pero si caminas un poco hacia la zona de los acantilados suele estar más despejado. Evidentemente la zona de piedras suele estar bastante despejada

Very cozy little town only 15' away from the city of Lagos. The city is overlooked from a nearby rock cliff lying next to the Luz' beach. A little too crowded by tourists (especially English) which takes the edge of its authenticity. It's very clean and mostly calm so currently recommendable for families.

Wide smooth sandy beach with a gentle slope. A large beach compared to those nearby, with many restaurants and amenities. Great for kids. There is a small playground by one of the restaurants. A boardwalk connects to the street where there is a large (paid) parking lot. Easy walk to a market and into the small town.

Keine Hunde erlaubt. Auch nicht an der Leine. Die typische anti-hund-mentalität in Südeuropa, die in Spanien mit Abstand am schlimmsten ist.
Laut "lifeguard", der mich sofort angesprochen hat als ich meinen Schirm aufstellen wollte wird es aber nördlich vom Strand in Richtung der Klippen toleriert und da hat auch niemand was gesagt wenn der Hund mal kurz ohne Leine herumgelaufen ist.

Es una buena playa, aunque las hay mucho mejores por la zona. Muy bonita la parte rocosa del oeste de la playa. En el parking te cobran 2€ por todo el día. Hay bastantes restaurantes en Luz enfocados al turismo inglés principalmente. Poco ambiente nocturno. Ideal si buscas tranquilidad y ambiente agradable.

Love this place,been coming here for 15 years. Beautiful beach and a good atmosphere. Plenty of good little cafes, bars and restaurants. Something for everyone. Mainly villas and apartments. Family friendly. Not the cheapest place in the area but you don't have to spend a fortune. The locals are very friendly.

Einer der vielen Strände dieser Region, der nicht zu den imposanteren zählt. Auch hier sieht man überwiegend Wellenreiter im Wasser. Das Dorf Luz selbst ist einen Besuch wert, wenn man in der Ecke Urlaub macht, wie wir. Eine nette kleine Promenade führt oberhalb des Strandes vorbei. Hier gibt es div. Läden und vor allem Restaurants.

Playa de arena fina, al lado de un paseo maritimo con muchos puestos callejeros, bares y restaurantes con música en directo.
La zona esta plagada de apartamentos turisticos y complejos que le dan un aire de pueblo sin llegar a la masificación de Albufeira. Cerca de Lagos.

Praia limpa de areia amarela e super fina. Bom local para banhos apesar da agua gelada que estava hoje. A praia tem estacionamento pago mas não tem muitos lugares. Tem um bar restaurante sobre a praia e 2 locais/empresas para divertimentos aquaticos. Que por consequência deixam um cheiro a combustivel no ar que é desagradável.

Der Strand von Luz ist sehr angenehm. Auf der kleinen Strandpromenade finden sich einige Bars und Cafés, oben an der Kirche ist eine sehr gute Eisdiele. Wasser und Sand sind sauber und die Lifeguards achten auf die Sicherheit. Die Parkplätze sind natürlich rar, aber nach kurzem Suchen haben wir jedes Mal etwas gefunden.

Good beach with good sand and not too agitated waters. Plenty of tourists though, water activities and families. Often crowded then. Water is clean at least but it's not among the best Algarve beaches for sure.

Very nice beach. Mostly families. Some beach activities and some water activities such as tubing.
Hiking nearby has some pretty views.
This beach is also lined with restaurants, most of which are still owned by local folks.

Heerlijk rustig kleinschalige dorp en strand. Niet overdreven toeristische trekpleister. Genoeg eet en drink gelegenheden. Wel reserveren voor diner. Niet opdringerig. Parkeerplaats aan het strand voor €2.- per dag. Prima plek voor met jonge kinderen en de wat oudere mens.

La playa es bastante amplia, tranquila en el mes de junio aunque con aguas muy frías, pero súper limpias y cristalinas. Arena muy fina. Me ha encantado, no está para nada masificada por estas fechas y se puede acceder muy bien.
Los edificios de alrededor son apartamentos y bares que no estropean demasiado las vistas, parece un pueblecito marinero.

Una spiaggia ampia e tranquilla. Ci sono docce e wc free, ma anche la spiaggia attrezzata con sdraio e ombrelloni. Ci sono anche i giochi da acqua trainati dal motoscafo.

Toller Strand und dazu hat man auch noch seine Ruhe. Der Ausblick ist total toll, weil man aufs offene Meer schaut und dazu noch die tolle Klippe an der Seite hat. Auch einige Restaurants sind in der direkten Nähe.

This is a fantastic beach resort as a whole, with one long beach set up with sea front restaurants, rockpools and speedboats ready to whisk you away into an adventure at a moment's notice. The restaurants in the area are superb. The sea can be cold because of its geographical location to the Atlantic, however, and the area as a whole can be seen as a bit run down due to crumbling buildings and empty, barren spaces that you walk past going up the hill away from the beach. Pre-booking taxis may be essential as they are in high demand and short supply and local bus services are a complete joke. Otherwise, if you intend to simply stay here and enjoy the heat of Portuguese summer, it is a simply amazing location.

Sehr schöner kleiner Strand. Etwa 300 Meter lang. Daher auch etwas voller. Die Schirme sind hier auch etwas teurer. 14€. Aber das Wasser ist ruhiger. Da muss man keine Angst haben abgetrieben zu werden. Der Ort am Strand lädt zum Verweilen ein. Sehr nett hier. Achja die umliegenden Appartements versorgen den ganzen Strand mit freiem WLAN

Playa familiar agradable
Es una playa ancha, tipo urbana y familiar, por lo que hay bastante gente, pero no resulta agobiante. En agosto agua fresquita (no fría). Recomendable para ir con niños, aunque si lo que buscas es una playa tranquila donde desconectar quizás esta no sea tu playa.

Einer meiner Lieblingsstrände, da man ohne Probleme und größere Gefahren schwimmen und tauchen kann. Im Hochsommer ist es aber extrem heiß und überladen von Touristen, was das ganze wesentlich unattraktiver macht. Durch die vielen kleinen Bars und der Restaurants in der Nähe kann man auch zu teils vernünftigen Preisen Speisen und die trinken

Kann man machen, muss man aber nicht. Auf dem Weg hierhin sind wir an so vielen tollen Spots vorbeigekommen, dass sich dieser Strand nicht wirklich eingeprägt hat. Für alle diejenigen, die schonmal auf Fuerte waren: Weiterfahren :)

Sehr schöner Strand der weitläufig und nicht überladen ist. Manko ist der motorisierte Wassersport sowie die angebotenen Ausflüge über Wasser welche von Booten mit alter 2-Takt Technik begleitet werden. Das riecht sehr unangenehm und teilweise sieht man das dem Wasser auch an. Wenn in ferner Zukunft die motore auf umweltfreundlichere 4-Takter umgestellt werden, ist dies der schönste Strand der Umgebung.
Bis zum letzten Jahr gab es an der Strandtoilette auch eine kostenlose (wenn auch kalt). Diese ist dieses Jahr gesperrt und ich hoffe das dies nur einer Renovierung geschuldet und demnächst wieder offen ist. Bis dahin muss auf die kostenpflichtige des hiesigen Restaurants ausgewichen werden (hier dann auch warm und kostet 0,20€/min).
Im übrigen wird hier auch fleißig an einem neuen Restaurant "auf der Strandfläche" gebaut. Ob sich das zu sehr Richtung Tourismus verbaut und wir uns einen neuen ruhigen Flecken suchen mussen, wird die Zukunft zeigen

Nice and quiet compared to many holiday resorts. Especially out of season. The beach is nice and clean and the restaurants are plentiful with a good variety of food. There are coastal walks to enjoy if it is not too hot. There appears to be many apartments which are holiday lets. Listening to the tourists in October most were from UK Sweden or Germany.

Es kann schon mal voller werden und das was offiziell die öffentlichen Toiletten sind, kann man eigentlich vergessen. Ansonsten hat der Strand auch seine optischen Reize. Gerade mit den Felsen und wenn sich abends, bei günstigen Bedingungen, die Sonne für einen Moment an der Steilküste spiegelt.
