While on our family holiday, we fancied something different food wise for a night.
Curry was on the cards, so we had a look at some reviews to make sure we could find a good one (after all it’s horrible paying good money for bad food), and we came across this restaurant.
As soon as we walked in we were met with a smile and the host was very welcoming and friendly.
Once the poppadoms arrived and pickles we were pleasantly surprised even how nice that was everything tasted very fresh and full of flavour.
The main meal turned up and it was served in some warming dishes which was brilliant could see them bubbling away so it’s going to be warm really warm. Everything to seem to be quite good and so fresh and tasty A really pleasant evening all round thumbs up from us.

Wir waren am letzten Mittwoch im Indian Curry House und das Essen war perfekt. Ambiente ist in Ordnung und der Service Weltklasse. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Werden zum Abschluss unseres Urlaubs sogar nochmal dort essen gehen.

Without doubt this is now the best Indian food in Town, in fact never had a better curry in any other country. Had great take a way perfectly cooked with amazing flavours, clearly a very good chef who’s knowledge of spices is second to none. Highly recommend.

During our time in Portugal, we’ve liked to walk to restaurants but we made an exception for this one after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint. I had some choices picked out before we arrived after reading the reviews but the owner suggested the Hyderabadi (with chicken) which is on the new menu to be released in a few days and it was amazing. We ordered it “hot” and it’s this amazing cornucopia of flavors. A month ago, we were in several cities in India at Holi Festival and this meal was better than all of those. It’s a restaurant not to miss!

Five of us went here for a curry and not a single complaint. Great starters and an even better curry. All perfectly cooked and piping hot when served.
Staff were friendly and attentive and the food bill was more than reasonable.
We would certainly use this restaurant again if we return to Alvor.

Nachdem das Indian Curry House bei Trip Advisor auf Platz 2 lag haben wir (obwohl sonst niemand dort war) unser Glück versucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht: super leckeres Chicken Tikka Masala und leckeres vegetarisches Dal!
Auch das Nan ist sehr zu empfehlen.
Die Bedienung war super nett und alles wurde sehr schön serviert.
Gerne wieder!

I went to Portugal for holidays and love the taste of food there. I wish I go there again so I can eat the tastey food again. And I took a take away to my hotel and my kids loved it and they said want go Portugal again and the restaurant.

Had a very good take away lunch from here. The order was all correct. Can definitely recommend the chef special Lababdar curry it was excellent. We asked for both curries spice level 'hot' and they were. Will be back.

Sehr gute Essen dazu ein freundliches und professionelle Bedienung. Wir waren beim spazieren gehen auf diesen Restaurant gestoßen weil ihr so bisschen abseits liegt. Es ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert. Nach wünsch kann man so schärfe von Gerichten bekommen wie man will so wie man aus Indien kennt. Sehr lecker .

Good choice. If you like Indian food and are in Alvor then the Curry House, recently reopened, is a must. Great food, good value and friendly attentive staff. Give it a try you will not be dissapointed.

We have eaten here a few times now and can highly recommend it! Friendly, helpful staff, good service and tasty food. Lovely fresh, crunchy poppadoms with a wide range of sauces..plus they do home delivery!

Me and my husband are really femeiler and love Indian food.
We came to this place without any expectation but to have small lunch and we found ourself on a real surprise !! The meals were really delicious!! One of the best we had in Portugal!! .We will come

Waren heute dort.Lokal ab sofort geöffnet,nicht erst ab Mitte März.Das Essen supergut.Große schmackhafte Portionen.

Das Personal ist gut geschult und bietet sämtliche Köstlichkeiten der ayurvedischen Küche an.
Ich habe das letzte mal in Indien so gutes indisches Essen gegessen.
Sehr freundliches Personal was stets bemüht war das man einen schönen Abend hat.
Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen

Hammer Essen! War mit zwei Freunden dort, wir hatten alle unterschiedliche Gerichte und alle waren ausgezeichnet! Service sehr gut, Ambiente zum wohlfühlen. Waren wirklich sehr begeistert und kommen gerne wieder!

Ordered for a take away. Must say the food was authentic, properply cooked, taste was far ahead of other indian restaurant in the region nearby. Quiet and cozy place. Its a must visit place if you are looking for authentic indian food.

Excellent food and service
Forget the commercial madras, Rogan etc just go for the lamb curry medium or medium plus. Naan breads and rice cooked to perfection.

Best Indian food I have found on the Algarve so far, we had lamb, chicken and prawn dishes with various sides and all were very good. We finished with pistachio and mango kulfi for dessert and again was delicious - couldn't fault anything with the experience tonight and would highly recommend anyone to visit here

De lejos, el mejor (y el único) restaurante hindú que he probado. Muy rico y sabroso. Personalmente no me gusta el cilantro, pero estaba tan integrado en los platos que entraba con facilidad! Sino conoces la carta, te asesoran en varios idiomas. Trato atento y agradable, pero el estoque final un poco caro, no obstante, pagué gustosamente.

We are in summer holidays in Alvor, decided to order some Indian food from this place. Delivery super quick - deserves 7 star. Food came burning hot, very nice, tasty and fresh food. Authentic North Indian taste of food.
Will we eat again from this place? Defo YES.

Please don't confuse these guys with the Indian just up the street, just under the bridge as you walk towards the intermarché down hill into the town. This place is so good, the staff are extremely helpful and so attentive to the needs of the customer. The have a small kids menu but hey, all kids want are chicken nuggets or fish fingers! My wife took the liberty of asking the staff to make me a VERY spicy vindaloo which was so full of flavour but yet oh so spicy! This blew me away! To the average person it was inedible but this was exactly what I wanted. You could taste the flavour of every herb, seed, spice, all of it. THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION! Anything we asked for was no trouble to the staff and when I went to compliment the chef he was so full of thanks and just so happy someone enjoyed his food. This is somewhere inplan to return to each and every time I come back to portugal!

All 3 of us had chicken tikka masalla. Sauce was quite thin and not very tasty. Maybe a personal taste. Rice was nice and naan breads were lovely. Staff very friendly.

Been coming to Alvor for three years try first time Indian restaurants in Alvor and really good experience with INDIAN CURRY HOUSE ALVOR

We had dinner here and were impressed. I ordered a chicken madras but changed to the house special variant on the waiters advice which was full of flavour and the right amount of spice. My partner ordered chicken tikka masala but again changed to the house special variant and she was also happy with her choice. The service was prompt although it wasn't busy on our visit.

2nd time here and we must say it's the best indian restaurant in Alvor, bye far! Super good service and the food is high quality. It's an open kitchen so you can see some of the cooking, which is fun to watch. Nice prices and the waiter will have some special dishes he recommends!:) Could get some curtains and living candles to make it bit more exclusive. Everything else is absolute perfect and couldn't recommend it more. Just do it!

Great food and hospitality! Got the table right away upon the arrival. The house specialities has been presented with a smile, and we went for the waiters recommendations. That was right choice. Food was tasty and well made. The naan breads (cheese and garlic one) were fantastic. Must visit when in Alvor!

Coming from Toronto we have some high standards as they relate to Indian food and this place exceeded them all. Absolutely delicious. I would recommend anybody looking for a break from traditional Portuguese food to visit this establishment. Don't mind the decor, the food and service was excellent.

Lovely curry here last night- can highly recommend the Xacuiti lamb, melt in the mouth lamb and fabulous sauce. Great Rogan Josh as well with good pilau rice and lovely naan bread. Excellent friendly staff and very good service- wish we'd found this place earlier in our holiday but will definitely be back next year!

Provavelmente dos melhores restaurantes indianos onde já comi. Pedimos 4 pratos diferentes e eram todos muito bons, o tika masala estava delicioso! O serviço foi muito atencioso e rápido o suficiente. O preço é aceitável para a qualidade que tem. Vou voltar de certeza!

Provei os quiabos e sinceramente já comi várias vezes esta tradicional receita indiana muito mais bem confeccionada.
Cheio de óleo sem o tradicional molho que envolve os quiabos.
O serviço desorganizado o espaço pobre apesar de estar muito bem localizado em Alvor.
No final da refeição aquele que deveria ser o responsável ou patrão veio á mesa quase impor uma critica favorável no site the fork ou trip advisor simplesmente falta de bom senso.
Caro para o que oferecem mais um bom restaurante para forasteiros.

Recommended by friends..thank you. Had honey prawns, mushroom rice and a chicken dish I let them choose with tomatoes, spice wow. Couldn't eat everything took some home. Worth finding as it's behind the supermarket. They also do take aways
