Very nice food. I'd happily recommend it to anybody looking for a quality Indian dinner. Went to Clay Oven during this trip and both places are equally as nice. It does get busy after 8 as there was no space for people after us. They take bookings and I'd recommend it during peak season

Absolutely amazing food. Very large portions. Very accommodating to my dietary needs I am Vegan and I had the vegetable byiani but the chef kindly changed the sauce to a tomato based sauce for me as all dishes contain milk. Great staff, friendly, happy and inviting. Lovely food lovely atmosphere thank you very much would visit again when in Portugal

Had the chicken Madas and Bhindi bhaji (ladies fingers) with chapati and roti. Very good service and friendly staff who speak great english and clean. Highly recommend if you like authentic Indian food. Thank you Davinder for a lovely dinner experience.

On holiday and found this little gem, food is stunning, great staff and so entertaining! Coming from Manchester UK this was by far the best food we have tasted in a long time, so authentic and a MUST visit x

Pleasantly suprised and would absolutly go again and recommend to others. Very nice vegetarian options, excellent spicy onion bhaji (fritters) and somosas. Chana masala was mild and creamy, but the winner of the meal was a beautifully rich and flavorful saag paneer- wow! One of the better versions we've had. We opted for the chapati bread which arrived hot and nicely brushed with ghee.

The vegetarian starters were excellent and the recommended spinach paneer also just lovely. The vegetable biriany was ok, but not too special and a little low on cashews. We like spicy and it was a good amount for us, not too much. Friendly staff and we were happy it was still open till the end of the year.

Visited on a week night, received a warm welcome from a friendly waiter. Good choice of meals, served in good time, never felt rushed. Were offered a free post meal drink, chose port which was lovely.

Fui à descoberta, um pouco reticente mas adorei a experiência de sabores intensos. Comemos frango com manga e borrego kashimiri, acompanhar escolhemos arroz com vegetais, pão com mel e pinhões. Já tinha ido a outro restaurante indiano e este sem dúvida muito bom.

This restaurant is just at the edge of the boisterous bar scene in old town. We new we were in a good Indian restaurant because it was full of Brits. The staff were friendly and talkative. They really made the dining experience fun. The food was very good. The meat was tender, the sauces flavorful, and the naan was perfect. I would definitely go back

Foi a minha segunda vez num restaurante indiano. Para mim estava tudo impecável, gostei mais do Frango Balti com a dose certa de picante (para un principiante em picantes). Também comemos o Borrego Tikka masala e estava bom. As doses podiam ter um pouco mais de carne (considerando doses europeias) mas o sabor compensa a quantidade! Foi uma boa experiência, recomendo.

Found insect in rice. Possibly baby c.r. service was poor, waited 30 mins after finishing meal before I took dish with insect to waiter and asked for bill. Was offered small discount. Too busy (only 2 waiters) for Sat night. You can do better in Albufeira. This one I would avoid. Worst restaurant experience in Albufeira we have had unfortunately.

The food might be great but the service/host was really arrogant and disrespectful. We called to reserve but then we were asked to reserve through their website. We arrived with the confirmation code generated from the website reservation. It was as no reservation had been made and the fault was put on us. "What do you whant me to do?" he told us and no apology for their terrible logistics and arrogant behaviour. Sad. On the good side, there are other good Indian restaurants around the corner.

Food was ok/nice but the service was incredibly slow. So much so that the German couple beside us almost left and understandably so. Both parties waited circa 1 hour 15 minutes for their food to arrive. Only due to the great reputation did we wait. Half of our party had either cold or average food. One meal was incorrect and half the meals were OK. My meal was reasonable but not as good as an English Indian restaurant. Slightly disappointed due to the wait and love if Indian food, however, this might just have been an off day. The food was good enough to enjoy and I could see glimpses of quality so maybe give it a try.

Came here tonight absolutely fantastic and authentic Indian Restaraunt. Food was lovely. Staff very accomodating and went to the local shop to get my son a desert. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

TERRIBLE STAFF AND TREATMENT I had one of the worst experiences at this restaurant ever. My wife and I decided to go to the Spice lounge for dinner along with another Indian couple who were holidaying with us. The moment we entered the restaurant we were accosted yes accosted by the waiter who asked us to step out of the restaurant and told us that seating is by reservation only. I respect the choice a restaurant makes when asking to reserve in advance but here are a few points that didn't add up to what the waiter was saying 1) It was 10:00 pm in the night and we counted a minimum of 15 empty seats. The place was due to shut at 2:30am as the Internet mentions and the waiter said that they were going to shut at 11:30 last night. Which still gives us an hour!!! 2) No signage near the restaurant mentions that seating was with reservations only It gets worse... Harrowed we walked across to another Indian restaurant where another couple (white) sitting beside us heard our horrid experience. They offered to cross check for us and they'd called the spice lounge and when they did the waiter said No reservations were needed and seating was on a first come first serve basis. Additionally we mentioned this to one of the waiters in the restaurant we were in and hedd mentioned that the spice lounge is notorious for this tactic towards Indian travellers They avoid Indian people sitting in the restaurant as the restaurant won't look "attractive" (word quoted verbatim) It's sad that a place which we reviewed to have good food and a great rating has resorted to racist tactics. Terrible place terrible staff definitely not going to reccomend.

De serveerders waren erg aardig, ondanks ze niet goed Engels konden. Het eten was erg lekker en echt Indies. Je hoefde niet lang te wachten. En het was niet echt een vreetschuur wat je bij heelveel restaurants hebt in deze buurt.

The food was delicous! From spicy to mild, to rice to naan you can choose everything according to how you wish! We will come back again, when we‘re craving for indian food in Albufeira! (We had prawn vindalhoo (super spicy!!) and chicken tikka masala)

Came here on Valentine's day, selected because of its 5 star status on trip advisor and it did not disappoint. The staff were amazing, the food was amazing.

Heeeerlijk gegeten! Camarão korma (garnalen gekookt in cocossaus), knoflook rijst en Cocosbrood. Symphatiek personeel ook. Voor dessert kan je wel ergens anders heen. Dat zijn namelijk prijzige supermarkt ijsjes. Al met al, zeker een aanrader.

Genuinely delicious food, will be back soon *Edit, came back a few days later, and it was just as good as the last time.

Tasty authentic Indian food, highly recommend this place to eat if you’re in old town. Tried the mushroom bhaji and garlic chilli chicken with coconut rice, with a bottle of wine. Simply the best Indian I’ve had ever!! Other than home made. It is true punjabi style!

Os recomiendo que no vayáis a cenar a este restaurante. Al poco de llegar, sentarnos y pedir lo que ibamos a cenar cadauno, vimos una cucaracha paseándose por la mesa y dos más muertas en el suelo, por lo que, nos propusieron cambiarnos de mesa. Pese a no estar muy conformes, nos quedamos a cenar. Mientras estaba comiendo el arroz encontré un pelo en mi plato (el asco ya se apoderó de mi!!) y para acabar de rematar en los chupitos finales que nos trajeron habían dos mini cucarachas más en un uno de los vasos. Fue una experiencia muy desagradable y creo que este lugar no tiene en condiciones óptimas su comida ni su cocina, así que no estaría demás que sanidad les hiciera una inspección.

This site is crazy! This was by far the wost experience I ever had in a restaurant. Just after getting our table, we started seeing insects running around the table. The staff offered us a new one and we decided to give them a second chance! After having dinner we got a Ginja shots and then was when I was about to drink two little cockroach that where floating inside the shot. It was so disgusting! And I could not believe what I was seeing. Can’t understand how this place has 5 stars, it is absolutely impossible! The food was not spicy at all and today I don’t feel very well, I’m pretty sure this place does not pass any healthy measures and safety sanity checks. This is not a jouke! If you care about your health do not go!

The worst place I have even been to. When we ordered the food and we were waiting we found a cockroach on the table, we were about to leave but then the waiter offered another table and said sorry and we accepted (awful mistake). Once we ate our food we were drinking our shots and there were TWO small dead cokcraches inside one of the shots. We obviously did not pay for the meal and I am looking for the health inspection number of Portugal so they can close down this place. DO NOT GO!

La comida buenisima y los camareros super simpaticos, no tienen al tipico pesao en la puerta ofreciendote que vayas y esta un poquito apartado del epicentro turistico. Recomendable

This Indian was fantastic. I have had many Curry’s abroad while on holiday and this one by far has been the best. The food was as good as any curry I have had in the UK. Highly recommend!

It's a must visit when you go to Albufeira. I first ate at spice lounge 10 years ago, and had to return! Amazing price, beautiful food and great service!

Today we went to the Spice Lounge together with our two kids (3 and 1 years of age). Our first impression was very good! Everything is very clean and the two guys working there were very friendly and also had a focus on entertaining the kids. So far so good! After ordering the dishes we got really delicious food, very tasty and a little bit spicy as we like it most. Not sure if it was the real Indian taste, as we have never been to India, but really really good! We will definitely come back next time when we are in Albufeira. Thanks Spice Lounge Team!

A little off the beaten track and no one trying to pressure you inside. A real gem, one of the best curries I've had... And I've had a fair few! Great wine too.

Very nice and tasty food. Only gave 3 stars due to the waiters are constantly hassling you and watching you while your eating...at the end of the meal one of them started nagging about giving them a TripAdvisor review there and then using there Wi-Fi. The food was fantastic but the waiters were a nightmare.

A beautiful ambience. They treat guest with proper respect and requirement. The food just tastes yum and would definitely visit again. The prawn pakora and chicken biriyani was the dishes ordered and they were just of perfect taste. Don't miss the prawn pakoras.

The food was not bad but the place is not very clean or sanitary. We found remnants of food and grease on our plates and a bug in our water glass. Bathrooms are not clean either.

Get your mango lassi here, and more! This is the tastiest Indian food I have had in a while. The lamb was succulent and the sweet sauce just perfect. The staff is most kind and hospitable. They are busy for a reason, so make a reservation. It is a great spot for a romantic night.

Food was lovely, well presented and reasonably priced. We were even given a complimentary drink on the house when leaving.

Really good Indian food at a fair price. Had the chicken Madras and loved it. It made my nose run a little, but worth it. My girlfriend had the chicken tandoori. Also really good. Presentation of the food is really good. The staff was also really friendly. I would recommend it and certainly would go again!

Amazing Indian food! Great service, and nice friendly staff. We will return again for sure! Have been to other Indian restaurants in Albufeira and Spice Lounge is absolutely the best. Vindaloo was wonderful, Saag Paneer and and Paneer Tikka Masala were a big hit as well! The bill was less then expected too. Thank you, and see you soon!!

Vindaloo was amazing I totally recommend it and the starter was great, Cobra served in ice glasses, the staff took care of us all nite and helped us celebrate the gift of life by serving port in a shot glass for all on the house as our dear mate father Alan informed us of his impending virginal birth!

Food took a while to come but was worth the wait and very fairly priced me and my partner had starters of chicken pakoras (amazing) onion bhajis and poppadums all delicious and mains of chicken jalfrezi and chicken madras with 2 lots of rice and a garlic a naan, it was very good, and the best madras I've ever had. All together it came to less than €50 with 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine, couldn't recommend this place anymore
