Wonderful restaurant! Relaxed ambience, first class food & service, excellent staff. Location & views second to none.

Uncomplicated dishes make for a better taste experience. The clam starter was especially tasty and goats cheese was nice too. Seabass main was enjoyable and the ribs weren't smothered in sauce. House wines drinkable. Very pleasant terrace. Service was first class.

Really enjoyed a relaxed sunny evening here havining three courses plus drinks for two for €75. The setting has fabulous views over the marina and sea. The food choices we selected were all very well presented and very tasty. We will definitely be back.

Heerlijk gegeten met mijn familie (13 personen, waaronder 2 kleine kids van 4 en 6 jaar). Vers en goed eten, aardige bediening en fijne ambiance. Aanrader!

Slightly slow service considering the restaurant wasn't really busy. Food good but made wrong choice myself. All round party of 10 reasonably satisfied. Good red wine confusing choices on the the white.

Our favourite restaurant that we went to during our Honeymoon in Portugal! We went back a second time on our last night. The muscles appetizer and the Chef's special, Caldeirada, were amazing. The service was the friendliest service that we experienced while on holiday. The chef really aims to please the customers. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the port and has a very nice feel to it. Thank you!

Já frequento este restaurante à quatro anos, mas mudou de gerência... E infelizmente a qualidade do serviço deixa bastante a desejar... A comida continua com bastante qualidade, os 90% dos que empregados continuam a falar somente em inglês, e para mim o mais grave, não existe ementa em português. Acredito que seja um restaurante frequentando na sua maioria por estrangeiros, mas ainda estamos em Portugal.

Broccoli soup was so tasty and so was the prawns for the starters. I would recommend halfing the prawn portion myself and take of the head and leave the bits you can eat. My fries with the skin on were delicious, even better when dipped in the peppercorn sauce that accompanied my steak; which was served slightly warm but the very hot sauce helped forget this issue. All together great experience of food and lovely views.

We got married outside Albufeira in June and chose Castelo do Mar as the venue for a BBQ the day after our wedding (with 70 guests). It was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were made feel very special. Our guests were accommodated well in any requests. Johann and Paul put a lot of consideration into the the little details for our evening. They even provided blankets for guests that were a little chilly on the rooftop when the sun went down. I'm so happy that we booked the rooftop at Castelo do Mar. You will not regret it if you do the same!

Situated in the peaceful and picturesque marina. Enjoyed the vegetable fajita and green wine and the desert was great too. A little pricey compared to the average restaurant but the service and view is great!

J'ai voulu prendre une table mais elle nous a été refusé parce que nous parlions Portugais. Lorsque j'ai ensuite réservé au téléphone en anglais ils avaient de la place immédiatement.

Très bien accueil sympa,cuisine goûteuse. Mon mari et mon fils ont pris du poulet pimenté, cuisson parfaite et j'ai pris le poisson du jour, très fin aussi, pas de petites arrêtes. Cheese cake en dessert, très bons. Manque un peu d'éclairage le soir, pour manger dehors.

I bring the family here every time I visit the area. It didn't feel quite as special on this occasion but I'm going to assume that was a blip. The service was still swift and the food was still good. The view still great and I still love that you can park on the drive at the side of the restaurant. I had food envy at my wife's salt and chili calamari starter and her beer battered fish and chips. My chicken liver pate was strong and flavorful but ribs weren't as tender as I'd hoped. That's the first time my food's not been outstanding here, so again, a blip. I wasn't greatly impressed with our waiter this time. When my wife asked whether she could have a side of vegetables with the boys' lasagne, he seemed unsure, turned as if to go and ask, then just turned back and said "no". We are the only people there bar another family of 4 (we came early on purpose) so it wouldn't have taken more than a free second to check. Eventually, we managed to get them some peas. It may just be that our waiter didn't understand us. I'm not judging...it's not like I speak Portuguese. It just didn't feel as attentive as our usual experience. The manager instantly recognised us so that was nice though. All in all, I'd still recommend it. One so-so experience doesn't cancel out the previous great ones. I'm actually thinking of going back tonight for the fish and chips. I just have one request. Please add chocaholic's dessert option. Chocolate fudge or chocolate brownie (without nuts) for those of us who only seem to get on with unadulterated chocolate. They almost got me with the Mississippi mud cake but I was put off by all that cream and other stuff.

Well what can I say food took a long time to come but WOW it was worth the wait the food was excellent ( one of the best meals I've had this year ) the view is the most amazing restaurant view in albufeira in my opinion the waiters were very nice and the scenery was beautiful overall 10/10

July 2015 - Top notch dining. Excellent service. The chef here is first class. Every course was delicious , presented perfectly and in good time. The restaurant itself is delightful. Not to be missed if you're on holiday here. Very highly recommended. July 2016 - From 5 star last year to 3 star this year. We were looking forward to dining here as last year it was exceptional. The Basil Faulty waiter and the drop in food quality weren't expected. New chef maybe? Such a shame as the location is fantastic.

Very welcoming and pleasant. Waiter and waitress where lovely. Now to Prawn/Garlic dish was so fresh and tasty. T-Bone steak awesome. Our anniversary dinner was well worth coming here excellent choice, and the ladies say men have bad choices..
