Precioso lugar para celebrar una boda, bautizo.... También se hacen catas de vino, y puedes alojarte, tiene unas vistas privilegiadas así como unas praderas verdes que te envuelven en el maravilloso paraje de Portugal.

Pasamos unos días estupendos en Cháves y nos encantó el hotel rural Quinta de la mata que estaba muy cerca del centro de Cháves

My friend and I stayed in this hotel (Quinta da Mata), Chaves, Portugal in March 10 and 11. If someone wants to have an authentic experience of staying in a renovated old mansion nested in a peaceful and beautiful village, this hotel is the best choice. Its beds, walls, dishes, smell of fire woods, its hygiene and more importantly the way the family who mange this hotel communicate with us were most rewording. I do believe that this hotel has a special character and worth my repeat visit in the future.

What a lovely, warm welcome we had from Luis in this impressive and cosy Manor House.
Not only is the house beautifully kept and really warm in the winter months, the host Luis is very generous!
The beds were comfortable, the breakfast had local bakes and offered a variety of food options, and on our last day Luis took us around the property sharing his love for nature and the surrounding area.
We loved meeting the dogs, horses and newborn lambs, whilst tasting homegrown peppers and winter fruit.
Not forgetting the complementary glass of port by the fire in the evening...
A hidden gem, just as we love them!

Un sitio diferente, muy muy bonito, habitaciones con decoración Antigua pero cuidada. Nos ha encantado, en plena naturaleza, rodeado de animales y con una atención exquisita, tiene piscina. El desayuno incluido en el precio especial y buenísimo

Magnifico alojamiento, una casa antigua y preciosa, la finca es enorme, en plena naturaleza tienen zona para celebrar eventos, piscina, pistas de tenis, granja con animales y huerto propio, una gran experiencia, altamente recomendable.

Estive em várias festas como casamentos, batizados etc, e o local é lindo e está no meio da natureza. O único senão é a tenda que montam em alturas de muito calor fica desconfortável. Em relação à comida: são bastante competentes, tal como funcionários amigos e prestáveis. Excelente para dar uns passeios pelas redondezas pela natureza que nos rodeia.

Una casa antigua muy bonita, con grandes espacios ,magníficas vistas,piscina,zona ajardinada.....El personal atento y amable, la pena es que también celebran eventos como bautizos,comuniones....y se rompe esa tranquilidad y sosiego que uno busca en un lugar como ese.

Attended a wedding ceremony/reception here and the service was excellent, the guesthouse has a modern exterior while the inside has been decorated to keep most of it's history which include visits from several Portuguese Presidents, the food was tasty and plentiful. Some nice views of the surrounding hills.

Somos un matrimonio de La Rioja, Julio y Susana y venir a casa de Luis es como ir a casa de un buen amigo. Amable, servicial, da buenisimas recomendaciones y regenta una quinta maravillosa. Emana tranquilidad, sosiego, no hay prisas. Si lo combinas con un masaje en las termas es lo más parecido a estar en el cielo. Un autentico regalo para el cuerpo y el alma

When I arrived, the manager, Luis was very engaged with the young people in two Mercedes cars in front of the Quinta. When he finally acknowledged me, it was to tell me that, despite my having reserved over a month before and having received several confirmations from you, he DID NOT HAVE A ROOM FOR ME!!

we absolutely loved this Quinta. Run by Luis Barosso, whose family bought it thirty years ago. The setting is awesome and the hotel has great charm. It is substantially built but has not been over renovated. Unfortunately the cooked food falls well short of acceptable. The ingredients are from the estate but the belief that vegetables should be boiled for an hour or more is a mistake. The quality of the raw product is good. After all it is a perma-organic farm. The swimming pool is fabulous.We would definitely stay again.

Quinta da Mata is a quaint farm near Chaves. Beautiful views of the valley. Seemingly close to Chaves, but peaceful and a world apart. The owners are kind, welcoming and generous. The rooms feel historic and luxurious - in a manor home kind of way. Food is absolutely indulgent and abundant.
