What an excellent place - the people in charge have slowly bought the majority of the buildings that sit just under the castle on the hill at the top of Marialva and turned it into a very well run luxury hotel. The rooms, although a bit dark in places, are very well appointed with excellent bathrooms and huge beds. The restaurant is lovely, with well prepared food and very attentive staff. The level of English spoken is good. The wines available are quite expensive, but there is a good variety. We did not have the chance to experience the spa. The grounds are impeccably kept, and the views are great.
We had the opportunity to experience Easter Sunday in the nearby chapel, which was a breath of authenticity in what is a very manufactured atmosphere targeted at city-slickers from Lisbon and Porto. Casas do Coro is not necessarily authentic, but at those prices you would not expect it to be - prepare to pay well, and get all the creature comforts that you would expect.

Simpaticos e atenciosos, as casas e suites são maravilhosas e bem decoradas, o jantar degustação é muito bom, fiquei dececionado com os vinhos servidos, pela falta de escolha...local muito tranquilo e de uma beleza inquestionavel.

Estadia muito agradavel, confortável, bonita decoração boa mistura do antigo c moderno, óptimo pequeno almoço, empregados e donos muito simpáticos
Local histórico, com trilhos c ligação a outros locais q poderá explorar tanto a pé como de bicicleta

This is an interesting place. Its built into a lot of stone buildings that date back a good way. But the interiors are what youd expect from a modern hotel or inn. We arrived late because the hotel room wed booked got flooded. The staff was very accommodating - even though we arrived late, they fed us roast beef sandwiches. The area was a really nice place to walk around and explore, though easy to get lost because youre wandering through old stone buildings. Breakfast was good, but it seemed to always be good in Portugal.

L'hôtel est magnifique, perdu au bout de nul part. Calme et tranquillité, tout est fait pour se reposer. Une étoile en moins pour un service qui n'est pas a la hauteur du standing du lieu et pour un repas du soir très cher, très long et décevant. Nous avons largement préféré aller au snack de la piscine. Le petit déjeuné est par contre exceptionnel.

This is a very lovely property overlooking vineyards and the countryside. There is not much in the area, but it is a wonderful place for a quite getaway. The staff is very nice and the facilities are beautiful-large swimming pool, lovely lounge areas, spacious rooms and baths, and a lovely restaurant with outdoor patio seating. Other than biking and hiking there is not much to do, but for a relaxing elegant getaway this is the place

This was a lovely hotel, very happy with the service. Unfortunately the WiFi did not work in the room we stayed in and the outdoor furniture needed some attention but overall we were happy with accommodation.

Lugar tranquilo, muy bonito, todo especialmente cuidado desde las terrazas a las habitaciones. Cantidad de rincones con tumbonas o mesa con sillas donde pasar la tarde a la sombra tomando algo con amigos y familia.
Buen vino de la casa, una cocina adecuada.
El entorno es estupendo, con un pueblo muy bonito y un castillo bastante bien cuidado.

We stayed here with our daughter for 3 days during a graduation trip to Portugal. The property is stunning and the staff is excellent. My daughter and I also had a massage in the spa, which was great. Its a bit far removed, but we still used the location to tour the Douro Valley. The views and drives were spectacular. We had to leave early our final morning and the staff packed us a lovely breakfast to take with us. Dont miss this place, it is a gem.

Não gostei pois o preço foi bastante elevado para um quarto pequenino e sem ar condicionado, o que em época de verão é muito mau. Tive de dormir com janela toda aberta para minimizar o calor que se fazia sentir.

Rustic accommodation in secluded rural Portugal. This is not a hotel but a number of small villas rented by the room (each with its own bathroom). Feels like staying in a private village. Lovely grounds, breakfast and dinner both excellent (only breakfast is included). Service from staff is excellent. Resort amenities very good. Extras are quite expensive for Portugal (dinner is ~€60pp for four courses plus matched wine). Room air conditioning is central and shared with rest of building (not individual for room). Building power failed twice during three night stay leaving air conditioning and lights non-working. Fixed fairly quickly both times but got the impression this was a regular occurrence. Rooms are very basic but this felt in keeping with the rural setting! Selection of activities that staff can arrange for you such as bike ride and picnic at sunset (prices but felt very romantic). Overall, if looking for a quiet getaway would stay again.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rusticae Hotel Casas do Coro. The room was very comfortable and allowed us to recover from jetlag. We enjoyed exploring the castle ruins and the traditional Portuguese neighborhood. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the service was excellent.

Numa das aldeias histórias de Portugal (Marialva) fica um dos melhores segredos em termos de hotelaria rural que há no país. Um turismo de aldeia composto de excelentes casas e quartos, numa paisagem incrível e muito perto do rio Douro.

The property is in a unique location by the Marialva Castle, built into the old stone structures nearby. Comfortable rooms and areas by the fireplace. Well renovated about 10- 15 years ago and allowed to run down - carpets etc. If we had realized the condition etc. we would have stayed in another hotel in the Meda area with more choice of restaurants.

Thoroughly enjoyed this magical and very peaceful location. Top of Marialva village, a mix of individual old renovated and new buildings. Atmospheric, high quality furniture, very clean. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I was by myself and never felt awkward, unlike in other places. Food was amazing, candlelit dinner, breakfast incredible choice. They catered to my food intolerance. Perfectly reasonably priced for dinner and for room.

Wow! This place is amazing!!! The setting is unreal - a great place to go if you want to get away from it all. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are huge. We had a huge living room, kitchen and giant bedroom. The staff is amazing and made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed their wonderful dinner which was worth every cent. We went at the end of the season so there were hardly any others there but it was a wonderful experience. The staff even made great suggestions of day trips for us. I would highly recommend.

Estupendo, recomiendo sinceramente una escapada de mínimo 3 días a este lugar tan tranquilo como acogedor. Imprescindibles: excursión en barco por el Duero, visita a las bodegas Ervamoira y picnic entre vides.
