Ciao amici viaggiatori, nel nostro tour in Portogallo abbiamo scelto questo B&B a Porto e.... non avremmo potuto compiere scelta migliore! Sin dai primi scambi di e-mail Carmen mi è sembrata precisa e pronta nel rispondere, così abbiamo prenotato due camere per tre persone, vista fiume; due perchè le camere, come scritto nel loro sito, sono piccole ma....non mancano di nulla. Al nostro arrivo eravamo un pò scossi perchè abbiamo fatto 40' di coda per entrare a Porto, che era letteralmente presa d'assalto con la maggior parte dei parcheggi pubblici pieni e così abbiamo dovuto lasciare distante la macchina... Ecco, consiglierei solamente la convenzione con il parcheggio di fronte nei periodi di maggiore affluenza, con questo tutto sarebbe ancora più perfetto! Quando però ci hanno aperto la porta del B&B è stato amore a prima vista, sia per la posizione proprio nel cuore della vita di Porto e con una splendida vista, che per la cortesia di Carmen e Joao: ci hanno accompagnato alle camere e offerto tre bicchieri di ottimo Porto. Ci tengo a far presente che la cosa che più ci ha stupito è l'amore che mettono i gestori nel loro lavoro, è vero che dovrete rientrare entro l'1 di notte ma è altrettanto vero che non appena rientrate vi sembrerà di essere a casa di amici, con loro a chiedervi della giornata, a darvi consigli utili per la visita della città e a offrirvi nuovamente del Porto. Stupenda la colazione che Joao preparava ogni mattina, va prenotato l'orario e quando scendete: be troverete di tutto e di più, a partire dalla frutta tagliata fresca e a fare delle vere opere d'arte, gli splendidi cappuccini (buoni come i nostri italiani), la spremuta e i dolcini... Il giorno della nostra partenza ci hanno anche lasciato un pensierino in camera per salutarci.. Davvero siamo rimasti senza parole... E' stata l'esperienza migliore in un B&B... Non avremmo potuto trovare un posto migliore ma, soprattutto, delle persone migliori. Sarà la nostra tappa fissa nei prossimi viaggi a Porto. Un caro saluto, Matteo, Giuseppe e Giuseppina

What a wonderful experience! A visit to Porto is such a delight, and staying at Douro Guest House is the icing on the cake. Beautiful, immaculately clean, and beyond welcoming.

This is the best place I've ever stayed. The place was meticulously clean. The bed was soft. The room spacious and view of the river epic. The location was absolutely prefect. The best thing though was Carmen and João. They are the wonderful owners who every day went out of their way to make our visit splendid. We were treated every morning to fresh fruit, bread, pastries and João's mother's delicious home made jam. Every evening we drank port and talked and shared stories with these wonderful people. I hope to return soon!

Best place to stay in Porto, maybe even in Portugal. Great riverside rooms, no outside noise if you close the windows. AMAZING hospitality from the staff! If they have vacancies don't think twice and book it, you won't regret it. No online reservation so just email them, they reply very quickly

Great location for the river view and restaurants. Our hosts had great restaurant recommendations and also assisted with scheduling the reservations. They also had wonderful recommendations on "must see" sights in 2 days.

The property is successfully managed by a couple which has great knowledge of the UNESCO area as well as the heritage of Portugal,, and Porto in particular.. It will be hard to find an establishment which can provide as much information,, practical and specific.. Ask questions and they will be intelligently answered..

Guest House Douro is in a great location in the old centre of beautiful Porto. Our bedroom had glorious views of the River Douro and onto the quay below. Our hosts, Hugo and Luiza, couldnt have been more helpful suggesting places to visit and recommending good places to eat. Breakfasts were delicious and the coffee was great. The cups of tea on our return to the hotel in the evenings were also a lovely touch. Thank you to the other Luiza. We loved Guesthouse Douro and hope we can visit again.

Excellent hôtel de part sa situation et son accueil, rien à dire sur la gentillesse et le professionnalisme du propriétaire.

Our room overlooking the Duoro was lovely. We enjoyed the view even more than expected. The super friendly staff helped us with a map and important areas to see, booked dinner reservations and a port wine tasting. We could not have been happier.

What a great place to end our two wonderful weeks in Portugal. Loved Porto, and this small hotel. Great location, cool rooms and colorful/tasty breakfast. Plus sweet owners. Encore!

Hotel localizado fora de Setúbal, mas estrategicamente situado. A 7 kms do centro de Setúbal e com saída para as praias do Sul com Tróia, Comporta e Carvalhal. Resort para jogar golfe numa zona de montado mas com áreas frescas. Boa relação preço qualidade mesmo no mês de Agosto. A piscina é pequena e com água turva. Bom serviço de pequeno almoço e bar.

One of the most enjoyable places I have ever stayed in over 60 years of traveling for business or pleasure. Carmen and Joao make you feel special at their guest house. Joao prepares a fantastic breakfast that is very special. The guest house is next to the river with great views. Joao also made reservations for us to excellent restaurants in the area.

Du beau, du bon sur tous les plans. Mais le meilleur reste "Carmen et Joao". Les propriétaires ? Un savant mélange d'humanité , de joie et d'humour. Incontournable

Amazing accommodation, warm wonderful hosts in an incredible location. I would go back tomorrow of I could.
