버스투어 했는데 오픈 파노라마 미니버스에 약 20명정도. 12.5유로에 2잔의 시음포함. 버스기사님의 설명과 여유있는 진행이 좋았음. 포르투갈어와 영어 번갈아가며 진행했음. 와이너리 산꼭대기까지 올라갔다가 내려옴. 렌트해서 다녀왔는데 일정여유있음 다녀오세요~ 너무 더운시간엔 해가 뜨거워서 힘들것 같아요. 날씨에따라 시간 조정하시길...

차 타고 세번정도 정차하면서 쭉 도우루밸리의 풍경을 구경합니다. 경치가 굉장히 훌륭하며 설명 역시 고퀄리티에요. 허브향과 포도밭이 적절히 어우러진 도우루 밸리의 광경이 멋집니다.

A very nice small town. I strong recommend the boat trip. You can enjoy great views and wine on the boat - very relaxing and pleasing.

Sem dúvida uma das melhores quintas a serem visitadas no vale do Douro. A visita às Vinhas vale o que se paga. Não perca a oportunidade.

I have mixed feelings about this visit. On one side the visit of the domain and the wineyards was amazing. The two guides were very sympathic and tought us a lot about the vines tree, the soil, the valley. The views were really beautifull. We got to taste the grape just picked up from the trees. This part was perfect. On the other side, we got very little to no explanations about how the port is produced and aged. Surprisingly for such a house porto wine, the degustation was quite poor. We just tried two wines, one tawny and one ruby, of the lowest quality available. At 12,5€ per person, it's very disappointing. To conclude, go for the visit of the domain, but not for the degustation or explanations on how the port wine is produced and aged.

Uma das melhores visitas a quintas da região do douro. O passeio pelas vinhas é extraordinário, assim como as paisagens. O guia nos leva de carro pela propriedade, explicando tudo de modo muito detalhado, até o ponto mais alto dos vinhedos. Ao final, temos uma prova de um branco, um tinto e um porto tawny 20 anos. O tinto foi um maravilhoso Carvalhas Vinhas Velhas, um dos melhores portugueses que já provei. Na loja há ainda outras opções de prova e garrafas vendidas a bons preços.

A perfect opportunity for a vineyard visit. Really close to Pinhao train station - a few minutes' walk - and they accept walk-ins, at least when not fully booked. A tour of around an hour with two tastings and you'll have a glimpse of what portwine making is all about (provided you also visit some cellar in Gaia). Really glad I took this trip on my own for 32.50 (train 20 and entrance 12.50) instead of paying 90-120 euro for a guided tour. And I was back in Porto at 5 PM.

Wauw, wat hebben we genoten van de tour. De service was ook super. In een busje door de gaardes heen, met 3 stops. De laatste stop was boven op de berg waar je kan genieten van een fenomenaal uitzicht. Na de tour mochten we 2 portjes proeven. Zeker een aanrader (en op loopafstand van het station!)

Bon accueil très sympathique en Français et en Anglais. Départ immédiat dès notre arrivée à la Quinta avec juste nous deux et nos enfants dans le minibus. Un chauffeur et une guide rien que pour nous. Magnifiques paysage pendant l'excursion et au sommet de la colline.

Une quinta incontournable, la visite en train se fait en très petits groupes, le conducteur parlait français et nous a régalés de petites anecdotes. Les porto a la dégustation ne sont pas les meilleurs mais pour le prix c'est normal.

We had a nice, low-key wine tasting here. Be warned, the tasting glasses were pretty much full pours, so we had to take it a bit slow :)

Very nice wine tasting! Informative and friendly staff. We came around 2, which is prime time lunch time. However, we were able to get a tasting of their red and white wine and one tawny port for 19 euros. The lounge seating is very comfy so it’s worth a visit!

Situada en el municipio de São joão da Pesqueira, en la cuesta del margen izquierdo del río Douro, frente a Pinhão. Es una de las haciendas más grandes y más espectaculares de la región del Duero y que se remonta a 1759, habiendo sido adquirida en 1975 por Real Companhia Velha. Visitable a través de un circuito turístico que atraviesa la propiedad.

Can not buy a bottle of port here to drink in the garden of the quinta. No no no she said. Very unfriendly.

Great tasting experience. The staff member was able to answer all of my crazy questions about wine, Douro Valley, Port and the House Carvalhas and its history. Overall, very nice experience!

We booked the vineyard jeep tour and lovely Catarina explained to us about the vines and encouraged our questions about the vineyard. She was also willing to stop anywhere for us to take pics of the vineyard. The tasting included white,red and port and honestly all of them were great. The only reason for 4 stars is disappointment in their shipping prices - we shipped wine to Spain before for way less, they are also unwilling to take any part of the postage to themselves- which means the more bottles you ship the more expensive it is - a very rare practice.

A truly fantastic experience. We were welcomed by Mr. Álvaro, who gave us a very very enthusiastic and interesting 2h tour over the vineyard. The scenary was breathtaking, with a view over Kms of vineyardsy and the Douro river. At the end, we stoped at the bottom of the Quinta and had a wine tasting accompanied by some snacks and beautiful/delicious grapes from the area. So, overall, fantastic experience, friendly and enthusiasmatic staff, and a good tasting.

I asked if I could take some pictures from their vineyard and was answered in a very unpleasant way "no". Their friendliness is as bland and tasteless as their wines.

Amazing experience touring the entirety of the land, learning the passion and innovation of the team, a wonderful tasting, and a surprise of music!

This place has some nice scenic views and the staff were very nice and the amount of wine given for tasting was more than expected. The interior is very nicely decorated and it has clean bathrooms.

Would give 5 stars, dropping one due to a mutual confusion that was not cleared up by the admin staff with being upfront about tripling the pricing. We ended up having a private jeep tour with Marcio (Mr Rabbit), who was fantastic. He gave a good history of the vineyard, insights on living in the Douro valley, and with some good humour. He stopped at multiple viewpoints including the highest vineyards where you can walk over the peak of the hill to achieve a 360 view including the southern side (the roundhouse itself at the mountains peak is closed for renovation). He pointed out different vegetation, we had the opportunity to try the grapes and oranges, and he took photos at each stop. We went back and had a generous tasting of 3 wines (white, red, and a tawyny port) along with a charcuterie board to pair. Now, the confusion was that we had emailed to book a minibus tour and tasting on "Tuesday 30th August, next week" and got a reply that this was confirmed about would be €12.50 each. Of course, I meant July (!) given that I said both "next week" and Tuesday 30th which doesn't exist in August 2019. Anyway, the mistake was made and we were disappointed to realise they weren't expecting us when we turned up. I understood from the front desk lady that minibus tours don't happen on Tuesday either, but to avoid disappointment they said don't worry we will organise a tour for you. At this point I felt that they realised it was a mutual error (and a small one on my part) and that they would honour the price agreed... I only started doubting that when I saw the charcuterie board(!) but by that point it was time to pay and I only lightly contested when I was told it was €35 each but paid anyway as it was such a good experience, which I had now already had/eaten anyway. Overall, it was lovely and I do feel this company is worth supporting. It is a much more local experience and is one of the few wine companies in the Douro that remain in Portuguese hands. The pre-tour information is very lacking though. They were sneaky in tripling the price and changing both our tour type and tasting type without telling us (we could've paid something in between for a Jeep tour with a standard tasting), and there should be more information on the website, especially since so many people could come as a day trip from Porto but are probably put off by the lack of information online. Anyway, until their information is updated. I can tell you that a minibus tour is €12.50 and includes two wine tastings but doesn't happen everyday, and a private jeep tour is €35 and included three wine tastings with a charcuterie board and seems to be possible any time within opening hours.

They’ll serve you during their opening hours if it suits them. We got there 40 mins from closing time and no tastings available. Other Quintas have much better service

Really nice tasting area but very expensive for tasting. There are cheaper and more authentic quintas around this area. This is one of the popular tour bus quintas.

The guide of the English tour didn't speak english. The tour itself was quite short. The view from the top is nice, but not better than in Galafura

This place offers good Porto wines but the white wine was vinegary and bad. The staff is nice but you don't have a good view of the magnificent Douro Valley which is too bad.

wonderful journey in Quinta das Carvalhas, from the bottom at the wine shop, tasting a delicious Port Wine, to the spotless round house on top. Magnifical place full of history and flavours. I will certantly come back!

The views on the tour are absolutely amazing. The open air bus takes you to the top of one of the tallest points around Pinhao with 360 degree views. The guide was very knowledgeable. The two port wine tasting was almost a side note after the beautiful bus drive.

Guides passionnés et pas avares en explications. nombreux arrêts du minibus pendant l'ascension pour prendre des photos et profiter du paysage. À la fin dégustation de 2 Porto différents. Superbe :)

At the store you can only do tastings or by the glass, you can't share a bottle in their gorgeous premises.

Wonderful vineyard tour with wine tasting for €35. Beautiful surroundings and a great, enthusiast guide. Definitely one of our best experiences in Portugal.

Lovely location but the staff member was completely disengaged after pouring our first taster (white wine). After wandering around for a further 20 mins or so (the wine seemed relatively expensively priced) with left 2 Euro's on the table and departed. Won't be returning.
