We recently purchased a house from Chavetejo in Tomar. The whole experience was trouble-free from beginning to end and we would not hesitate to recommend the agency.

My journey towards being a home owner in Portugal started off a year ago with a tentative enquiry to Emily. The house I finally bought was one of the first that Emily suggested to me. Professional at all times, she would not let me look at things which were too isolated, needing excessive amounts of work doing or inappropriate to my circumstances...which she realised very quickly, and tailored the search. Emily is ever patient, very knowledgeable and always ready to go the extra mile...even checking on deeds details on her day off!. Chavetejo have a huge number of properties available, but the staff are experienced enough to be able to quickly find appropriate properties. This sale is now completed, but it was complicated because of the location of both vendor and purchaser... that was no problem! The house I bought was in fact the first one Emily set up a viewing for... I think that says it all. I would highly recommend this company, and especially Emily who was personally so helpful to me.

These people tried hard unfortunately we were not able to find what we wanted. Will use again. Further report - Well two years on, they finally got us a house that suits us, helped with all enquiries during the purchase, and contractors recommended thereafter. Visited Chavetejo on 1st July with our brief that we wanted to buy land or ruins up to a value of around €60k and we’re in the area for roughly two weeks and all ready to proceed with purchasing. We Identified roughly ten properties with Chavatejo and Emily suggested there was no problem in providing the further details we required to assess those plots to narrow down our intended purchase. Despite confirmation via email and reminders it appears that Chavatejo can’t be bothered to provide further details and thus property sellers are missing out on credible buyers such as ourselves because Chavatejo can’t be bothered to market properties to an extent that it’s like being offered a car for sale yet the agent won’t reveal the make and model prior to a physical viewing. In our experience the result is that sellers properties with Chavatejo remain unsold due to Chavatejo not being bothered and having a reluctance to embrace innovative methods of viewing properties such as topography which is all the more important when it comes to selling land. Fortunately Sophia in Remax almost next door to Chavatejo (as were several other agents) was far more efficient and were willing to market their properties far better than Chavatejo.
