Our family of four stayed in a lovely villa with a small pool -- and had a great time. The bus service around the community is useful and the beaches are just beautiful. Our only complaint was around customer service with the staff - they promised to help us with a sea cruise and dropped the ball, and gave us some incorrect information about beach towels. Nothing insurmountable, but a little disappointing. All in all though, we highly recommend this as a place to unwind and enjoy the Algarve.

Really enjoyed our stay! As it was a short break to see family, we didn’t bother hiring a car. That worked fine as the hotel mini bus service worked just fine for us moving around the site and using the local taxis for when we went out.

Beautiful European resort with many amenities Americans will enjoy. Golf is spectacular, a variety of good restaurants, the apartments are lovely and the spa is great. Even though it was too cold to enjoy the beach during our stay, we had a wonderful vacation here!

One of the most disappointing trips ever. Unfortunately that resort can't keep what it promises. Tourist trap overpriced & not authentic. No value for it's customer. If you want to spent your days with over 100 kids from tennis schools in England - happy days. We travelled in April to play tennis in the sun in Portugal and enjoy some relaxing days but we had not expected there were over 100 kids to do this too on exactly 18 courts even though the resort said to us " there are enough courts available ". We found out that the resort completely overbooked itself and lied to us. These kids travel there since years and have the status to own everything - we were not even allowed to go inside the ONLY tennis cafe which was available even though it was raining and windy. It was reserved for the kids who had lunch over there....and dinner. The courts were taken for their kids tournament and practice. This is not a 5 star resort. That's a better version of a centre park including a kids club. Moreover you have to pay for everything extra. If you want to use the spa - 20 Euro. If you have a bit bread at dinner - 6 Euro. If you call the reception and ask for the bus resort they send you the taxi by mistake and you have to pay. Moreover the bus resort is not allowed to go on all the streets so you have to walk miles sometimes as it is a huge resort. Absolutely no recommendations. Rip off. Very sad.

Um local calmo, tranquilo, perto do mar, zona verde onde predomina o pinheiro. Com campos de golf em redor. Vale a pena visitar a noite a Praça. Zona de Bares restaurantes, junto a praia.

Schöne gepflegte Anlage in nächster Nähe zum Atlantik, stabiles Hochdruckwetter auch im Winter mit angenehmen Temperaturen. Gute Infrastruktur mit Restaurants und Shopping, gute Sicherheit und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter - alles in allem gute Voraussetzungen für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt, für Eigentümer, Golfspieler und (betuchte) Touristen.

The service at VDL Golf is losing it's way. They don't offer electric trolleys, and when asked where we could get one, they said there are companies available but they couldn't /wouldn't refer any to us. Not very helpful at all.

Lovely apartment, had everything we needed and more. Fabulous staff. Lots of things to do. Defiantly recommend the buy one get one cocktails at the lounge bar. Julia’s had a lovely view and great food to. We loved it so much we've booked to go again next year.

Had a great time at VDL resort. Spacious quiet apartment. Lovely walks along superb beaches. My wife is celiac so we ate in and cooking facilities were excellent. Hot tub was very relaxing. A great place to chill out. Best bar was Maria’s in Dunas Dorado - very comfortable looking over the beach and sea. Had a good round of golf on Ocean Course - it was very hot so played early and it took less time to play.

Great resort with endless beaches and a lot a golf courses to play. The resort it’s pretty close to the airport (around 20-30 minutes). You have a lots of restaurants close on the beach where you can find great seafood and some nice bottles of wine. You also have a lot of villas in this area mostly owned by English people. A lot of them are willing to rent out their villas during the time they are not there.
All in all vale do lobo resort is a perfekt place you can relax with the family and also experience nice food. On the beach you have to possibility to try jetskis or other water Sport activity. I always enjoy coming there.

Played on the 11th and 14th Sept 2018 on each of the courses as a group of 16 golfers and as usual both courses were excellent
Ive played both courses 3 times each and never had a complaint and still cant say either course is lesser than the other
As always the staff from arrival to departure were friendly helpful and throughly professional
Its not the cheapest but compared to the other couses it provides reasonable value for money if booked through one of the many tour companies

My partner and I had a fantastic time at this location. Our villa was spacious, well designed and comfortable. The private pool was excellent though at times we wished it was heated. The main bedroom was large with lots of facilities including large ensuite bathroom and safe. The resort itself is enormous with a resort bus available to get to the key places. Local facilities such as restaurants were high quality but very expensive. For a short relaxing stay we chose really well and it is hard to fault the place.

Absolutely loved it. On our booking it said basic apartment so we were a bit apprehensive. To open the door to a one bedroom house, two floors, garden, bbq and pool was an amazing surprise. Ill be back for sure.

The quality of the resort and the property itself was outstanding. Beautiful grounds, wonderful beach, excellent club house, good selection of restaurants.We would have liked another supermarket closer to the square and also a proper pub / bar.

Whether a golf lover or not, which I am not, Spikes on the 19th hole is a lovely laid back eaterie and bar to visit when in the Algarve. Very friendly efficient staff, comfy seating on the terrace in front of the practice putting green with views further afield. Reasonably priced too serving light bites, salads and burgers or a wider range in the smart main dining area and large bar inside.

I have lived here for the past ten years and the place has changed a lot, not for the better.
I'd you are looking for a quiet,peaceful holiday then look elsewhere.
Most of Vale do Lobo ( and Quinta do Lago) has been taken over by yobs ( the ones in Quinta do Lago are wealthier and have better tattoos)
It's a great shame, it was a wonderful area but everyone is moving out to better places.

Fabulous location and complex for golf and spa days. The restaurant and bar offers a good selection of food and drink, which you can enjoy inside or out on the terrace. Great place to relax.

Allocated an apartment on the edge of the development for our overnight stay. Adequate, but would not have been suitable for a holiday in that comfort seating in the lounge/diner comprised 2 bean bags. Neither was there any outdoor seating area or a pleasant view. While not sited against a main road, passing traffic could be clearly heard throughout the night - poor seals on windows and doors. Over bath shower - a bit dated and damaged flooring in the bathroom summed up the facility - adequate but in need of a make over. Despite these comments about the apartment VdL Resort overall is an excellent facility.

This property was lovely it did however feel slightly unfinished . As an example for a 2 bedroom villa it had a 2 seater sofa.. It got sun most of the day till about 4.00. Cleaners seemed to arrive every 2/3 days but the reception staff were really unhelpful . I asked on checkout to stay till 5 rather than 11 as the villa was not booked out the following day and they wanted to charge 680 euro’s for what is essentially an extra 5 hours . On our day of arrival we couldn’t check in till 5.30 and we’re offered no drinks or help with facilities so it totally wasted our day . Because of the resort staff I would not stay again .

Bellissimo resort e bella piscina per prendersi una pausa dal mare.
Non ci sono docce calde, ci sono solo le docce in piscina.
Ci sono gli spogliatoi ed i bagni per cibarsi e passare lì la serata in uno dei locali presenti.
Ingresso in piscina per tutto il giorno ad agosto 16 euro a testa, più asciugamano (per chi lo desidera) a 5 euro.
Ci sono 2 piscine, una per adulti ed una per bambini. La parte meno profonda della piscina per adulti è di 90 cm.
Consiglio vivamente di fare un giro nel resort a piedi, per gli appassionati di architettura ci sono delle case FAVOLOSE!!!

Vale do Lobo is a place one falls in love with at second sight. Very good infrastructure (golf, tennis, beach, little supermarket) and super nice rental houses, and the weather is perfect blue skies in summer. We had a house with a pool, which I recommend with kids. It's worth the extra pay! There is a cool water park and very good restaurants and fish/fruit market nearby. Most guest are English, some French and Portuguese. 5 stars from me!!

An excellent resort with two great golf courses. Vale Do Lobo was the first course i ever played in Portugal and it didn't disappoint. Both courses offer a mixture of wide open and tight fairways in a setting nestled amongst the villas its easy to see why golfers return here year after year. The tee boxes were flat and well maintained and the greens, these greens truly hold the line of the ball making putting a real part of the game. The courses offer a mixture of lengthy holes some par 5's that can be reached in two of you have the distance in your clubs to attack the course.

Mooi resort... voor mezelf te "sjiek". Heel zuiver, verzorgde omgeving, mooie kunstmatige tuinen, geen vuiltje op straat, ondergrondse sorteerbakken op de straathoek,... heeft ook wel nadelen... er wordt vaak gewerkt... je hoort altijd wel ergens een shtill toestel draaien... werken beginnen tussen 9u en 9u30. We waren dan ook tijdens een minder drukke periode hier want veel appartementen staan leeg... lijkt me druk tijdens hoogseizoen... Ik moet toegeven dat ik de algarve over het algemeen toch minder toeristisch had verwacht. Voor het autentieke moet men dan waarschijnlijk meer landinwaards trekken.

What an amazing stay, check in was a delight the guy reception was extremely knowledgeable the apartment was excellent with everything you could wish for especially the hot tub! One problem at 7.30 New Years Eve, the hot water didnt come on, phoned reception and the problem was resolved within 30 mins, terrific service great resort discounts, helpful staff made for an amazing stay, I would recommend this to everyone.

Nice resort, with good facilities in a good location on the Algarve. The resort is quite big, so if you dont have a car it can be a bit of a walk to get places (groceries, beach etc). The shuttle is pretty good though and usually no more than a 5 min wait.Golf courses are amazing as well.

Very rarely give 5 star reviews, Vale do lobo is exceptional, as soon as you arrive at the resort you know you are somewhere special, both courses are fantastic and it's our first port of call every year, food and drink price is reasonable for the experience you are getting, we play twilight golf as you get a great saving,the ocean and royal are just as good as each other, the staff are 1st class, looking forward to our next visit.

wir erhielten einenUpgrade in ein App mit Pool. Wohnung innen ist top. Pool war auch sehr schön. Leider ist man in dem neueren App Komplex immer komplett auf dem Präsentierteller. Sowohl zur Strasse wie den Nachbarwohnungen sowohl im wie in den Nachbarhäusernbist alles offen unds gibt eentlich keine ruhige Ecke. Verkehrslärm von der Strasse war morgens und abends etwas störend. Beschattungsmöglichkeiten fehlen.Strand sehr schön,Poolanlage na ja.Wenn man Golfer ist vermutlich paradiesisch,ausserhalb der Anlage springt einem die Realität von Almancil (herruntergekommen) insGesicht.Für mich das falscheUmfeld ,war aber mein Fehler bei der Auswahl.Snobby posch ist nicht meins

Waren in Val do Lobo zum zweiten Mal. Zimmer d.h. Studio (Küche, Wohnzimmer) sind sauber und sehr angenehm. Werden sicher wieder in dieses Hotel zurückkommen, das nächste Mal in Portugal.

Its not a hotel, they just rent you an apartment thats 15 blocks from the beach, the pool...They put just 1 mini shampoo for the 3 of us for the whole stay!!! (we stayed for 4 days) . The pool is shared with other hotels, always full of people, to find a sun chair its a mirracle. You hear EVERY noise SO LOUD from other apartments, we thought that people where inside our apt.! Terrible stay!!!!! Go to a real hotel, this is a scam!!!! Luckily its a 3 star apt!No es un hotel. Solamente apartamentos que te alquilan. Son de mala calidad se oyen Todos los ruidos (tan fuerte q creíamos que había gente adentro del departamento! ) Nos pusieron solo 1 mini frasco de shampoo para 3 personas x 4 dias, una vergüenza tener q salir a comprar tu shampoo en un supuesto hotel 5 estrellas. La pileta y playa estan a 15 cuadras y se comparte con otros hoteles además de que la gente puede pagar para entrar... es un milagro encontrar reposeras... y en la playa te las cobran 20 euros...NOS SENTIMOS ESTAFADOS, ESTO NO ES UN HOTEL, NO VAYAN!!!!! UN DEPARTAMENTO 3 ESTRELLAS MUY LEJOS DE TODO!!!!

Das Apartment war so weit vom Strand entfernt, dass man per Auto fahren und den Wagen auf dem kostenpflichtigen Parkplatz abstellen musste. Das Apartment selbst war bei Bezug voller Mücken, Mückennetze Fehlanzeige. Bei der Ankunft ging gleich die komplizierte, veraltete Alarmanlage los. Das Licht sich nicht anschalten, da der mit der Zimmerkarte zu bedienende Hauptschalter einen Wackelkontakt hatte. Nachts warfen betrunkene Jugendliche Steine an unser Fenster. An der Rezeption erhielten wir bei Anreise nur 3 Gästekarten, obwohl wir 5 Personen waren, da wir die Kinderpässe nicht dabei hatten. Bei der Reservierung war hiervon nichts erwähnt gewesen. So kam es, dass wir beim Pool eine Viertelstunde lang um zwei weitere Handtücher betteln mussten. Es gäbe Regularien, die schwere wögen als unser Wunsch nach einem Handtuch pro Person. Service mangelhaft. Restaurants und Minigolf auf dem Gelände des Vale do Lobo sind heftig überteuert. Wir werden das Resort in Zukunft auf jeden Fall meiden.

Il ne sagit pas dun hotel mais dun resort. Vous pouvez avoir de grandes distances entre les différentsvlieux. Il y a une navette qui fait le tour et vient sur demande mais il faut attendre 15 minutes.On en a vite assez et on prend sa voiture pour aller au golf, à la plage ou à la piscine. Attention le stationnement est payant partout et les amendes pleuvent, même le soir.Les chambres sont des appartements plus pratiques pour des longs séjours si vous faites vos courses et cuisinez. Dans le cas contraire, le service hotelier est très moyen pour un 5 etoiles.Le petit dejeuner est ultra simpliste, pas de buffet.Nombreux restaurants variés sur place à des prix corrects pour lendroit.Pas de wifi dans les appartements, il faut aller à la réception qui peut être tres loin en fonction de votre localisation.Golf magnifique et belle plage ( transats payants).
