Really loved this place! Right from the beginning, the super friendly and welcoming stuff, nice atmosphere in the place and awesome food! Just don't underestimate the size of the portions!!! Fish&chips alone is more than enough, any starter is overkill!
I only (...!) had veggie chili fries (huge load of fries with veggie chili din carne on top) and the legendary onion ring tower (side dish, but rather for two, or even three people). Such a massive portion, I couldn't finish it even though I was starving before...
Fish and chips of my girlfriend was also delicious and impressive in size.

We had 8 people from Canada looking for fish and chips with local fish. Food was awesome and my wife said best fish Tacos ever. She compared it to some amazing ones we had in Hawaii. Good beer, great food and the service was really good. If you're looking for something like this in Lagos, we recommend it!

Nice lounge/pub atmosphere and vibe. Very good service and generous portions. We shared the fish and chips with the chicken mozzarella stick starter. The fish was fresh, light and tender, it was the best fish and chips I had. The chips were good too, we had the American style, with cajun seasoning, it was lightly seasoned and well balanced. The sticks were ok, not our kind, they are not like mozzarella sticks, they were more liquid and not very cheesy. They have local beers and a wide variety of cocktails from 7-9€, main dishes 5-13.5€, starters 5-7.5€. It's the kind of restaurant I wish I have in my own city.

Really great service despite the restaurant being packed. The fish and chips were fresh and flavourful and the fish tacos were unreal and came in three flavours. Highly recommend this spot!

Amazing!! Best fish and chips I’ve had since leaving Australia to live in the UK- the chips with chicken salt were the stuff of my dreams. We had the Australian style fish and chips, which comes with a beetroot salad, and the trio of fish tacos which were also delicious. The beer was also great.

Very cool and friendly place, nice atmosphere. Food is outstanding, huge plates and super delicious!!! Go for the American fish&chips, very light and crunchy batter and fries cooked and seasoned to perfection!!!

We actually didn't eat any of the food, though it smelled delicious. We had scoped the place out on Untappd ahead of time so we were there specifically for some local brews. Both beers on tap were great. The bartender and waiter were fun and friendly. The ambiance just exudes cool. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to rest your legs and cool down with a cold beer.
Their separate cocktail location is really cool for a nightcap. The cocktails were creative and there were even more beers to choose from.

Tried to come in for a drink before we decided where to eat. Three empty tables and they said we could only sit down if we ordered food, tried to explain we might order food but we just wanted a drink first. We were turned away so they did themselves out of four drinks at the very least.

Very good fish n'chips. I had a stout too, it was creamy and light, really excellent! Big portions, on the more expensive side for fish n'chips but I would go back again. The service was on point, and they get five stars for their service!

Pessoal super simpático, conceito que fazia mesmo falta na zona, temática do espaço muito bem conseguida, carta a combinar com o resto . Não costumo frequentar espaços mais orientados para o turismo mas o vosso fez-me mudar a ideia. Não me fez diferença o facto de ter falar inglês em Portugal. Continuação de bom trabalho!

Un fish and chips copieux et bien fait, bien présenté aussi dans des boîtes en bois. Service efficace et dynamique. Le vin est bon et on vous le sert à bonne température. Le décor est hipster mais compatible avec ceux qui n'aiment pas le genre. Beaucoup d'intelligence et d'originalité dans l'organisation de ce restaurant.
J'y retournerais avec plaisir de temps en temps pour un bon petit fish'n chips, c'est si rare de nos jours !

My girlfriend and I tried the fish taco trio here. The hake was amazing, and the taco with the pineapple salsa was by far the best. My girlfriend threw up a few hours after we ate here, but that doesn’t matter because she’s a vegan and deserves it.

It pains me to say this but this was the best meal I had in Lagos. High end British fish and chips with fresh Portuguese fish is a winning combination. Gluten free options too! Excellent service!
The only gripe is that they advertised Cajun spiced fries but they were really curry spiced and the coleslaw needed more vinegar and spice.

This place is amazing. Mika and Ali are the best hosts ever. Food is the best and the cocktails are to die for. If its busy you can wait in their bar just across the street, the decor is so cool. The staff are so friendly. You will definitely go back

Remember the worried face of the owner when it first opened and chatting to him about the perils of his new venture. Now a few years later it is, as it was then, a great place to eat. Cocktail bar across the road is worth a sniff too, probably the only milk stout on draught in the whole of Portugal and very nice too.

Neat concept that offers UK, Australian, and US-style fish and chips. We had the fish tacos which were amazing - fresh toppings and nice, lightly fried fish. Nice place, good service, and they even have a couple of Portuguese craft beers on tap.

I tacos più buoni che abbia mai mangiato con pesce in pastella fritto e vari condimenti. Peperoncino, peperone e ananas sono gli ingredineti che rendono unici i tacos. Inoltre, i gentilissimi membri dello staff offrono ai clienti una caramella particolare al gusto big-bubble. Provare per credere!

Muy buen ambiente y un trato excepcional, muy amable y atento (por encima de lo habitual). Probamos los fish and chips que son la especialidad y la verdad que estaban muy bien elaborados, las patatas con un aliño muy rico y las salsas muy ricas. Repetimos otro día más. Añadir que tienen una cervecería en frente donde esperamos por la mesa el primer día, con cervezas artesanas y una decoración muy original.

One of the best fish and chips I’ve had, anywhere in the world.
I love that different twists they add so you can choose different kinds of batter and flavors and sides.
The Fish tacos were amazing too. Come in 3 different flavors.
The Chilli with fries were great too. It is a huge portion so have a group there before you order it.
Everything has big portions actually so come hungry or split meals.
Servers were really friendly and professional, and from all over the world so nice to chat to.

Fish and chips were quite greasy and expensive.
The onion rings are awful, all batter made bitter by the amount being baking powder they contained to make them puff up.
Fish tacos much better and pick of the menu.
Drinks are expensive by Lagos standards.

Sehr rustikale Location. Im Grunde gibt es hier fish and chips in verschiedensten Variationen. Die Speisen sind optisch sehr ansprechend serviert und schmecken wirklich gut. Die männlichen und vor allem bärtigen Kellner sind sehr nett und aufmerksam. Lediglich die Preise fand ich etwas ambitioniert. Alles in allem jedoch eine klare Empfehlung von mir.

Essen wird außergewöhnlich in ausgekleideten Kisten serviert .Optisch sehr ansprechend ! Würde es hier Guinnes und Lagerbier vom Fass geben hätte ich 5 Sterne vergeben ! Top Qualität . Absolut empfehlenswert !!!

Der Laden liegt etwas ausserhalb der „Touristen Zone“ (in der man sich sowieso von den meisten Restaurants fern halten sollte)
Das Ladenlokal ist stilvoll eingerichtet und die Karte ist übersichtlich. Preislich zwar etwas höher, aber für das essen und die freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung völlig in Ordnung.
Fish and Chips sind sehr gut und auch die Tacos fand ich super lecker. Die Tacos gibts auch als vegane variante (Endlich mal... ist für mich als nicht-Fisch-und-Fleisch-Fan echt super, zumal fast alles was in dieser Region als Hauptgericht auf den Tisch kommt etwas davon beinhaltet.) Kann es wirklich empfehlen.

Tipp für alle die auf Restaurant Suche in Lagos sind:
Viele Restaurants (gerade in der Touristen Zone) sind entweder eine Abzocke oder qualitativ minderwertig und das Essen war nur Fertigware oder nicht lecker. Am besten sicht man zuerst online ein passendes aus. Meist sind kleinere Speisekarten besser, denn dann ist die chance grösser das es frisch und selbstgemacht ist. Ihr könnt euch auch meine anderen Bewertungen ansehen, wir haben einige gute Möglichkeiten zum essen in Lagos gefunden.

Some of the best fish and chips I've had. The batter is simply perfect. It's not as huge as some people imply, just a normal portion for one. Can also confirm that fish tacos are worth trying.
Their house Amber beer is also very good, though really expensive.

Fish and Chips is the serve of the day. Choose between British, Australian or American style. The fish tacos were Lovely, 3 varieties sweet, salty and spicy. The onion ring tower was huge!!!

Suuuuuper tasty food. I got the fish taco combo (three diff ways) and they were so delicious. The batter on the fish is so crispy and the fries are delicious too. Would highly recommend. It's Great for lunch, or an afternoon snack.

Rated this as excellent a few years ago but wasn't impressed this time. I have a milk and soya intolerance so asked if I could change one of the fish tacos toppings (yoghurt) for a non milk based one. The fish tacos are a three taco with three different toppings based dish. The waiter told me it wasn't possible... despite explaining I had a milk intolerance. He offered up the choice of having vegan toppings but I explained I also have a soya intolerance (which the vegan toppings choices were made from) so asked again if they could replace the yoghurt based topping for one of the other toppings (such as mango salsa) and again he refused and told me it wasn't possible. Just felt it was too much trouble for them and wasn't impressed by the attitude of the rather young staff.

The other three had different meals and all did not like their meals that much, because it was to oily.

Never did I ever think I'd find such tasty fish & chips in Lagos. The portion is larger than you could possibly eat, but you'll stuff yourself beyond your limits because it's just that good. Get a side of gravy with your fries, so worth it! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and made the experience more enjoyable.

Had the fish tacos and chili fries. Everything tasted great, the fish was fresh and fried perfectly. Each taco variant had unique flavors, from sweet to spicy to savory, with right amount of crunch from the cabbage and fish batter. Enthusiastic service as well, and a good set of craft beer and mixed drinks.

A repeat destination - our kids love the fish tacos and we are also working our way through the rest of the menu. Friendly relaxed service, great drinks selection. This place gets busy so book ahead or be prepared to leave your name for a later table.

Amazing place for fish and chips. The tacos with fish are fabulous too. The fish is fresh and succulent and the best we have tried. Only gripe is that only cash is accepted for payment and it's a little troublesome for a foreign card carrying me, when a lunch meal family of 5 can come to €80.

VEGANS/VEGETARIANS: the vegan tacos are more expensive than the fish tacos and are a little bit bland In comparison to what the fish options taste like. Would recommend going elsewhere if you look for a vegetarian meal. (I am pescatarian but wanted a veggie option this time, not too exciting)
HOWEVER - the fish was absolut delicious and smooth and buttery that my partner ordered. He got the Australian which was more than enough food and had a very fresh tasting coleslaw.
We also ordered the jalapeño poppers which we could have skipped considering how big the meal is. A bit pricey (12.50 for fish and chips? 13.50 for veggie tacos?)
All in all good but just want to let the veggies people know it’s not worth the 13 euros.

If you think you can get the best fish & chips in the UK this place will change your mind. A choice fish served with different types of batter & chips, I went for the spicy ones....delicious. It has a very friendly atmosphere you share tables as it is small & very popular. It has a bar opposite to wait in if there's a queue.

Kellner mit Leidenschaft und daher sehr guter Service. Die Einrichtung ist sehr durchdacht und passt perfekt. Es gibt nicht viel auf der Speisekarte, aber das was angeboten wird ist mega lecker. Auch der Fischstäbchen-Fischesser wird hier glücklich.

The sign makes this place look like a hip barber shop, but don't let that fool you. This place has some of the best fish and chips around and the portion sizes are massive. Inside you will find a simple but modern and unique establishment. Our host was polite and attentive making this an easy recommendation.

Wow!! Super cool spot with great food, friendly staff and amazingly good music. The waitresses are really welcoming and helpful. Great fish and chips, onion rings, and fish tacos. I would definitely recommend a visit here and will be back to enjoy a drink at the little bar.

Хоть заведение и не имеет Португальских корней атмосфера здесь безупречна. Прекрасный уровень обслуживания и солидные порции одобрят большинство посетителей заведения. В случае если прийдете без "брони" - скорее всего попадете за барную стойку или вообще не получится попасть, так как народу здесь всегда много. Кухня на твердую пятерку, но если вы желаете истории и локальной кухни вам определенно не сюда.

Great food and friendly staff. Simple food done to perfection! Had English fish and chips and trio of fish. Would definitely recommend it. Very tasty. Book in advance to have guaranteed table, as the place gets filled easily...

Da meine Begleitung so gern die Fish&Chips ausprobieren wollte, sind wir hier gelandet. Aber auch Menschen wie ich, also absolut keine Fischliebhaber, werden hier fündig. Die Portionen sind wirklich groß, die Preise fair und Essen und Getränke sehr lecker.

5 Stars are not enough for this restaurant, there are not enough stars in the celestial beauty of the night sky for that, there is not enough fish in the wide blue oceans or potatoes in God's green Earth to satisfy my need for these fish and chips. I would rank the need to visit 'Ol Bastards' alongside breathing itself, watching 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia' and 'Last Chance U', and waking up another day with breath in my lungs. Thank you, just thank you xx.

Ol Bastard's is a busy English tavern. They feature a variety of fish and chips. My favorite is "The American" because of its side dishes. The places is small, but busy. The wait staff is courteous and attentive. The food was well prepared and tasty. The price is a little on the expensive side but worth it...because their portions are HUGE.

- fish bones in coleslaw (not sure what that means, maybe hygiene and using same chopping boards)
- too much salt on the chips. And I like salt.
- I was pinned in painfully up against a wall (over crowded)
- no paying by card, obviously being sneaky with tax.
-€1 for a thimble of mayo!?!?
-boxes are a nice idea but make it difficult to eat food. What happened to go ol fashioned plates.
-food came out at different times.
Try out 'Lazyjacks' in the marina. Much better.

Oh so good!! Wow, the food is simply amazing!! Had the popcorn prawns (to die for) and the American fish and chips. Yum yum yum!!
Spoke to the lovely owners as well - as they put it, they chose a simpler menu and make sure they do everything well. And I wholeheartedly agree, best fish and chips I've had!! Can't wait to go back!!

Amazing experience with great food and best service!
Made reservations for two on a Thursday night and ordered the Popcorn Prawns for an appetizer, the Australian and American fish and chips for mains and a few beers.
The Popcorn Prawns came out beautiful and were delicious. Not extremely greasy and the prawns were huge! Would definitely order this again.
At this point, an unavoidable issue arose as the power was out and the fryers were out of commission. We literally had the entire restaurant staff come over to apologize to us and gave us constant updates on the situation. Because of the delay in food service, the owner came by and let us know that the drinks and appetizers were on the house! A class act from the staff! We decided to continue having drinks while waiting for the power to come back, which it did not too long after.
We enjoyed the rest of our meal and the fish and chips came out exactly as we expected. Not heavily battered and very light! I would definitely order this again and come back if I am in Lagos again.
By the end of the meal and on our way out of the door, the owner (Mika) came to us and was extremely friendly by thanking us for our business and still apologizing for the power outage. We didn't mind at all given the amazing experience already had with the food and service. To top this all off, Mika poured shots of rum for the three of us on the house and made us feel very welcome on our vacation.
LOVE THIS PLACE. WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE VISITING LAGOS!

Einfach wunderbar, super netter Chef mit Bart. Die Fish and Chips sind großartig vorallem mit Chili and Cheese eine wahre Pracht. Wenn ich nochmal in Lagos bin komme ich sicherlich wieder!

Great fish and chips with a twist. No booking possible so its just a case of walk in and hope for the best, if no table then book for another day, its well worth it. Or get a take away. Full of character cheap prices and you can even get a tatoo while you are there !!

War nicht so gut wie gedacht. Bei Tripadvisor wird der Laden sehr gut bewertet. Dies kann ich nicht bestätigen.
Ambiente war ganz schön die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Leider konnte das Essen da nicht mithalten. Diese Fish & Chips waren das Fettigste essen was ich jemals gegessen habe. Als wären die Fritten im Fett gekocht worden statt frittiert. Der Fisch war vom Geschmack recht sparsam Gewürzt. Und das Wasser was man vorher Gratis bekommen hat. Wurde von keinen von uns getrunken da es stärker nach Chlor schmeckte als unser Pool am Ferienhaus.

Nothing special. You will be hard pressed to get a tables without a reservation. The fish and chips are about average. The spices they add to the fries are tasty but all of the three styles of fish are exactly the same. I did not like the tartar sauce provided with the fish, it was too strong and took away all the flavour from the fish and breading. The side of coleslaw was good. They gave us free water, which was nice considering that's a novelty in Europe. Overall a little pricey for what it is and definitely not the best restaurant in Lagos.

Fish anda chips moderno con unos tacos exquisitos, sobre todo el de jalapeños. Si vas a ir, mejor reserva. Solo hablan inglés aunque son muy atentos.
