a lovely out of the way restuarant in carvoeiro run by a husband and wife team, Jan and Mark. Food is excellent, once tried you will return time and again.

I have only patronised this bijou restaurant on Sundays, when the main fare is English Sunday lunch (you can choose from the menu if you prefer something different). Sunday is the only day it is open for lunch. The rest of the week is evenings only. The food is excellent, the interior Van Gogh and the service fast and friendly. Highly recommended.

Having read the many positive reviews we chose MaJa's to celebrate our sons GCSE results, and we were so glad that we did. It's clear that the owners, Jan and Mark, have set out to create a menu that is quite different to the other restaurants in Carvoeiro, which can seem almost identical to each other as you walk from restaurant to restaurant in the main streets near the sea front. All dishes seemed freshly prepared and cooked to perfection by Mark, whilst Jan looked after us front of house with a lovely friendly personable service. Delicious food and great service meant a night to remember, with our only regret being that we didn't get a chance to go back again....but we certainly will next time!

Verscholen in een achteraf straatje ligt deze zaak. Om er te komen kun je of a) een trap beklimmen, b) een steile weg oplopen of c) er met de auto naar toe, maar dan heb je wel een navigatie systeem nodig (adres: Rua do Casino 36, Carvoeiro EN hopen dat je kunt parkeren. Wij hadden het geluk vlakbij te kunnen parkeren. Het restaurant biedt een leuke en gevarieerde kaart. Het eigenaars echtpaar is zéér vriendelijk. We hebben er heerlijk gegeten en de bediening was prima.

Ma-Ja's restaurant is a little hidden gem in the middle of Carvoeiro, the food is outstanding. The menu has a great selection. If you are around on Sunday, stop by and have some homemade British stew, try to get there early around noon it will go fast.

A small restaurant with a varied menu. Mainly British and European. Not typical Portuguese. Good food and service.

Der Service ist nett und das Ambiente ist nett. Aber das Essen typisch Britisch. Geschmacklos und ungewürzt. Man hat das Gefühl, dort wird nicht frisch gekocht, sondern Tüte auf und ab in die Fritteuse. Frisch ist hier leider nicht viel. Mir tat es Leid um mein Geld.

A lovely restaurant just behind the main strip in Carvoeiro - a homely British menu with a selection of great Portuguese dishes too make it a great place for a family dinner. And the service is perfect.

Had a great dinner here. It's a nice and cosy restaurant owned by a English couple who do there best to give you a good time!
