celebrating a milestone anniversary, I discovered this property using Amex Platinum Fine Hotels and Resorts and could not have chose better... close to Lisbon, but yet miles away... walking distance to everything in Cascais and just a short ride from Sintra and accessible to the airport via Uber with ease.
but the real joy was the staff and amenities found inside the property... amazing room (upgraded thanks to fine hotels) and incredible service... obrigado.

Notre séjour aurait été parfait s’il n’y avait pas eu un gros bémol au moment du check-out. Commençons par le positif. L’accueil lors du check-in était tout-à-fait à la hauteur du standing de l’hôtel. Tous les membres du personnel que nous avons croisés étaient aimables et prêts à rendre service avec le sourire. La chambre était belle, spacieuse, moderne, propre, avec une grande terrasse qui offrait une superbe vue sur la mer. La piscine extérieure était très agréable avec un personnel efficace et à l’écoute. Les petits déjeuners étaient bons et variés, toujours avec la vue sur la mer. Pendant le séjour, nous avons signalé que la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas. Une personne a dû venir pendant notre absence (avec notre accord) mais le problème n’a pourtant pas été résolu. Dommage quand il fait plus de 30° à l’extérieur… Mais ce qui a un peu gâché ce séjour idyllique s’est produit lors du check-out. Comme habituellement, on nous a présenté une pré-facture à vérifier. Nous avons tout de suite vu qu’il y avait une erreur d’une centaine d’euros environ. Ceci nous a mis dans l’embarras et il a fallu trouver rapidement où était l’erreur. Nous étions mal à l’aise, d’autant plus que la facture avait un grand nombre de lignes. Ex : un dîner=4 lignes dans la facture (1 ligne pour le vin, 1 pour l’eau, 1 pour la nourriture et 1 pour le pourboire). Au guichet, nous n’avons réussi qu’à trouver une erreur de 45€. L’employé a tout de suite reconnu le problème et a déduit en suivant ce montant de la facture. Malheureusement, nous n’avons pas trouvé d’autres erreurs sur le moment. Une fois quitté l’hôtel, nous avons pu reprendre la facture au calme, sans pression : deux petits déjeuners ont été facturés en trop (soit encore 44€). J’ai donc envoyé un mail en suivant pour expliquer la situation, aisément vérifiable. Plus de 48h plus tard, je n’ai toujours aucun retour. Conclusion : si vous êtes prêts à passer du temps au check-out, et à bien vérifier votre facture, alors, foncez !

Very happy with the hotel. We stayed in other locations and everyone is the same great experience. Hotel is very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Situated very close to the beach and JR suite had great views. We had friends stay in a different hotel at the same time and they were not happy with their accommodations. This hotel is modern and would recommend.

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and standards continue to rise. The staff and management are so welcoming and cannot do enough for you. We arrived in the morning and the room was available - we were upgraded to a junior suite. I had contacted Marta prior to arrival to arrange a spa treatment for my wife and this was all organised. We received a nice basket of fruit and some cakes from the manager with a card welcoming us to the hotel. The breakfasts were amazing and they even provided me with a plate of porridge with fresh fruit. We did use the hotel bar food and this was excellent. We will certainly be back in the future as the hotel was excellent and the staff were amazing.

The experience was so nice. It made us want to come back again. We liked that the room has a balcony that opens up to the view of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel has a secure direct access to the walking track towards Cascais and Estoril. That was a wonderful part of our stay. Also, the food in their restaurants were recommendable. Atlantico restaurant was exceptional.

The hotel is great. Ocean front but not on the beach. It was the closest to the beach in the area. Hotel is new and modern. Room very clean and stuff friendly. Used the spa and enjoyed the relaxation after site seeing. Didn’t want to leave.

The hotel was beautiful and our room was beautiful. The gentleman taking care of the bags was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately from the moment we arrived we had the distinct feeling that we were unwelcome due to one of the female receptionists. When our taxi arrived she greeted us outdoors and stated "may I help you" in a tone that suggested we were lost or at the wrong hotel. My wife and I are 27 so I suspect it was our age. Later in our stay we requested a 30 minute late checkout so we would arrive at the airport at an appropriate time for our flight. The same female told us "no, that is impossible." I did not think it was an unreasonable request for a 1230 checkout rather than a 1200 checkout. I also asked her to schedule us a taxi which she never did. It was an unfortunate experience from an otherwise beautiful hotel with otherwise friendly staff.

We visited Estoril for 5 days for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and situated ocean front just a short 5 minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach with multiple ocean front restaurants in all price ranges just 5 minutes away. The staff was exceptional from reception to housekeeping and everything in between. They even did something special to recognize our anniversary day. Can't wait to return.

Les chambres en partie haute côté mer de l'établissement, vous réserve une vue magnifique du littoral. Notre chambre avec balcon est spacieuse, la kitchenette est un plus pour les diners en amoureux face à la mer.
Concernant les prestations de l'hôtel, le petit-déjeuner est copieux, nous n'avons pas pris de repas le soir. Coté équipements, la piscine chauffée d'intérieure est spacieuse, jacuzzi trois personnes, salle fitness bien équipée, et une piscine extérieure. Le bémol, trop près de la route et donc bruyant.

This hotel has amazing views and is a wonderful hotel, but what impressed me the most were the staff. We had our meeting there and everyone from the sales office to the front office staff were so incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. I was amazed that the entire staff was like this. So glad we had our meeting there and I hope to be back again!

My husband has mobility issues and walks with a cane. This hotel was so gracious and accommodating and their handicap room was excellent! It is a lovely hotel with a beautiful ocean view and superb staff. We had several meals there and they were all excellent. We would highly recommend this hotel. There is a convenient train stop right in front of the hotel making it a great alternative to a Lisbon city hotel but still allowing easy visits to the sights of Lisbon all the while enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of this beach location. Terrific!

My wife and I spent 2 nights here before going to Lisbon. Our only regret was not staying longer. Easy walk into Estoril. Beautiful view of the ocean from our private balcony. I highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit the Lisbon area.

Location is perfect. On the waterfront with great view over the ocean and along the promenade to Cascais to the right and Estoril to the left and if lucky as we were the pool. It’s also 2 minutes from the station to get to Lisbon in 25 minutes. Hotel clean, rooms a good size and well furnished and good amenities. Hotel restaurant good but a little pricey.

Lovely hotel and definitely live up to the Intercontinental standard except a couple glitches. Before going into the glitches the reception staff Trang and Daniel at concierge are super nice and helpful. I am very impressed that the train station is literally located 30 meters from the basement of the hotel Parking area. Now let’s cover the glitches ;1) We returned to the room twice and discovered the chain of the balcony door was unchained, which we were always mindful to chain it when we go out. 2) I notice a couple serving staff at the hotel restaurant and bar were coughing, although they cover their mouth while coughing, but they are walking around using the same hand to serve...hate to reported that I got a major sore throat the second day of my eating at the bar( although I am unable to prove it was the staff) however, I appreciate hotel this standard should be more mindful. Apart from these, we have an enjoyable stay.

Intercontinental Estoril is one of my favorite hotels IN THE WORLD! The hotel is elegant, yet not overstated...the ocean view is the star here and this property has done a wonderful job of not distracting you from it. Service is world class, friendly and the staff is tri-lingual (or more) which makes you feel very comfortable. Looking forward to my return trip!

Wunderschön gelegenes familiäres Hotel mit sehr hohem Wohlfühlfaktor (nur 3 Etagen). Ideale Lage: Strandpromenade, Bahnhof. Man benötigt kein Auto. Gesamtes Personal äußerst freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Sehr schöne Zimmer (Dusche mit Farbenspiel), Wellnessbereich und Außenanlage. Auf Sauberkeit und Sicherheit wird großer Wert gelegt. Wunderbarer Frühstücksbereich, Möglicheit eines richtigen Abendessens wäre sehr schön (nicht nur im ATLANTICO). Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

From the time we entered the Hotel; the staff made us feel at home. We were greeted as we arrived, check-in was easy, and we were taken to our room.
Every morning we were greeted and asked if we needed anything.
Breakfast was fantastic, staff was awesome, and the view was terrific.
Wine and Cheese in the lounge was a great experience.
Comfortable Bed, Clean Room, and awesome Bathroom.
Staff is very helpful with daily outings and area information.

Hoje fui comemorar o aniversário da minha sogra no brunch e foi bom, mais preço e qualidade não combinam com de serviço de exelencia de 5* buffet fraco comida boa mais, reposição fraca não dão vazão, bebidas não incluídas e não é informado na reserva funcionários do restaurante simpáticos e atenciosos a vista é que conta foi o que salvou. Quando vc paga por um serviço de 5* vc espera tudo de bom desde a reserva até o final do serviço porteiro simpático já a recepção completamente todas de nariz em pé nada simpáticas sem sorrisos e mudas.fiquei um pouco triste pois vou sempre a brunch de 5* para serviços especiais e conhecer o glamour da comida dos chefes e sempre correu maravilhosamente,bem, já esse não pôsso dizer o mesmo. Vou dar só um exemplo dos melhores brunch de hotel e é o do hotel miragem caiscais é uma experiência divinal. Obrigado mais dou ***

This was our second visit. What's not to like about the IC Cascais-Estoril. Beautiful sea views, great staff, delicious food and drink, easy access to the beach, luxury rooms... A great place to relax and enjoy life. We will return.

Très belle situation, accueil parfait et très cordial. On a demandé une chambre plus haute pour avoir une plus belle vue, ils ont fait le nécessaire dès le lendemain. Belle chambre spacieuse dans une sytle moderne. Vue sur mer du lit et même de la baignoire... Tout est fait pour qu'on se sente bien.
Le plus bel hôtel que j'ai pu faire jusqu'à maintenant.

We booked a night. As soon as we walked in, were treated wonderfully by reception and everyone, we extended our stay and cancelled our other reservation. My wife and I had an excellent time, are recommending this to all our friends, and have raved about the location and staff since we returned. Probably our favorite Intercontinental stay yet. Le point fort de cet hôtel c’est l’incroyable qualité de service qui est constante quelque soit la personne . Valet réception petit déjeuner tous sont super aimables et répondent à toutes les demandes immédiatement. Le fait que j’ai réservé via vente privée à un prix discounté ne les a pas empêché de me surclasser. Le spa très agréable occupe bien en cas de mauvais temps . Toutes les chambres sont orientées vers la mer mais celle du niveau 0 ne voient pas la mer et sont donc vendues sans vue mer

We stayed here for a just over a week after New Year, and absolutely loved everything about the hotel and the area.
This property is an excellent, and fairly unique, addition to the InterContinental portfolio. It has the feel of a really cool upmarket/relaxed boutique hotel, with the benefits and familiarity of being within InterContinental.
The location couldn't really be better for exploring this corner of Portugal - in winter or summer.
Two things stood out about this hotel:
1. The staff, without exception, are fantastic - everyone is so helpful and friendly and kind. What a great team.
2. The building and rooms - I don't think you could have a bad room here given the way the hotel is designed. All rooms have large balconies, so all you see is the ocean - its so peaceful and relaxing, almost like being on a modern luxury cruise ship.
Would love to come back in summer/autumn to use the outdoor pool! :)

Enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental Estoril. The staff was super attentive and kind. We loved the full widows at the front of the room and the outdoor deck which was the size of another room, we were outside in our bathing suits once the sun came up, the sun is so powerful. We spent an entire day at the hotel enjoying the sun and relaxing on our private deck, using the indoor pool and sauna. We had a car in Portugal, the roads are spectacular and it's very easy to drive there, about 15 minutes to Lisbon.

O Hotel Intercontinental é de 5 estrelas fui beber uma Margarita ao bar cá fora com uma vista deslumbrante sobre o mar , o empregado muito simpático e atencioso.
Tem pequenos aquecedores no tecto o que torna o espaço ainda melhor,visto estar as noites muito frias.

Myself and my wife stayed for four nights over the new year period. From check in to departure the staff, at every level, were exceptional.
The property only 59 rooms which also gives it a more family type feel. The location (10 - 15 minutes walk)between Cascais and Estoril makes it perfect to allow you to explore both towns.
I stay in hotel rooms on average 60 nights per year, and I can honestly say that the treatment and quality of hotel stands out as one of the best.

The Hotel is relatively small and we consider that aspect an advantage as far as we are concerned –it was our third stay. The location, half way between Estoril and Cascais, is great as one can walk either way on the path just by the sea water and beaches!... The Restaurant Atlantico has improved its menu and both the Christmas dinner and the lunch on the 26th were quite good tasting experiences. The staff is friendly and attentive. In general, the past good experiences in this Hotel were repeated in full!

We went to the restaurant to try their food and wines . The servers were really nice. We tried at least five different dishes and everything was really good The view and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really top of the line. It was a great fine dining experience. The hotel is right by the train station so it's easily accessible.

Check-in was quick and accommodating. We arrived at 11, well before standard check-in time. We also received nice room upgrade. Trang, at the front desk was fantastic. Thanks to Alexandro for the special welcoming amenity; makes our stay memorable. The location of the hotel is great. It's a short walk to Cascais Center. Will stay again when we go to Lisbon.

As elite member you shouldn't have very high demands regarding benefits. Because of the rather small complex there is no lounge. view to the sea is very nice from the large balconies, but them you have in other hotels in that area and pricing range, too.

fue nuestra primera visita a portugal y tuvimos la gran suerte de estar en el hotel. a la llegada muy atentos y serviciales, la chica de recepción ( no recuerdo su nombre y solo le vimos ese dia) fue muy amable y ha conseguido para nosotros una habitación mejor de la que habíamos reservado. la ubicación del hotel no podría ser mejor, entre Cascais y Estoril (preciosos) justo al lado de la estación del tren y de un paseo junto al mar.
la habitación fue estupenda, cómoda y con una decoración sobria y elegante. El desayuno un 10, gran variedad de productos frescos y deliciosos con unas vistas al mar que hacían una excelente postal matutina, pero lo mejor sin duda el personal, no recuerdo todos los nombres y quizás en alguno me equivoque, pero daniela, paola, francisco y todos quienes nos atendieron, hicieron que nuestra estancia fuera sin duda la mejor.
Tambien he de resaltar que nuestra habitación estuvo siempre impecable (gracias a las chicas de limpieza) y cada noche siempre tenían un detalle con nosotros, una botella de agua y un chocolate, al igual que la indicación de la temperatura para el dia siguiente y algún sitio como recomendación para visitar.
en fin ha sido todo magnifico.
Solo tuvimos un pequeño inconveniente, la noche antes de nuestro check out, solicitamos un desayuno para llevar a las 6:20/6:30 am, puesto que nuestro vuelo era muy temprano, fueron muy amables en recepción y nos preguntaron que preferencias teniamos, pero al final no tuvimos nunca ese desayuno, al día siguiente aunque esperamos casi media hora, nunca no lo prepararon y tuvimos que marcharnos porque no queríamos perder el vuelo y tampoco pareció darle mucha importancia quien nos atendió aquella mañana.
Para terminar quería hacer una mención especial a JONI MOTA quien a parte de educado y atento a sido un encanto cada día, sin duda personas como el hacen que el hotel gane valor y también a ELENA en el restaurante quien compartió con nosotros unas palabras y fue muy atenta y agradable.

Initial room was not as expected. When we explained were told that we could pay for an upgrade, the price offered was a lot more than the price offered on the website for the next grade but the room was identical except it had a better view! The following day this was sorted but it ruined our first day. Food was okay but didn’t feel it was 5*.

We were blown away when we arrived at the hotel, and especially when we walked into our room and out to the balcony. It's an incredible value for everything it delivers:
- Perfect location: out of the busy areas, but quick access to the boardwalk for a short, beautiful walk to Cascais.
- Clean ultra hi-tech, large and quiet rooms with perfect views of the sea.
- Parking garage is the cleanest and most spacious and secure facility I have ever seen. Looks like it would be Bill Gates personal garage.
- Ultra clean hotel, from lobby to room to garage.
We had no complaints and would definitely stay there again if we went back to the area. In fact, we'd only stay there.

Lovely hotel and extraordinary staff! I stayed here beginning of April with a friend and we were absolutely spoiled by everyone. Welcome drinks and a room upgrade was a great way to start the lovely experience. Further more staff was so helpful and engaged with every request it was heart-warming. Delicious dinner and great variety for breakfast. I would definitely recommend and hope to be back myself sometime next year.

Stayed for three nights in October with our two kids in two connecting rooms - and had a delightful time.
Rooms: spacious, modern, impeccably clean and with great seaviews!
Staff: extraordinary, everybody (as in EVERYBODY) went out of their way to accomodate any request and even organized a doctor for our son within three hours for a house call.
Restaurants: large variety in breakfast (although not quite as varied as in Oporto), good Club Experience and Dinner drinks
Pool area: well equipped and with enough space and reasonably spavcious pool with nice bar.
Setting overall: directly by the sea and promenade, close to beaches and Cascais.
Overall a really wonderful stay with excellent service and generous upgrade policy for Spire Ambassador.

ICH Estoril may be one of the smallest in the chain, but with a great location, very welcoming staff and a high level of customer service, it must surely rank as one of the best.
Wake in a very comfortable room overlooking the Atlantic then start the day with a great, fresh breakfast on the open air dining area. Lounge by the outdoor pool all day or walk along the seafront just a short distance away before a sundowner on the lobby bar balcony then a superb dinner in the Atlantico restaurant.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 nights. From the moment we entered to check in we were welcomed by a friendly staff and given all the information we needed for our stay. The hotel grounds are beautiful and our room overlooked the pool .
Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was huge with a great shower and amenities to make our stay comfortable.

The Estoril IC is exceptional. Best sleep you can get, with the sound of the ocean if you choose to sleep with the balcony door open, the trains don't even bother me personally! The views are excellent, the staff friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is located perfectly for Estoril itself, trains back to Lisbon or the short walk into Cascais and beyond.

Lovely Hotel, great position, good staff, BUT beware of the locally living English rich woman who frequents the hotel very regularly and is usually extremely drunk, loud and annoying to all guests and staff and is also accompanied by her 2 dogs who are allowed to roam free whilst guests are eating and drinking and if she stays overnight the dogs can be heard barking from the room. We will think twice before revisiting unless we have assurance she is no longer allowed in as she spoilt our holiday. Spoke to reception who said their hands were tied.!! MONEY TALKS AGAIN !!

We had such a super experience here! The suite was absolutely gorgeous with sea views that so beautiful your eyes won't quite be able to live without after you leave. The team that work there was so friendly and professional. They made our stay fantastic. I would say skip the breakfast as we didn't think it was that great unless you feel like lounging in the hotel all day and not exploring Cascais or Sintra close by. We were also able to hear the people in the suite next to ours very clearly. I could hear a text message come in which shows the rooms are very poorly soundproofed. This proved to be the least of our worries when later there was banging techno music and some serious sounding sex grunts. This provided much entertainment for my partner and I but it wasn't for the faint hearted. It wouldn't put me off staying again and I would happily pay for the suite again as the facilities in the room and within the hotel itself are excellent.

What this hotel in Estoril lacks in size is made up with the personal service provided in all areas of the hotel. All staff from the pool staff to the management team are so pleasant and always ask if our needs are being met - amazing customer service. The location of the hotel and views are stunning. Our bedroom was on third floor and had an uninterrupted view of the promenade and beaches. We were wakened with the sun shining in the bedroom every morning and sat out on the balcony with coffee before going for an amazing breakfast sitting out on the restaurant balcony. Big thanks to the hotel team for providing a complimentary tray of cakes, champagne and a lovely card celebrating our eighth wedding anniversary.

Very memorable experience. The staff was great and spoke English. The service was exceptional and the accommodations were first class. The oceanfront room made it even more special. The rooms were modern and spacious with all the amenities you could want. Lunch at the restaurant was also one of the best we had on our vacation. The hotel is convenient to all the shops, restaurants and casino. I would stay there again.

Amazing hotel in a picturesque spot right on the water with Cascais a €3 uber ride away. Rooms are spacious, light, very modern and be bathrooms gorgeous with light therapy in the shower. Very secure with multiple swipe card access points to ensure guest privacy and safety. Gorgeous pool area with plenty of sun lounges - and the best bit, you can’t “save” sun lounges as when they are not used for 30 mins they are cleared. Breakfast was lovely with a la carte eggs/pancakes/crepes/waffles and the staff are amazingly attentive - one of the staff noted that I didn’t like the taste of a green juice and immediately came over with orange juice. An amazing stay, just wish my friend and I were there for longer than 2 nights.

one small comment: we were there during world cup, and the menu was quite scarce. waiters were very nice..
I would like to commend the lady that checked me out on the night before my departure,, as well as the bell man, my apologies, I forgot their names. they were both so polite, friendly and helpful, and represented IHG very well!

The lady who checked me in was really really really nice (I forgot her name). Then the bellboy and the intern were excellent at presenting the hotel with its facilities along with a warm smile. The hotel, in general, is beautiful but the view from our room was sublime. We enjoyed the breakfast, everything was great. Finally, we had two different bartenders and both created magnificent cocktails.

We have stayed at this hotel last week and several times over the last 4 years. The majority of these times were for short 3/4 nights during Autumn,Spring and Winter (including XMas). Even at these times of the year the weather has been good (maybe we were just luck) but even if it does rain there is plenty to do. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are so helpful and cannot do enough for you. It is so close to the beach and there is a great prom which stretches from Estoril to Cascais. Food and drinks at all meals was superb with a great choice. I'll be back.

We spent the Valentine's weekend at this wonderful property and loved the ocean view from our room. The walk along the sea- wall to Cascais everyday was amazing.
The ocean view from the lobby bar during breakfast and evening drinks is fantastic.

After spending 3 weeks at this hotel I am sad to be leaving, the hotel itself is beautiful , the views and location are amazing! I can not fault anything about this hotel. The rooms are spacious extremely clean, the beds and pillows are perfect. Food is good and the service is the best I have experience the staff can not do enough for you! They are kind, helpful and all lovely!! They have helped us with so many things since we have been here and are extremely accommodating to all needs.

Had a nice view in the dinning area of the ocean. Staff were friendly and nice. Property is a bit dark inside and the perfume scent was a bit over powering in the halls. Our rain shower head was broken and did not work unfortunately. We tried to ask for it to be fixed but we were told to wait until the next day and by then we were already leaving, so never got to use it. They tried to have some personal touch by writing a card to welcome us, unfortunately it was the wrong persons’ name, perhaps the room was meant for that person initially and they moved to another room, not sure, didn’t bother us that much, at least they tried. But a really nice hotel overall.

When I travel to Lisbon, I usually stay at the Intercontinental Lisbon downtown. This was my first stay at the Estoril-Cascais location and I was blown away by the hotel.
First the hotel staff was excellent! Since it was slow season, I was able to have conversations with the staff and get to know them. They were very friendly and I enjoyed learning about their life. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the food was great. The staff definitely made an impression on me and made my stay enjoyable.
The room was also great. I had a nice view of the water and the pool below. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The pillows were a bit too firm for me and I should've seen if I could have swapped them out.
I plan on staying here again in March when I travel for business again.
I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying for business or pleasure.

Una pena que el check-in sea a las 15.00 para poder disfrutar más de la habitación.

We stayed here early January for a post Christmas chill out. Lovely hotel and facilities. Fabulous views and positioned perfectly for a walk along the promenade into Estoril to blow the cobwebs away. Our only downside was that the pool and leisure facilities were closed, this was disappointing as we had chosen the hotel specifically for this. Would still recommend as everything else was very good. The hotel is perfect for couples as it’s more boutique with not too many rooms. Staff very helpful and knowledgable. Good breakfast also.

We like coming to this hotel off season in Jan / Feb for a few nights of winter sun. The view of the sea is amazing, especially from the 3rd floor / breakfast room. The hotel is extremely comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, the Atlantico restaurant is delicious and also has great staff. There is a small spa (pool, sauna, hammam) which we almost always had to ourselves. The only downside on this trip were the noisy neighbors in the room next to ours. But that’s not really the hotel’s fault, though maybe sound insulation could be better. It’s the first time we’ve been disturbed by other guests though. I’m sure we’ll come back!

Property has nice location between Estoril and Cascais, right on the waterfront; rooms are large and modern; spa and wellness area is beautiful; pool was closed despite beautiful weather.
Service was terrible: received pre-arrival email, but no action was taken upon my requests; spa appointment for special occasion was not booked and unavailable upon arrival; received room that is exact opposite of my room preferences (Platinum)

I checked in early and had to wait for my room to get ready. I asked for a bottle of water (happy to pay for it), as I was very thirsty after a long flight from US. They didn't have any at the front desk and told me to go order it at the bar. I had to wait for 30 min for a small cup of water.
The receptionists' English was very limited. Don't try anything slightly complicated.
I loved everything else about the hotel.

Even before we arrived at the hotel the customer service was amazing. I was taking my partner away originally for 7 nights for her birthday. I spoke with Margarida who is a credit to the hotel and the IHG group. When I explained it was my partners birthday she immediately let me know that they would like to do something to mark the day and if I wanted to send some pictures they would arrange a nice surprise. I also asked if it was possible to extend my stay for a further 3 nights and Margarida made it affordable for me to do so with no fuss.
ight from the minute we arrived at the hotel greeted by the lovely team at the cab we felt so welcome. Our bags were taken in for us and we were given a complimentary upgrade to the ocean View rooms.
All the staff were incredible and could not do enough for us for the entire stay. On the day of my partners birthday we she was wished a happy birthday by every member of staff at breakfast and surprised with a chocolate cake. Then when returning to our room from Cascais we had a bottle of Brut and more chocolate cake waiting for us and a happy birthday message. They had also placed the pictures I had sent them up on the bed headboard which looked really nice.
We ate in the Atlantico restaurant attached to the hotel and it is a must. The food was amazing and we both ate shrimp for the very first time and it was so tasty. The staff were amazing and again more birthday wishes, champagne and chocolate cake for the birthday :).
Every aspect of the hotel its self is really beautifully done and the views are amazing from the ocean View room. As amazing as the hotel was though it was the staff that made our stay so memorable so a great big thank you to all the staff there for making my partners birthday and our engagement at the hotel so special.
Miss it already and hopefully wedding there next year? :)

I visited 9 different InterContinental Hotels, and this time is the best experience I had as an Ambassador member. Nice location, the room provided great view of ocean. Modern, beautiful rooms with a lot of space - great views from every room. Roomy balconies. The staff was unbelievable, attentive and thoughtful. The food was great. Beautiful lobby that was decorated for Christmas. It was amazing to eat breakfast every day overlooking the Atlantic, Cascais and Estoril. It was beautiful! The train to Lisbon was right underneath the hotel. It was so convenient. Wonderful to walk along the beach wall! It was everything!

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour, le personnel est au top, aux petits soins. À notre arrivée, nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une chambre vue sur l'océan, petit plus, une bouteille de champagne dans notre chambre en guise de surprise pour l'anniversaire de mon mari, le jour même. Une chambre vraiment confortable, digne d'un cinq étoiles et je tiens à remercier tout le personnel que nous avons rencontré car ils ont tous été d'une gentillesse incroyable et
très serviable. Et pour ce qui est de la ligne de chemin de fer, ne vous arrêtez pas à cela, ce n'est qu'esthetique et encore... Très pratique de l'avoir juste au bas de l'hôtel pour rejoindre Lisbonne. Je recommande sans hésiter.

Great location for us next to the local seaside railway station and within easy coastal path walking to things in both Estoril and Cascais. Easy train ride to nearby Lisbon too.
We used Uber to get around and were pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was and how quick the drivers were to get to us (there seems to be a lot of them) so we did not need to buy expensive private tours.

Stayed there for two days for combined business/leisure. The amenities and the staff service were excellent. Even it might not look convenient on the map, the location is actually very convenient. I can even use Uber to go up to Sintra (less than 20 minutes away) and return.

Any company with enough money can put up a hotel...but not every company can hire and train and maintain the great staff that is essential for a wonderful, relaxing and enjoyable experience. We were welcomed by the Concierge who gave us a tour of the hotel and personally took us to our guest-room. Our room was one of the best hotel rooms my wife and I have ever stayed in and we have traveled the world and have stayed in some of the best hotels and resorts in France, Austria, Japan, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Portugal, Italy and the United States. The room was modern and spacious with a very comfortable king bed, a huge shower and soaking tub and a fantastic view from our balcony. The food was excellent and the wine selection was superb and gave us an introduction to the wonderful wines of Portugal which we will not forget. The restaurant and lounge service was also excellent and throughout our entire stay we found that every staff member we interacted with was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and spoke English. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

A must stay to experience paradise! Was not sure when it was recommended but glad we experienced it. Breakfast was excellent, Property was clean and beautiful. Location overlooking the boardwalk and ocean was amazing. We walked quite a lot and it was safe. Cascais is beautiful. Hotel was walking distance to the village where small shops and restaurants were great. Wish we could have stayed longer. We are definitely going to revisit with more time.

A short walk along a traffic free promenade takes you to Cascais if you can break away from the hotel for a couple of hours.

My wife and I spent two nights here on our honeymoon and we both can confidently say this is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The incredible location, luxurious property, comfortable rooms, unparalleled service and stunning views of the oceanfront from our room all made our stay unforgettable. We will be back someday without a doubt, we would rate this hotel as a 6 star hotel if such a rating existed!

We spent 3 nights in October to get out of the city crowds. It was an excellent stay. The staff was excellent, very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the views, the pool, the comfortable room and everything about our stay.
We received complimentary champagne and cake upon our arrival. This was a great touch and a wonderful way to start our stay.

This is a great property, quite small with only 59 rooms but it offers most amenities of a large hotel. I was very pleased with our stay at this location. My wife and I went there to have a rest and explore the areas around Cascais and we were not disappointed.
The rooms are quite generous in size and are quite comfortable. We were offered a nice upgraded room
overlooking the sea which was very much appreciated. I found the staff quite knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They recognized us everyday and we were greeted by name which
is a rare event in today’s hospitality industry.
The breakfast buffet was fresh and excellent everyday and I
found the pricing reasonable compared to other properties. I highly recommend this hotel property.

I have stayed in many big names hotels all around the world, including Intercontinental hotels but this unique hotel really impressed me a lot. It was not just it's stunning location and amenities, but rather so many personal touches that I felt and enjoyed throughout my stay. Even the personal hand written note from the manager was not just a generic two lines message but rather a full page greeting along with a generous fruit tray and goodies. The staff, especially front desk rep Suzanna, really made me feel like I just joined my family after a long trip. Everyone I encountered was so eager to assist. Overall ambiance and vibe was so natural, pleasant, and full of joy you easily forget you are in a hotel.

This may be my favourite Intercontinental in Europe. I particularly liked the very large balconies with the sea view rooms. I stayed off-season which made it feel even more exclusive.
Hotel is very close to Monte Estoril station but I didn't find noise a problem. Easy to walk to Cascais.
A great place to stay, but not cheap.

The Staff esp , front desk are young and very helpful always trying to go the extra mile . The only and unfortunately twice aspect that let the hotel down really was room service , unable to get the orders right , items on a very limited menu not available, with not alternative, not bringing knifes and forks , not salt and pepper etc etc .towels in the bathroom also was a small challenge but the rest of the hotel was an 8/9 out of ten !

This is a great hotel. Standards are very high, as one would expect from an Intercontinental. But the large balconies and views make it special. Obviously it's not cheap, but a great place to stay if you can afford it.

I was on a business to Lisbon but decided to stay at thee IC Hotel in Cascais-Estoril and commute with a rented car. That proved to be an excellent decision. Fantastic and helpful staff and views right onto the ocean. Went for a run on the esplanade every day and sat at many café and restaurants while there. Room was great and spacious too. Recommend fully.

Staff was really nice and accomodating. Bartentender's were amazing! Food we didn't find to be great... We did find the location to be a bit remote with not a lot of nice restaurants around. The Hotel overall we found to be relaxing and nice for a few days by the water but not a 5 star experience.
Unfortunately we did deal with a few problems, which almost made this a 3 star rating. After we checked in, grabbed a bite to eat and came back to our rooms at 8pm to crash our key cards would not open our door. We went to reception, were told to try again, tried again didnt work, went back, staff came with us to recharge door lock battery, didnt work, went back, recieved physical key to be let in. Then the mechanical man came and was at our door for 20 min. We were told this is a very rare occurance but still put a damper on our evening as we were exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. We recieved 2 free drinks for our troubles. We also were not happy with this room as it was right beside the pool and not private at all. We requested to be moved, but as they had no other rooms available we were moved at 2pm the next day. The new room was an upgrade and very nice with a water view.

We very much enjoyed our 5 night stay. The hotel is well maintained with good size rooms, with private sea view balconies which had the addition of a relaxing sofa/chaise. The public spaces including the bar, lobby and breakfast area are modern and comfortable with a large open area taking advantage of the lovely sea and pool views. The set continental breakfast option from the menu was good value.
The train line is very nearby, but this wasn't particularly noisy and certainly there was no noise in the bedroom overnight. The Monte Estoril station was next to the hotel which was very convenient and inexpensive for a visit to Lisbon or a very quick journey to Cascais as an alternative to the 15-20 minute stroll. Cascais had more of a clear centre than Estoril but beaches were good all along the stretch of coastline and we found some good restaurants about 8 minutes walk up the hill in Monte Estoril too.
All the staff at the hotel were very welcoming, smiley and helpful. Given an added warmth to our visit.

Loved my stay at this property. The location itself is right in between two major cities and steps away from the train station in case you don’t want to stroll along the beachfront boardwalk to the towns. The rooms were comfortable and modern, gigantic balconies (2nd and 3rd floor have them, ground floor has patio gardens) were lovely. The pool area was great - quiet and peaceful and so relaxing. The grounds were beautiful and a good setting to take a break from reality. While nothing is ever perfect, there are two minor items I’ll raise - but neither impacted our stay — 1/ you need your key card for everything and to move around the property. You can’t get through a hallway or into an elevator or exit without it. It’s great for security so I don’t mind but if you’re forgetful, heads up not to forget your key! 2/as a platinum ambassador guest, I was denied late check out despite seeing more rooms available for sale on the app for the following night. I was politely denied but disappointed and given only an extra 30 minutes. I asked again the next day to someone else and without any hesitation, he thanked me for being an ambassador guest and for my loyalty and said “you’ve earned 4pm checkout. You are entitled to it — it belongs to you at this level” and provided it to me no questions asked. I felt bad asking two different people for the same thing but I felt valued by the second employee and am appreciative of him doing this.

They make you feel like you are the only ones there and are waiting on you with your every needs. So friendly and helpful on things to do while you are there. Desde o check in até ao check out que eu e a minha família fomos sempre tratados com imensa simpatia e dedicação por uma equipa de profissionais altamente competente. From initial reservation to final check out, this was an amazing hotel and experience. The location and views from the rooms are fantastic, walking distance to Cascais and Estoril and a quick drive to Sintra.
The staff here are phenomenal, they make you feel like family and are very knowledgeable about restaurants, attractions and trips to do when you stay here. Concierge service and breakfast are top as well.
The rooms are very nice, with the big balconies/views. Bathrooms very spacious and clean.
We will return!

Margarida, and every member of the hotel team ensured our weekend stay was simply wonderful.
She reached out and took control over some room issues prior to our arrival, some of which were accidentally caused by myself.
On arriving early we were personally greeted and shown around the beautiful bar, lounge and pool areas, our room was not ready, so we went off to explore the area on foot, this is a very easy and enjoyable way to embrace the local culture.
We were telephoned to let us know our Premium deluxe room was ready, the room was huge, classy with a day bed on the veranda which enjoys stunning pool and sea views.
A welcome bottle of champagne, chocolates and a very personal hand written card with our photograph on it was so touching, we have been IHG members for over 20 years and this is 1st time such detail was placed on our stay.
The pool is warm with padded beds fluffy towels in the shallows, plenty of private nooks with beds, chairs and tables, the outside bar and grill with its attentive staff could not be faulted, you didn't have to move a muscle if you didn't want too.
The lounge bar area is small but more than adequate for the size of the hotel, pristine table linen and cutlery with a huge array of breakfast items to choose from with uninterrupted ocean views.
In the evening the area has atmospheric lighting, blankets are offered as it can be breezy, the choice of glassed and bottled wines is extensive and many reasonably priced for a hotel of this class.
The hotel was one of the best we have have stayed at and will certainly be returning.

This hotel has helped restore my faith in Intercontinental as a 5 star brand. For a time, I wasn't sure what was happening to Intercontinental. The welcoming staff, Fosteresque modern design, attention to detail, and location of this hotel has helped to recharge my enthusiasm for Intercontinental. This is what Juan Trippe had in mind when he drove Intercontinental into creation. Impeccable service, sophistication without stuffiness, pure professionalism. For me, this place was a retreat. The service at this location is amazing. Checkin, lounge service, breakfast service, pool service, housekeeping, security - everyone we came in contact with was focused on ensuring we were satisfied with every aspect of our stay. We also found this hotel to be a perfect spot to relax while still being able to easily get to Lisbon and Sintra. Cascais itself is amazing and we would highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming to the central area of Portugal. The only suggestion I have for improvement is that "premium ocean view" is really only on the third floor (which is the top floor of the hotel, above is residential). The second floor should not be considered "premium" and should be priced differently.

The hotel is nice but is really far outside of town. Reviews online made it seem like it was a 20-30 minute drive but it was closer to 45. Hotel feels like a good airport hotel but overall is very cramped with limited dining options. Not a place you'd go to vacation, but more of a nice place to stay out of convenience (though, unless you want to be midway between Lisbon and Cascais, it's not all that convenient.)

A magnificent sea front panorama is the reward for sitting on the Bar terrace. Indulge in a glass of cool Espumante whilst you're at it. Very special.

Very well received.
Surprised with upgrade upon arrival and had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.
Room was too hot and I couldn't work the thermostat so I didn't sleep perfectly

Beautiful hotel - exceptionally well located for those taking train from Lisbon (it stops at their back door). You can access an elevator to lobby from parking garage with the assistance of security (to open elevator).

My wife and I had a wonderful 3 nights stay at the Intercontinental Hotel Estoril. We have not experienced in any Intercontinental Hotel world-wide such a personal service. the staff are so friendly and helpful. The concierge service is outstanding. The breakfast buffet is delicious and has so much variety that we found that following breakfast we could not eat another meal until late in the evening. Being a small hotel with just 59 rooms the staff ratio per guest is very high. The hotel has one of the best locations overlooking the sea in Estoril and has a lovely pool and garden area. Having stayed at many Intercontinental Hotels world-wide we found this one to be the best that we have visited. We will be returning.

Greeted on arrival with friendliness and efficiency. Our room was quite nice with a great view of the ocean and comfortable lounge chair and table on the balcony - great for coffee in the morning and relaxing after a day of touring.
The hotel staff were fantastic -- Trang Dang, Concierge was very helpful prior to arrival with answers to a few travel logistic questions via email, and Maria Almeida at the front desk was persistent (and successful!!) in helping to sort out an issue with online Sintra tickets that we ran into. Maria also made suggestions for dinner that were spot-on for what we were looking for.
Daniel, Frederico and Roderigo always greeted us with a smile every day in the lobby.
The location cannot be beat -- step out the back to the ocean/beach and promenade along the water to Cascais in one direction and Estoril in the other with lots of restaurants are close by.
If you plan to arrive by train, you are again steps away from the hotel. The train passes by many times each day but with the extra thick walls/windows - you will never hear it!!!
We appreciated that they remembered it was my husband's birthday - we came back from dinner to sparkling wine and chocolate cake that was delicious!
Highly recommend staying here. It is more expensive than other places but it is well worth it.

We were very happy with the level of service from all of the staff, it felt as though everyone genuinely cared about our experience. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

The staff were very helpful and had good manners unfortunately there were some children who were in a football tournament and they were not in control by there parents even though the staff tried to control them,they did spoil the holiday for those of us who wanted a quiet time but over hall the hotel was good.

My wife and I recently spent 5 days at the Intercontinental at Cascais and we would recommend it and found the front of house staff outstanding and very helpful in making our trip so memorable.

Excellent hotel - friendly and very helpful staff. Good relatively small hotel in a great location with excellent sea views. Easy to get to Lisbon on train and nice promenade along the sea to get to Cascais/Estoril town.
Rooms are good condition with good balcony, bedroom and bathroom facilities.
We stayed for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and the staff made the experience great - sparkling wine and treats on arrival with rose petals over the bed.

Very fancy, Very expensive. But the food is ok. I would not recommend to go there for groups. It is really not typical place to sit and eat there as locals do. But maybe to try some high end meal.

Excellent room (210) with fantastic sea views. Very comfortable bed, powerful showers and spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and attentive. Valet parking was reasonably priced (€9 per night). Very enjoyable 4 night stay despite the cooler than usual weather (18 degrees in June!!)
