Sophie Woods: My partner and I ate at Soho Coffee in the departure lounge for breakfast ahead of our return flight to the UK. As there were only a handful of flights departing that day the lounge was virtually empty, and we were served quite quickly. I ordered an Americano with my avocado, and my partner a Coke Zero and some pancakes. But what made this experience so great was not what we ordered, but what some other customers ordered after us. It was an American group, who were all over the place when ordering. They were over-pronouncing words to the staff as if they were deaf when in actual fact quite a few of them had relatively good English. One woman said she wanted an Americano coffee, asking “do you know what that is?” to a man stood below a menu that included such beverage. “Yes, I do. Would you like one?” he said. “Two” she said, holding up two fingers and mouthing it in such a way that was blatantly rude. “Sure thing,” he said. She returned to the table, only after picking up a couple of bottles of ketchup. And a short time later, their ‘Americano’s’ were ready to pickup. Instead of being served in the usual way, as mine was, the man making the drinks (not the same man who took the order, a different one), went overboard with whipped cream and sugar on top. I didn’t notice this at first, but my partner did and said the staff were messing with them. They hadn’t asked for their drink to be topped off like this, but I didn’t think they would do this. But then another person ordered an Americano, they weren’t American, and it was served in the usual way, ie a cup with no whipped cream and sugar sprinkled all over it. It was hilarious. Anyway, our food was great. Our drinks were good. The service we received was excellent. And the entertainment was priceless.

A pessoa foi rude, não permitiu que meu marido e eu olhássemos para qualquer coisa e foi uma perda de tempo. Fomos abordados por alguém que não podíamos dizer se era um homem ou uma mulher com pregos e voz de cangalheiro e nos fez ficar ao lado da porta e olhar para as nossas coisas, mas não podíamos olhar em volta e abrir apenas por marcação. OK, isto aconteceu por volta do início de Março de 2019. Surgiu uma emergência no Natal, por isso comemorámos em Janeiro. Recebi um massajador de pés de $140 (por aí) que precisava de ser devolvido. Através de todo o caos, o recibo foi perdido. A primeira mulher mais velha foi muito mal-educada. Quando a gerente chegou, oh, ela alguma vez beijou o rabo. Desculpe. Porque não havia recibo, a Gerente tirou 30% de desconto do meu produto! 30%!!. Porque ele não sabia se um cupom era usado, o que não era. Depois, eu ia continuamente à internet e a outros lugares para obter um cupom e nunca, nunca, inventava um cupom de 30%. Apenas 20%. Não conseguia encontrar nada, e a maioria dos funcionários não estava orientada para o atendimento ao cliente. Especialmente enquanto estocava. Na terceira visita, eu disse isso à vendedora e ela me levou para um escritório e fizemos buscas no Google. Ela foi além e além. Infelizmente, ainda lidar com a tragédia do Natal, entrar e ser tratada com rudeza e não acreditar em mim, foi humilhante. Especialmente naquela loja. Eu só queria o dinheiro que me devia. Foi-me fornecido um cartão de oferta, menos cerca de 30 dólares.
