Nice little museum showing the fishing history of the Algarve and some models of military sailing ships. Entrance is free, very nice people.

Small but very interesting. The museum door is the same as the marine authority, not very clearly marked on the outside. Highly recommended.

Recently reopened and definitely worth the visit! We took our 3-year old here and she love looking at all the giant scale model boats, giant fishing equipment and other impressive stuff. You can see the whole museum in about a hour. The perfect trip for a hot afternoon.

The museum will be open between 14:30 and 16:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with Wednesdays reserved for booked visits for groups. Starting from July 2018 regularly.

The Maritime Museum is open from 14:30 to 16:30 located on the second floor of the official port building - south west corner of the marina. Entrance is the same as the port building. There are a number of detailed models of Portuguese men of war - and a famous warship that defeated a large Turkish fleet single handed after Venetians ran scared. A detailed model of how tuna were caught off the lee of Faro. No entrance fee just be interested in the sea.
