Brilliant food the member of staff that served us was polite and there for all our needs, we didn’t leave disappointed and was full, member of staff gave us complimentary drinks

Visited Charminar twice during our stay. Food had been fabulous both times. It has been our favourite meals while in Praia da Rocha. Arif looked after us extremely well, especially as we had our 16month old with us. Good food, good value, good service = Great restaurant. Hopefully see you again. Darryl, Catherine & Lloyd.

Arrived around 19:45, a small number of tables were occupied (3). Food arrived, Popodom and pickle tray, pickle tray was low in content, yogurt sauce was very washed out as if it was thinned out. Onion barges were flat as if ironed!! Main courses were all with rice, all curry's were HIGH in oil content., swimming and small portions. Rice was good. Wine glasses were so small I could not nose the wine. Atmosphere was not of a traditional style. Staff were dressed very casual. Do not expect to return.

Fueron atentos la verdad, pero con eso no es suficiente. Aparte de tardar un montón (eramos tres mesas para la cena), la comida servida no fue de la mejor que he probado en su estilo: pollo y arroz un tanto secos. Vino caliente y no sólo porque saliera así de la nevera. En el salón hacía mucho calor.Nada de aire acondicionado...sólo tenían dos ventiladores para toda la sala!

Nach Italiener, Portugiesen, Irish und Steakhouse wollten wir wieder Mal etwas anderes essen. So sind wir zum etwas versteckten Inder Charminar gegangen. Zum Glück steht direkt an der Straße ein Schild, sonst würde man wohl einfach vorbei laufen. Das Restaurant ist nicht riesig, typisch eingerichtet und im TV lief Bollywood-Musik... eigentlich gemütlich. Leider gab es beim Bestellen dann kleine Probleme. Einerseitz Sprachprobleme, andererseits wurde alles nachgefragt und es wirkte alles kompliziert. Ein Punkt Abstrich gebe ich für die nicht vorhandenen Suppen. Desweiteren war die Schankanlage defekt und es gab nur Getränke aus Flaschen. Dafür einen weiteren Stern Abzug. Das Personal war sonst nicht sehr freundlich und auch nicht gesprächig. Leere Teller wurden nicht zwischendurch abgeräumt, so dass der Tisch irgendwann einfach nur voll war. Das lädt nicht zum bleiben ein und auch nicht zum wiederkommen.

Had wonderful evening with CHARMINAR INDIAN RESTAURANT at Praia da Rocha::) Excellent food, great service and staff. This is the best place for Traditional Indian Food ! Don't spend your time searching for other places. The cocktails are amazing, I recommend for who loves something elegant and well thought.

One of the best Indian meals we've had in a long while - good service, food was hot and the meat so tender it melted. Really was a fab meal. Highly recommended Just been for our second meal, as good as we remembered. Highly recommend

Very good Indian food at a very good price. Everything fresh and tasty, served with a smile. As good as most Indian meals I have had in the UK.

Lovely food, 8 of us went there and everyone was really happy with their meal. The plain naan bread was superb.

Beautiful place a must on the list.i am a curry muncher by heart and coming from bradford and living in a home for 7 years eating plenty curry I am an expert lol this place is amazing so many flavours and 100% fresh. Definitely recommend.

So our first time in Portimao and we needed somewhere that could cater for Gluten free & Vegetarian! This was the place - such delicious and authentic dishes with great service. Definitely recommend to visit this place. Thank you for a great experience!

We were in Portimao just for half a day taking the obligatory Banagali Tour and found this cosy little place by the beach by Googling. Being a Bangladeshi, I normally avoid going to deshi restaurants (I get it at home after all!) but the kids were missing spicy meat after 3 days of fresh fish . We were all very pleasantly surprised by both the flavours and the fantastic service. We thought we’d found a top rated central London Indian food at around third the price. Being opposite a picture perfect beach is a bonus. Upon enquiring we found out that both the chef and the management has had a recent change and moved over from London. Suddenly, the flavour, service and unique ideas of serving in metal karhai made sense. If visiting Portimao from the U.K. I would make this a must stop. We had a hearty 2 course meal for a family of five for €60 (no alcohol) - so the price is right too!

Mittelmäßiges Essen. Es fehlt leider an Geschmack und Gewürzen. Das Naan war eher wie eine Pizza. Das Ambiente ist für ein indisches Restaurant einfach nur mühelos. Wer richtig gut indisch essen gehen möchte, ist hier nicht so ganz an der richtigen Adresse.

This is my go-to place for a vegetarian meal in Portimao, food is very tasty and the staff is very kind. Recommend this place, usually is not very busy so it's easy to be served quickly

We had requested for apartment delivery as its quite challenging to sit down with our little ones. Food was very tasty. Recommend chicken korma. Very creamy, not very spicy perfect for small ones.

Decent Garlic Naan and good Onion Bhaji but the main was terribly bland. Lack of salt, lack of flavor overall. Worst indian I've tried.

Visited here on Wednesday during Easter week for dinner. Although tucked away, the food and service were good - and cheap too!
