Sehr familiäre Atmosphäre mit viel Liebe zum Kochen. Wir hatten Reis mit Meeresfrüchten. Es war sehr sehr lecker und sehr viel. Tolle und professionelle Bedienung. Alle sind aufmerksam. Das Essen wie bei der Mama!

excellent is an understatement. This place was the highlight of our stay in Lagos. The food is absolutely spectacular, huge portions and very good prices. Their paella was out of this world, so much flavour. Their customer service is beyond amazing and very sweet and caring and took us to eat inside right away cause it was cold outside and gave our son crayons. Defintely a must visit in Lagos.

The food was fine. A little bland, but decent. Variety of prices on the menu, which I appreciate. The waiter said we had to buy a drink (water was 1 euro), which was a little frustrating while on a tight budget. Otherwise, on okay place to eat.

This restaurant is amazing! The seafood was incredible and the prices are extremely affordable. My friend and I ate here three times during our trip and tried something different each time, all were delicious. If I ever make it back to Lagos, this will definitely be on my list of dinner "must haves."

Hier gibt es leckeres Seafood, auch authentische portugiesische Küche (z.B. sehr gute Cataplana). Heute hatten wur die Paella, die ebenfalls sehr gut ist. Dazu leckere hausgemachte Limonade. Eine Vorspeise braucht man bei Cataplana oder der Paella nicht, es sind riesige Pfannen :) Aber diese sind auch für 2 Personen, aber auch dann ist es noch reichhaltig. Wir hatten nichtsahnend noch Scampis mit Tomate und Avocado vorweg. Ein bisschen Knoblauchbrot zum essen empfiehlt sich aber. Olivenöl und Salz stehen auf dem Tisch.

We were in Lagos in May and September this year and friends had recommended this restaurant just before our first visit. If you walk through the big archway entrance to the old town down by the old fort and take the first turn on the left you'll find Ala do Castello on the left by one of the hospital entrances.
Delicious Portuguese food at very reasonable prices awaits.
Two of us shared a portion of clams as a starter, they were excellent and the cooking juices so good we ordered bread to mop them up. For my main I had one of my favourite Portuguese meals, pork and clams. Tender succulent pork pieces with mini roast potatoes and a scattering of clams, again the cooking juices were so tasty (I do like clams, honest). The other mains were either fish or chicken, the portions were generous and all enjoyed what they ordered. The house red wine,as usual in Portugal, was very drinkable. It's only a small restaurant so booking in the evenings is recommended.
Our return visit in September was an equally impressive dining experience.

Ich habe mir Lulas bestellt gehabt, aber Polvo serviert bekommen. Wenn man als Portugiese diesen Unterschied nicht kennt, fällt mir auch nicht mehr viel ein. Daher kann ich das Restaurant nicht wirklich empfehlen. Der blöde Fernseher quatscht einen auch immer noch dazwischen. Neee!

Liegt etwas abseits und kann atmosphärisch wirklich nicht mit den guten Restaurants der Stadt mithalten. Aber das Essen ist einfach authentisch und sehr sehr gut. Die Paella muss 4h vorab bestellt werden, und es lohnt sich! Der Service ist schnell.

Amazing restaurant! The most fresh food I’ve ever eaten. Portion enough to feed a very hungry person...but the best is the welcoming atmosphere! The owner and servers are really nice, friendly and ready to describe every detail of the meal. I loved the wine and mussels and I will definitely come back:)

We went for the best paella in town but we did get out with a bad experience. We didn’t know that we needed to reserve 4 hours before for the paella and the waiter told us like it was obvious, was really rude to me and didn’t try to suggest other options. We had already ordered drinks and the waiter told us we were obligated to order food because of that. They didn’t want us to finish our sangria. I don‘t recommend this restaurant to others.

Food is fine, but not fresh (especially seafood). Prices don't include taxes. Some dishes on the menu aren't available. They take quite long time till they serve the food. I don't regret coming here but definitely will never come here once again.

This Restaurant is great. I took my family there really recently and would recommend it to anyone. The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. My wife and I shared the seafood rice which was cooked perfectly. My daughters had sea bass and spaghetti bolognaise. The beer and red wine went down well and none of it cost the earth! We would go back tomorrow if we could! Obrigado!

EVITAR!! NO VAYÁIS!!
Intentan robarte con malas artes.
La comida regular. Nada del otro mundo ni para bien ni para mal.
La sorpresa en la cuenta. Nos cobran la mantequilla (que no habíamos tocado) y las aceitunas que sí pedimos y que eran a 1,30€ nos cobraron 2,60€ por ser 2!!!
Tras discusión con el camarero y con el dueño me quitan la mantequilla de la cuenta pero no las aceitunas justificando que eso siempre se hace así, si hay 2 comensales se cobra por 2... el pan nos cobraron solo uno y también fue para 2...
En definitiva unos ladrones a cara descubierta.
No vayáis a este sitio que son los que dan mala fama a lugares turísticos como Lagos y así espabilarán.

Ottimo posto per del pesce eccellente. Io e mia moglie siamo andati 3 volte. Cataplana raccomandata vivamente. Tutte e 3 le volte che siamo andati c'erano 2 camerieri. Un ragazzo e una ragazza. Il ragazzo ottimo cameriere veloce sveglio e sempre pronto ad accomodare il cliente. La ragazza un po' meno. Molto meno. Manca di sorriso. Per il resto tutto eccellente. Per finire si raccomanda prenotare prima altrimenti per alcune portate si deve attendere molto.

This places doesn’t even deserve a single star! Not only is the fish not fresh, it isn’t local! The clams are white clams from Vietnam (so obviously frozen) along with everything else. We ordered the cataplana for two but although cheaper than the other restaurants it’s actually a much smaller cataplana than other restaurants. It had a dry and thick sauce, wasn’t even cooked in the cataplana. The only good thing was the toasted garlic bread but do order the bread toasted because when served normal it’s stale! Stay away! Pay the extra €6 to €10 and go anywhere but there. The service was slow too! When asked for anything, it took for ever!

I went to this restaurant a few times a couple years back and I was happy with it. Tonight we went there and it was totally disappointing. One of us ordered a camomiles tea which wasn’t on the menu and got charged for €3.7 which a pint of beer is just €2.5! When we wanted to pay and leave, we waited for a very long time, but they waiters were too busy bringing olives and bread to a long table of a bigger group. And even after that they took their time bringing some frozen stuff to the kitchen then made some coffee for other tables. We stood up finally to show that we really wanted to leave, still nothing happened. The waiter only came after us when we started walking out of the restaurant. The food has gotten more expensive than before, but the service has become much worse than we remembered. What a pity!!

Leider kann ich hier die positiven Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Als Vorspeisengang wurde die Thunfischcreme in einem geschlossenen Supermarktdöschen, wie man sie von Streichwurst kennt, in Grammform serviert. Woher kommen hier die positiven Bewertungen, woher der Qualitätsanspruch? Eine Fischsuppe war nicht bestellbar, wie kann das bei einem Restaurant im Zentrum der Fall sein?
Leute geht mal ein paar Meter vom Zentrum weg, dann bekommt ihr wirklich gute Qualität.

¡A EVITAR! Encontramos este sitio en internet y fuimos por su buena valoración. Para nuestra sorpresa, la experiencia no fue nada grata. Nos hizo esperar sin poder confirmarnos que tendríamos mesa. Nos pudimos sentar. Al traer la carta, después un rato decidiendo, se acercó a decirnos que pidiéramos ciertos platos determinados diciéndonos que iba a ser lo más rapido. Al decirle que no nos importaba esperar, se puso a dibujar de mala manera en la mesa para decirnos que no era una opción. Nos apetecía bacalao y solo podían hacer 2 para 9 personas. Peor experiencia de cara al cliente que he vivido jamás. Además amigas han puesto comentario y solo han respondido con copia y pega. Ese es su tipo de atención. Fuimos a 2 Irmaos, muy cerca y muy recomendable.

Trato desagradable por parte del camarero. Únicamente nos dejaba pedir los platos que ya tenían preparados (almejas, mejillones...) y de una forma muy autoritaria. La carta era larguísima y decía que no tenía lo que queríamos (bacalao), cuando estábamos a primera hora del turno de noche. No recomendable.

We went here on a weeknight and were able to grab a table without a reservation after only 15 minutes of waiting. I am glad we stayed as I cannot remember a meal that I enjoyed more!
While the place was a bit intimidating at first due to the amount of people packing the restaurant, the staff were both friendly and helpful in making recommendations. My wife and I ordered the seafood rice and two hours and two bottles of wine later, we were forced to give up trying to finish it, not because we didn't enjoy it, but because was an unbelievable amount if food. If we ever make it back to Lagos, this will be the first place we will revisit!

This restaurant has possibly the best seafood I have ever eaten. Starting with the octopus salad, was definitely the most tender octopus I have eaten with great flavours. The main which was shared, Seafood Cataplana, was amazing and recommend to anyone! Once you have tried it you will say the same. However you may want to order when you make a reservation as it did take a little while to serve. Worth the wait. For a small husband and wife team with one other waite staff, I'd have to day they do exceptionally well. If you are in Lagos and love seafood this is the place to go. Prices are very reasonable and you won't go hungry.

Começou mal, pão torrado com alho todo queimado. Mando trocar e o empregado fica me olhando como quem diz "este gajo está a gozar comigo"... Veio o patrão e lá trouxe um cesto de pão normal... Não havia amêijoa algarvia, tinha de me contentar com a branca ou vietnamita...a salada de polvo estava boa. Vinha comer o Espadarte, mudei de ideias pois achei o preço exagerado (15€) quando já tinha visto a 10... Bons preços e variedade nas carnes.

Nos pedimos el menú (10,50€), entre plato y plato esperamos una barbaridad de tiempo luego la comida no estaba muy buena. Había dos camareros uno súper simpático (era el más mayor) y el otro todo lo contrario y el trato con mucho desprecio. Solo puedo opinar del menú y del trato y la verdad que no volvería a venir.

Українське вміння куховарити вдало поєдналось з португальською кухнею ))) Подорожуючи всією країною і харчуючись у безлічі ресторанів, можу ствердити, що тут -найсмачніша кухня ) порції доволі великі ) сервіс на вищому рівні ) персонал вільно спілкується п’ятьма мовами ) рекомендую всім ) дякую вам за чудову їжу і приємні емоції)

Etwas abseits gelegen. Einfache Ausstattung des Gastraumes. Störend ist das etwas zu laute TV Gerät. Essen war gut, gekochter Kabeljau mit Beilage für 10,50€. Sehr guter Sangria, 1.0 Ltr. 10,-€ und sehr guter Service.

This restaurant is tucked up a side street by the hospital, it was recommended to us so we thought we would give it a go. It was ok, there was nothing wrong with it, the food was pleasant and plentiful, the staff were friendly, if rushed, as this place is busy, but for me there was nothing that stood out.

The restaurant looked rather messy.We ordered a wine and a cataplana cause we wanted to eat portugese food. We knew what it should taste like and this one was reaĺly bad and not tasty at all. The waiter had his earphone and mobile all the time in his hand. We went to a lot of restaurants and I can honeslty say that the Portugese warmth anf service is hard to find here. We even went to another restaurant to get our dessert. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. In Lagos you can eat very tasty food, do not spill your money here.

Ein einfaches, familiengeführtes Restaurant. Hier habe ich die beste Paella meines Lebens gegessen. Perfekt zubereitet mit besten Zutaten. Die Paella ist für mindestens 2 Personen und muss vorbestellt werden. Nur zu empfehlen.

Restaurant sympa aux allures très familiales, le restaurant ne paye pas de mine comme l'on pourrait attendre d'un restaurant Français, mais là vous êtes au Portugal ! Nous avons pris une Cataplana, et après 45 minutes (annoncés et que nous avons acceptés), notre plat est arrivé ! Et là ... Un Régal ! Servis dans une marmite très typique, ce plat avait beaucoup de saveurs ! Nous nous somme régalé ! Merci pour ce repas !
Service agréable et souriant en anglais uniquement, le serveur seul courrait partout mais avait une bonne gestion des ses tables ! Bravo !

Este restaurante encontra-se muito bem situado e com uma esplanada bem decorada. Apresenta uma ementa variada, com alguns pratos típicos portugueses e outros espanhóis.
No entanto o atendimento é péssimo, um dos empregados não fala português nem apresenta simpatia ao receber os clientes. Estive 2 horas à espera de um bitoque e de dois pratos de filetes com arroz de tomate, sem falar no tempo que estive à espera para fazer o pedido.
Por fim, chegaram os pratos, e a comida era razoável. Não acho que compense estar duas horas à espera por este tipo de pratos, principalmente quando o restaurante estava quase vazio!

Lo ponían bastante bien en internet pero no nos gustó mucho. Además de muy lentos, la comida estaba normal comparada con otros sitios que hemos probado...

Highly recommended. Best food in Lagos. Prawns in garlic, sardines, sea bass, bread with garlic - everything was perfect. Real family restaurant. Owners take care about food and service. Don't mind simple style. You will enjoy everything!!!

It is a very friendly family owned restaurant. We have ordered 2 starters and 2 main courses and the place was run out of 3 of them. Reason behind is that regular chef broke her leg and substitute was not as experienced. Nevertheless after we have chosen our new orders the service was great and foods were also delicious. We would recommend this place for everyone who likes good seafood and friendly services.

We came here in order to get paella. Upon arrival we learned that paella must be ordered 4 hours in advance. This was disappointing but we decided to stick with it and ordered cataplana. The food was excellent.
In addition to the disappointment with the paella, the poor server was alone to serve everyone in the restaurant. He worked extremely hard but there's only so much one guy can do. At one point he was working at least 11 tables by himself (while playing bartender, greeter, bus boy, cleaner, etc.). This was an unfortunate situation for everyone and I hope gets fixed soon with better staffing.

My wife was in Urgent Care across the street and since it was a 25 min walk back to our hotel we opted to eat first rather than come back. The food is fabulous - we had the Seafood Cataplana (seafood stew) stuffed with mussles, clams, shrimps and squid. €29 for two. Great sangria, and the waiters were warm and welcoming. When asked if the food was good, the waiter said it better be...his mother is the cook in the kitchen! Highly, highly recommend this off the beaten track restaurant.

I visit here round 22:30. The staff told us it is too late for the food, but he tried to ask kitchen, and finally serve us the "Cataplana". Food was amazing with local home recipe. It was the best Cataplana I ever had. Staff was so kind. This restaurant looks like a kind of touristic restaurant, but I believe the food and service is one of the best!
Located just in front of the emergency entrance of hospital. Therefore little bit feel uncomfortable at outside table in the night time. But still okay with beautiful alleyway.

Amazing and really fresh food. Aside from meat, fish and seafood it has vegetarian and vegan options as well.

Food was good, service was great. However I felt the majority of menu was geared towards an English pallet, with some of the dishes listed. When in Portugal eat Portuguese food!

The food was a plain okay but got pretty annoyed when the waiter tried to push stuff that wasn't ordered by me then when I called it up to him, he ill mannerly said I don't have to consume it if I don't want to pay for it which is rather uncourteous and scammy. Additionally, they don't take cards which is something rather unusual nowadays

Best restaurant we went to in Lagos, and we tried many. It was to the point where we went twice in 6 days for dinner. Everything was delicious from beginning to start. Muscles are fresh and delicious. Everything is fresh. They run out of the fresh stuff quick so go early. Call in advance for paella (minimum 4 hours) .

Delicious Cata plana. Great wine selection and nice atmosphere. Place is well recommended and we had a nice dinner experience here. After trying out several other options in Lagos I'd say this place is above average, but not in the upper echelon.
