Sehr authentisch, ganz frisch gegrillter Fisch, super nette und aufmerksame Bedienung und dazu noch preiswert. Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert!

Ein MUSS für jeden der gerne Fisch isst. Hier gehen die Einheimischen essen. Gegrillt wird auf Holzkohle. Die Portionen sind sehr gut. Es gibt tägliche Abwechslung, je nachdem was der Fischer im Netz hatte. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen!

Excelente comida y ambiente poco turístico, con ritmo y haceres portugueses. Buen servicio sin ser "demasiado profesional" y precios muy asequibles. Toda una experiencia sentarnos en una mesa cercana a la parrilla y ver afanarse al chico con las planchas.

You don't get a menu here. What you'll get instead is a variety of fresh fish and seafood to pick. The fish is grilled, the mussels cooked in wine. Potatoes and tomato salad or whatever is fresh that day. It's very good, feels far from the tourist traps and the staff is very friendly.

Niepozorny z zewnątrz lokal kryje niesamowity zapach i smak. Bardzo przyjemny klimat, wręcz rodzinny. Duży wybór ryb, owoców morza i mies w dobrej cenie. Do każdej ryby frytki lub ziemniaki, za 2 euro można dobrać sałatkę z pomidorów i cebuli - polecam! :) Uwaga, nie można płacić kartą! Ewentualnie niedaleko znajduje się bankomat :) Pod koniec wizyty zostałem poczestowany kieliszkiem mocnego bimbru - bardzo miły akcent na trawienie ;)) Polecam rybnym smakoszom jak i zwykłym zjadaczom rybnego mięsa.

Der Fisch war gut auf dem Feuer gegrillt, wurde aber leider ohne jegliche Zutaten auf einer kalten Platte serviert. Wir bekamen auch keine Speisekarte und das Servispersonal gab uns keine Infos über Möglichkeiten. Der Häuser in war schlecht.

Delicious! A big fish, enough for two people, french fries, boiled potatoes and a tomato salad for only 19€ (drinks included). Big recommendation! Waiter and cook were really nice and friendly :)

Péssimo atendimento. Não havia descafeinado, não havia multibanco nem passaram fatura. Às 23.30 fecharam a cozinha é mandaram nos sair. Muito mau!

Nice people, tasty fish!
I have been there for a lunch after reading a review about this restaurant. The reviewer was totally right. Very good place to have some fish. All my friends were happy and it made me happy too.
We had more or less 6-7 fish and bread with mixed salad and wine. We paid 52 euro. Amazing value!

The best salmon I have ever had. We came to the restaurant because of the proximity to our apartment but also the good reviews. We were not disappointed. First you need to choose your fish/meat and then you choose a seat. We ordered three different kinds of fish from which the salmon was the highlight. The other fish were also very tasty. With the fish/meat you get cooked potatoes and can order a typical Portuguese tomato salad with it, which we did. We also ordered a liter of white wine. In total we only paid 35 Euros. Amazing flavors for an amazing price. We will definitely come back and also recommend it to other friends.

Ottimo ristorante locale la cui specialità sono pesce e carne alla griglia. Piatti semplici, gustosi, salutari e convenienti. Il pesce o la carne vanno scelti direttamente dalla vetrina frigo, il personale è simpatico e oltre al portoghese parla inglese. Super consigliato, il pesce locale sopratutto! Se vi piace guardare il cuoco cucinare i piatti scelti, sedetevi a uno dei tavoli vicino alla griglia. Ma tenete presente che il giorno dopo i vostri vestiti profumeranno di pesce alla griglia.

Tipico ristorante portoghese, personale gentilissimo e molto alla mano, banco di pesce e carne freschissimi dove si sceglie cosa si preferisce mangiare.
Antipasto, grigliata di pesce per due con sardine, gamberoni e salmone, 1lt di vino, 1 birra, un caffè il tutto a 34€!consigliato al 100%!

Españoles mal recibidos.
Nos acomodaron en una mesa pegada a otra mayor que no tardó en quedar libre. Mientras esperábamos a que nos trajeran los platos, llegó un grupo. El encargado, como no entraban todos en la mesa adyacente, sin consultarnos, quiso acomodar a dos de ellos en nuestra mesa. Le comentamos que no nos dejaba espacio ni para las fuentes, él farfulló algo incomprensible y siguió en sus trece. Le dijimos que en esas condiciones nos iríamos. Un camarero intentó arreglar la situación. Había mesas libres en otros comedores. El encargado se lo impidió y lanzó un par de insultos contra los españoles. Nos fuimos de inmediato.

Das ist ein kleines, aber sehr schönes Restaurant ohne richtige Speisekarte, es wird serviert was gefangen wurde und der Fisch oder das Fleisch direkt an der Theke ausgesucht. Das Personal ist super nett und die Preise sind unverschämt günstig! Fantastisch!

J'ai pris des palourdes très bonne.
Parcontre ma grand mère à commander des huîtres elle étais très chaude, impossible de les manger elle aurait fini malade.
Pour le plat commander un calamar, qui est arriver juste griller même pas accompagner d'une sauce et non vider !!!! Vraiment infect !!!

É um restaurante muito interessante . Tirando o facto do cozinheiro estar chateado com um dos empregados de mesa, gostei bastante. Recomendo vivamente a canja da Ria Formosa. O salmão estava bom e a salada de tomate também... As batatinhas cozidas com a pele estavam muito boas... Pecaram por chegar já o salmão tinha quase desaparecido com a salada... O café não cumpre lá muito bem...

Great tasting grilled seafood with a nice salad, like a Greek salad without the Feta and very nice baby potatoes. All nicely cooked. The sardines were especially good. I'm going to be controversial but the sardines (and the mackerel) were much better than any of the Spanish ones I've had.
Obviously, the guy who got sick in the previous review wasn't because of the dish if he's only just started eating it. It would be from the previous meal.

Great tasting food and good prices. But unfortunately, my friend got sick and threw up in the restaurant as we finished the first of the two dishes we ordered.
We tried to leave respectfully by talking to the server in the hallway and not in front of the rest of the guests. We even left them 5 Euros as we quickly exited the restaurant to get meds.
However, we were called back by the server to pay for the first dish that we ate (my friend only had a bite from the second dish, which was largely untouched and may have been the cause of the bug)! In what world do you pay for a dish that had half of it go down the toilet (the other half remains inside of my stomach and hopefully won't need to come out)!?
The poor server was so worried that his boss wouldn't believe him that he started making excuses that everyone else is eating the same dishes in the restaurant and that it could have been something we ate previously (although the last meal we ate was 7-8 hours ago). I had to let my friend continue to make his way to the meds, while I went back to talk to the restaurant manager.
After I stood in front of managers like an idiot without saying a word, while the server was explaining the situation in Portuguese, I was given a big thumbs up and dismissed without paying anything. Which further confirmed that there was trust issues between management and the server, and poor service as I don't recall them even offering an apology.
This review will probably do little to decrease the rating or caution others from attending the restaurant, instead the hope is that it will catch the attention of restaurant managers to improve their relationship with the servers and educate servers on how to deal with rare but unfortunate circumstances such as the one my friend went through.

Das Restaurant bietet gute Qualität in einer wirklich unschönen Atmosphäre. Der Service ist nett aber sehr gehetzt, das Essen ist wirklich nichts besonderes (aber die Qualität stimmt) und verglichen mit anderen Restaurants in der Stadt, liegt das "O Chalavar" eher im Mittelfeld.
Wir würden eher nicht wiederkommen.

Chez chavalar on y mange peut-être bien, mais ne soyez pas trop noir car il y a du racisme dans l'air pour certains membre de l'équipe et qui se voit de façon très claire. Il y a une dame qui fait l'air d'être aimable, mais à la première demande j'ai eu droit à un soupir et une jeune femme qui encaisse très froide, sans aucun respect et impoli nous demande de régler en cash d'une manière très agressive lorsque je lui présente le paiement en carte, alors que rien n'est écrit à l'entrée du restaurant pour spécifier le mode de règlement.
Jai du aller chercher de la monnaie au guichet et quand je lui donne les sous elle me renvoi la monnaie comme si j'étais un chien!!
De plus si vous venez avec des enfants en couches, ne les changez surtout pas car ils refuseront que vous la jetiez dans leurs poubelles en ayant un air très dégoûté.

Não correu bem, as sardinhas estavam mal assadas. Demoraram muito tempo a trazerem a comida e como não bastasse, deram-na a outro casal que chegou depois de nós, tive que ir reclamar. Já lá fui no inverno e fui bem atendida.

Ottimo il pesce Fresco del giorno che scegli direttamente sul bancone, a prezzi più che onesti. Viene cucinato tutto sul momento. Al momento di sedersi viene consegnato una insalata di cortesia (€2) ed il contorno è incluso ( patate bollite per il pesce e fritte se si prende la carne). Ci abbiamo mangiato diverse sere, tra cui una di carne, e nonostante avessimo preso la bistecca di vitello (più costosa di tutta la carne) siamo rimasti insoddisfatti, poiché troppo cotta alla piastra e non sembrava un taglio fresco ma congelato e scongelato. Meglio il pesce.

Excellent Food at low price! I Paid 20 euros for 2 adults and one child : fish was fresh and delicious, meat was tasty, and they give you a free dwlicious tomatoes salad. The only bad point is waiting too long and waiters not enough careful with clients, the restaurant is victim of his success!

За 20-30€ на двоих, можно наесться до отвалу морепродуктов, все готовят на углях, есть мясные блюда. Рыбу и мясо выбираешь сам, с витрины. Единственное, что не понравилось - это вино, которое льют с тетрапаков, лучше выбрать, что-нибудь в стекле.

Una taberna tradicional portuguesa. Su mayor atractivo es ser auténtica. El lugar está lleno de esos azulejos decorativos típicos de Faro y carteles antiguos. Tiene una enorme barbacoa al fondo donde asan el pescado. Tienen gran variedad pero lo que más salida tiene son las sardinas. ¡Riquisimas! A 8 euros la ración y una riquísima ensalada a dos euros, no es nada caro.

Restaurant qu'un local nous à recommandé. La carte dépend de la pêche du jour, excepté le lundi car les pêcheurs ne vont pas à la mer le dimanche. Les poissons sont à des prix dérisoires (entre 5 à 10 euros). Je recommande la salade de tomates et oignons en entrée (1 euros).

Entering the restaurant I felt I am in the house of a fishermman`s family, except that all the rooms were dining rooms and crowded with all kind of people (locals, backpacker tourists, businessmen, the guys from the docks) enjoying simple seafood grilled to perfection.
The service was a bit chaotic and slow to take our order, but once the order was taken, the wheels were greased. The staff was however friendly and helpful, but you could notice that they have capacity issues at peaktime.
What we ate:
Dorada fish: grilled perfectly. The texture was great and the taste was simple - no spices only salt - and very satisfying just by itself, probably because the fish was fresh and the dourada has a very nice taste without having to upgrade it with spices.
Sardines: properly grilled and both the texture and the taste were amazing thanks to the extra coarse salt they used when grilled.
Fishes were served with simple tomato and onion salad and cooked new potato (as usual here).
For dessert we tried the orange cake and the almond cake. In a previous review, about Cafe dos mestres in Fuseta I mentioned that I will try orange cake at every restaurant I eat in Algarve. This is the second place I eat it and so far the best. Was less sweet than at the Cafe dos mestres and the taste of the orange was more dominant.
The place is like a big home restaurant and the athmosphere and the interior design is in harmony with the food they serve. The place has quite positive vides, it is perfect to have a joyful, loud family lunch or dinner with friends.
Price for value: so far the best in my Algarve restaurant wanderings.

Great food. Not good, but great. In most simple way of cooking it's was prepared in most brilliant way. The fish, dorada, was so soft and delicius, that even I, who don't like fish, want more. And prices are outrageously low!

Excellent restaurant de poissons frais, typique, authentique, fréquenté par de nombreux locaux, le serveur est super sympa et les prix sont imbattables : moitié moins cher que dans les autres restaurants, le poisson est excellent, essayez le loup de mer (sea bass), on le choisi en vitrine. Ils proposent même des couteaux. Sans hésitation l'un des meilleurs restaurant que j'ai fait au Portugal.

Simple beautifully cooked food, you walk in, choose what you want to eat - fish, shellfish, chicken or red meat. The local food is cooked well, the staff had limited English but were very helpful and attentive. Wonderful experience, we will definitely come back.

Al entrar parece un sitio cutre pero es muy tradicional de la zona. La lubina a la brasa estaba espectacular acompañada de patatas cocinas. El precio es muy económico y la calidad del pescado es buena.

Családias hangulat, főleg helyi vendégek. A halat vagy húst kiválasztod magadnak a pultból, és azt grillezik számodra. Az ízek hihetetlen finomak a friss alapanyag és a fatüzeléses grill miatt. Az árak mérsékeltek, szinte olcsó. Kiváló borok, finom köretek. Mi kell még? 5 csillag!

Amazing fish restaurant. There is no menu, but you get to choose from a selection of fresh fish (or meats if that is more your thing) and they bring out a set menu. The wine is fantastic value and the food is phenomenal. Make sure to try the tuna if it is fresh, the dorado (bream) is also fantastic and the clams as a starter is amazing (make sure you save some bread to mop up the sauce). Unbelievably good value and food.

Fui num grupo de 14 pessoas.
Chegámos às 13 horas e fomos colocados numa sala completamente vazia.
Os primeiros pedidos só foram servidos 1 hora depois.
O meu vinha sem acompanhamento de salada que tinha sido pedida, visto eu não comer batatas. E ainda por cima, vinha frio.
Os meus colegas só foram servidos cerca das 15 horas, depois de toda a sala que entretanto encheu.
Portanto, o serviço e o atendimento foi péssimo... A não repetir...

Great prices(6/8 euro a full dose). The place is very traditional old school. The service is in the slowish zone (depends on the person attending really). But the fish comes right after your request.

Il s'agit d'un restaurant de grill de poisson et viande. Tout est présenté dans un présentoir,on choisit et ça passe au barbecue.
C'est très copieux et pas cher. Repas simple.
