Great food, menu in four languages, friendly staff (hi Amaro) and great views of the ocean and beach.
Nice tasting seafood and good dessert. Absolutely recommend anything fishy and the chocolate mousse after! Enjoy!

Schade das das Lokal von der Landseite aus aussieht wie eine Frittenbude. Vom Strand aus, kommt es einem Restaurant schon näher. Wir haben nur Fisch gegessen und waren wirklich begeistert, von der Qualität und dem Geschmack der Produkte. Ein muss für Fisch Liebhaber. Die Einrichtung ist Geschmackssache. Was die Kellner und auch uns genervt hat waren die Touristen die nur in Badehose im Lokal herum gelaufen sind und sich mit den nassen Badesachen auf die gepolsterten Stühle abgeparkt hatten.
Das hatte leider den Nachteil das der Service nicht wirklich seinen Job machen konnte und wollte. Das bekamen wir auch teilweise mit Ignoranz zu spüren. Wir werden aber wieder kommen, dann aber am abend, wenn die lästigen Strandläufer nicht mehr da sind.
Jetzt waren wir auch abends da. Wesentliche entspannter Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Auf jedenfall reservieren, wenn man abends kommt.

Wir waren jetzt zweimal in diesem Urlaub hier essen. Der Service ist aufmerksam, freundlich, leicht distanziert. Das Essen ist einfach nur lecker. Wir hatten immer Fisch, egal ob frisch oder gelagert, die Zubereitung und der Geschmack waren ein Gedicht.

When we first arrived we came here, the food was at best average and highly over priced. The best bit was the starter which was a tuna carpaccio but the main course I had was a swordfish steak with no sauce and chips which was incredibly dry. The staff were attentive if a bit brusque and the views were lovely. For the money there are much better places all over Lagos with more interesting food.

Comi o caril de gambas e estava bom. Eu gosto dum caril bem picante mas não era. Também provei o arroz do polvo (um bocadinho salgado mas bom) e o novilho (muito bom!!)...
Voltarei com certeza.
The restaurant is right by the ocean and has an incredible view. The waiters were very attentive and provided a great service overall!
I had the prawn curry and think it could've been spicier, however, for those who don't like too much heat it was very good :). I also tried the octopus rice and the beef - they were both also good (the octopus rice was slightly salty)...
I would definitely return.

Food was overpriced for the taste of it but I guess you are paying extra for the amazing view. Food was not bad by any stretch, but is nowhere near worth the price. Cocktails are on the pricier side compared to other bars in Lagos. Go for the view but expect to leave a little dissatisfied

Campimars is always welcoming and great to visit day or evening wether for a light lunch , drink or full meal. The staff are professional yet friendly . Food is always good especially the fish. Frequented by many portuguese so a lovely mix of people. Highly recommended.

Perfect location. Sadly the service is not on top. Sometimes you can order within 15 minutes, sometimes you have to wait a bit longer. Somtimes they remember what you ordered, sometimes they don't. A bit expensive but then again, what's to expect from a restaurant on the beach? The small bar outside is serviced by a lovely waitress so I recommend to hang out there instead of inside if possible.

A 3 personne pour boire un verre et grignoter on nous refuse la terrasse acceptable vue les nuage qui arrive après avoir commander nous attendons 5bonne minute pour avoir des sandwich froid sans sauce , ayant prit un sex on the beach je me rend compte que j'avais de la compagnie dans mon verre .... un petit moustique super .... au moment de l'addition pas un sourire pas un regard bref même juste pour un passage je dirai à éviter dommage

Sowohl Strandbar, als auch Restaurant direkt am Meer gelegen. Meerblick gratis. Freundliches Personal. Gut strukturierte Karte mit Extra Tagesangeboten (Fisch!!!).
Es dauerte etwas bis das Essen serviert wurde. Dafür kam alles gleichzeitig und die Empfehlung des Wirtes war die riichtige Wahl.

The restaurant was great and the food was delicious , just a pity that the waiter (Miguel) spoiled the experience for us. We were seated in the walkway and requested to be moved to the open table with the better sea view and he straight up said NO. Then when I asked for my leftovers as takeaway, he chucked it away and said it was “miscommunication” after I made a clear request. He didn’t take the time to even stand still at our table while talking to us and just mumbled to us in the passing. Great birthday experience Campimar.... not.

of the two restaurants on the beach (actually, the ONLY restaurants in the area?!) this is defo the most family friendly and has a good holiday vibe. the food is good, we can recommend the monkfish kebab which is very tasty. good kids menu too. we'd recommend you book early in the day for eating around 8pm as it does get very busy.

Great restaurant with a good variety of fresh seafood (and other dishes as well), very nice and helpful staff and a beautiful ocean view. We were so pleased with this restaurant that we had lunch or dinner about every second day during a 10 day vacation in Lagos.
One of only two restaurants at the Porto de Mós beach, the restaurant is relatively crowded during daytime which inevitably influences the service. However, at night only the inside tables are in use, and with fewer guests the staff is very helpful and attentive. If planning dinner at the restaurant, it may be an idea to book a table. However, we only booked once, yet the staff always managed to find a table when we did not book.

Restaurante/chiringuito a pie de playa, con una terraza dónde se está genial a la sombra. Muy atentos los camareros (aunque algo lentos), nos recomendaron muy bien y elegimos los pescados fresquisimos del día. Las raciones son abundantes y todo nos gustó mucho. También tienen carta con pizzas, hamburguesas... Los de la mesa de al lado pidieron y tenían también una pinta buenisima. El precio bastante acorde a la calidad, sin resultarnos caro. Muy recomendable si se está en la zona.

Amazing seafood at solid prices. Good variety of Portuguese wines. Located on the water so great views to be had as well. Friendly and helpful staff. Winning combo if there ever was one. I had the grouper, which was cooked to perfection. Incredible meal eaten with the Portugal WC game televised in the restaurant. Great experience.

Sehr gutes kleines Lokal, haben dort einige Male gegessen. Freundliches Personal, trotz der vielen Besucher. Angenehme Hintergrundmusik und das Essen ist toll. Sandwiches, Toast, Salate oder auch Spaghetti schmecken alle wunderbar. Und die Nachspeisen sind auch ein Traum. Und das alles zu einem recht günstigen Preis bei der guten Lage direkt am Strand!

We came here for drinks - nice location and reasonable price for drinks - never tried the food but looks good on the menu. Therefore one star. Yet the service (not all of them but a lady in particular) was only focused on her own convenience - we’d like to have a drink inside due to the strong wind at 5pm - also planned only to stay 30min - way before guests arrive for dinner - the answer is no. And the day before there were plenty of guests for drinks inside even at 18:30. The only reason is “we cleaned the floor already and covered the table” - we own an apartment here at the beach and will probably became loyal guest - yet due to this stupidity we will never come again. There are other choice at the same beach. A great example of how (wrong) people impact (negatively) a good business

This place is like a personal taste test. If you have none, you'll like it. Love it., even. Cheap ingredients cooked with all the skill and care of a 1970's school canteen. If I threw a pot noodle and some frozen ALDI veg at a microwave the result would be better, and I despise pot noodles and frozen veg. Fortunately, this was also hugely over-priced and complemented by tacky decor, so it achieved an impressive trifecta of awfulness. A perfect, cynical money making trap for hapless tourists wanting a beach view. Efficient service.

1 star for the location (which is perfect), 1 star for the view (which is beautiful). And that's all about it really.
If you want something more than this for your money (and I mean a lot of money - super overpriced), suggest you find another place.
The food is not good, tasteless, the veg is clearly from a frozen bag, and the whole place has a very odd setup.

Love this place. Nice open seating area out the back offering wonderful sea views. Would recommend the Bifana ( a traditional pork sandwich), along with a pint of crystal clear Superbock - always served ice cold. Fantastic views of the golden sand beach - great family place. Well recommended.

Smacznie, wręcz bardzo smacznie i ładnie. Myśleliśmy ze jest to bardziej plażowy bar, ale w drugiej części lokalu jest część elegantrza, z obrusami i obsługą kelnerską. Jedyny minus, to tłum plażowiczów stojących w kolejce do baru i hałasujących, ale to w końcu Beach Bar.

Excellent food with a bit of room for better service
We were a party of five and all the dishes were excellent. Fish & shrimps as fresh as directly from the sea, noodles al dente, chicken with herbs and fries were delicious.
Waiting time was a bit too long even when the place was not humming.
Some of the waiters were very friendly, others were still practicing to be nice.

Terrible walk in experience. We were told to wait for a table while he gets it ready. However it seems all he ever does was collect some plates from others and get the check for others. When he come back to us only asked “inside or outside” then we were leAd to another waiter and were told again to wait for him putting reserve signs around. No apologies for waiting or anything just let us hanging around in the restaurant.

i have no words left for this restaurant. we were waiting for about 10min next to the "wait to be placed shield", approximatelly 10 waiters were passing by but no one of them was either greeting nor taking care of us 3. even the "hola" was ignored. one of the waiters started moving around the tables in front of us placing reservation shields, still ignoring us. i almost felt beeing transparent. i can't say anything about the food but the service was the worst experience i've ever had. if you want to be ignored and have a terrible service, then this is the place to be, otherwise i recommend you to look for anything else or cook by your own ;-)

wir warteten über 10 minuten am eingang am schild (bitte warten sie hier). alle aber wirklich alle kellner haben uns gesehen aber es hat niemand interessiert. in 10 tagen urlaub in portugal mit abstand das unfreundlichste und desinteressierteste restaurant. unterirdische gastfreundschaft und nicht zu empfehlen, wenn freundlichkeit wichtig ist.

We did not reserve a table but we got a table for four persons outside. It was a little bit cold outside but there are heaters on the wall and the waiter gave us some blankets. Overall the waiters were friendly and experienced and they are able to talk english. The food was delicious and the steaks were cooked medium as ordered.
We had no desert but they were looking really tasty.

Horrible service! After an hour and 15 minutes of being completely ignored (no bread, no asking us if we needed a refill on our water, not even looking at us) I asked if we could please at least have bread or water and was just brushed off. When I told them that my 8 year old daughter couldn’t eat her food because of a silvery metallic & white gooey looking fry (I showed the waiter), he replied that it was just burnt and not a big deal. I’ve seen Burt fries...that was not a burnt fry. I understand that it’s a Friday night & a busy time of year, but that’s no excuse for such terrible service. Everyone around us seemed to be getting much better service.

Wir waren total begeistert vom Essen: das Grilled Tenderloin ist der absolute Wahnsinn - perfekt gegrillt, sehr zart und gefühlte 300-400 Gramm groß Wir hatten noch das Garnelen-Curry was ebenfalls einzigartig lecker war. Wir kommen definitiv nochmals ins Campimar zum Schlemmen und Genießen. Das Personal ist übrigens sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und absolut hilfsbereit.
P.S. Ein Platz auf der Terrasse mit Blick aufs Meer empfehle ich zu reservieren.
P.P.S. Die Preise sind mehr als angemessen: Steak 18 €; Curry 16 €.

Uno de mis lugares favoritos de Lagos. La comida siempre buenísima, tanto el pescado como la carne, y con muy buenas vistas de la playa de Porto de Mós. El personal es especialmente atento y amable (especialmente una chica brasileña muy simpática) y suelen ser bastante rápidos. Es recomendable reservar porque suelen tener bastante gente. Para mí es visita obligada en el Algarve.

The one star is for the location, fresh orange juice and fresh fish BUT it couldn't make up for the terrible service : you are ignored to be seated, refused tables for no reason, ignored to be served, and when you finally manage to order, you have to wait 40min although the restaurant is empty. On top of that performance you don't get even one smile from any of the 7 waitors and waitresses.
Also we recommend to avoid the burgers, it's not real meat.

Sehr gutes Fischresti am Praia Porto de Mos, dem westlichsten Strand von Lagos. Hier gibt es nicht nur Fisch und Seafood im Ganzen, sondern auch typisch portugiesische Spezialitäten, wie Cataplana (geschmorter Fischeintopf) oder Aroz Polvo (Reis mit Oktopus, köstlich!), letzterer kostet 15 € und reicht locker für zwei Personen! Gut besucht, in der Saison muss man sich mittags und nachmittags um einen Tisch anstellen, ist es aber wert!

Mal trato por parte de la camarera que decide ignorarnos y no atendernos pese a que apenas había clientes. Este restaurante tiene tomada gran parte de la playa y no se permite poner la sombrilla en la zona central para no obstaculizar las vistas de sus clientes en las tumbonas.... alucinante!!!
Así que no recomendaría ni el restaurante ni la playa, un fiasco.

I have travelled about 40 minutes from where I was staying to try this place and from the moment I arrived outside I didn't even realise that it was a restaurant. There was a little cafe/ice cream parlour out front for the people from the beach and you had to squeeze your way through the ice cream line to get to the actual restaurant where you were met by a sign that told you to wait to be seated. As I waited there a young lady approached me and just told me to just go to the outside seating area quite bluntly and then walked off. The indoor seating area was completely empty but it did have a beautiful interior with some amazing views of the ocean. After arriving to the outdoor seating area I decided to sit up on the top deck with the sea view where I was met by a waiter who quite rudely told me to sit on the lower deck as he was preparing a booking in that area, which hasn't arrived throughout the whole of my stay at the restaurant, resulting in me sitting next to a wall in the back corner. I had to wait for a menu to be brought over so just decided to pinch one from the table next to me after which I've been approached by a different waiter who changed the whole experience for me. This is the timeline of what followed:
16:40 Order placed and Table prepared
16:47 drink arrived (Strawberry Mojito)
16:51 starters arrived (Gazpacho Andaluz &
Oysters)
17:04 finished starters
17:08 plates taken away
17:12 main dish brought over and served tableside with nice plate presentation (Octopus Cataplana with Sweet Potato)
Finished first portion and waiter came straight over to plate the rest of the cataplana

17:43 dessert arrived (Petit Gateaux)
I absolutely enjoyed each of the dishes that was served. The oysters were fresh and tasty. The gazpacho was served with ice cubes which was a perfect cooler for the hot day but didn't water down the flavour. Cataplana de Polvo was absolutely amazing with the flavours balanced perfectly and the sweet potato being cooked to perfection where it was extremely soft to cut but not mushy, the only thing I will say is that the coriander is quite powerful when you first try it but it still tasted amazing. The chocolate melt in the middle cake was delicious and went perfectly with the ice cream. This dessert was perfectly balanced with the hot and the cold, the slightly bitter dark chocolate with the sweet ice cream. It was the ideal little cake to finish the meal. Unfortunately the strawberry mojito had too many bits swimming around in the glass for my liking. There were too many mint leaves and loads of blended strawberry pieces which kept getting stuck in the straw when I tried to drink it, I understand that it's all decorative but the "over the top" line was stepped over with this drink.
Overall I really enjoyed this experience after a few hiccups and would definitely come back here if I ever decide to travel to Lagos again

Wir haben lange in Lagos ein gutes Restaurant gesucht, leider war viel Nepp dabei. Das Campimar unterscheidet sich hier grundsätzlich. Auf den ersten Blick alleine schon durch die Stoffservietten macht es Einen teuren Eindruck. Wir waren aber beim Blick in die Speisekarte total überrascht. Angemessene Preise, Frischfischtheke, leckere Gerichte sowie eine immer freundliche Bedienung zeichnen dieses Restaurant aus. Wirklich zu Empfehlen.

Zweifelsfrei ist die Lage am Meer traumhaft. Das Personal ist auch sehr freundlich. Die Speisen sind durchwachsen: während der Fisch gut war, war das Schweinefilet extrem zäh und die Beilagen 0815 - insbesondere das Tiefkühlgemüse. Das geht wirklich gar nicht! Die Speisen kamen außerdem so schnell aus der Küche, dass wir noch mitten bei unserer Vorspeise waren. Wer also einfach etwas essen möchte und nichts großes erwartet, wird hier fündig. Alle, die wirklich lecker essen wollen, sollten den Fisch nehmen oder doch woanders hingehen.

Pas mal du tout. La carte propose beaucoup de plats locaux et de fruits de mer. Le coup d'oeil est bien entendu unique. Le service est normal. Les prix sont évidemment en rapport avec l'endroit très touristique un peu élevés mais quand même raisonnables.

Always friendly and we are only popping in for coffee and pastel de nata. Can easily monitor the children from the outside eating area. Pleasant.

Atendimento excelente. Comida muito boa. Desde camarões ao alho a um bife à portuguesa como já não comia há muito tempo. Tem hambúrgueres caseiros! Vista para o mar de cortar a respiração! Adorei!

Only had beer so I'm not sure about the food but service was prompt...and the view is spectacular. I could watch all day. A good reward if you hiked the trail in, or there is a m bus stop right there for the blue line as well.

Great place with good choice of food to suit all palates. Staff can be rather 'off hand' at busy times. Fair play they though they work relentless hours.

Nice restaurant serving excellent seafood and other meat dishes. Service can be painfully slow and staff seem to be very disorganised. But if you can grin and bear it, it's worth it. A great place to watch the sun-set, if you can get an outside table at the rear of the restaurant.

Menu com pratos muito variados de grande qualidade. Um dos poucos sítios em Lagos onde se come excelentes ostras. Também disponibilizam uma boa variedade de vinhos. Local a não perder.

Great place to watch the sunset and have a cocktail. Service was great. Food was very average and expensive for what it was.
