Another delicious meal - great to be back. Really tasty Red snapper followed by their amazing bonbons of salted caramel and lemon &thyme. Topped off by friendly helpful staff. Not quite warm enough to sit outside but just as lovely inside the restaurant.

Comida deliciosa! Ingredientes frescos e pratos muito bem preparados! Foi difícil escolher entre tantas opções deliciosas. Cada prato que chegava nas mesas ao lado nos deixavam com mais vontade. Um lugar para se recomendar e voltar se pré que possível!

Seafood war ausgezeichnet, noch nie so gute Tiger Prawns gegessen. Vorspeisen waren ebenfalls der Hammer. Preislich zwar etwas teurer, aber für die Qualität und den Geschmack absolut in Ordnung.
Der Service war ausgezeichnet und die Location locker und total entspannt.

Nous sommes arrivés par hasard dans ce restaurant. L'accueil est déplorable, à moins que vous n'ayez un gros portefeuille. Ambiance froide, on avait l'impression de deranger. La cuisine est cependant de bonne qualité.
Après qu'une serveuse est renversé notre verre, elle ne nous a rien offert en retour.
Nous avons dit au revoir et aucun serveur n'a daigné nous repondre.
Je ne recommande pas cette adresse.

Nous nous y sommes arrêtés pour boire un café en pensant y revenir déjeuner. La froideur de l’accueil nous a décidés à changer de programme. Sûrement un très bon restaurant au demeurant, si toutefois l’absence de sourire et d’amabilité ne vous perturbe la digestion. On avait l’impression de déranger, c’est bien simple, on se serait cru en France...

Great food, delicious and reasonable prices if you don't eat for 2 and add losts of drinks. Only weak point is the desert menu which is quite small (3 options only), and staff that is nice but not specifically super friendly. Yet I had a good time there :)

Just an overpriced restaurant with very small portion food
The owner keeps defending that the price is clearly shown on menu but not for fish grilled. The grill seabass/seabeam costs €65 per kg is not reasonable when you can have a grilled fish at near by restaurant is not more than €16. The bread, butter and olive cost €6.50 I paid €45.50 for the smallest fish they have for today. Like others mentioned, be avoid and not to visit again.

Fantastic food and fantastic service. We really enjoyed our late afternoon lunch of fresh grilled local fish. Prices are mentioned on the menu outside so we knew we were in for an expensive lunch! But totally worth it. The staff were extremely friendly and quick with the service. Loved the Sangria too. Totally recommend this place.

Really really delicious place. It looks local and small but the menu is great. Me and my friend had pasta penne and octupus risotto and then dessert. All of this was absolutely delicious and dreamy.

A lovely restaurant 100metres up the hill from where the boats leave for Benagil caves with a nice view overlooking the bay. Beautiful food with many freshly caught fish dishes to choose from (the sea bass was delicious), the service was excellent and our children were spoken to like adults, but their food (from the couple of choices available for children) was served quickly as they could see they were hungry! All in all I would heartily recommend eating here.

Phenomenal restaurant. Despite being so near a touristic hotspot, the funny, sympathetic owner has kept the quality up to snuff and the service above and beyond. When my girlfriend had to take a call, they thoughtfully reheated her dish.
There are a few vegetarian options on the menu, recommended.

If you’re anywhere close to this place you simply have to go. You could always have frozen pizza for 11 bucks down at the beach, but why would you when this gem is just a short walk away?
They do have some higher priced options, but there really is something for everybody here. I must agree with an earlier commentator and praise their squid ink linguini. Also don’t miss out on their incredible sangria! The service and the ambience were simply great, we felt very welcome and are looking forward to coming again. The next reservation is already in the books.

INCREDIBILE! Pranzare sulla terrazza con la vista sull'oceano da sensazioni irripetibili.
Il cibo eccezionale: linguine al nero di seppia con cozze freschissime, polpo cucinato in maniera impeccabile, lasciandolo così morbido da essere un vero piacere per il palato.
E... I dolci.. oh mio dio!

Called in for a late lunch on Sunday afternoon. Service was attentive and quick. Waiters spoke English, French and a bit of Irish ☘.
There is a choice of reasonable and expensive dishes. There was also a range of wines from around €17.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience.

Service is great, food is very good and tasty! I ate the best linguini with seafood ever! Also the view was lovely and very romantic.

The food was great (say 4,5 stars), but we arrived at 14.30h (a group of 6 with reservation); the table was ready for us right away, but than we had to wait more than one hour and a half for the dishes (for an expensive restaurant that's not acceptable). And the wines are quite overpriced!!! But still, the food is very good and you get a stunning view from most tables.

Being the only restaurant (or one of the very few) in Benagil on Christmas day we made a reservation there and have been very happy with our choice. Prices are very high, but the fish is excellent, both as far as choice and freshness. Meats are first quality as well, cooked to perfection. Service was kind and attentive, so for us this was a nice restaurant for a prolongued stop, walking there from Da Rocha Church and back after lunch.

Mal servicio. Tardan mucho, poca calidad en la comida servida y un precio excesivo. En concreto las cataplanas servidas con marisco pasado, berberechos que no se abren, mejillones con mal sabor.
No lo recomendaría ni pienso volver.

Great experience and service. Had a delicious pasta with salmon and prawn spaghetti on the balcony with sea view. And our dessert, the carob and fig cake was just the perfect closing for our lunch. Not too sweet, not too much. Perfect for sharing.

Visitamos o espaço numa segunda-feira ao almoço. A música super agradável, atendimento cordial e eficiente, decoração acolhedora e localização excelente.
Comida muito boa, escolhemos como entrada as ameijoas a bulhão pato e como pratos principais salmão com batata doce e espaguetti neto, as sobremesa foi a palheta.
A carta de vinhos poderia ser mais extensa.
Estacionamento municipal grátis próximo do restaurante.
Altamente recomendável.

The ultimate in luxury dining. Absolutely gorgeous food, stunning decor, lovely ambience and a great team of attentive staff. If you're looking to spoil yourselves them this is the place. It is fancy but yet still comfortable and it caters for children too. A definite must do. Overlooks a lovely little beach where you can also book your Benagil cave tour from.

Wir sind per Zufall hier gestrandet. Das Essen war absolut ausgezeichnet. Der Kellner konnte uns gut über die aktuellen Fische informieren. Noch nie so guten Fisch gegessen. Bei genug früher Reservierung bekommt man auch einen Tisch mit Meersicht.

Muy caro. Una copa de vino verde 7 euros!!! No se os ocurra pedir te de menta!! Ponen un vaso de agua caliente con unas hojas de menta q sabe a agua caliente!! ABSOLUTAMENTE LAMENTABLE. con esto me refiero a la comida y al trato. El sitio es precioso y por esa playa no hay mucho más donde elegir, por lo que es atractivo. Ya empezó mal, tardaron muchísimo en atendernos a pesar de que no todas las mesas estavan ocupadas, tuvimos que llamarlos varias veces. Los precios eran caros pero supusimos que serían deliciosos. Pero todo lo contrario: una ensalada de atún y algas de 15 euros q eran 5 rodajas finisimas y secas de atún con cuatro canonigos, punto y final. Alucinante, pero eso no fue lo peor, los segundos eran lamentables, un pulpo, un taco de salmón y una picaña que valian 20 euros cada uno, y que eran escasisimos y estaban malísimos, secos y/o churruscados. Pedimos las hojas de reclamación y el trato fue lamentable, unos chulos desagradables. Asi que espero que el sitio no dure mucho tiempo mas abierto, por el bien de los futuros comensales.

Wonderful place, just up the Bengali Beach. The food is excellent and thoughtful from people that love what they do. The service is great and fast also in busy times. Prices and portions are reasonable at this quality and the menu offers a great variety, which tastes also during the burning lunch sun. The only suggestions I may have is to install either an AC or provide fans as it can quite hot inside.

En rigtig hyggelig restaurant med lækker mad med alt lige fra frisk fisk til burgere og tempurrejer og andet lækkert. Udsigten er smuk!! Og servicen var fin. Prisen er hverken billig eller dyr. Vi kom af med 44€ for burger og drikkelse for to personer og rejer til deling . Det er en lille hyggelig restaurant og med smuk udsigt hvis man får en plads på deres teresse.

Das Restaurant wird auch in Zeitschriften gelobt. Leider können wir das so nicht teilen. Das einzige was gut war, war der total überteuerte Fisch. Das Essen meiner Frau ein Katastrophe (ungeschälte Garnelen in einer Currysoße) - wie schält man dann bitte die Garnelen. Getränke viel zu teuer und ein miserabler Hauswein. Die Kellner hatten keinen Plan. Ich warte heute noch auf den Rotwein.

Wat een geweldige ervaring, verse vis gegeten en met dé beste uitzicht van de Algarve gegeten. We hadden op het terras de beste plekje gereserveerd op het einde. Fenomenaal uitzicht over de Benagil. Voorgerecht de schrimp tempura, heerlijk met dikke garnalen erin. Gekozen voor de verse vis en we konden ons visje kiezen, ze zagen er vers uit, net alsof het uit de zee kwam, laat het wel wegen en je kan vragen wat de prijs wordt, want gaat per gewicht. Gekozen voor de zeebaars en nogmaals fenomenaal. Enige kleine kritiek is de wat norse kale man die chagrijnig overkomt en niet echt wilt helpen, de dames daarintegen zijn super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Dit restaurant is wel stevig aan de prijs, en wil je buiten zitten? Reserveren want de tafels buiten zitten al dagen van te voren tjokvol!

Le meilleur cadre que vous puissiez trouver à Benagil. Le service est très professionnel et arrangeant, et les plats sont très bons pour des prix qui ne sont pas excessivement chers comparés à l'emplacement du restaurant.
Nous y sommes allé sans réservation et avons trouvé de la place pour deux sur la terasse arrière du restaurant donnant sur la mer : expérience top ! (la terrasse fait environ une 15aine de places).

This restaurant came highly recommended but ended up being a huge disappointment. It is a quaint place with a great view of the ocean and features some nice fresh catches of the day. Reservations are required and we had a fairly large party of 12 guests. Unfortunately the view and reservations were the best part of our experience. Time for the actual review;
The portions were crazy small compared to what you normally receive in the area.
The catch of the day is supposed to be sprinkled with salt and grilled in olive oil. I ordered the dorado cooked normally, another guest ordered the sole with no olive oil and salt only. My dorado was extremely salty and cooked dry without the olive oil, the sole was dripping in olive oil and barely had any salt. Food fail #1
The fish is supposed to come with a salad and roasted potatoes. The servers must not communicate with the cook though because we weren't served our potatoes with the fish and salad. It took us asking the servers five times before we got our potatoes. Food fail #2
Additionally when we finally got the potatoes the fish was cold. Food fail #3
The total bill for our party of 12 was around 460 euros, almost 40 each for portions that were 1/3 of the size we received from a hole in the wall we ate at the day before for about 12 euros each.
If you want to eat at a place with a nice view and good ambience, this is a nice place. If you are hungry and don't want to spend a fortune, this definitely isn't the place for you.

Took ages to get the drinks, the table and the food. The service was semi-retarded and unable to do their job. If this was due to management or the staff I do not know. However, most of the food was ok and the view is great from the balcony. The burger was a huge fiasco (quite expected) and they are unable to serve avecs in smaller servings than 5 cl. On the picture is my brother when we finally got the drinks, which were, in all honesty, as good as we could expect. A solid 3/5 for lack of self awareness and a stunning view.

Never again...
We had a confirmed reservation for 10 persons on the terrace.
After we arrived at the restaurant the terrace was reservated for more important guests so that we should sit inside on a very hot day without AC although it was promised on the phone that we could sit outside.
The manager didn’t show up and the waiter let us go to another restaurant.
Keep treating your guests like this, O Pescador... we found another brilliant restaurant at Ferragudo and had a great evening after this disappointment.

Great fish, mixed feelings about the service! This very knowledgeable lady waitress explained us everything about the different fishes available. Nice job! The beers took 20 minutes to arrive, this goes against typical restaurant service. Can be improved... We ate inside, it was a bit hot. My friends asked for a selfie and one of the waiters plaid a prank on them by taking a selfie... Should have deleted after the prank because now the prank can turn against him... Yes, that’s the “curse” of the internet. I was not very happy because he could have brought us the beers before doing pranks. Otherwise I would be ok, I’m a sucker for a good prank. The food was good, mostly the fish. The desserts were also nice. The starters were ok, looked more promising on paper. The view is nice... If you’re outside. The overall experience was nice, not sufficient to come back for a second time as there are many good options in the region. I hope the Fisherman (“Pescador”) has a perfect catch next time, this wasn’t it.

Durch Zufall an diesem Restaurant vorbei gekommen und waren mit allem sehr zufrieden. Sehr freundlicher Service, selbst der Küchen Chef kam am Tisch vorbei, fangfrischen Fisch an der Kühltheke ausgesucht und innerhalb kürzester Zeit serviert bekommen. Das beste war dann noch der Preis, inkl. Wein für 3 Personen unter 40 Euro.

Très bonne adresse au pied de la plage de benagil. On y mange très bien ! Nous avions pris les spaghettis aux crevettes avec suave tomate maison (excellente) et les linguine aux fruits de mer (a tomber) avec une salade de crevettes. Das Essen war wirklich gut (wenn auch für portugiesische Verhältnisse eher teuer). Leider wurde uns der Aufenthalt durch den arroganten Kellner verleidet. Das konnte auch die Qualität des Essens nicht aufwiegen. Zu allem Überfluss haben wir, obwohl das Lokal um 17 Uhr nur zu einem Viertel besucht war, fast eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. Als dann auch noch gerade das Essen unserer 4-Jährigen vergessen worden war (wohlgemerkt “nur“ Pommes Frites), gab es nicht mal eine Rückmeldung des arroganten Kellners, geschweige denn eine Entschuldigung... da konnte auch die tolle Aussicht nur unsere Tochter nur bedingt ablenken.

Das Essen war sehr schlecht, ebenso die Bedienung.Der Fisch hatte ganz trübe alte Augen. Die Bedienung war schleppend bis kaum anwesend. Das Dessert schmeckte nach einem fertig angerührten Pulver. Die Küche war schmutzig. ?Katastrophe!!!

Estuvimos haciendo la ruta de los sietes valles colgantes, pero ibamos con peques y paramos aquí que está más o menos a mitad de ruta. Buscando para almorzar escapamos de un bar cutre junto a la playa y pescadores y subimos hacia lo alto. Por fuera se ve como una casa con una terracita en la parte alta donde habia personas comiendo. Nos acercamos y vimos carta fuera. Los precios algo subidos pero por la hora y niños decidimos entrar. Directamente fuimos para terraza. Lugar estupendo, unas vistas peeciosas a playa y lugar pequeño y coqueto. El personal muy amable, la atención muy buena. Pedimos comida, pescado y plato tipico zona, calidad estupenda. El pescado ofrecido de varios tipos y tamaños para elegir y fresco. Comimos y estuvimos echando un rato muy bueno. Atención perfecta, pescado para niños mejor limpiado de raspas que podriamos haber hecho nosotros por cortesia de camarero. Por poner alguna pega el precio del pescado y general pero es un restaurante y con sitio y vistas muy buenas. El aseo: algo pequeño. 8 de 10.

What a magnificent find at the end of a 7km trek along the coastal path. The location is stunning. The decor is relaxed, Algarve rustic charm, with good music and the ocean as the acoustic backdrop. And the food... I had the king prawn spaghetti and it was delicious (washed down with a crisp house white). I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon ❤️ (the picture doesn’t do it justice!)

Pior cataplana que provei. Quase não tinha batatas nem peixe, que eram peixes permanece como barbatana e com dois camarões,apenas tinha 2 camarões. Mau serviço, não espere meia hora até o garçom chegar . Além de tudo isso, o preço é alto, então nós comemos Eu não recomendaria este restaurante

We stumbled upon this amazing restaurant live guitar with a view of the sea. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We couldnt finish it all and they even packed some of the linguini in a box so we could enjoy it the next day! Would recommend highly.

I really recommend the rib is soft and tender. The sauce is perfect and have potatoes and salad. After having fun at the beach, this good meal is fantastic.

Super resto ! Cuisine maison ! Arrivées à presque 14h, les serveurs parlent toutes les langues et sont supers, gentils et réactifs ! En tant que végétarienne, ravie du gaspacho avec Burrata très bonnes patates frites (équivalent de bonnes Potatoes maison) ! Mon amie qui as pris le TATAKI de thon a trouvé que ça manquait un peu d’assaisonnement mais très bon poisson !

The place is really nice, great view, tasty fish but EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. For the look of the restaurant I would not expect to pay €65 per Kilo as it counts the head and bones. So it was a bit of rip off as the service was not great. They were giving more attention to who was ordering more...Let's say, the rich people. The water came hot and I had to ask for ice a few times after they bring it. Even to ask for the bill was difficult. My boyfriend had to put the shirt on to get in which was a bit strange as it is a quite simple restaurant by the beach, there is no air conditioning and it was very hot. The fish is tasty, the lady removed some bones but we still found some, good salad, the banofe dessert was quite good too but I would not pay it again.

Stumbled upon this restaurant after we had a boat tour around Benagil caves. It was such a fantastic find!
The salmon taco that we had was super fresh and was very delicious. The portion was very generous as the taco was overflowing with salmon pieces topped with seaweed salad.
The octopus risotto was my personal favorite. I really liked the fact that the octopus was tender and not at all rubbery. Perfectly seasoned as well.
We managed to get a table in the patio overlooking the beautiful sea view. That was an added bonus.
This restaurant is one of my favorites in Algarve!

Prix du poisson très élevé...possible d'en trouver du tout aussi bon et pêché de la nuit pour moins cher dans un petit resto dans le coin. Pour la vue, nous étions côté entrée donc on en a pas vraiment profité. Le serveur vous enlève l'arrête centrale et les petites arrêtes de votre poisson devant vous. Çà pourrait être chouette (façon resto gastro) mais comme il met un peu de temps, du coup vous récupérez un poisson plutôt froid. Belle assiette végétarienne (brochette tomates, champignons et poivrons; des épinards et une bonne surprise avec des algues wakame au sésame). Cher pour ce qu'on vous sert.

Avoid!!! Waited an hour for our starter to be told there wasn’t enough room on the grill, hence the delay. Eventually got our main course one and half hours after ordering. No apology from the restaurant and when we asked for a good will gesture off the bill they said there was nothing they could do and threatened us with the police if we didn’t pay in full. Never been so poorly treated by a restaurant.

Wir waren voriges Jahr begeistert von dem netten und freundlichen Service! Heuer wurde dieses positive Erlebnis leider absolut nicht wiederholt! Ein Kellner hätte uns bei der Weinauswahl helfen sollen! Er war aber nur genervt und schüttelte den Kopf! Bei der Fischauswahl kam er mit dem Tablet! Ich fragte nach einem Red Snaper! Das verneinte er, nur die die er uns zeigte! Am Nebentisch wurde aber der Red Snaper Minuten später angepriesen....
Resultat: schade um den Abend wegen arroganter Bedienung!!!! Für ein Restaurant in dieser Preislage absolut mieses Service!!! Never come back!

Comida genial y trato excelente. Las 3***/5 son básicamente por 2 motivos:
1 - Precio abusivo por el café. He estado en mejores sitios de Portugal y en TODOS cualquier café con leche vale menos de 2€... no 3'5€ que cuesta aquí.
2 - El hecho de que la cuenta sea 58'5€ y yo te de 60€ no es motivo para que pienses que la propina serán 1'5€ y no me traigas ni la vuelta. La propina es algo VOLUNTARIO que se da en base a tu experiencia en el mismo.
No obstante lo dicho, sitio idílico, terraza maravillosa y comida muy buena. 2 platos, 4 cervezas, 1 café y un postre = 58'50€.

La comida está bien pero de cantidad es muy escasa, hemos comido una cataplana para tres y no tenía apenas pescado, sobre todo era sofrito, realmente esto lo tienen que mejorar, de sabor estaba bastante decente. Hemos reservado a las 14:30 y nos han tenido esperando 45 minutos, exagerado, una vez sentados hemos esperado para la cataplana 1 hora, no es normal.

Met tussen pose van een jaar nu hier 3 keer gegeten, was altijd super goed eten top service en sfeervolle locatie. Maat vanavond was niet best, al hoe wel het eten super van smaak was waren er een paar eigenaardigheden. Uit ervaring hadden we wel even gereserveerd voor 4 en een baby. Bun aankomst was er geen kinderstoel meer beschikbaar en was de bedoening erg arrogant. Verder viel ins op dat de volwassenen als eerst hun eten kregen en de kinder menu's pas later dat is gewoon niet echt handig. Kort om een tegenvaller voor de na afloop gepresenteerde rekening. Voor die prijs verwacht je gewoon een top avond in alle opzichten.

Una pena de restaurante ya que el sitio es precioso y los camareros muy simpáticos pero lo que es el servicio...PESIMO! Han tardado en tomarnos nota media hora desde que hemos llegado, y para una ensalada, un plato de pasta y un salmón con risotto hemos esperado 1 h y 40 min. La comida buena pero si vienes con hambre no lo recomiendo ya que se te hace la hora de merendar.

If you are looking to spend your entire day at the restaurant then this is your place.
Terrible service, given that I have personally spent the last 5 years being a waiter it was that much more vivid.
Food is flavorless, we had the see platter for two, and it seemed like somebody just threw a bunch of ingredients together and didn't even know how to cook.
The only thing the restaurant has going for itself is the view.
Look for an alternative.

Good location, great fresh fishes as catch of the day (come early or book in advance), wine list was great, red wine could have been coolder since all of our three bottles were to warm to drink straight away. Staff was really friendly but did not communicate at all, we said yes to look at the dessert meny but then decided to have more wine and told waiter 1 that straight away. Three more waiters came within 10 minutes and asked if we'd decided on dessert yet. Also the friendliness came to a point, we're we all (6 people) thought it was just fake in the end, it lacked sincerity.

The food was good enough. We let the waiter choose a fish for us and were scammed with a €100 bill out of no where. It did not seem like the first time they had done this. The lady behind the bar simply laughed at us. It was on the whole a terrible experience.

Muito bem localizado e com uma excelente decoração. Grande vista sobre a praia, um atendimento muito profissional e conhecedor.
Bom peixe a peso e muito bem confecionado.
Preço algo alto, mas atendendo á qualidade da comida acaba-se por aceitar.
Dificilmente se come abaixo dos 25/30€.
Agora que saímos do Algarve, o melhor restaurante onde fomos.

La experiencia muy mala tardaron mucho en servirnos, el servicio muy deficiente poniendo muy poco interés en los clientes, nos levantamos sin terminar de comer porque no nos atendían cuando el local estaba medio vacío.

Went out of season, but still quite busy. Service, food and atmosphere all excellent. Helpful staff giving good advice but not pushy or intrusive, and a great help choosing a good port to finish our meal. Hope to go back.

Gutes Essen. Schöner Blick auf das Wasser. Mittelere Preisklasse. Hauswein lecker 15€. Fisch-Muschel Eintopf für 2Personen für 45€, war reichlich und gut.

After coming to this area for the last 20 years but never dining at the o pescador b4 we decided as it was out if season we would give it a try. On 1st entering we were asked if we had booked a table we said no, we were then seated in a corner at a table for 2 on iron seats. We were presented with appetisers ie bread olives carrots & plain oil that looked as if seen better days. When given the menu we ordered mushrooms to start,on the main menu they had rib eye steak priced at 22 euro, then told they also had rib eye steak as special, so decided to order that. In past experience yes specials r usual more maybe extra 5 euros at most. Imagine our shock when the bill came and our main was priced at 40 euros each......After this experience will not b going back again. My advice to anyone dinning there confirm price 1st. Whether u can afford it or not, no - one wants to feel they have been had, but that is exactly how we felt.

No Algarve há muitos restaurantes mas só 10% são mesmo excelentes com uma ementa de qualidade, uma carta de vinhos a condizer, um espaço muito atraente e um serviço sempre atencioso e profissional. Como gosto de conhecer mais um sítio para ir comer bem, visitámos o Pescador em Benagil. Excelente!! Se calhar só lá volto daqui a muito tempo pois gosto de "conhecer mais um sítio" mas voltarei nem que seja com um grupo de amigos para fazer boa figura!!!
