We didn't have a good experience at the overflow restaurant. When we got to the restaurant, because of its popularity it was full. The owner directed us to the restaurant over the road and told us that we could have the same menu as at A Gale. It was clear that others were also told to do the same. The other restaurant was too full and they couldn't cope with the demand. Service was very slow, we ended up having our bread starter with our main meal. The children's meals were nice, they had grilled chicken and chips but our meal were not great. My husband ordered sole in a cream and lemon sauce thinking it would be fresh fish. It was battered frozen fish with a thick creamy gloopy sauce- the batter was burnt. Mine was just a bad choice, I had the chicken peri peri which was on the bone and hardly had any chicken. There was no salad accompaniment just chips. When we told the wattress that the batter was burnt, she just said she would tell the chef. She apologised for the wait and seemed very nice but it was clear that they were not familiar with the a gale menu and it didn't work as an overflow restaurant. My advice, if it is full go back another night.

Großartiges essen. Höhe Qualität und (dennoch) große Portionen. Selbst der Hauswein war gut. Nur als Dank des Hauses lieber keinen Portwein nehmen.

Comida muito bem confeccionada e um atendimento muito simpática e profissional. Recomendo.

Restaurant kulinarischer Extraklasse!!! Wir waren nach dem ersten Besuch gleich noch zwei weitere Male dort und sind jedesmal Mal aufs Neue positiv überrascht worden. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die Paella (Vorsicht Vorbestellung erforderlich), Steak Portugiesischer Art, flambierte Garnelen sowie der Fisch! Das Brot wird außerdem noch sehr heiß mit hausgemachter Butter serviert, nicht so lieblos wie in den meisten anderen Restaurants. In die Saucen kann man sich ebenfalls hineinsetzen und die Portionen sind nichts für die Waage. Der Service hat sich sehr viel Zeit genommen die Speisen zu erläutern und war stets aufmerksam. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Danke a Galé!

Amazing experience. Came for dinner. Tried the mixed grilled fish which was very good however I would highlight the service. Fast, kind and very professional. Porto wine as an offer when meal finished.

Cosy restaurant , not got the views like some others restaurants in the area but the food was delicious and service excellent , very good value for money large portions too

Praia do Carvoeiro was overwhelming with cute restaurants in close proximity to the beach, but Galé was extra special! Delicious food (you must order the shrimps and save some bread to soak up the extra garlicy butter and olive oil!) and quick service, our portions were huge and made for a delicious leftover breakfast. Obrigada Galé, hope to be back soon!

The best paella in town. Restaurant isn't fancy and you could walk by it but the food is fabulous and service excellent. You must book paella 24 hours in advance and worth it. Great selection of shellfish and HUGE portion.

Ich war vor langer Zeit schon ein paar mal hier und es war damals sehr gut. Beim heutigen Besuch war allerdings nichts besonders. Die Garnelen Piri Piri (Hauptgericht) waren in einer komischen Sauce und der Fisch des anderen Hauptgerichts war trocken. Dafür war die die Vorspeise (flambierte Garnelen) sowie das Couvert vorallem die selbstgemachte Kräuterbutter sehr lecker. Die Acocado mit Garbene an Cocktailsauce war auch sehr gewöhnlich. Leider hier und heute nur drei Sterne, aber mit der Hoffnung, dass es sonst nicht so ist.

Alles sehr lecker: geschmortes Lamm (Tagesgericht), gegrillter Lachs, Gemüsecurry und die flambierten Garnelen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Very enjoyable meal, traditional Portuguese cuisine, tables inside or outside on the pavement, good selection on the menu, would recommend the prawn risotto.

Comida razoável, atendimento por parte da proprietária péssimo. Mal servidos na quantidade de tamboril no arroz do mesmo, e a dona do restaurante a discutir que tinha razão. A não voltar, as pessoas têm de saber atender os clientes.

Just been to A Galé this evening. Ordered our starters which we stated we were going to share between the four of us and our main courses. I advised the waiter that my son had a nut allergy and were they 100% sure that what we ordered was nut free. I was assured it would be fine by the waiter. My 10 year old son had a little of each starter and within seconds had a reaction. They had put pesto into the cream sauce with scallops. Luckily we were able to give him piriton immediately which he carries with him all the time along with an EpiPen. When we decided to leave because we could not eat due to the upset and no guarantee of no nuts, the owner was so difficult and insulting say if it was her son she would never take him out to eat and trying to charge us in full for the starters and main course which we did not eat. We are now back in our accommodation with my son sick from having eaten a starter that was to be nut free but very relieved that the situation wasn't much worse. Avoid at all cost....

Excellent atmosphere and very friendly staff. For starters go for the prawns. The mixed fish grill as a main was also very good. The cheesecake as dessert wasn't that specular.

Kleines Restaurant mit leckerem Essen und nettem Personal. Meistens so voll, dass man ohne Reservierung keinen Tisch mehr bekommt. Leider durch die direkte Lage an der Straße nicht so gemütlich.

Very very busy. HUGE servings of food. Watch out for the flambed prawns - delicious and plentiful but if you soak up the cooking juices with bread as we did you won't need much more to drink!

Well worth a visit. Nothing fancy. It smelled right, it was busy..service was authentic.. food was simple but lovely. We had a super evening there!

Heerlijk gegeten. Pure smaken. Als voorgerechten hebben wij diverse gerechten besteld en als hoofdgerecht hadden wij de tong en gamba’s (1x op spies en 1x de curry). Alles was heerlijk. Zeker een restaurant om meerdere keren tijdens de vakantie te gaan eten. De bediening is super attent en de keuken is vlot maar relaxt.

Very very good portuguese style place with many meat and fish dishes. Decent prices (13€ for a sirloin Steak, 13,50€ for Mixed grilled fish), nice spices (they love their Koriander, plus dill with fish), steak cooked to the ordered point, fish a tad too dry. Veggie side is a bit small, but we got a shared order of good fries for the table. The fish soup for 3,50€ is remarkably good. Overall worth at least one visit, maybe two or even three.

Familiär geführtes kleines Restaurant mit normalen Preisen für leckeres Essen. Die Küche ist einsehbar und das Team sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gibt Steaks oder Fischgerichte mit vorzüglichen Soßen.
