I love this restaurant. It is one of the first ones we ever ate in when we first came to Lagos. Now we live here we don't go as much as we should but it is still good when we go. The outside seating is great for warmer days and watching the world, the inside seating had one area with amazing Portuguese tiles and another upstairs that is very pleasant. The food is well cooked, the only disappointing dish we have had was the paella, what can I say? We aren't in Spain. However their Portuguese arroz dishes are amazing as is the grilled rabbit with garlic and the octopus in the oven.

C’est pourtant bien écrit « Bar » sur la devanture de Gilberto…Et bien il faut croire qu’à 18h00 pétantes, les soirs d’été, seule la mention « Restaurant » compte puisqu’on a été reçus comme des chiens dans un jeu de quille par le patron à qui l’on a demandé s’il était possible de prendre un verre…
J’espère que la qualité de la bouffe est inversement proportionnelle à celle de l’accueil du gérant, et puisque c’est le seul critère que je peux juger, je lui mets un zéro pointé, similaire au sourire Droopy du patron et à sa délicatesse exprimée par sa gestuelle méprisante pour exprimer son refus d'une simple agitation de l'index. Tant pis, du coup on est allés 5 mètres plus loin, juste à côté, au tout petit bar « Chave D’ouro » qui ne paye peut-être pas de mine de l’extérieur, mais où l’on peut au moins savourer une petite bière tranquillement, et à un prix modique !
Alors Gilberto, tu ne me verras pas de sitôt !

Atención buena, llegamos un poco tarde y nos atendieron bien.
Comida también bastante buena, aunque pedimos una carne (creo era escalope) y estaba demasiado pasada.
Nos sentamos en la terraza, comenzó a llover y nos pusieron una mesa dentro del restaurante sin ninguna pega.

The meal took more than an hour to arrive and we saw other customers who arrived later get served much sooner than us. When we finally had our dishes, they were subpar. The squids were fine, but served with boiled potatoes, which were very cold and had no taste at all. The mushroom omelette was half cooked and the rabbit meat didn't even taste or look like rabbit meat.

Чудовий ресторан! Швидке обслуговування, доступні ціни. Ми замовляли рибу Сібас (Robalo) на грилі, та кролика. Все подавалося з гарніром. Порції великі, дуже смачно. Все було неперевершено, дякую! Єдиний мінус - розташування біля дороги, а не в старому місті. Але в нашому випадку це був плюс, бо близько до місця паркування.

Worst restaurant ever.
As we wanted to order the waiter neglected about three meals that he either ran out of them or doesn‘t have them at all even though they were listed on the menu.
The meals we ordered were horrible. The fish was not fresh and the paella we got was an incredibly small portion. Not worth the 15€.
We observed a couple next to us. They were also complaining about what they’ve got. They even left without paying telling the waiter that it was their worst meal ever.
Afterwards the waiter came to our table complaining about the other guestst, which in my opinion is very unprofessional.
We were very disappointed as we came to lagos with the intention to eat some nice and fresh fish.

Péssima comida,o arroz de marisco ,tudo de pacote congelado.
Atendimento super rápido mas a comida é para esquecer... há certos pratos que só o aspeto dá vontade de fugir.

Good honest food. I agree that the paella’s are expensive for what they are but we have been happy with the rest of the food and my kids love the paella so we grin and bear it! Been back many times and will on the next trip!

The food has nothing special. I ordered Shrimps with rice and Garlic Calamares, it was ok. But dont make me want back to eat here again.
The price is normal for Lagos.

Unfortunately the Paella is a huge ripoff. You get a pile of rice with a couple pieces of seafood. I would not come back!

Muy buen sitio para comer, a buen precio y con calidad. Comida típica portuguesa. Probamos la francesinha y la carne de cordero. Muy recomendado.

Food- mediocre... however, when we were brought the wrong dish and then mentioned it, there was no apology, a guy came from the kitchen grabbed food from the freezer, yelling ensued from the kitchen until the time the food came out, and then silence. It was very uncomfortable and (who I presume to be) the owner and son basically avoided our eye contact after the "mix up" which made it seem as though they were angry to have to make the dish we originally ordered. Terrible experience. Don't go here.

I wish I could say this place put an effort for us to enjoy our time, but they didn't. We ordered a seafood mixta paella but upon arrival, no seafood just chicken? When I pointed out the issue the waiter seemed annoyed. No apology, no nothing. And then we proceeded to wait and watch them fetch frozen seafood from the freezer and hear a couple chefs yell for the next 10 minutes until the new dish came. Finally when it came, it was lacklustre to say the least. I hope this place goes down under because it gives Lagos a bad name for food. Don't go here as there are much better places around town.

Déçu, accueil sans sourire, riz au fruits de mer avec beaucoup de riz!! peu de fruits mer mais surtout du surimi. La blague! 25€ pour le plat c'est une honte! On est vite partis.

O pior atendimento de Portugal. Os garçons recusavam atender. Deram respostas grosseiras quando perguntamos o tempo para ser atendido. Todos fomos embora. Se não tem consideração com o freguês, o que se dirá da comida.

Décevant, décevant et décevant. Nous y sommes allés un midi avec une faim de loup.. Les plats sont très lamentables voir limite immangeable, payé une vingtaine d'euros et rien manger...très déçu de ce restaurant.

Décevant et cher pour la qualité des plats. Ma fille a mangé une lasagne qu'ils avaient oublié de servir et qu'elle a reçu 3 min après la remarque faite. Elle était à peine chaude. Longue attente avant de recevoir les plats.

Vielleicht der falsche Tag? Schmutziges Glas, schmutziges Besteck, eine Cataplana für 15Euro, die nicht mal ein Kind gesättigt hätte. Rundum nicht empfehlenswert, reiner Touristennepp, auf Einmalbesuch ausgelegt. . Sucht euch was anderes !

Pedimos pulpo y pasta. El pulpo estaba riquísimo. Los espaguetis nos sorpredieron por lo deliciosa que estaba la salsa de tomate y tenía bastantes gambas frescas. Sin duda volveríamos a repetir.

El mejor restaurante en el que comí en Lagos, la dorada exquisita y grande y el arroz con pulpo es una auténtica maravilla. La copa de vino a 1.80 eu y el personal amabilisimo. Volveré sin duda.

A minha mulher pediu arroz de polvo e estava ótimo, em conjunto com o vinho verde á pressão foi uma boa refeição. As crianças também gostaram e comeram a sopa toda! Child friendly. Simples, sem pretensão mas bom!

1er : Nous voulions une soupe pour commencer (spécialité Portugaise quand même).
Reponse: pas de soupe! Alors que présente dans la carte
2eme: Nous commandons 1 sole à la orange. Dans la carte également.
Réponse : Pas de sole.
Je prends à la place de la morue grillée et là ma surprise:
On me sert une qu'eux de morue, toute fine, avec une arrêté centrale ennnorme.
Et donc très de poisson a manger, le tout baignant dans de l'eau huile bouillante.
Il est certain que les prix ne sont prohibitifs , mais je n y reviendrais plus.
De ce fait, nous n avons pas osé prendre de dessert, de peur qu'ils soient aussi bon que le plat.
Je déconseillé cet établissement.

We had great hopes for this place. Was very picturesque. My wife had seafood soup which she said was ok. (The reason for 2 stars) I had the Portuguese steak. I have know idea what a Portuguese steak should be like but pretty sure it should be edible. The steak was like shoe leather. covered in something similar to gravy made from Bisto. To their credit they did bring me another one when I mentioned how bad it was. Unfortunately the second was just as tough. I would not recommend it for any beef dish. Perhaps the seafood are better. The service was just ok.

My girlfriend ordered the chicken skewer and part of the chicken was still raw. When we pointed this out to the waiter at the end of our meal he just raised his eyebrows and said 'oh la!' as he took the plate away but we received no apology and no money off the bill. Unfortunately we are too polite to make a scene. I also never received the second beer that I ordered.

Vendem espetada de tamboril. A questão é que não é tamboril. E foram perguntados se seria tamboril. Disseram que sim, era. Na realidade não era. Logo, não são verdadeiros nem correctos para com os clientes. A não visitar.

Cibo scarso, servizio lento
L'unico cameriere presente è simpatico e si dà da fare ma non riesce a reggere il carico. Stendiamo un velo pietoso sia sul cibo che sulla preparazione e velocità. Entrate solo se state morendo di fame.
