Just not good and do not get the potatoes there awful. My partners food came out soaking in olive oil and was not impressed.

It took 40 mins for our food to arrive and my wifes chicken was under cooked, when it was brought to the waiters attention, he took it back with no follow up. When we went to settle the bill they wanted to charge us for my wifes bill. Service and customer satisfaction is not very high on their list of priorities. Not a nice experience whatsoever.

Loved it. Fresh tasty food, I had monkfish and my wife had pork in mustard sauce. Easily better than the cliché places in the old town square and better value. Friendly and welcoming staff, would definitely recommend.

Service was good on a busy summer evening. Food is reasonable though lacks flavour. The shellfish cataplana came with a lobster each and crab claws, mussels etc. Avoid house wine. Book to get the tables looking over the beach.

The Indian Man who served us was unfriendly.I Asked him to suggest me a good seafood Dish and He bring me a dish with pork without informing me.I was mixed with seafood and etc I was unable to see.I left 5 Euro tips as a good gesture but I Never gonna Go there again.What a shame..

I'd give it 2.5 stars for the service (friendly) and the sea view (great), but the lunch menu calamari was frozen, not fresh. A bit disappointed considering the other reviews about freshness and quality.

Two adults two nine year olds and a toddler - We decided to give it a try as the view looked good and it was not busy - April 17th
We sat down ordered two bottles of water and they put bread on our table.The two kids said the menu did not suit so we decided to try another place
My wife told the staff member within minutes ( bare in mind there was only six others sitting down to eat) our decision - He kindly told her the bill would be twenty euro.
Word to the wise - Old town has really good places to eat for decent money The Beach Basket is our in opinon up its own arse when it comes to value.

Great seafood restaurant that overlooks the beach. Friendly service, staff all speak fluent English. Had some incredibly fresh seafood dishes here. There's a quiet terrace area where you can enjoy the sun and beach view. Recommended

Service assuré par Romeo qui en plus d'avoir un très bon relationnel parle français.
Je recommande a tout les amateurs de fruits de mer ou de cuisine fraîche.

Nice menu, lovely views.... However... We ordered t bone steaks. One medium and one medium rare. Both with chips and both with roquefort sauce. Chips were forgotten, sauce was forgotten and steaks were so rare they nearly walked off the plate. Was told the waiter was new. No excuse! The chef needs to check what they are cooking before they send it out. It was our last night treat before going home. Very disappointed

Salle et terrasse magnifiques avec une vue imprenable sur la plage et la falaise. Le service est impeccable et soigné. Différentes cartes permettent de faire un choix judicieux. Bonne qualité des plats, particulièrement des desserts bien présentés.

Really really bad food. Over cooked and dry. I am sure non of it was fresh. It was servede without any souce and when I asked they suggested pepper or mushroom souce hello you are serving fish here.... expensive too. If they knew how to make food the price is fine.

Just visited here with my family and the food was gorgeous. If you want something a little different from the generic "chips with everything" then this is a great place to visit. The creme brulee was to die for!!! The staff were attentive and friendly. See u again next year.

Very nice view and classy place. I had a very good steak, but my relative ordered portuguese steak well-done and got it medium- and chef "grilled" it again and beef was still medium.. He/she obviously could've grilled it at the first time, but probably didn't want, because lot of chefs think that beef gets ruined and dry if it's well-done. Anyway chef should appreciate customer's wishes and not think about his own opinion on the food.

Staff are very friendly and helpful which is why we come back every time we are in Albufeira. Rita is welcoming and full of energy. Makes it worth while coming here. It's an OK menu with something for everyone but does need a bit of updating. Recommend the sea bass. The goats cheese starter is huge and to die for. My favourite is the chicken salad, simple but tasty. If you can fit in a sweet then have the tiramisu.

The best meal and service of our holiday! We had the monkfish and prawn cataplana and were blown away. The fish was cooked to perfection with beautiful taste, it cost €16 each. The staff were attentive, helpful, smily and happy- all with a great sense of humour making tables laugh and connect with eachother. A great vibe! I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough... if you are looking for good quality food, head here!

Good food, good service. Great place if you want seafood. The view from here is also beautiful. The restaurant overlooks the Albufeira beach which makes for a great view! Only downside were the prawns I was served in my prawn cocktail, they could have been fresher.

Gelegen in der Altstadt mit Blick auf den unterhalb gelegenen Strand und Meer - sehr schön. Interessante, mehrsprachige Speisekarte mit überwiegend typisch portugiesischen Fisch- und Fleischgerichten, sowie Suppen, Salaten und etlichen Desserts. Alles wird frisch zubereitet (geringe Wartezeit), bei mehreren Besuchen hat alles wirklich sehr lecker geschmeckt und wird vom aufmerksamen und kundigen Service gut gelaunt serviert. Gerne wieder!

Pedimos entrantes para ver qué tal, nos decepciono, y nos fuimos. Pedimos una ensalada cesar, con pollo de embutido, la salsa cesar sin sabor y la lechuga un poco pasada. Unas berenjenas gratinadas sin sabor alguno. Nunca lo recomendaría.

Here I had the best pasta dishes I have ever had in my life. I ate here twice with my friends whilst on holiday in albifuera, and both the Tuffle pasta and Basil and tomato pasta dishes were delicious. 10/10 would recommend. The sea front view is also stunning.

Me and the wife came across the restaurant by chance instead of being told it was the best restaurant in all the lands we just picked it and well we picked right.
The setting was just before sunset we sat in the small courtyard out back, the service was friendly and happy the food was amazing, I ordered a pepper steak Emma's was Portugese steak, I can tell you now medium was rare/medium but with the saurce the people who dont like rare will love it it melted in my mouth.
Emma's steak was a little over cooked but the saurce was amazing and is going into her cook book.
We both recommend it as a place to visit

Ottimo cibo sempre fresco e ben cucinato, ottima accoglienza e servizio cortese, posto informale, gioviale ed accogliente. Nel complesso una discreta esperienza, porzioni un po' scarse. Prezzi buoni, ma suggerisco un'unica accortenza per non veder lievitare il conto in modo spropositato, evitate di ordinare extra oltre il piatto scelto tipo pane, dolci (porzioni per diabetici) ecc.

It was the first restaurant that we went in town, randomly spotted from the beach. We liked the lunch food. It turned out to be our host recommendation too. Service is slow like everywhere in Portugal, staff was friendly. We were a group of 8 and they accommodated us fine.

One of the worst meals I've ever had.
The meal I ordered was terrible. I ordered the fried fish. The fish was bony, dry and not fresh. It came with a side of boiled rice, contrary to what was advertised on the menu. The menu said it came with baked potatoes and veg. I did say this to the waitress who told me I was wrong. There was no sauce for the fish either. I asked for tartare, garlic mayo, anything to give this bland and dry meal a bit of flavour. They gave me sachets of mayo. Still didn't make the meal any better. I picked at it but it really was one of the worst meals I've ever had. My husband had the steak and that was only adequate. I observed what other customers were eating and it didn't look great either. I did see some really positive reviews on Google about the beach basket so perhaps a new chef or management took over. I am not a miserable killjoy either. I rarely leave a negative reviews but unfortunately I have to today. Take my advice and eat somewhere else in the old town.

Food was good and the price was alright. Ordered a Pepper stake for 20€, which maybe is on the expensive side, but not a biggy. Also ordered 1/2 litre Sangria but got the full litre. Got the promise that if we only drink half of it, we'd only pay half of it. Well, they know that no one can resist drinking all of it. Sneaky. Fun staff tho.

Vista oceano fantastica, personale gentilissimo, simpatico e professionale. Noi abbiamo ordinato la famosa cataplana, con calamari e gamberi, ed era squisita, anche se a mio gusto mancava un pizzico di sale. Il cameriere, che tra l'altro parlava italiano, comunque ci aveva consigliato quella con la rana pescatrice perché a suo dire, era più saporita. Prezzi giusti. Consiglio.

Déjà venu il y à presque 3 ans, toujours aussi bon accueil en Français, ou allemand, anglais, espagnol...
Petite terrasse donnant sur l'océan, bien protégé du soleil avec un store adapté.
Cuisine fraîche et copieuse pour un montant des plus raisonnables.
Petite difficulté, trouvé l'endroit, en dehors des tas de boui-bouis de touristes anglophones !
Si vous passez par Albufeira, c'est une adresse à visiter.

I booked this beautiful place after seeing on line and getting recommendations from a few friends.
Well where do I start...
This has got to be one of the nicest meals we have ever eaten.
I booked for my husband's birthday and we were placed on the outside patio - all 8 of us
The view was something to die for overlooking the beautiful beach in albufeira.
We were greeted by a lovely chap who wished my hubby a happy birthday and shook his hand.
The table was dressed immaculately with beautiful decoration.
The staff helped source me a beautiful chocolate cake and the fizz we ordered was waiting for us in a huge ice cooler.
We were initially served by Rita who had a fantastic personality and was so knowledgeable about the dishes.
She is like a walking brain box and didnt need to write our orders down.
The food was absolutely delicious and the seafood was some of the best we have eaten.
The staff were so attentive and made is feel so special.
We had wine poured throughout the meal which was a lovely touch.
Rita finished her shift and Romeo took over.
He too was so attentive.
From the food, to the staff to hospitality we are completely in awe.
What a beautiful place.
Thanks to each and everyone for making it the most memorable meal for a very special celebration.

Food wasn't ridiculous but I had fish and chips and this was very watery and salty. they catch you outside and try to get you in suggesting the food is very very good. Customer service's was terrible and not once was we asked if everything was okay even though they weren't very busy. This is just about getting custom.
You have been warned if you do not bad experience do not approach.

Lovely food and very friendly staff. Was let down by the fact that the food took over an hour to come out from the kitchen. If the food had been a bit swifter probably would have put five stars. Will definitely be returning for another meal here during my stay in Albuferia.

Restaurant zit op een goede locatie en ziet er prima uit!, echter is het personeel erg opdringerig(kaart nog niet eens open of ze vragen al wat je wil hebben), ook lopen ze constant je glas in de gaten te houden.ik had een steak, die was prima maar niet bijzonder, pasta carbonara was net soep, heel waterig en zuur! Prijzen zijn ook hoger dan gemiddeld in Albufeira. Geen aanrader!!

Review of the the Beach Basket Restaurant in Albufeira
Dining Date: February 15, 2018
This has been one of the best dining experiences of hundreds that we have enjoyed over our years, both at home in Canada and travelling extensively.
From the greeter, Susanna, through our waitstaff Rita and Romeo, and including the chef Antonio, who welcomed us into his kitchen at the end, all staff were genuinely gracious, attentive and very informative. In particular, Rita demonstrated her love and knowledge of Portuguese food, wine and culture.
We sat in the entry bar area for a few minutes while we awaited a window front table overlooking the beach and ocean. Rita gave us a detailed and informative overview of their many traditional meals. Our mouths were watering before we even sat down.
Once at the table Rita helped us finalize our food decisions and recommended wonderful wine pairings. Our meals included: caesar salad, seafood cataplana and sea bass. All were wonderfully presented and superbly fresh and flavorful. The desserts of tiramisu, profiteroles, peach compote, and cheese board, together with the promised port and coffees were also delightful.
We were then invited into the kitchen to meet and were able to thank directly the chef, Antonio. This experience capped off a tremendous evening and was a wonderful way for us to say bon voyage to our two friends who were flying back to Canada the next day. These friends truly envy us, knowing that we will be dining again at the Beach Basket before we too will sadly have to leave.

The monkfish medallions were incredible. The fish was moist and tender, just perfect. The tiramisu didn't look amazing, but tasted pretty good. The service however was terribly slow from the beginning to the end. This was true for our table and every other table around, and some customers complained loudly. There were three waiters for a medium sized restaurant which doesn't seem lacking but for some reason we had to wait forever for the menu, then for the drink, then for someone to take the order, then for the food, even went up to the bar to pay quick and got stuck there too! Again, food is great, but we wouldn't come back because of how extremely long everything took.

Ameisen auf dem Boden und auf der Fensterbank, Krabbencocktail mit 3 Garnelen, der ausgewählte Wein war nicht verfügbar, Nachfrage ob es geschmeckt hat Fehlanzeige. Kellner kennen Gerichte nicht. Naja, der Ausblick ist top. Hat man aber auch in den 20 Restaurants drum herum. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Good food but the service could have been faster! When asked what's in a salmon salad, got a reply that there's salmon and salad- I found it pretty funny! We were informed that there is corn in a vegetable gratin but there wasn't! I understand English is not their first language but they should know the names of the ingredients in English considering the number of English speaking tourists visiting their city!

Run away!! Tourist trap! Go aroung the corner for nice food and atmosphere. Terrible serving and rude staff. Takes long to get your food. When you're inside you get your drink and then you have to wait long! Long for getting your food. Portions are realy small, it's not enough for a normal eater. I said and the waitress said it always takes at least an hour here to get your main dish. "Because it is so special food" yeah right. I asked if the fish is fresh and her answer was that it's fresh from the supermarket. So you know. Starters get more quick to you so then you don't have to wait so long... Don't go here is my advise.
Ga hier niet heen. Je wordt enorm afgezet. Het eten is qua prijs kwaliteit zeer slecht vergeleken met de rest van albufeira / portugal. Je moet minimaal 1 uur op je bestelling wachten. Drankjes krijg je snel en dan is het wachten... " je bent binnengehaald". Toen ik vroeg waar mijn eten bleef gaf de ober aan dat het minimaal 50 minuten duurt in dit restaurant. De kok is nog niet zo ervaren geven ze als excuus. Toen ik vroeg of alle vis hier vers is kreeg ik als antwoord dat het wel uit de supermarkt komt maar dat dit toch erg vers is. Dat vind ik niet vers te noemen.. De porties zijn ook erg klein. Vooral veel friet erbij, niet voldoende voor een normale eter. Ik raad dit restaurant niet aan. Er zijn vlakbij veel leukere / goedkopere / betere restaurantjes te vinden.

If you are lucky!! you can get nice table with cool view thats ALL!staff polite-ok!but food its overpriced! Nothing special -in the next corner you can get the same or better for half price! crowded and its typical restaurant for tourist who wants something fast in nice plate with good view! Restaurante con vistas a la playa, buen ambiente, comida rica. Pensamos que seria peor de lo que fue. La sardinas muy ricas.

Appearance is deceiving. Wonderful food. There were 3 of us. we had grilled squid, cod fish with olive oil and grilled steak. All cooked to perfection. Very good service and very helpful, polite staff. Will definitely be back.

Food was good, but over priced for what we got compared to other restaurants in the area. The view from the restaurant is excellent, so worth booking a table for that.

Very cozy place with friendly staff. The prices are nothing special though. I paid 16 euro for the larger dish on the right plus bread, which was 50 cent and 14 for the plate of fish on the left. the fish plate came with the rice you see...

Very good restaurant. Had melon and smoked ham to start very good. Wife had goats cheese also good. For mains I had squid which was plentiful and exquisitely flavoured wife had monkfish which was very good. Price point was also good. Well worth the visit.

Goede kaart, prima eten. Rita bedient je en is enorm aardig en behulpzaam. Prachtig uitzicht over de oceaan als bonus. Vast adres voor ons in Albufeira.
