This is not just a restaurant... this is an experience! The menu is impressively-varied, with vegeterian options available, the food is tasty and the sangria very refreshing. We were there on a Friday evening and the atmosphere was buzzing. But what stands out above all is the incredible service. These guys make you feel like they're welcoming family home. Thoroughly recommended

Good Mexican food restaurant. Typical Mexican dishes, with a lot of variety. Dishes have flavor and there are some spicy ones. They also have typical Mexican drinks such as Margarita, Corona beer and tequilla. Sometimes there is a guy playing guitar and singing Mexican songs. The price is a bit high but not crazy expensive.

We dined at this place twice in the span of 3 days ....and we came back primarily due to the quality and taste of the food and the exemplary service received. Firstly, go for the 2euro Nachos....purely to raste the salsa and the cactus salad. They are brilliant!!
The food is very tasty and high quality. We were served by Fabio ..who is very friendly and great at recommending dishes to try.
You should definitely visit for a great Mexican food experience

Very tasty food, vegetarian and gluten free options available. Fun place too, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. It’s good for groups as well. We loved it! Margaritas are so good!

We had Tacos and margaritas and both were good (specially for Faro). Waiter was friendly and the food took bit long but it was peak dinner time around 9pm and the resto was busy so not a big deal. If you are in the mood for Mexican definitely worth a try.

Gostei imenso da experiência. Foi o espaço onde tive pela primeira vez contacto com comida mexicana!
O espaço está muito diferente de um restaurante típico normal, está bastante caracterizado o que se torna muito engraçado!
O menu está bastante adequado uma vez que descrimina todos os ingredientes de cada prato, ou seja, mesmo que não entendamos o nome dos pratos, é possível saber a sua constituição e facilita imenso no momento da escolha.
O staff é altamente simpático!
Os preços não são muito baixos, mas creio que pela experiência vale a pena (há pratos mais baratos que outros claro!)

This mexican restaurant has a nice vibe and its decorated with all kind of mexican elements. From sombreros to guitars, that you can even play on it if you asks them, and all kind of messages or signatures on the wall. Very nice.
The place is pretty small, so don't expect to go there with big groups. I often bumped into others when walking to the toilet or went outside for fresh air.
The service can be seen as good and bad. The bad thing is that they take quite some time to bring you some drinks, even for a glass of juice that came from the bottle. But the good thing is that they are friendly and helpful.
The food they serve are well decorated, although the taste is decent. They add up enough sides on your dish so its worth the money.
I wouldn't really go there again especially for their food, since its really decent, but more for a place to chill for a while.

Experiencia genial con música en directo. Chupitos de buen tequila al terminar la cena y margaritas muy ricos durante la misma. El mejor mexicano que he probado hasta ahora. Agradezco en especial a Pedro, uno de los camareros, porque el trato recibido contribuyó en gran medida al ambiente que disfrutamos.

It's OK here. The service was really slow, it took forever to even get our menus, and then the food was just alright. You would probably be better off eating somewhere else.
On the plus side, the guys working were very friendly and gave us tequila shots on the house.

Good things first. Open on a Sunday. Staff is friendly. Beer is 1.50. Waited a very long time for meals. Perhaps a theme in Faro. We have found places that manage in a reasonable time.
At some point I was not sure if the first set of the us open will finish before my vegetable Chili arrived. Yes there are too big TV sets to pass the time. Chili was first but still took 45 to 50 minutes.
And it was hot only in spice not temperature. I was hungry. The rice was hot. Felt like a 2 star experience but I don’t want to be too harsh. Will I recommend it to a friend? No.

Hi....
We just wanted a different meal...and we both like Mexican....so we tried it.
We arrived about 8.30 and it was half full....before long it was full to bursting.....tables outside even.
We had beers only during the visit.
We decided on nachos to share and they were very very good....
We both had chicken fajitas....and although they were nice...just not enough peppers and spice.
The man who served us gave us a shot of tequila and educated us in its history and taste etc .....was not what I expected....it was so good as a shot.....
Please give it a try here....the staff are so good
...we are just running out of days...we would go back..
My wife said 4.5 stars....and I have to agree...just for the atmosphere and WALLS covered in previous visits.

Went there last evening for dinner.
Good food , casual setting and the sangria was top notch. Complimentary shots at the end were a nice touch.
The food took ages, there were only two tables occupied at the time, which was a drawback to an otherwise, nice meal.

Live portugese music was gorgeous. Decor very cool- traditional feel, very cozy and cool. Staff very friendly. Complementry tequila at the end and great margaritas! We are both veggie and our meals were very good- would've liked more of a kick though... tjat's why it's not a 5 star. X

Food was delicious and a location we would go back to again! The servicing staff was entertaining and extremely helpful. Made great recommendations for what to eat. Was extremely busy, so get there early or be prepared to get turned away. Menu is available in English. Accepted credit cards, but unable to leave tip without Euro.

Had the vegetarian taco mix and it was awesome! Lots of flavour and good portion size. Had a mojito as well and it was just as good! There was some live music too which was cool. Great service and food came out fast. Would highly recommend this cute little restaurant.

Absolut empfehlenswert. Extrem nettes, herzliches Personal, das uns sehr hilfsbereit zur Seite stand. Die Einrichtung ist einzigartig uns authentisch. Die lateinamerikanische Musik, war ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Das Essen war köstlich. Man hat eine riesen Auswahl an Gerichten. Das Essen war sehr frisch und war ein Gaumenschmaus. Wer länger in Faro ist, sollte vorbeischauen!

Si on pouvait, on mettrait 7 étoiles mon conjoint et moi... nous avons vraiment mangé comme des rois ce soir, et pour un prix presque dérisoire au vu de la qualité du repas. Le ceviche de saumon est un pur délice, le chili de bœuf délicieux, les frites de patates douces aussi... les portions généreuses, l'accueil chaleureux... sans parler de la Margarita, 10 euros le pichet, juste génial.
João nous a offert un shot d'excellente tequila pour clore le repas. Mille mercis Taco y tequila, vous êtes vraiment au top !!!

Simplesmente único. Faz-nos sentir em pleno México. Tequila 5 estrelas e toda a oferta do menu é realmente preparado como verdadeiros mexicanos. Tem um excelente picante. Viajamos un poco a la aventura hasta faro para buscar este restaurante.
Jhoan o Juan nos atendió y muy amablemente y nos explicó la carta sin gluten de una forma muy correcta.
Aunque la comida tardó un rato, imagino que debido que se tuvo que hacer la comida sin la contaminación del gluten, fue todo un acierto lo que pedimos.
Los nachos abundantes y con un gran sabor y sobre todo los tacos con un sabor y jugosidad que no me esperaba.
Todo un acierto, tanto en calidad como en precio.
Espectacular.

Me and my partner had an amazing meal at this restaurant! The service is exceptional and the food is really delicious, as well as the sangria and tequila. Great value too. Highly recommended!!! It's in a great spot as well, a quiet road by the church away from the touristy area.

Great service, server was extremely attentive. They serve Greek yogurt labeled as sour cream and you pay and extra fee for almost everything in addition to the bare meat. Margaritas are good!

We were the first people in and we received fairly fast service. The waiter knew Spanish and English which was nice. The tomato soup and jalapeño poppers were quite good. My wife had tacos and I had fajitas. We both considered the mains to be average at best. The decor was fun, we spent a lot of time looking for the oldest scribbles on the wall.
We give it 4 stars because we could see ourselves returning at some point in the future.

Espaço decorado de acordo com o normal nos restaurantes mexicanos, musica ao vivo alguns momentos da semana, empregados muito simpáticos. As Margaritas de Maracujá são as melhores que bebi ate hoje, os nachos estão dentro do esperado, a Fajita grelhada de frango não estava nada de mais. Voltaria pelo ambiente, simpatia e pelas margaritas, não pelo prato em específico. Esperava mais do prato principal.

Nous avons été légèrement déçu de ce restaurant après s'être fié aux avis précédents.. la nourriture était bonne, mais pas exceptionnelle. C'est vraiment au niveau du service que nous avons été le plus déçu; service très lent (nous avons attendu plus de 1h et le restaurant n'était pas plein) et nous avons dû demander à plusieurs reprises pour la même chose...

Me and my family came here for a celebration meal, after reading good reviews of the restaurant (110 4/5 star reviews ) we thought we would give it a go. Service was very slow and found us prompting staff even for a menu. After having a starter we waited 50 minutes for our main. I was told that the dish I ordered was very spicy and they made sure I wanted this dish. I received the dish and it had absolutely no spice in it at All. My family ordered fajitas and also they had absolutely no spice in. I can honestly say this was the worst Mexican food I have ever had - don't be fooled by the reviews, don't waste your money there are plenty of other good restaurants around!

As an American who's been living in Europe for a year, my wife and I were yearning for some good Mexican food. Tacos y Tequilla did not disappoint. We had the battered cheese-stuffed chilles (cheddar peppers for you Americans), and they were on point, fantastic. The salsa and nacho chips were also fantastic. Loved the pico as well. My wife had the chicken tacos and I had fajitas. They were great. The fajitas were not quite the same as they are in the states (with a sizzling plate of beef), but they were fantastic nonetheless. The staff were friendly and there was also live music. Overall, this was a really great experience. Strongly recommend.

The best Mexican restaurant ever!!
The cocktails and food were amazing!!
The service was a little slow and the ambience a little too loud but the enthusiasm of the owner, great live music and of course the yummy food made up for it!! We had the fiery tomato soup and the spicy chicken tacos they were flavourful and tasty. We left the restaurant feeling full and happy.

Generally nice food, but waiting time is a killer. We were waiting for about 40-50 minutes for mains to arrive after 20 mins wait for starters. The waiter didn't even apologise for the wait.

Taco y Tequilla is a nice little Mexican restaurant in a central location in Faro. Having gone there on a Saturday at peak time it was packed. Wait times were very much on the high end, even just to get a menu, but given the time somewhat understandable.
The food was average to good and prices were on par with other establishments.
Frozen margaritas were nice and strong.
The evening was soured somewhat when dealing with the bill. Total came to around €33, I placed two €20 notes and change totalling around €43 and asked for €5 in change.
The waiter never returned with change, even though I gestured with 5 fingers and asked for the change. Doubt it was a translation error as he had easily conversed in English earlier.
Really annoying way to end the night, we left without raising the issue.
