This place was sensational. Great service, fab recommendations and absolutely delicious food. Great wine selection, sangria and the tapas was a diverse range of the Portuguese flavours you’re keen to explore.

Un super restaurant, bon, original, service au top! Comme à la maison, on se croirait vraiment chez une grand-mère portugaise !
La cuisine ouverte sur la (petite) salle permet de voir travailler le cuisinier. Les conseils du serveur sont parfaits. Une ambiance cosy et familiale pas toujours facile à trouver dans cette région si touristique !
Et c'est délicieux, vraiment.

A home away from home! The food is full of flavour, all locally sourced with every dish complimenting one another, the wine matched perfectly with your meal and the Port chosen carefully, all in a wonderful atmosphere. Not many tables so don't miss out on this gem!

Hemos estado en la puerta y ni siquiera se ha dignado mirarnos. Eran las 9.30 y tenía cerrada la puerta y ni ha abierto, ni nos ha dicho nada. Muy desagradable. Hemos ido a “a do pinto” y además de buenísimo todo, encantadores. Una diferencia abismal. No se asomen!!!!

Seriously one of my top 3 restaurants so far. The duck was as tasteful, tender and delicious as it looks on the pictures and even better. The Camembert had the perfect consistency perfectly suited with the walnuts topped with sweetness. The shrimps perfectly prepared and so on .. even gave us a great recommendation for the next day having typical portuguese food bowls, another thanks to that! Great piece of art you guys doing :) go Vikings!

I visited this restaurant with a friend more than a year ago and I will start by saying that this place was probably my most memorable meal I have had yet. The owner/chef spoke with us all throughout preparing our food in the kitchen. He speaks English fluently and there was no issue communicating. The restaurant interior has a home-like vibe with intimate seating and ambiance. Everything on the menu was local including the wine. The chef told us he takes the time to choose wines that pair well with the changing menu while staying close to the region. I will add that his sangria was the best I ever had. You will not regret stopping here for a meal or two.

Overpriced and snobbish place. It distorts the idea of petiscos to make it into lucrative 'foodie-experience' aimed at tourists. Food good. But it's nearly impossible to get bad food in Algarve. Location nice.

Cash only but there's an ATM about 10 meters away. We ordered everything on the menu and everything was genuinely delicious (especially the prawns, the duck and the pork cheeks), the wine was beautiful and the staff warm, welcoming and sharing excellent advice, I'd come back in a heartbeat. Good meal and a place without a tv or music which for me is an added bonus. Liked the pork cheeks most. Seats could be more comfortable but frankly that is true for many restaurants in faro.

Personale gentile e sorridente sempre, il cibo davvero molto buono e l'arredamento, soprattutto dell'interno, molto particolare.
Lo consiglio davvero.
Non do 5 stelle solo perché, quando i tavoli sono tutti pieni, lo staff è probabilmente sottostaffato, e il servizio ne risente leggermente.

Vid första anblick får man en väldigt bra känsla av det här stället, en liten, välkomponerad meny och en trevlig servitör. Tyvärr slutar upplevelsen där, som tapas-ställe förväntar jag mig att maten anländer till bordet samtidigt men här kommer en rätt i taget, med ganska lång väntetid mellan rätterna vilket ger en känsla av en dålig 4 rätters middag. Själva rätterna var välsmakande men alldeles för små för att tillfredsställa mina förväntningar.
Ägaren var på plats och verkade bry sig om gästerna men tyvärr är det inte nog för att ge ett högre betyg.

Nettes Personal, sehr gastfreundlich und zuvorkommend, wir wurden in fließendem Englisch bestens beraten. Exquisite Weine und frisch zubereitete Tapas (man sollte sich Zeit nehmen, es zahlt sich aus! [Fastfood für Gestresste gibt es ein paar Ecken weiter...]), frisch gepresste Fruchtsäfte, sehr zu empfehlen, wir kamen um 19h30, da war noch alles leer, später sollte man wohl reservieren.

We booked a table earlier in the evening after reading many reviews on restaurants....for months we anticipated...we couldn't wait to go here.
We arrived a bit early and our table was ready. It was very busy....many folk wanting tables....we regard that as a great sign of a v good restaurant.
We were seated and we had a beer first off.
We order goats cheese with honey and walnuts...
Sauted mushrooms.
Stuffed mushrooms.
Prawns with garlic and lime.
And flaming chorizo.
They fetched them periodically which gave us a rest inbetween.
We loved each dish.....my wife adored the prawns with garlic....pure Mediterranean fare but with homemade butter and rustic bread it got a 11/10. :-)
We would have stayed for longer as we wanted to try the wine.but it was too warm inside for my wife....(this was more due to age than the restaurant... )

Awesome tapas, one of the best in Faro. The service and staff were very nice, we felt very welcome! And their music playlist made my day: classic rock (The Cure, Depeche Mode, Sting etc) which everybody can relate to. Loved the place!

La comida muy bien. Muy variada. De tapeo. Buena calidad precio. Servicio bueno. Las pegas son dos el servicio es muy lento y no tienen tarjeta de crédito para pagar. 45€ nos salió una suma aceptable para pagar con tarjeta. Tuve que ir al banco a sacar dinero, dos detalles que deslucen la puntuación.

El sitio es muy muy original, tiene detalles graciosos como que el pan te los sirve en una freidora pequeña o que los "manteles" son hojas de cuaderno. La comida es expectacular. La única pega es que tardan un poco pero tiene su explicación

The food was made with love and passion. We asked him to cook as what he wants and pair a wine with it.
From the flaming chorizo to the prawns,
from the potatoes to the baked camembert...everything was perfectly executed.
We felt like in a friends house with their simple but on spot service.
Also the desert was amazing with the option to do it decaff.

My girlfriend and I went here for dinner and had the best salmon and prawns I've ever had in my life. With the risk of being greatly disappointed we went back the night after only to confirm that the food in fact was amazing. On top of that the staff was super nice and welcoming. If you have a night in faro go here to eat, if you have two, go here twice!

Agréable surprise à ce petit bistro/restaurant.
Nous avons été bien accueilli et la nourriture (menu minimaliste mais exquis et varié sous forme de tapas) était excellente. Les goûts sont spéciaux et les ingrédients choisis sont frais. Les agencements sont aussi très originaux. Nous avons aimé notre expérience et avons pu mangé à l’extérieur.
Service un peu lent (explique peut-être par le fait que nous sommes arrivés vers 22:00 pour souper alors que le restaurant fermait à 23:30). Belle expérience je recommande ! 4 étoiles en raison du service mais un 5 étoiles pour la bouffe !

We had an amazing experience here. The food was delicious, and the overall experience and conversation with the owners makes this a must visit spot. They show true passion for food and life in this local dining experience.
Some of our favourite items were the flaming chorizo, homemade butter, and the garlic butter prawns.

Incredibly friendly owners and very cosy atmosphere. Food was amazing and more refined than what you get in many other places of the same price range. My girlfriend really liked her (white) wine and my orange juice was freshly squeezed. The dishes of the other tables looked and smelled very tasty as well so all in all I can absolutely recommend this place.

Le type qui vous accueille est un filou qui sait faire monter l'addition : beurre,olives, pain etc... MAIS la Cheffe excelle derrière ses fourneaux. Elle vous cococte les meilleurs petiscos de Faro sans aucun doute. Elle manie les herbes fraiches et les graines d'épice avec beaucoup de talent. Bravo madame la cheffe.

Een absolute aanrader. Heerlijk gegeten, ook vegetarisch en glutenvrij waren er veel lekkere opties. Elk gerecht was goed bereid en had een heerlijke smaak. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en de sfeer.

Really enjoyed our evening. Very genuine, honest and great food! Service was very friendly and helpful. The recommended wine Solo (from Dão region) was very fitting and delicious. Just pick anything and you won't go wrong. Definitely would recommend to any foody looking for dinner in Faro.

Amazing! The staff are so nice and food was delicious. It’s a slow eating restaurant, so expect to stay for a couple of hours and the food will come when it’s ready. The experience was wonderful! And great price too.

The food is good no doubts about that, but the wait is so long . We ordered 3 tapas, it took about 45 minutes to get the first one and 15 to 20 minutes in between each other tapas.

Super cena! Abbiamo mangiato 4 “tapas” (virgolettato perchè sono abbondanti): calamari (top!), patate dolci con salsa aioli super balanced, l’anatra che si scioglieva in bocca e i funghi buonissimi.
Il proprietario ci ha consigliato anche sul vino, ospitale e professionale.
Prezzi super in linea con il portogallo, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo!
Ho già detto super? :)

Food is ok, but nothing special. The restaurant is not a place for a single person. They don’t accept card payments and tell me that I couldn’t stay outside because I was just a person and outside there was live music and they expected more people. When I arrived there, every table, outside and inside, were free. There was nobody in the restaurant. They told me that the tables outside were reserved at 8.30pm but I arrived at 8.30pm and went away near 10pm and still were available tables outside...

First night in Faro and we were lucky to start our holiday by having dinner in this fantastic restaurant. The food is superb and the ingredients of the highest quality. Most of all the service is outstanding and the atmosphere outside is magical. We will be back before we leave!

Super friendly service and great chef. We were lucky to make it there on a less busy day today and whilst everything was served quickly and was super tasty I understand some reviewers that were worried about long waiting time. This place is petite and unique in a way as they cook their stuff in a very small kitchen. Def a great place to eat in Faro.

Overall not a great experience. The terrace is very lovely and has a true holiday atmosphere but the service is soooooo long. It took 20 minutes for the waiter to bring us our glass of wine...we don't mind waiting for food but it's always better to have a drink while we're waiting. We arrived at 8:50 pm and got our first tapas plate at 10pm. We only ordered 4 tapas plates but we still finished to eat at 11pm. The food is good, but nothing extraordinary, you understand the wait when you have a look at the open kitchen...such a mess!
Even though the service was long, they charged us for tap water (€2/bottle) and the bread...our worst experience in the Algarve.

Si vous aimez les expériences originales vous devez absolument venir manger au 31Bistro Vinho. Coup de cœur assuré pour ce lieu atypique et original tenu par un couple sympathique et accueillant. On y mange des produits locaux préparés avec un immense talent et présentés en petits plats à partager à plusieurs. On se sent comme à la maison et on prend plaisir à discuter avec les autres clients. Une sélection de vins portugais atypiques et savoureux complète le tableau. Pensez à réserver car la salle est petite.

This restaurant was recommended by a good friend and we were so impressed with the total experience. Fabio and his wife Silvia were welcoming and engaging. Our group consisted of me, my sister and my 85 year old Mother. We had the garlic shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, mackerel, pork cheeks and salmon. Wine was divine and suggested by Fabio. We then shared a delicious refreshing dessert that left us so full and happy! The ambiance is lovely, relaxed and casual. Bathrooms awesome - thank you Silvia! Definitely a place to visit when in Faro. We will be back!

A lovely little family run place where everything is homemade, even the butter (which is delicious!)
We were hosted by Fabio who is incredibly warm and friendly, and despite a stove-related mishap, the food was served fresh and delicious.
31 is a bit more real than a lot in this area, has a very rustic feel and a fabulous selection of Portuguese wine and local beer.

The food is good and the waiter and chef are lovely and welcoming people who also own the restaurant. It was just the two of them to serve 10 tables on an August Monday evening and it was painfully slow to get our drinks and food. I liked the waiter's honest opinion about us having ordered enough food and the wine was lovely, but the experience was let down with the long wait.

Very simple, very neat and very comfortable. 31 Bisto is a lovely dining room where you can really feel at home. The staff is incredibly friendly and love to keep it simple. The food is cooked with lots of love and tastes outstandingly good.
I forgot my sunglasses there and when I went to pick it up the next day, I ended up having a long conversation with the owner. He is a very free-spirited man who loves what he does. It was very inspiring to see him living his dream.

Food was awesome and they were great hosts. You can't go wrong with any of the food, and the menu changes often.

Local familiar, comida saborosa e servida pelos próprios cozinheiros, que são muito afáveis. Está em plena baixa de Faro, mas num ponto mais recolhido e sossegado. Tem uma esplanada agradável.

Aussergewöhnlich gutes Essen und geniale Betreiber. Für Leute geeignet die gutes Essen, guten Wein und einen liebevollen Service schätzen. Wir haben 5 verschiedene "snacks" probiert und fanden alle fantastisch.

So ein wunderbares Essen live zubereitet und mit so viel Liebe, habe ich in einem Restaurant noch nie erlebt. Danke Fabio und Silvia für die wunderschönen Stunden. Dieses Restaurant ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp für Liebhaberinnen und Liebhaber der exzellenten Küche.

Friendly staff who made great recommendation for dinner. Honey walnut goat cheese a must. Flaming sausage also an interesting sight to see. Lovely location under the trees. Recommend as a perfect place to have dinner.
