Fui lá a semana passada pela primeira vez, aflito da minha cervical e ombros. Fui com receio, pois estava cheio de dores e o simples facto de saber q me iriam manipular estava a ser suficiente para me deixar nervoso e ainda com mais contracturas musculares. Primeiro fui visto e "amassado" pela Dra., e em seguida pelo Dr. que continuou com uma massagem de relaxamento. No fim, em conversa comigo, admitiu não estar contente com o resultado pois não tinha sido possível alinhar a coluna... A verdade é que saí de lá relaxadíssimo, empenado, dorido até, mas com a certeza de que estaria melhor em breve! Hj, 4 dias dps, continuo com dores no ombro direito mas o que me manteve acordado á noite durante 1 semana(pescoço), melhorou muito! Estou muito contente por ter dado uma hipótese a este tratamento feito nesta clínica e espero poder lá voltar com a maior brevidade possível a ver se desta fico bom! Catarina and José are very professional and attentive therapists. José is thoroughly knowledgeable about the different Chinese medical modalities, and Catarina is a very sweet receptionist. Their treatment of my knees and feet have been very effective. José is also a great massage therapist.

I had a chronic pain in my shoulder for the past few years and although a few specialists helped reduced the constant pain, none were able to remove it entirely. For the first time, Jose Fontes understood the origin of the pain and with a combinaison of osteopathic and acupuncture work managed to liberate me from the pain in 4 sessions. The team was quite generous of their time and stayed an extra hour after closing hour to finish a session and accommodate my schedule. I’m truly grateful for the professional services of Dr. Fontes and more so for his human and passion for helping others feel better. I highly recommend this clinic for those who are open to alternative médecine.

What an amazing difference after treatment. Honestly after surgery 2 years ago on my ankle and foot I still was not able to walk normally or go up stairs in a normal fashion. After the first treatment I was able to go up the stairs much easier and after 4 treatments I was going up and down stairs like normal. Recently made a trip to Lisbon and would never have been able to enjoy that if I had not received the treatments on my ankle.

We arrived in Porto a year ago as two road-weary travellers: six months on the road, five countries, one heavy suitcase apiece & backpacks; survivors of an odd assortment of beds in over 20 airbnbs. What didn’t already ache, was about to. I had researched before we arrived and booked appointments online at Clinica José Fontes. Truly the best decision ever! My husband and I have been receiving treatments now at the clinic for over a year, as needed. Between the two of us, José has helped us with jet lag, neck, back and shoulder pain, plantar fasciitis, digestive issues, TMJ and headaches - with excellent results! His technique incorporates therapeutic massage which is an integral part of his treatments’ success. The breadth and depth of José’s knowledge of Chinese medicine and acupuncture is most impressive. And the kindness and care of José and his clinical team goes above and beyond the usual medical care experience. Their office, staffed by Catarina and Sarah, is warm and welcoming and their treatment rooms are modern and beautifully maintained. We also appreciate that they speak English and are helping us learn Portuguese! We are both active senior citizens who are in good health and have a strong sense of well-being thanks to the outstanding care we receive at Clinica José Fontes. They treat people of all ages and we've introduced a number of friends to their care who are as pleased with it as we are.

Very professional combining the modalities of osteopathy, acupuncture, massage and Chinese traditional medicine. As a tourist to Porto it was a relief to find this clinic to sort out my sciatica.
