THE best walking tour in Portugal or Spain. Our guide Miguel was incredibly knowledgable about not only Braga, but religious, architectural, and Portuguese history in general. He has a genuine enthusiasm for sharing Braga with guests and makes the tour a fun and enjoyable experience. Highly highly recommend!

I went on a free walking tour with Inês today and it was incredible! Inês was extremely knowledgable, highlighting and explaining information and details about Braga which I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I definitely recommend going on this tour if you’re in Braga as you’ll learn so much in the two hours you spend on the tour. I strongly suggest going on the morning tour as you’ll be able to get some great lunch recommendations for after the tour! Obrigado!

Nuestro tour con Paolo: En una calurosa mañana de septiembre, llegamos cuatro amigas esperando pasar una mañana en Braga. Al pasar por la Puerta Nueva, vimos el cartel de Minho Free Walking Tours. Como ya habíamos hecho este tipo de tours en otras ciudades satisfactoriamente, decidimos probar con el de Braga. A las 15.00 Paolo nos esperaba con una sonrisa. Nos sorprendió que decidiese realizar el tour a pesar de que solo éramos cuatro. Sin embargo, esta situación no duró mucho ya que, debido al poder embaucador de sus explicaciones, empezó a unirse gente antes de pasar cinco minutos. Paolo nos enseñó rincones y nos contó historias que de no ser por él nunca habríamos conocido. No os vamos a hacer spoilers para que os sorprenda como lo hizo con nosotras. En resumen, Paolo ha hecho que nos enamoremos de Braga de tal forma que, a pesar de la idea inicial de pasar solo unas horas, estamos volviendo a Oporto a las 11 de la noche. No os asustéis, el tour duró 2h y media que se pasan volando. Por todo ello, podemos decir que es uno de los mejores tours que hemos hecho y la mejor forma de conocer Braga. Obrigado.

Jestem zachwycony wycieczkami zorganizowanymi przez Minho Free Walking Tour. Mój przewodnik Miguel oprowadził mnie po centrum Bragi oraz po sanktuarium Bom Jesus. Obie wycieczki były bardzo ciekawe i inspirujące. Przewodnik posługiwał się doskonałym angielskim i hiszpańskim. Znał dużo ciekawostek odnośnie pokazywanych miejsc i wykazał się dużą wiedzą z zakresu historii oraz architektury. Bardzo polecam.

Friendly and informative free walking tour in Braga, the oldest city in Portugal. There is an english tour starting at 11am and 3pm, and it's pay what you can. The tour lasted about 2 and a half hours

Ottimo tour con Ines, due ore e mezza volate con tante informazioni sempre molto dettagliate e accattivanti. Fondamentale per potersi gustare davvero la città (per capire cose che altrimenti rimarrebbero ignote come i ricami "sgrammaticati" tipici dei fazzoletti di Braga, o la tradizione contagiosa del copo do Moscatel con banana). Valore aggiunto: si entra gratuitamente in alcuni luoghi che da soli non sono accessibili - l'ex palazzo dell'arcivescovo oggi Rettorato dell'Università do Minho e la sede del Municipio - che meritano una visita. Ottimi anche i consigli per mangiare; apprezzato l'understatement rispetto all'organizzazione "aziendale" (altre compagnie - p. es. Sandeman - insistono molto sul racconto della loro organizzazione, sul sistema dei tour...)

My wife and I have taken this tour 3 times in the past year and a half and absolutely loved it each time. Each time it was with a different person that had their own specialty/knowledge and all three were worthy of five stars. The tour lasts anywhere from 2 1/2 hours to almost 4, depending on group size, number of questions asked, and free time the guide has. First time was with Paulo and it was just us three. Again, each guide is awesome, but Paulo is hands down the best!!! Funny, extremely informative, passionate about the Braga, its history, people, and culture. He made us fall in love with the city so much that we decided to move here from the U.S. We had already planned on moving to Portugal and Braga was one of our favorites based some internet searching, but we originally had other choices to look at. After his tour, we knew Braga was the right choice for us. He gave us stories, recommendations, tips, history, and most of all, passion. Other than visiting Bom Jesus, we visited nearly everything that Centro had to offer. All the tours have the same basic route, but he went outside of the normal path and showed more sites than the other two guides. He spoke excellent English, answered every question we had in detail, and made feel welcome to his city. His bright smile and cheerful demeanor kept us engaged even when the details became a bit overwhelming. All tours will overload you with names and history, but it never got boring with him. Miguel and Jacquin were excellent in their own ways, but were not up to Paulo's passion. Miguel gave a little more architectural knowledge than either of the others, while Jacquin gave a little more Religious history. Unfortunately, you can't choose the guide, but you will enjoy any that you get. Wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing as 90% of the tour will be outside and will involve a good amount of walking. Enjoy your banana and Moscato, stay off the lone stool, good luck in finding the third rooster, and be prepared to take lots of pictures. Please tip the guide well, as the tour is completely free otherwise.

O passeio é indispensável para quem realmente quer conhecer Braga, saber a história contada com detalhes é muito legal. O tour do Minho Free Walking Tour acontece todos os dias 11h e 15h. Fizemos com a Inês, começa no no Arco da Porta Nova, onde se caminha pela menor rua de Braga, igrejas (onde é contada com muita riqueza de detalhes), inclusive a cidade Braga é uma cidade bastante religiosa e tem inúmeras igrejas muito antigas e bonitas, por sinal. Passamos na interessante Casa das Bananas onde existe uma tradição curiosa que todo dia 24 de dezembro antes da ceia de natal a cidade se encontra no centro de Braga para tomar Moscatel comendo banana e é super popular em toda a região, e vem gente até das cidades vizinhas. Não deixamos de experimentar e realmente e bem gostoso! Uma pena não autorizarem tirar fotos lá.... O tour termina na belíssima avenida da Liberdade.

O tour acontece tds os dias 11h e 15h. Fizemos com a Inês e o início se dá no Arco da Porta Nova, percorremos pela menor rua de Braga, igrejas e seus detalhes curiosíssimos, aliás Braga é uma cidade mto religiosa e conta com inúmeras igrejas. Passamos na Casa das Bananas onde iniciaram uma tradição engraçada de td dia 24 de dezembro antes da ceia de natal a cidade se encontra no centro para tomar Moscatel comendo banana kkkkkk e é super popular, o centro fica lotado e vem gente até das cidades vizinhas. Daí claro que experimentamos o tal moscatel comendo banana. E não é que a combinação é boa? Kkkkkk (não pode tirar foto lá). O tour finaliza na linda avenida da Liberdade.

Imperdível A melhor maneira de conhecer a história e as estórias de Braga. Se visitar Braga, será imperdoável não fazer o tour! Com uma grande diversidade de temas abordados e locais visitados. Até se passa por um restaurante onde é dada oportunidade de provar as frigideiras de Braga e outro para provar um famoso moscatel... The tour was absolutely great! The guide, Pablo had very very good English and knowledge about everything, not only what he prepared before, but also could answer every single question, like about the details in sculpture or the date or the architecture style of art in particular that was of my interest. He knows a lot about the history, he loves Braga and he is totally able to transmit both of them. He is passionate about it, and funny at the same time, interacts with the group so you surely wont be bored, even if he presents many details and names that you probably wont remember. Yes, he sometimes speaks a bit too fast, but he is opened to receive any comment, so make sure if you dont follow, you would ask to repeat. He can also recommend to you places to go, either for the best local sweet, for the cheapest menu in town, the best route to bon jesus and the best place to view the sunset. I have done some tours like that in Coimbra and Porto and none of them.was in half as good as this one. What a shame i didnt have more cash on me to tip him much better. I really havent expected it to be that good (eapecially after my experience in Coimbra and Porto). I absolutely recommend it! I stayed more time than planned!

Hands down one of the best walking tours I've ever been on, free or otherwise. Paolo is incredibly knowledgeable about his city, as well as engaging, personable, and funny. Schedule your whole afternoon - with permission from the group, he gave us a tour from 3 pm until 5:45. (Though I'm sure you could pop in or out too.) Don't miss it, and bring something for a tip if you can!

Braga, é cidade à mais de 2000 anos; desde povoados anteriores aos Romanos, passando pelo período Medieval; Idade Moderna; até a Contemporaneidade. Tem muito para descobrir e oferecer.

Local muito lindo com alto valor histórico. Braga iniciou como uma cidade medieval e esse arco era a entrada da cidade que era inteiramente murada.
