Tour da fare, disponibile anche in italiano. Interessante la storia dell’azienda e alla fine ottima degustazione di vari tipi di Porto! Le bottiglie si possono poi comprare direttamente anche in aeroporto.

Wow ! Amazing place to learn about vine, to see how its done and how its stored, to listen inspiring story and to taste great Port vine strongly recommend to everyone who is at least a bit curious about vine!

Compatriotas e turistas com cabeça, evitem este lugar. Uma atração destinada aos turistas com vontades de gastar dinheiro. Falta de informação, serviço de mesa péssimo e preços excessivos. Não tivemos nem a possibilidade de estar eu e os meus 8 amigos juntos, com mesas disponíveis mas separadas. Não podíamos juntar as mesas (ordens da direcção...??) Pelo menos ofereçam uma alternativa.

Best Sangria ever! They mix it from Ruby wine and apple puree and cinnamon. Try it and try to get a strand seat in the very front at the evening and enjoy the sunset above Porto.

Worth the visit! They have tastings and a guided tour to their caves, where they let the wine age. The place is beautiful and has great historical value. You get to chose the amount of glasses you want on the tasting. It was certainly one of the best experiences in Porto

Excellent wine caves with the right guide! We had a very lovely guide who is knowledgeable and cares to ask if we have any question all the time! We learnt a great deal about Port wine! It is a wine where you drink it either as apertif or digestif or a long drink as cocktail where you mix with ice. Lots of lots of knowledge and we got educated about LBV long bottle vintage wine and many more! Overall a great experience and totally recommended if you want to be more knowledgeable in port wine!

Terraza con buenas vistas al río Duero y a la ciudad de Oporto. Mi pareja y yo ,nos pedimos dos cócteles, un sandeman bliz y el otro , un club. Estaban muy buenos y bien elaborados. Lo único malo, por ponerle algo, es que tardaron en servirnos uno de ellos. El trato de las camareras fue correcto.

Покупал билет с дегустацией 3-х видов портвейна за 16 евро.
Экскурсия на троечку, длиться не более 15-02 минут, из которых 5 минут показывают фильм об истории винного дома. Портвейна, для дегустации, наливают совсем не много. Из портвейна, мне понравился только 10-летней выдержки. Своих денег, эта экскурсия не стоит.

The cue for purchasing a ticket to the tour was very slow, causing the tour to start before everyone could pay. The personnel letting guests into the cellar was not very nice.

No soy experto en vinos y esta fue mi primera visita a una bodega de estar dimensiones. El tour dura alrededor de 45 minutos, te acompaña una guía a la que le puedes preguntar cualquier duda o inquietud. Después del tour por la bodega te ponen un. minidocumental de los viñedos de Sandeman. Al final y depende del pack que hayas elegido puedes probar 2 o 3 copas de vino, cada copa la guía te explica que matices tiene y que características. Para mi fue una experiencia muy chula y gratificante

Very bad attitude and no one is taking care of the reception or phone call. I tried to book on the phone and the girl at reception pretend the line is bad to avoid the booking. Then I walked in and they are selling tickets to others however at the end it’s sold out. It is very bad experience and really not recommend.
I would recommend Taylor’s instead.

Wonderful tasting wine and even better staff who were very friendly and patient. They took the time to explain everything and answer any questions we had. We just went in for a tasting and they have great tasting menu options.

Mooie rondleiding door de Portkelders van Sandeman in Porto. Goede uitleg over de oorsprong, de bereiding en natuurlijk aan het einde een heerlijke proeverij. Zekers de moeite waard om het te bezoeken en de verschillende soorten Port te proeven.

Good place to to test your port palette. Nice experience allowing you to understand the history for port wine. Book a time for a tasting and once done go hit the bar inside for a full glass of your favorite port. Anna was awesome and provided exceptional bar service and advice on drinks.

Very interesting experience. I have bought the package 1790, in which the tour is done with smaller groups and the wine tasting is more detailed and private. It was 22 Euros per person and it involves a brief explanation of the history of Sandeman, a tour in the caves, a video and the wine tasting. Once we were the last group (17:00), we stayed in the private tasting room for almost 1 hour, with no rush at all and enjoying the wines. I totally recommend the 1790 package because, although is more expensive, the tour is private and very detailed. We had a complete explanation of the wines and how they are done, and the tasting was really good.

Wir haben dort die 1790-Tour auf Deutsch mit zwei weiteren Pärchen gemacht. Leider konnte die Führerin nicht so gut Deutsch, sodass wir uns bei einigen Fragen auf Englisch verständigen mussten. Insgesamt war es sehr positiv, dass die Tour dort stattfand, wo auch tatsächlich die Portweine ausgebaut werden. Die Portweinprobe an sich war eher mau. Die Führerin war keine Spezialistin.

このためにポルトに来たといっても過言ではありません。大満足です。14ユーロのクラシックツアーでワインセラー見学、RubyとTawnyのワインテイスティングが最後にできます。2月半ばでしたけど、ワインセラー内凍えました笑 軽い羽織があっていいかもしれません。案内人の方はSandemanのモチーフの衣装を着ていて、雰囲気がありました。試飲でRubyの味に惚れ込んで最後に買ってしまいました。１２ユーロくらいだったと思います。やすーい！！

Se visitate Porto non potete farne a meno, la visita guidata(interattiva, interessante e divertente - ottimo inglese) è ad un prezzo accessibile senza alcun problema ed include 3 degustazioni di Porto.
È possibile fare una convenzione con altre 2 cantine e visitarle tutte e 3 ottenendo uno sconto, ma dubito che riuscirete ad arrivare a fine visita senza essere ubriachi!
Consigliato, veramente spettacolare!

You cannot visit Porto and don't do it.
The guided tour (interactive, interesting and fun - excellent English) is at an affordable price without any problem and includes 3 Porto tastings.
You can make an agreement with 2 other wineries and visit all 3 of them getting a discount, but I doubt that you will be able to arrive at the end of the visit without being drunk!
Recommended, truly spectacular!

We tried their 10 Anos port. Price was little high due to place being an tourist attraction. Some of their entry wines I could find in Ontario's LCBO and it was somehow cheaper in Canada. But some selections I liked, they didnt have it in LCBO and i bought it there. And I am glad I did.

Went on a Port wine tour here at ‘Sandeman’s’ and we found it absolutely fantastic! Leant all about the fermentation process of the port wines they have to offer which was fascinating Finished with a tasting session of the white, ruby & tawny port wines, so delicious!

Si lo que realmente pretendes es aprender del vino de Oporto, esta NO es tu visita.
Es una visita de media hora, a toda prisa, donde visitas la bodega y te explican 4 detalles del vino de Oporto, ves las barricas y donde almacenan algunas de las botellas más antiguas. Al final te hacen una cata de los vinos, que está bien, pero ahí te dejan solo y no te ayudan a distinguir los matices que diferencian a uno de otro. Pasado el tiempo que esta estipulado te echan, y siguiente grupo.
No me gustó nada la visita, me defraudó completamente.

Visita super rapida, sempre a despachar. Prova dos vinhos bastante confusa, o guia esta a explicar ao mesmo tempo para varias pessoas e grupos inclusive quem esta a ter provas vinhos diferentes. Entretanto ja ninguem sabe qual vinho eq esta a falar, pois fala abertamente para um grupo de 30 pessoas. Perdeu toda a graça quando se tornou um local altamente turistico, em que faz visitas em serie. E provas de vinhos em serie. A explicaçao de todos os vinhos nao durou mais de 5min, entretanto o guia vai se embora. A nao voltar!

Para empezar fuerom muy poco profesionales y rozando la mala educación cuando preguntamos sobre los horarios de visita. El tipo solo miraba a su móvil y parecía que le molestábamos los que estábamos allí. De ahí fuimos a Cálem y una gozada de organización e instalaciones.

That was the worst visit in Porto lodges for me. I heard a lot of mistakes made by our guid. If you want to learn about Porto's wine style you definitely should visit Taylor's or Cockburn's. Please don't pay €18 for a prestige visit, It is not worth it. I feld like in Dracula"s Castle!. And only about 30min. running tour. Horrible!

Absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Der Kellner freundlich, aber Inkompetenz. Habe eine Käseplatte bestellt und es kam folgendes (siehe unten). Jetzt könnte man denken: Ja, für 3-4€ als Vorspeise. - Nein, 9€ hat mich das gekostet. Einfach nur ein Witz und Abzocke. Die Getränke auch vom Discounter ums Eck. Bloß nicht besuchen.

Bodega de una de las marcas mas reconocidas. La visita bastante corta comparandola con otras bodegas. Explican mas bien poco y casi la mitad de la visita (+-10 min) consiste una proyeccion. La guia, eso si, muy amable que se esforzo en hacer amena la visita. Con la visita premium (15€, frente a los 12 de la clasica) te ofrecen la cata de 3 vinos: blanco, LBV y tawny 10 años. (vs. Blanco y Rubi).
Las dos estrellas que le faltan se las daria con una guia mas extensa, explicando por ejemplo algo de historia.

A good guided tour through the celler of Sandeman. It is offered in several languages and in different prices it depends on the amount of wine that you'll going to taste at the end of the tour.
I went for the classic tour which was 12 euros and taste it two different types of wine.
The tour takes 30 minutes.

This was the first Port Wine facility we came across and decided to take the the tour on October 9, 2018. We upgraded our tour to the exclusive (where you taste 3 different selections. The facility is very nice amd friendly. However, the young lady who gave the tour (English) was not very knowledgeable about the simple facts that are relatable to the tour and process of making the wine. Even though she encouraged questions to be asked, she unfortunately couldn’t answer any. (Questions that were asked were regarding the aging of the port and whether Sandman makes their own barrels, and if they are re-used or sold off to whiskey manufacturers.) The tour guide eventually stated that she took the job just because of the pay and does not even like port wine because she prefers beer instead.
Regarding the tasting, they do provide a nice generous pour, however, they do not provide water or crackers to consume between tastings.

Great experience! Guided tours are available in multiple languages. They are perfectly timed and are neither too shallow nor too deep, just enough to give the most fundamental port wine background and peek a healthy amount of interest. Definitely would recommend over some other well-known places.

Unbelievable place. The port is my favourite of the lot. The tour was incredible. The cellars are breathtakingly beautiful. Couldn't recommend it more. Lovely place to sit and have a drink and have the whole view of Porto too. The Don of ports.

Hemos comido en el restaurante una ensalada de marisco y bacalao con nata. Esta bien pero el trato del camarero que nos ha recibido ha sido un poco borde. Parecía que le sobraban clientes. Después los camareros que nos han servido han sido muy amables. Repetiría.

This is not the only change towards innovation since Sandeman have joined the group SoGrape along names such as House Feirreirinha and Offley in 2002. The House of Sandeman is now a complete experience for visitor in Vila Nova de Gaia. Besides the usual and very interesting Cellar visits, tastings and lovely Boutique, a whole new line of services is being developed at the very central lodge. Collaboration with the independence collective hospitality group has helped in providing lodging, the George restaurant upstairs as well as the terrace with a direct Douro view and the mobile bar with a menu dedicated to amazing Port cocktails. The house of Sandeman can now be seen as the full experience package.
By the way, Port cocktails is the new best thing in the world, spread the word and the love.
On the terrace, you can get some bite-sizes, tapas-style plates with a huge array of styles and tastes. The cheese plates are amazing! I can't get enough Portuguese cheeses.

Go ahead and get the tour, worth it, get 1790 or 100 years one. The shop is crooked, you will pay 50% more for every bottle which is crazy since it's supposed to be a factory store. Very disappointed they are taking advantage of clueless tourists in that manner. Unfortunately Can't give lower than 1.

Espectacular. Merece la pena la visita por el tamaño de la bodega que enseñan, el olor, la luz y la temperatura.
La cata en un poco pobre, pero tampoco importa ya que lo interesante es pasear entre barriles y barricas.

Not bad, you should probably know that if you choose the classic tour, you don't get to choose which port you get to try and get stuck with just tawny and white. They should probably mention this as I only like ruby. Thanks! Oh and the video is a little too self promo but not too bad.

Una de las bodegas de vino de Oporto más conocidas que ofrece una visita interesante. Tal vez un poco corta y la verdad es que tampoco se extienden demasiado en la elaboración del vino. Al finalizar se hace una cata de vino blanco y tinto en la misma tienda. Hay visitas en castellano y el personal es muy amable.

Es una bodega excepcional!!! El recorrido es corto, unos 10-15" pero los guías son muy amables y simpáticos, la visita clásica cuesta 12 euros y trae dos copas de cata, y la visita premium 15€, y trae tres copas de categoría superior, vale la pena visto que es un sitio fenomenal para tomar algo, y además no es caro, la media de precios para tomar algo en esta zona es de 9-10€ por dos copas de vino, por lo que 15€ por 3 copas muy buenas y una visita que vale mucho la pena está muy bien; en resumen una parada obligatoria si venís a oporto.

Visita muy interesante, aprendimos sobre el vino de Oporto. El guía muy amable se esforzaba por hacer amena la visita. Al final se hace una cata de vino. Hay visitas en castellano.
No ponemos 5 estrellas porque no nos dejaron hacer la cata de tres vinos y solo nos dieron la opción de probar dos.
Recomendamos sentarse cerca de gente que beba poco para poder rellenarse la copa :P

Sono stato a visitare questa cantina i primi di agosto. Interessante la spiegazione della guida e la visita con la spiegazione delle varie botti ivi presenti, del metodo di invecchiamento e di tutto il processo di lavorazione. Si possono anche vedere bottiglie che hanno 100 anni circa il cui prezzo può arrivare anche a 7.000,00 euro la bottiglia.

Wir haben den Shop des neu eröffneten Gebäude besucht. Alles Top, gepflegt und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.
Produziert wird nicht hier; dafür wären die Räumlichkeiten zu klein. Wer das Dourotal besucht, wird dort bereits von weitem den über das Tal wachenden Sandeman sehen.

Bona atenció. Les visites es fan en diferents idiomes. Nosaltres vam triar el portuguès perquè era la que més ens convenia per horari. N'hi ha també en castellà i en anglès.
Preu visita clàssica 12€ que inclou tast de 2 vins. La visita premium inclou tast de 3 vins i són 15€. Hi ha altres visites que inclouen més edificis.

Bien pero las hay mejores. Desde que no te dan entrada en si sino un tiquet, hasta la masificación y la cata en masa en mesas corridas que parece un comedor escolar. Competencia cercana mil veces más todo. Cercanía, calidad del vino servido, calma del recorrido e interés en la historia de la propia bodega y fundador. Particularmente Ramos Pinto ;-) me gustó mucho de esta bodega, Sandeman, el tamaño de la misma (mucho mas grande que RP) y que se ven los 3 tipos además de las botellas vintage.

Our 14:15h English tour was great.
Don was interactive and he gave us a lot of info. Premium tasting for €15 was amazing, highly recommended.
We bought fews bottles just because of it.
Later we sat down at the hostel terrace infront and tried the cocktails - they were very good.

Probablemente la mejor bodega de todo oporto. Con un logo bien diseñado que hace referencia a su origen hispánico-portugués con la capa de los universitarios portugueses y un sombrero cordobés. Todo ello haciendo referencia a su mezcla de oporto con vino de jerez, ya que es la única bodega que mezcla ambos vinos. Su interior está muy cuidado y es visita obligada. Además poseen guias en diferentes idiomas y merece la pena hacer las diferentes catas de porto.

Dicen que al visitar Oporto es imprescindible visitar una bodega y elegimos esta por ser la más famosa... Pero fue una equivocación. Elegimos la visita clásica y puede que no llegara a 5 minutos. Perseguimos al guia, que corría como si lo persiguiera el diablo, por la bodega hasta una sala. En esa sala nos pusieron un vídeo que duró más que toda la visita. Finalmente nos llevaron al bar donde se realizaba la cata, ahí también dio 4 datos rápidos sobre los vinos cuando aún no nos lo había servido y desapareció.
Supongo que al ser lod más famosos, saben que tienen los clientes asegurados. Yo recomendaría visitar una menos conocida en la que seguramente se esfuercen más por explicarte todo bien.

Een enorm gave en leerzame rondleiding bij de 'kelders' Sandeman Porto. De groep was niet groot, max. 20 personen. Uiteraard was de gids verkleed met de Sandeman's cape en hoed. Genoeg informatie over de gehele productie, de opslag en het rijpingsproces. Afsluiter met het proeven van de drie varianten, namelijk Wit, Ruby en Tawny. Allemaal niet slecht om te proeven en de glazen worden goed gevuld.
Uiteraard is het mogelijk om iets te kopen in de winkel waar je eindigt. Ook kun je hier zelf verkleed gaan als The Don. De locatie heeft ook een buitenterras, waar je heerlijk kunt nakletsen en genieten van het uitzicht.

Lovely hostel, quiet, clean and super friendly reception staff. I stayed at another hostel on the other side of the river. This one has a much nicer, friendlier atmosphere. I'd stay here again. And as an architect, there are lots of well thought out elements and lovely cork everwhever and fun dorm beds.

La entrada general cuesta 12€ con dos catas (15€ para la premium, que incluye 3). Fui a comprar la entrada a las 15h y hasta las 17h no había tour en inglés y hasta las 17:30h en español. La visita se hace bastante rápida: una media hora-45min incluyendo las explicaciones de la guía, una mini película y la cata.

1790 yılında kururlmuş Sandeman Firması'nın harika tanıtım turuna katıldık. Yaklaşık 25 kişilik gruplar halinde içeri alıyorlar. Pelerinli havalı tanıtımcılar bölüm bölüm gezdirerek İngilizce anlatıyorlar. Şarap yapımı, firmanın tarihçesi, mahzenler, devasa fıçılar, yıllanmış şaraplar ve daha birçok detay hakkında tanıtım yapılıyor. Son olarak da bir salonda masalara oturup firmanın şaraplarının tadım etkinliğine katılıyorsunuz ve isterseniz de buradan satın alıyorsunuz. Şaraptan anlayan arkadaşlarım buradan daha çok almadıklarına pişman oldular diyebilirim. Firmanın logosu da çok ilgi çekiciydi. Coimbra Üniversitesi'nde gördüğüm geleneksel öğrenci peleriniydi bu.

The tour takes you through the cellars full of rows and rows of port barrels, plus massive vats, while learning about port production. It was cool to see workers actually draining and filling some of the barrels and seeing some of the vintage ports dating back to 1908. The tour ended with an incredible (and delicious) tasting of 10, 20, 30, and 40 year tawny port!

Die Führung durch die Weinkeller ist ein einzigartiges Erlebnis, das Englisch vom Guide ist gut verständlich. Im Anschluss gibt es ein Wine Tasting mit umfangreicher Erklärung. Im Shop kann man alles über Wein, Kleidung, Flaschenöffner usw von Sandeman erwerben. Auf der Terasse entspannen und ein Glas Portwein trinken ist auch zu empfehlen.

Fuimos a tomar unos vinos y primero nos atendió un señor muy divertido, que nos acompaño a una mesa y dejó con el camarero a quien estuvimos esperando 15 minutos para que nos cogiera nota, 20 para un cenicero y más de 30 minutos para la cuenta, cuando no estaba lleno. Por otra parte buenos vinos.

Wir haben hier im Juli 2019 eine Führung mitgemacht. Der Guide hat die Führung in der Deutsch durchgeführt. Wir hatten Glück und waren die einzigen Teilnehmer. Auf Grund unseres großen Interesses am Portwein konnten wir alle Fragen über die verschiedenen Sorten loswerden. Der Einblick in den Keller von Sandemann war hervorragend.
Die anschließend Verkostung mit Erklärung war wieder sehr informativ. Leider schmeckt uns der Sandemannportwein an sich nicht so gut wie andere Marken. Die Führung inklusive Verkostung für weniger als 25€ ist sehr preiswert. Man kann hier 4 Portweine probieren. Allein dafür kann man in einem Restaurant schon mehr bezahlen.
Fazit: Portweinführung gehört zum Erlebnis Porto dazu!

Een unieke ervaring. Ik ben met een privé-gids rondgeleid, ingewijd in het maken van porto, de 'schatten' met enorme vaten heel oude porto gezien. Na afloop een porto van 40 jaar oud geproefd, in combinatie met een stukje chocolade; een pure verwennerij voor de smaakpapillen! Een bezoek dat me nog lang zal heugen!

Wir haben bei einem Aufenthalt in Porto der Location einen Besuch abgestattet und hierbei eine Führung gebucht. Wir waren mit einer angenehmen Gruppengröße unterwegs und konnten einen tollen Einblick erhalten. Im Anschluss gab es noch eine kleine Verkostung. Absolut zu empfehlen. Uns hat es gut gefallen!

マップで見ると高低の繋がりが分かり辛いですが、橋の下側を通って行けます。
残念なところ
英語のツアーが何時から行われるかよく確認してから行く必要があります。
ツアー以外でワイナリーを自由に見て回ることはできず、ツアーを逃すと小さなミュージアムの見学だけしかできません。

Beautiful region in Portugal! Full of history and local attractions. I would highly recommend the Sandeman Cellars Wine tour. The guides are very informative and it is just something that should be seen. The sampling is a really nice selections of wine. Very easy to spend the day or a week in this region.

Very interesting visit to the cellars of Sandeman. You’ll be able to see the impressive structure behind Port’s storage and maturation. If you have time I recommend visiting the winery in Douro Valley (Quinta do Seixo), you can buy the visit as a pack (winery + cellars).

Il faut bien évidemment visiter une cave lorsque l'on est de passage à Porto... Je reste sur une impression d'attrape touriste dommageable. La visite se fait au pas de course. Les groupes s enchaînent pour atterrir rapidement dans la boutique... Réservation obligatoire pour une visite guidée dans votre langue.

포트와인을 사러 갔었는데 계산할 때 키가 큰 남자직원이 와인을 쇼핑백에 넣을때 너무 기분 나쁜 표정으로 쳐다보더군요.
아래로 내리깔아보듯이. 무시하는듯한 그런 표정. 빤히 쳐다보면서
계산해주는 여자직원은 친절해서 그냥 넘겼는데
자꾸 그 표정이 생각나서 오늘 여행 기분 망쳤네요. 기분나빠
괜히 샌드맨에서 포트와인 샀어요.

Magnificas vistas desde la orilla del río.
Trato amable por parte del dueño y los camareros. Comimos, en la terraza, dos tipos diferentes de caldos, bacalao y sardinas, también tienen platos para los peques. La calidad es buena y la cocina sin estridencias, todo muy casero cuidando el producto.
En temporada alta será otra cosa.

Nice visit and explications. We did the classic tour and could taste 2 port wines. At the tasting the guide says if we have more questions she will be there to answer them. 2 minutes later she was gone.. otherwise quite ok.

Was a Great seeing the Sandeman caves. Really love the port that they produce, was one of the main reasons for visiting Porto on our world trip from NZ.....
Unfortunately the reason I gave 2 stars was due to a bad experience with a staff member. My partner fainted at the start of our tour inside the cave, I managed to get her away from the group to a seat and went to the main counter to find help. I explained to the girl that was there what had happened and asked for water to give to her, She was no help, didnt really care and told me that they didnt provide water............. (This made me panic as I felt alone and had no idea what to do as I was in a foreign country) I went back to my partner and she was unconscious, which made me freak out even more as one would and had to find another staff member who was busy serving drinks. I explained the situation and he could tell I was panicking a fair bit and got me a glass of water for her straight away...... luckily she come to and was ok after 10 mins and we managed to catch the second half of the tour. One would expect better customer service from any establishment.

Hatten in der Weinkellerei die „1790“ Führung gebucht, welche sich mit 22€ pro Nase im Portemonnaie niederschlug. Im Preis inbegriffen waren eine sehr detaillierte Führung durch die regulären Weinkeller (die großen Führungen kosten ab 35€ aufwärts)
sowie die Verkostung von fünf Portos (white, ruby, vintage, tawny10 und tawny20) in einem separee hinter einer schweren Eichentüre.
Die Führung selbst wurde von einer localita in „the Don“-Outfit in Englisch gehalten (danke an dieser Stelle an Denise ), zeitweise war sie etwas schnell unterwegs, was beim Englisch-Porto Einschlag dann kurzzeitig zu Fragezeichen überm Kopf geführt hat, welche aber im nächsten Satz schnell wieder verschwunden waren.
Inhaltlich wurde alles angesprochen was sich vor Betreten der Kellerei an Fragen bzw. Unwissen angehäuft hatte, ich für meinen Teil fühlte mich umfassend informiert.
Historisches wie technisches gleichermaßen wurde ausgewogen zur Sprache gebracht, alles rund um Wein, Kelterei, Lokalität, Arbeitsweisen, warum der Wein so schmeckt, Unterschiede zum - ebenfalls von sandeman produzierten, aber eben spanischen - sherry,...die Liste ist lang, und ich möchte nicht alles Erzählen sondern zum Besuch der Führung anregen - sie ist es wert.
Entgegen mancher anderen Rezensionen hier war die Führung auch sehr entspannt, man hat zwar gemerkt dass die Zeiten getaktet sind, da sich hinter uns bereits in Nebengängen der Keller weitere Gruppen befanden, alles in allem hatte ich aber nie das Gefühl gehetzt zu werden oder einen Geschwindigkeitszwang auferlegt bekommen zu haben.
Die Verkostung an sich lief absolut zwanglos ab, wir haben 5 Gläser mit Port bekommen zu denen jeweils einzeln Informationen zum Inhalt gegeben wurden. Rein zur Gegenrechnung: fur 22€ bekommt man in keiner taberna fünf Gläser hochwertigen Port hingestellt allein von daher rentiert sich die Führung.
Für uns war diese Führung sowie das gesamte Ambiente der sandeman Kellerei absolut sehenswert, daher auch verdiente 5 Sterne. Gerne auch mehr. ♂️

Leider keinen Stern verdient.
Rasante Führung ist noch sehr positiv. Sehr unfreundlich. Bereits 10 Minuten vor Schließung wurden wir aufgefordert auszutrinken und wir konnten keinen Wein mehr kaufen, da die Kasse eine Minute vor Schluss geschlossen wurde, obwohl zwei Mitarbeiter bereit standen.

The tour is very routine, packed and commercial, but I guess that's what you get at the most recognised wine house in Porto. The tasting at the end included a 10 year tawny so not a bad value for money.

Price is expensive for some reason. It's the same price exported as in person at the shop or Quinta. Technically more expensive in Portugal when you pay the exchange rate. No reason to buy here. Great ports though.

Das war das mieseste Restaurant in ganz Porto. Der Service war unterirdisch übellaunig, bekam ausser einem Grunzen keinen Laut heraus. Die Wartezeiten beim Bezahlen eine Unverschämtheit diese beliefen sich auf ca 40 Min. Den einen Stern gibt es nur, weil das Essen immerhin noch so lala war. Touristenmampf halt. Von einem Besuch kann ich nur dringend abraten!

Poorly organised tour, not worth 13 EUR. The tour was super short (less than 15 min), the guide was was very inexperienced and spoke in low tones, a group of 4 totally drunk guys were allowed to enter and spoil the experience for us and other 20 visitors. The 'tasting' at the end was a disaster. We had to wait 5 min to enter the tasting room, after we were seated and then nothing happened for another 10 min. We started drinking the wine in front of us, and then the guide started us something about the wine which we could not hear due to the drunk guys shouting and music playing in the background. Overall - very disappointing.

É inadmissível e de uma TOTAL DESCRIMINAÇÃO que aos dias de hoje um portador de deficiência tenha que marcar uma visita para poder visitar um espaço, pois se quem anda não tem que o fazer porque temos nós portadores de deficiência que o fazer? Simplesmente não tem cabimento algum ter inclusive uma solução que não está "on" 24/7 !
Infelizmente a má experiência não se deu apenas nas caves é de lamentar que no "BAR" pertencente a este estabelecimento só sirvam quem está sentado (mas após receber o pedido pode se estar em pé no estabelecimento??) coisa que infelizmente até estou diariamente à 26 anos mas como não estava ao balcão o atendente nem sequer se digna a olhar em volta e mesmo quando o meu pai chamou a atenção ele insistiu pois nem se deu ao trabalho de ouvir o que lhe estava a ser dito !! Demasiado triste para os dias de hoje e para um estabelecimento que ao que sei está até bem cotado !! Votos de boa evolução temporais !!

Visita alla Cantina Sandeman con guida in Italiano. Il giro dura cira 30/40 minuti e la visita è molto interessante e spiegano molto bene i processi di produzione e di messa in botte dei vari tipi di porto. La cantina Sandeman è una delle più commerciali e famose al mondo. Nella visita è inclusa una degustazione di 2 o 3 tipi di porto in base al pacchetto acquistato. Se siete a Porto dovete visitarla.

Обязательно зайдите в эту винотеку. Сразу станет ясно как делается портвейн. Это одна из старейших винотек в порто. Посещение только с экскурсией. Общее время - минут сорок. После экскурсии - дегустация портвейнов, там же есть магазин, где можно купить их портвейн. В общем понравилось. Рекомендуется.

Interesting visit, very nice and interesting guide. Yet, if you take the last tour of the day, be careful: it's expeditive !!
Since everybody wants to go back home (and I get it), you have literaly 5min to buy some bottles (only in cash at that hour so you better have anticipated...) and you dont get the chance to "taste" the wines. You only have time to take them as shooters... too bad for 13€ and people who expected to bring back few bottles but did not have enough cash.

We went on a tour of Sandemans through an tour company which included a tasting. I enjoyed the first half of the tour. Our guide showed us the barrels and explained almost everything there is to know about how port is made.
However, for the the second half of the tour we were shown a video in Spanish about the Douro wine region. There was our group and a much smaller Spanish group. We couldn't understand why they hadnt even provided subtitles for the video as it seemed like it might have been interesting.
The tasting was great and again the guide was great. But overall it also seemed a little short and the video was disappointing.

Overall it was a pleasant tour of the Porto cellars.
The tour is about 40 minutes long and very informative about the history and making of the Porto wine.
The only negative was the video at the end that explained everything the tour guy had just told us (minus the Portuguese accent)
I’d still recommend the tour because like he said.. the best part is the tasting at the end.
You get to try the classic white Porto and the tawny reserve Porto.

J'ai visité cette cave. La visite est correcte. En revanche, la boutique présente un choix réduit à très peu de choses et le service est médiocre. Quasiment pas de petites bouteilles (et pas de boîte pour le transport dans ce cas). C'est vraiment indigent !!!

Una de las atracciones principales de Oporto, es cruzar de orilla del Duero y encontrarte con las numerosas bodegas de la zona.
Sandeman es una de las más típicas y renombradas. Ofrecen visitas guiadas, catas y tienda. Si bien no es la mas barata (Tour mas cata de dos vinos 13€, en español) es de las mas recomendadas por los locales.
Nosotros salimos encantados y sabiendo distinguir el Oporto.

Típica bodega de Oporto en la que poder visitar y conocer el proceso de la fabricación de los vinos de Oporto la visita dura entorno media hora y después se pueden probar los distintos vinos yo recomiendo coger la visita clásica no merece la pena pagar la diferencia por probar una pequeña copa de otros vinos la visita en sí está muy bien y es bastante interesante recomendable reservar por internet

It takes some talent to be able to ruin a simple portion of vegetarian Pasta. Sandeman have done it big time. With a very basic service where describing the meal had little to do with what came in in the end. Tasteless and sad. While a horrible violin had made it even harder to swallow.

Weiter wurde auch der falsche Wein gebracht.

Did the tour where you get to see where the Port is stored in the barrels and a tasting. There was a video at the end that pretty much covered everything that was said in the tour which was strange, they should have done the video first so you could then understand the tour more. Beautiful spot right on the water. We did the cellar tour which was alright, although I wouldn't recommend it. The guide wasn't very enthusiastic and I wish she gave more information. The ports were nice though

i highly recommend this restaurant in the port of oporto... the food is really really good with good ambiance, good spot specially in thw eveneing, and the most important thing is one of the best foods in oporto that we've been.. we ordered vegetable salad with Mango, the codfish with cream (one of the food delicacy) and the grilled lamb and all of it were so damn good even the desert.. if ever we're coming back here probably this is the first one we're goin to visit.. try it guys and enjoy

Abbiamo visitato le cantine con la guida in lingua inglese (quella italiana non c’è tutti i giorni). Abbiamo prenotato il tour al mattino per il pomeriggio, prezzi onesti (tour classico 12€ con due vini, tour premium 16€ con tre vini). La guida è stata molto gentile e ci ha spiegato esaustivamente le differenze tra le tipologie di Porto e la storia dell’azienda.

Very commercial tour. We enjoyed going into the cellars and seeing the giant barrels, vintages, and various tools. The guide was pleasant.
Go to basically any of the other wineries for a better experience. Kopke has a gorgeous tasting room and their products were more our taste. Their port tastings are served with chocolates and water.
We were on the English tour. The weirdest thing was at the end of the tour, we were shown a video described by our guide as being ‘partially in Spanish and in English’ but it was 10 min of Spanish with roughly 4 sentences of English in total and no English subtitles. When watching the video, we were together with a Spanish tour and it really just seemed like the guides simply wanted us to finish the tour so they grouped us together and picked the language of the first group to arrive. The video at the end had lovely imagery though and would have been nice to know what they were saying...

Tra le tante cantine visitate a Vila Nova de Gaia abbiamo provato anche questa. Io e il mio ragazzo non abbiamo prenotato, ci siamo presentati all'ingresso e l'ultimo tour disponibile era in portoghese, una mezz'oretta dopo così abbiamo acquistato i biglietti. Tour interessante, anche se a mio giudizio molto sbrigativo (forse perché era l'ultimo della giornata?) con spiegazioni relative alla casa vinicola, ai tipi di Porto prodotti, al processo di produzione. Tour che si è concluso con la degustazione di tre tipi diversi di Porto, per 16€. Durata totale meno di un'ora, il tour è iniziato alle 19:15 e siamo stati invitati a fare la degustazione velocemente e ad uscire alle 20:00 perché chiudevano...
Hanno un negozio dove è possibile acquistare ovviamente bottiglie. Una visita qui la sconsiglio altamente, ci sono moltissime altre cantine meno commerciali, più preparate, più gentili e per le quali vale la pena spendere soldi e tempo.

Great tour of the winery and it also includes tasting some of their wines. The wine tour guide explained how the wines are made, where they are made, how they are transported, how they are stored, how long they are stored, and so on. It was a really interesting tour.

Good wine tour. I've done the premium. Definitely worth the money. It lasts about 45-60minutes (35 tour-20wine tasting). Wine offered at the end is delicious. Cellars are interesting

Ir a Porto e deixar de visitar uma Cave é quase uma certeza de.arrependimento futuro. Em cais da Gaia alem do Sandeman estao varias outras caves. A Sandeman é famosa pelo estilo e historia. I enjoyed my trip exploring cellars of Sandeman winery. If you want to learn about the brand and how do they produce their wine you couldn't find better place. You can also taste different types of port wine at the end of the trip and buy some souvenirs in their shop.

Excelente visita. Soy Argentina pero hice la visita en Portugues por que la que había en Español era muy tarde para mi. El guía, excelente, habló en forma lenta para que pudiera entender todo y así fue. La duración es la exacta para ser interesante y la explicación amena. La recomiendo totalmente.

Ich bewerte nicht die Führung, sondern den Service auf der Terrasse: Unaufmerksam, unmotiviert, unausgebildet. 20 Minuten bis man überhaupt eine Karte bekam. Weitere 15 Minuten bis zur Information, dass der bestellte Cocktail nicht verfügbar ist, weitere 10 Minuten bis zur Information dass auch dieser Cocktail ausgegangen ist. Weitere 15 Minuten bis die Bestellung eintrifft. Bezahlen ähnlich schwierig. Die eigentlich bei Sandeman geplante Kellerbesichtigung haben wir dann lieber bei Taylor’s unternommen. Zwei Sterne, weil die Terrasse trotzdem die schönste Sitzgelegenheit am Douro ist.

Nous sommes simplement venus acheter des bouteilles de Porto, l'accueil fut agréable et les conseils parfaits pour trouver notre bonheur.
Les prix sont tres interessants (comparés à ceux en France, je n'ai pas regardé dans les boutiques autour du centre historique par contre)
Nous n'avons pas eu le temps de faire la visite malheureusement mais je n'en ai entendu que du bien.

This is a review of the tour and sampling. I think the best part of this place is the sights in the cellar. There are a lot of opportunities for interesting photos. If you want to learn about Port wines go to a tasting. If you want to learn about Sandeman specifically the tour is interesting. There is a small sampling at the end without much explanation.

Very nice spot directly on the river. Great electronic lounge sound with cool cocktails and of course port tasting. More expensive than others, very touristy but still nice. Can get busy but just wait a while for a table. Sit, sip and enjoy the atmosphere.

Tasting was without explanation of the glasses.
4 premium tasting were missing, too much argument for one additional.
Client service was not good due to tasting management. Need to improve this in order to give customer satisfaction.

We took a short tour and a taste of the three varieties at the end. Really interesting to find out more about the story of port and Mr Sandeman. The place offers a polished and branded experience, maybe not as authentic as the small independents but the port is tasty.

One of the many Porto cellars of the city. Row after row of barrels. The guided tour is marginally instructive (5 minutes of Wikipedia reading gives you more info), but mostly marketing, as they keep repeating they are “quality” Porto.
You get to taste a few port wines at the exit. But they are uninteresting, as they are the same you find in all supermarkets.
Go there out of curiosity, but don’t expect much.
