Lovely area with old colorful houses. River Douro right there. Lots of restaurants nearby. Nice place to see and to spent time.

Fuente mítica, de esta hermosa y bulliciosa plaza, da Ribeira. Obra de José Rodrigues, es un cubo de bronce, sujetado sólo por uno de sus vértices. Se integra en la reconstitución de una fuente antigua que fue descubierta en aquela zona. La escultura cuenta con juegos de agua y en sus lados superiores presenta unas palomas esculpidas, que comparten su espacio con sus compañeras vivas.

Porto'da görebileceğiniz birçok ilginç ve anlam dolu heykelden biri bu Küp Çeşme'dir. Tarih kokan Riberia Meydanı'nda bulunan bu ilginç küp şeklindeki heykelin altından su akar. Bu çeşmenin hikayesi de ilginçtir. 1983 yılında orada yapılan arkeolojik kazılarda eski bir çeşme bulunmuş ve bu heykel oraya suyla entegre olarak konulmuştur. Heykeltıraş Jose Rodrigues tarafından yapılmış bu bronz eser 600 kilo ağırlığındadır. Ayrıca heykelin üstünde yine heykelden güvercinler de dikkat çekmekte ve gerçekleri ile bu heykeli paylaşmaktadır. Ayrıca 2000 yılları başında heykelin bir nişine Saint John the Baptist'in heykeli de eklenmiştir. Riberia'yı gezerken zaten göreceksinizdir he ne kadar bölgede birçok kafe ve onların şemsiyeleri olsa da.

A Fonte do Cubo na Praça da Ribeira na Cidade do Porto, é uma obra de autoria do já falecido Escultor José Rodrigues, foi inaugurada em 1983. A obra em bronze tem a forma de um Cubo pesa 600 quilos e tem as dimensões de 2 m vezes 2 m.

Netradiční fontána, ze které čouhá velká krychle a na ní jsou vyvední ptáci. Při naší návštěvě dost podivně pěnila, těžko říct proč. :o)

The sculpture is amusing and fun to look at it...the area may be super touristy...but that is not a bad thing and there are a few true gems nearby going away from the river...just saying

Fontána na malém náměstí „Laplace de la Ribeira“ v rušném centru města. Místo se nachází kousíček od řeky Douro. Kolem najdete mnoho hotelů, restaurací, obchodů (nejen se suvenýry), ale i mnoho pouličních umělců. Zdůrazňuji, že se jedná opravdu o značně rušnou část města, kudy lidé neustále prochází. Rozhodně se nejedná o žádné klidné místo. Na druhou stranu má tato fontána své kouzlo a na náměstí se krásně hodí. Celé místo navíc krásně dokreslují barevné domky po celém náměstí i v jeho okolí.

Beautiful sculpture on a much crowded and sometimes dirty square. By acclaimed artist José Rodrigues (born 1936) one of the most influential alumni from the Porto School of Fine Arts. In 1968 José Rodrigues formed the group "Os Quatro Vintes" ("The Four Twenties") along with his colleagues Ângelo de Sousa, Armando Alves and Jorge Pinheiro, who like him completed the course with top marks (20/20).
