オビドスの街の一番高台にあります。細いにぎやかな街並みを通り抜けると静寂な中庭に面した客室と二階にレストランがあります。エレベーターがないのですが、フレンドリーで親切なスタッフが重い荷物を運んでくれました。街並みを一望出来ます。

An amazing place to stay the night.
Could not imagine a better way to experience Óbidos rather than staying a night T the castle.
The room are small, and old, but magnificent, the castle grounds are beautiful and the view from the walls and towers is breathtaking.
We also had dinner at the castle restaurant, it was nice, but the food can do better.
On top the staff was kind and helpful.
Getting there was not too easy, we climbed all the way with a 9 seats van, but be sure to take a small car.
In the end it was worth everything.

Lieu touristique ou les visiteurs aflut de toute part , trop de monde mais c'est à voir , les remparts, les calèches, les arcades , les églises qui sont magnifiques , à voir au moins une fois

Perfect hotel, the old castle of the village. Now reconstructed. The only thing is that rooms are too close and you can hear the neighbors very loudly. Very good breakfast. You have to go upstairs to the rooftop and admire the sights

I had a standard double room. I expected it to be in the castle keep, but in reality it was in one of the adjacent white buildings, which didn't look very special. In terms of atmosphere it didn't do much for me, other than being inconveniently small. Yes, I know that it can't be helped, but definitely consider leaving your luggage behind. The keep itself is pretty small, not sure how many rooms they have there. It contains the restaurant which does have some nice medieval atmosphere. Considering it was in a historical building, the room was well kempt.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which helped justify some of the price for me, but bottom line I didn't feel it was worth it.
If that's what you are looking for, for this price I have stayed in much better castle hotels in eastern Europe (you might not find the same friendly service there however).

When you visit Obidos, one of the cutest towns in Portugal, about an hour drive north of Lisbon, make sure you discover this inn “pousada”, and at least treat yourself to a drink if not to an upscale
lunch. Beautifully decorated with elegant taste, it is also a lovely hotel overlooking the valley with spectacular view.

The breakfast was a little disappointing as there was only 1 person working and was very overwhelmed. We felt sorry for him but he could have handled things better with the guests. everything else was amazing!!

We were a family of four (including two adult sons) The hotel was charming in every way. Extremely clean and beautifully furnished. The beds were vary comfortable and it was very quiet overnight. Anna was very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel highly.

אחד המלונות המיוחדים שהייתי. ממוקם במצודה עתיקה , אבך מצוייד במיטב הציוד של בית מלון מודרני. יש לציין את הצוות שמוכן לעזור מסחיבת המזוודות יד לחניית המכונית.
הנוף מהמם וארוחת הבוקר טעימה ועשירה, אם כי חסרה ירקות .
הבעיה העיקרית של המקום היא הנגישות הנובעת ממספר רב של מדרגות שצריכים לעלות לחדרים ולמסעדה.

We had such a great experience here we loved every second. The staff was amazing, the room was sound proof, the town was so adorable. Its hard to find if you are driving but we just followed the wall around and went through the signs that said not to and we found our way in no time.

The originally booked room was very basic and we opted to upgrade ourselves by paying an extra €10. This room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and well equipped with essentials.

Because of the abnormally crowded conditions due to the Christmas Carnival, I needed to search out the hotel on foot. One of the reception staff members followed me back to the car and guided us through the narrow passageways and throng of holiday festival goers. Exceptional customer service! But I recommend that the hotel sent an email or text to arriving guess to warn them of the extreme difficulty in finding the property.Although the staff referred to us as the king and queen, the room size was more appropriate to a squire. And while the breakfast buffet offered the standard fare, the views from the restaurant were stunning. It was the perfect beginning to our tour of the castle. Perhaps for a jaded European this setting might be routine, but if you are new to castles, this village impresses. On a clear winter day we were able to enjoy stunning vistas that included vineyards, winding alleyways, and the majestic towers. I strongly recommend that you avoid the festival season and pick a time when the crowds will be thin, otherwise it feels more like a Disney attraction than a medieval castle.

Our entire stay at this historic castle hotel was a wonderful adventure. In a career of staying at hotels, I can honestly say, this stay was memorable, romantic, tasteful and one we will never forget. Let me say to all who read this, its a maintained 10th century Castle that has been remodeled to include modern amenities, but it is still a castle. If youve ever possessed some curious romantic fantasy to play and explore and dine like royalty in a real castle, this place is for you. It will certainly stand out in your memories as special and unique and wildly romantic. All other hotel stays in your life will simply be compartmentalized into other categories, because this hotel will exist happily alone into a very special category all its own, that one stay where you were treated like royalty in a real 10th century castle in Portugal. Happy travels and safe adventures to you all.

Eine Nacht auf unserer Reise in dieser wunderschönen Pousada verbracht. Herrliche Zimmer und auch das Abendessen lies keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Überhaupt muss man die weisse Stadt mit vielen Künstlern gesehen haben und mal 1 ganzen Tag hier verbringen. Schöne gemütliche Lokal drumherum. Wir kommen wieder

An Ancient set of rooms built adjacent to the city walls gives you a special atmosphere as you are living in the 15th or so century. The staff work very hard to give you the filling that you are a nobel personality. The location is perfect. Close to the main way of tourism and yet not in the center of the noise. But pay attention - if you plan arriving with a car. Ask at the entrance how to get to the hotel. You can park literally at the entrance of the hotle, but the way is not obvious. You have to be a good driver to pass the narrow streets. AND DON'T COUNT ON WAZE OR ANY OTHER APP. it will only misguide you.

All in all we really enjoyed our one night stay in the castle of Obidos. The room was great, the view (we had the best place during breakfast) was incredible and the whole building is just impressive.
I have to deduct two stars though, as what we experienced from a service point of view was just not what you'd expect of a 5 star hotel. We wanted to have some wine at the bar in the evening. The bar wasn't manned, which would not be a problem, as there was a note telling you to ring up the reception from the phone at the bar. We did that twice (waiting 10 minutes in between) and left the bar/restaurant about an hour later without having seen anyone from the staff.
During the checkout I "complained" about that fact, but the recepionist just told me, that she was answering the phone the evening before, but the barkeeper was busy in the restaurant which was full. We did not even get an apology for that service debacle.

気分は中世の王族。城壁からの眺望も素晴らしいし、城下町の風景お店も素晴らしい。食事はホテルで食べてもいいし、街で食べても良い。駅から徒歩10分位だが坂がすごく、タクシーもいなくスーツケース持参では至難の業。※私達は親切なドライバーに助けてもらいました。Caldas da Rainha駅もタクシーが少ないので、事前に手配した方が良さそう。丸一日楽しめるので余裕を持った行程をおすすめします。

Stayed in the castle (and upgraded to the king/queen tower) after a day in Óbidos. Really a unique and once in a lifetime experience. All staff bent over backwards for you. Definitely not your typical hotel (obviously) but in a good way. Cannot day enough good about our stay and would highly recommend to anyone

The staff was so friendly and kind. Helpful with any questions and moving luggage. Inside the castle wall is a small village that is humble and feels like stepping back in time. I traveled from the top of Portugal to Lisboa and inside the walls was the very best authentic shopping! I can not wait to go back! The castle is maintained well, beautifully decorated, breathtaking views, amazing friendly people, delicious food, amazing souvenirs and possibly one of the best experiences of my life! Huge thank you to the staff.

The location is truly stunning and we felt very privileged to be staying right in the Castelo itself. Our room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable, with all amenities we could have hoped for. The management sent us helpful information ahead of our stay, telling us how to enter the castle wall and where to park, and staff are ready to assist with carrying bags up the few stairs to ones room. We found all staff professional and helpful. The restauarnt is a spectacular location with lovely views, although the dinner for was ever so slightly disappointing.

Very well-prepared food in a regal setting within the walls of the castle. Service is professional and gracious. Prices are on the high side, but so what, you're dining like royalty! One caveat: insist on being seated in the main dining room. The smaller room at the entrance looks fine, but that's where the WC is, plus the entrance for the cleaning crew, and where linens, etc. are stored. Stick with the main room and be prepared for menu prices that are somewhat higher than you would expect in Portugal.

The proprietress was most gracious & friendly. Breakfast was very satisfactory in very pleasant dining room. Location is perfect! Very close to walled inner city of Obidos, where the outdoor marketplace sells food & goods; and also, directly within the best part of Obidoss two major thoroughfares. My wife & I are VERY HAPPY we stayed 2 days at Casa de Sao Thiago dObidos. Much gratitude to our hostess!:). Joram & Gloria

1, The breakfast fruit bowl was excellent. 2, Expedia made me believe this was the one below the castle so I walked all the way up Rua Direita with my luggage to it before being turned back to go back by the Porta da Vila! It really was not their fault. I think Expedia misled me. 3. Despite the cleanliness there was an unbearable sewer smell in the bathroom whether using the sink, shower or toilet which always resulted in this loud knocking noise in the pipes before the bad sewer smell comes out of the toilet at 1 time actually spilling into the bedroom. Ive had the same experience in old european town accomodations so I survived my 1 night stay. 4. There were people talking loudly below my window followed by a marching horn band that went around till 10:30pm with somewhat sad pieces,the 1st piece sounded to me like a dirge.

Guests should be informed at time of reservation that the facility has no conditions for senior or people with disabilities. Even at check in when making reservation for dinner with the family (7 people)we were not informed that to get to the restaurant we needed to walk up 55 steps outside with no rails. Ridiculous and dangerous specially with wet pavement.

It was a dream of mine to stay at a castle and this did not disappoint. It is a beautiful hotel in a fairytale town. I hurt my foot and the hotel staff was very kind and attentive. I want to come back and stay in the Tower room.

Die Pousada im Gesamten ist spektakulär, die Räumlichkeiten liebevoll hergerichtet! Auch das Restaurant mit seinen Speisen ist sehr zu empfehlen! Grundsätzlich hat man bei solch alten Gemäuern ein paar Kompromisse wie z. B. Hellhörigkeit in den Zimmern einzugehen, aber das gesamte Ambiente der Pousada entschädigt allgemein. Der Ort ist tagsüber innerhalb der Burgmauern sehr touristisch, wer also Ruhe haben will, schaut sich den Ort am späteren Abend (Nebensaison) allein an.
Preisleistung ist an den Tourismus im Ort angeglichen.

Au delà de l'histoire de la bâtisse et d'une cuisine exquise grosse erreur de choix : accès compliqué, absence de parking sécurisant pour une voiture de location, chambre avec pour seule ouverture la porte d'entrée donnant sur une cour ouverte à tous les vas et viens des touristes curieux donc rideaux occultant en permanence tirés ! Eu égard au prix payé c'est décevant. Mais à vous de vous faire votre opinion.

The hostess allowed to leave bags in the hotel when we arrived very early and helped us arrange for the bus to our next destination, She also made sure we had breakfast before we left for the bus! Thanks!

I loved this place. Very well worh the money. We had a small room but it was ok for 1 night. Views were amazing. Great dinner. Service impeccable in all the Departments! Breakfast was very good. Great selection ans in a nice room. Lovely place.

What a treat to stay inside a castle!! The service was excellent! When we arrive we were warmly greeted and offered something to drink. We were brought up to our room. The luggage was delivered, as they refused to let us take it up. The rooms are small but fine for two people. The restaurant inside the hotel is also great. The service was a cut above and the food delicious. Well worth a stay and the extra money to stay here. One word of caution: the roads are narrow to drive up to the castle. There's some parking near the entrance, just make sure you rent a small car.

Tolles Ambiente in alter Burg. Zimmer sehr klein. Bett war durchgelegen. Mühsamer Aufstieg von der Rezeption zur Burg (Zimmer). Sehr eingeschränkte und daher z. T. unzureichende Parkmöglichkeiten. Autos mussten z. T. durch das Personal umgeparkt werden. Schwierige und unzureichend ausgeschilderte Zufahrt durch sehr enge Stadttore (sehr gute Fahrpraxis erforderlich; schwierig mit unbekanntem Leihwagen). Gutes aber sehr teures Restaurant; nur ein Menü zur Auswahl ohne täglichen Wechsel; sonst ala Carte (noch teurer).

Ao chegarmos ao castelo medieval somos recebidos pelo Luiz Francisco, cara como um humor contagiante. Sobe com nossas malas contando a história do castelo, dos Reis e rainhas e que ali seremos como eles.... fantástico.
Por ser um castelo antigo e medieval não se pode esperar uma estrutura de hotel 5 estrelas.... mas atendimento sim..... todos com muita personalidade e atenção.
Quarto bem arrumado, limpo e amplo.... ficamos no Dona Catarina.... perfeito. Já tinha lido que os quartos das torres são bem pequenos e claustrofóbicos.... foi uma ótima escolha.
O jantar foi mais que perfeito. Fomos atendidos pelo Nunes e equipe que nos tratou como realeza....
Tudo perfeito.

Há sido una muy agradable experiencia, el personal del hotel encantador, con un trato de lo más amable, el castillo es precioso, y el desayuno sin poner ni una falta, correcto. Si tengo q poner un pero, y ese si es un detalle a tener en cuenta por parte del hotel es la cama, bastante bastante regular el colchón, de los antiguos, muy poco confortable, y la habitación muy pequeña. Con el sitio muy justito.

Wunderbarer Blick über das Dorf und abends die letzten hellen Strahlen, bevor die Sonne hinter den Burgzinnen untergeht. Romantisch wie Sau.
Bloß nicht die 'Sandwiches' bestellen, diese bestehen lediglich aus Brot mit Discounter-Käse/Wurst.
Die Schlechtesten ihrer Sorte, die ich jemals gegessen habe all over the world und den Namen 'Sandwich' nicht im geringsten gewachsen. Schade.

Beautiful place and if you don't want to fork out for lunch or dinner, then have breakfast buffet for only €12.50 p.p.
Be sure to get there early so you can get one of the two tables with a view :) great attentive service! Also, after breakfast go explore along the towers for some great views!

Another gem of pousadas in Portugal, situated in a pittoresque village of Óbidos. The rooms are inside the medieval castle, everyone uniquely different, with small details like local liquor (ginginha) or handmade wool blankets equipped. A very outstanding hotel to stay at - we appreciated very much our stay here. Special thanks to a very attentive and friendly staff!

Having just spent nights in Pousada in Queluz and Palmela this is soooo disappointing. Poky room that costs about 50% more than the other two. Zilch view and outside the castle. What's the benefit?

This used to be in the Michelin Guide. No idea why it isn't now. I've eaten in many MG recommended places that can't hold a candle to this venue. The food is very good, the service is formal but friendly - but the setting is absolutely incredible! You're eating in a medieval hall, with views out across endless olive groves. I can't help wondering how many people have dined here, in this very room, in the past 1000-1500 years! What plots hatched? What allegiances formed?
Come desert, my son likes to let everyone else order then he says to the waiter, "Surprise me." and that's when the waiter remembers him from a year ago (and the year before). What turns up is always well received, not least because it's usually some kind of fruit on fire :-)

Stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The castle is really cool, the food in the restaurant is fantastic, but can't say enough good things about the service and all the people that work in this Pousada. We've traveled all over and stayed in all types of hotels, this one is by far the best one. Can't beat the quality of the people and the views of the castle along with the history that it has. Highly recommended!

Beautiful little hotel just inside the castle walls so that you dont have to walk too far with luggage. Room furnished in typical old Portuguese style with shuttered windows that look out over a beautiful view. Nice breakfast and great overall experience! Very clean.

A pousada fica no Castelo de Óbidos, lugar muito pitoresco e histórico, vale muito a pena conhecer e respirar história!

Pousada em um castelo, dentro da muralha, melhor localização para curtir a noite de Óbidos. Tem estacionamento, e um execente café da manhã, padrão de atendimento go grupo Pestana.

ランチでレストランを利用したが、窓際の席から城壁の景色が見られてよかった。味が上品め。
ただ、窓際の席のイスは斜めっててややイマイチ。

Chambre 5 , fenetre denant vers la rue principal avec vue des murailles. Personel fin et courtois. Chambres propres et bien décoré. Le déjeuné compris avec la chambre est bien. La seul bé mol cest les éboueurs qui font leur travail la nuit et les livreurs tres tot le matin qui travail avec leur radio et fenetre dauto ouverte...il faut dire que la nuit cest le silence plat labas. Ooooobrigado a Obidos

Interior del Castillo usado como Pousada (Parador de Turismo). Si no estás hospedado tienes la opción del bar y restaurante para disfrutar del interior si no te importa pagar "algo" más

This castle hotel is wonderful and in the most romantic and beautiful location. I arrived mid January, so not in the tourist season at all, in fact I seem to be the only person staying here. Everyone is helpful and work hard to please. The included breakfast is huge and they even made an egg just right for me along with the huge selection available on the table It is not easy to get to, however. I arrived by train and didn't have the foresight to call them for a taxi so I walked uphill from the train station, a doable thing if you are in decent shape. The train station was closed and no taxi or bus stops near...just a warning. I am so happy I went to the trouble to spend a night is this historical medieval castle

4月で綺麗な花…美味し料理…城壁からの眺めも最高でした。
また行きたいです

we were unaware of exactly how difficult it would be to get to the hotel ,it was not suitable for some one with a walking disability I think that it should be made known it its advertisement but having said that perhaps most people know that Obidos is a cobbled small town full of tourists.No where to park a car.The hotel was fine and the receptions were kind.

Even though Obidos is a charming and beautiful city, this hotel is NOT worth it.
When we arrived, the receptionist tired to sell us another room...when we went to OUR room, it was not inside the castle and it had a twin bed and he insisted we should have ADVISED we wanted a double bed...he finally tried to solve it putting double bed sheet after a long time on the phone with his manager.
We finally stayed in ANOTHER room that was small, not charming at all and smelled bad.
We saw the 400€ tower room and that's the creepiest thing I've ever seen.
Stay somewhere else and enjoy the cute Obidos.
