Stayed here randomly. Quite hards to find. On the top of a cliff. Friendly staff, but wear flip flops on the sand as there are really really sharp thorns everywhere. Tents are basic but clean. Beach bar is amazing. Great traveller atmosphere

06/14/2020

Ótimo lugar para uns dias de férias.

06/14/2020

10/14/2019

Praia espetacular. Lindo pôr do sol. Para repetir.

10/14/2019

Our experience at Dreamsea had ups and downs - mostly downs.
On the plus side, the staff in the Glamping Place. Helpful and friendly plus a nice tent.
On the down side; we booked 5 lessons of surfing and got only one proper. We missed 3,5 days of surf lesson and got no equivalent compensation.
The nightly activities go on until 11:30pm and can be very noisy. If you want to have a good night sleep and get up relatively early in the morning is very hard whilst having a very noisy evening until 11.30. Therefore, the noise level made our stay less relaxing.
After a couple of days in the camp my partner and I (plus two other guest in the glamping plus) discovered a strange feeling in the oral cavity/mouth. It turns out to be an inflammation in the mouth and we now have to take antibiotics to get rid of it (this is the first time we encounter this). This is not something you would like to have due to a holiday.
Now we are back home disappointed to be home and feeling less relaxed (due to lack of surfing, hygiene and sleep) than before leaving for our vacation.

This was one of the worse experiences I ever had. The advertising is misleading and shows something exciting and glamorous with nice and clean people , exciting beach nearby , lots of surf and other sports like tenis .. the reality is a dirty place , far away from the beach , where you MUST wash your own dishes in a dirty whole , nest to a disrty kitchen with no concern for any rules of higiene.
..they make you pay for surf lessons but in the middle of the wek the staff , " volunteers..." go on holidays , then the eesea is rough... then you almost dont get any lessons , besidees "theory" by the restaurant...
a complete rip off .
Then WC NOT AVAILABLE in the camp!! you must walk 300 meters and plus 300 meters back to find one...
Tenis not available ...paddle belongs to parque da galé .
Food : breakfast is OK , lunch basically is not available , but noone would have the guts to go back to camp at lunch time , up the hill 500 meters to go for lunch... and most of the times the activities schedules colide with food schedules.
You must pay for all your drinks ... not expensive , but not clearly explained when you buy your holliday.
The staff ( mostly volunteers as they inform you) is not very professional , but they are fast linning up for food and they are champion smokers filling a lot of improvised ashtrays with butts all over the place.
I dont believe that they will be operating too long since most of the operation is illegal , but I will not take the risk to spend time in such a miserable place,

Gutes frisches Brot, wesentlich besser als Lidl DE.

We had the most amazing time at Dreamsea Surf Camp with the Dreamsea family. Food was awesome and plenty, and the vibes were just awesome. There were fun events for people to enjoy and get to know each all day (and night) long! More than just value for money holidays! Would definitely recommend!!

Unas playas diferentes. Y paradisiacas..

Best company ever! Incredible atmosphere, people from a lot of countries, amazing vibes. I am in love with Dreamsea surf camps!!!

I spent there a week, and it seems like it was 24 hours. The place itself it´s beautiful with a superb design, beds were comfortable enough and sleep in the nature is always a great feeling.
The beach is amazing, beautiful and clean and just a walk down from the camp (going up it´s a little harder) but it takes no more than 3 minutes from the camp.
Food was delicious, the surfing lessons great and the staf very friendly, I just regret to haven´t stay longer.

Spent a week at Dreamsea Portugal at the end of May 2017 - arrived with very high expectations, mainly due to their superb marketing and beautiful website, but left somewhat disappointed.
First, the camping site was, in my opinion, unprepared to receive customers. For example, our tent had no electricity of which we informed the staff and they promised to fix it, however, power was not working even on our third day and they simply explained they were trying their best but nothing was done until we complained and were moved to a different tent. Their website states they offer fun activities - which were planned but in reality very poorly prepared and chaotic. I felt that overall there was bad communication among the staff members.
Although the camp manager did listen to our complaints and tried her best to improve the conditions and provide a nice experience (which we very much appreciated and appreciate), I personally think this situation should not happen and such problems should be fixed before arrival of paying customers, who expect a certain level of quality. It seemed to us that the crew has not even made a "trial run" and test all of the tents to see if they were properly set up.
Second, smoking, noise and mess. According to their own rules, there was no smoking in the dining area and no noise after 11pm - both of which were broken - not by customer but by crew members. We were also told to clean our own dishes, which is fine, but some of the staff also did not do so and there were often dirty dishes left in the common area. We brought this to the attention of the camp manager and the situation has gotten better. However, there really was too much smoking and noise in the whole camp and nowhere to relax - tents were too hot and relaxation area, consisting of two hammocks at the time of our arrival, simply is not sufficient. Unless you have a glamp deluxe, which is significantly more expensive, there really is nowhere to find some peace in quiet.
Third, the camp was overbooked and overcrowded. As I understand, a group arriving in the middle of a week is not the standard, but it did happen and it really did make a huge difference. At one point, there was not enough surfing equipment, mess everywhere and forget about trying to relax.
On the positive side, people there were very nice and friendly, meals prepared by the chef were healthy and tasty and we were very satisfied with our surfing instructors.
Personally, I would recommend the Basic surfing course, as the conditions allow for only a few hours of surfing per day (solely during low tide) and it was indeed physically demanding for me. I also think that if you really want to learn basic surfing, one week is not sufficient.
Overall, I felt as if I was paying for all the crew's vacation - they surf alongside you, eat with you and enjoy the activities in some cases more than the customers themselves - in exchange for few hours of work a day. For some of them it really was a "party-every-day" kinda thing and some were serving breakfast clearly hungover. I have nothing against this approach, but I simply do not appreciate spending more than €300/week and being charged for beer when I see the crew getting it for free.
In the end, I recommend this place - but go as a crew member, spend your whole summer there, have tons of fun and learn to surf. In essence, you will get the same experience as if you were a customer, but you will save a lot of money and possibly even get paid.
Final observation:
Lisbon transfer: €70 both ways
Lisbon trip: €25 both ways
- why is the transfer so much more expensive?
