We were very disappointed with the service and the quality of food. The breaded squid tasted like it came frozen from a box. This was our 3rd restaurant experience in Salema. It was the most expensive but the other restaurants were better experiences and more tasty dishes. We don't understand why this place was so busy and why it has been rated so high.

I am a frequent visitor to Lourenços where excellent dining and service are the norm. I enjoyed a delicious sole followed by a scrumptious apple and sweet potato crumble topped with vanilla ice cream- delicious! To anyone visiting Salema, i'd say do not pass this restaurant by!!

Really nice and small local restaurant with fresh fish. We both had the dish of the day with either grilled swordfish or mackerels. The fish was really fresh, well prepared and tasty. The service is great too. We’ll be back for sure.

This is an incredible discovery. Well worth a detour on the way to Sagres. It is the little family run restaurant you hope to find. He catch of the day was presented to the table for our selection. We ate snapper and sea bass cooked superbly and presented simple on a platter with chick peas, potatoes and vegetables. Incredible experience. I wish I could be there right now!

If you like fish this is the place for you. They have a really good extensive menu from catch of the day to Cuttlefish battered strips, Octopus, Snapper, Golden Bream etc. There is an outside eating area situated across the road which is cosy but a little dark. It is not the cheapest place around but if you want fresh fish it's the best in the area by a mile. Waiter is accomodating and will explain your options pretty well.

Essen ist ok, wir hatten den Oktopus-Salat (Vorspeisen-Größe) und gegrilltes Schweinefilet, aber die Wartezeiten gehen gar nicht. Wir mussten sowohl auf die Getränke, das Essen, als auch die Rechnung ewig warten. Wir hatten vor, nur einen kleinen mittagssnack zu uns nehmen, daraus wurden insgesamt fast 2 1/2 Stunden. Der Preis für die beiden Gerichte + 0,5 l vinho verde und zwei Stücke halbgefrorenen Kuchen war in Ordnung.

Superbly fresh fish available from this restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful, they came over soon after we sat down to show us today’s fish specials which were all laid out on a large board from which you could choose any. A real hidden gem and great value for what you eat! Highly recommended.

Zum Frühstücken hatte er noch nicht geöffnet. Jedoch sind wir aufgrund einer Empfehlung vom örtlichem Fahrradverleih Musette-bike zum Abendessen hingegangen. Super leckerer Tages-Fisch. Sehf nettes Personal. Wir hatten Glück, dass eben ein Tisch frei wurde .... geht eigentlich nur mit Reservierung ... absolut empfehlenswert.

We tried a couple of restaurants in Salema before finding this wonderful restaurant. The food is excellent and fantastic value for money and all the staff are helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit but must book to avoid disappointment

On a très bien mangé. Le poisson étais très bon, le service impeccable et le personnel accueillant et sympa. Décor simple et typique portugais mais le restaurant et assez petit. On étais un peu coincé et même les serveurs avait du mal pour se bougé. Il fallait traversé la rue pour servir les gents de l'autre côté d'une terrasse. Pas idéal pour les enfants. Mais en général on étais satisfait.

Für mich das beste Fischrestaurant in dem ich je gewesen bin.
Hier kann normal von der Karte bestellt werden, was mir aber wesentlich besser gefallen hat ist das der Kellner die tagesfrischen Fische auf einer Platte den Gästen präsentiert und zumindest unsere Auswahl dann vorzüglich hergerichtet wurde.
Definitiv einen Besuch wert!

Muy buen restaurante, hemos ido un sábado a comer, sin reserva, nos dijeron que igual teníamos que esperar un poco pero al final fuimos para las 14h y no tuvimos que esperar. Muy buenos pescados, las gambas al piripiri super buenas. Son precios muy razonables para la calidad que es. Hay pescado del día, y otros que no y son más baratos. También hay carnes. Recomendable %!

Uno de los restaurantes más auténticos y con más encanto de Salema. A pesar de llegar bastante tarde a cenar, sobre las 22h, no nos pusieron problema: es uno de los locales que más tarde cierra la cocina, lo cual es un punto a favor. Puedes elegir si prefieres cenar dentro o en una acogedora terraza. Antes de pedir la cena, el camarero nos enseñó en una bandeja los pescados del día. Tomamos sopa de pescado, de buen sabor. Cómo platos principales salmón a la brasa y solomillo de cerdo, en ambos casos, tanto la carne como el pescado, estaban en su punto. Bien cocinados y servidos con una guarnición generosa: el solomillo con ensalada, patatas y huevo y el salmón con verdura cocida (coliflor, zanahoria y patatas). La carta de postres es bastante amplia y son caseros en su mayoría: tarta de almendras, de higo, etc. Muy típicas de la zona. Nosotros pedimos directamente el café y el total junto con la bebida (dos cervezas grandes) fue de 30'40€. En mi opinión, una buena relación calidad/precio teniendo en cuenta la materia prima y la situación (es más económico que otros restaurantes de la zona, sirviendo igual o mejor). Si visitas Salema, un local a tener en mente sin duda.

Péssimo atendimento demoraram 20 minutos para registrar o nosso pedido. Chegámos às 20h20 e só às 21h15 é que serviram os primeiros pratos... pedi para levarem para dentro, para não arrefecer, o prato do meu marido que entretanto tinha ido ao multibanco e em vez disso, serviram o prato dele na mesa ao lado e depois tivemos de esperar mais meia hora pelo prato dele!!! Apesar de termos feito reserva pelo telefone, não nos avisaram que não tinham multibanco e toda a vila estava com o mesmo problema... tivemos de ir levantar a um local a mais de 10 minutos de carro... Se estivéssemos sem carro, ia ser complicado!!!

Placé en retrait dans une rue étroite, la salle de taille modeste est très bien agencée et tenue. Le serveur et la serveuse sont polyglottes anglais et très attentifs et réactifs. En ce soir de fin février, remplie au 2/3 de clients anglais ou allemand (sauf moi). Les produits dans l'assiette étaient très frais. Soupe maison gourmande. Et pièce de thon très bien cuite avec légumes, un délice. Avec vin et café pour moins de 25€.

Restaurante familiar onde a chefe , a dona Aldina é também a matriarca da família que prepara todos os pratos
Na sala a servir está sempre o patriarca, Fernando Lourenço e o filho mais novo João Lourenço sempre prontos a mostrar uma enorme travessa com todo o tipo de peixe fresco disponível do dia
Para além do peixe há também pratos de carne e marisco disponíveis
Todos os dias há também o prato do dia disponível a hora do almoço

Sitzen noch hier an unserem letzten Abend in Salema und genießen den Nachtisch, expresso und mousse chocolate. Wir finden es ist das beste Restaurant hier und wir haben in den 2 Wochen alle Restaurants getestet.
+Die Dorade war sehr lecker und gut gewürzt die Beilagen passen auch. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zurückhaltend.
- Preise sind hoch.
Nur zu empfehlen wer regionalen Fisch essen möchte und eine gute Bedienung.

We had dinner here last night and the fresh fish was superb as were the vegetables and extras, a 5 star. My wife had breaded and fried calamari/squid and it was a 2 star, frozen and not fresh so that hampered our experience at this restaurant. They would be better served to take it off the menu and keep what they do well...fresh fish.

We’ve been driving through Portugal for over a week and stopped in Salema by chance - I’m so happy we did because this has been our favorite restaurant so far!! Very friendly staff, fresh fish and everything is so tasty. The percebes were great. We also had the Fish Cataplana which was so good.

Tastiest food I have tried in a long time, very cute and cozy place. If you have at least a little patience the wait for a table is well worth it. The restaurant seems to be extremely popular, and with reason, but is also not equipped with a lot of tables (you have an inside and outside) so waiting even when you have a reservation is normal. I strongly recommend!!!

Leider das bisher schlechteste Fischrestaurant auf unserer Portugal-Tour. Wir haben uns vom "Ansturm" und der Reservierungspflicht täuschen lassen. Der gegrillte Fisch war einfach schlecht zubereitet. Service war zwar freundlich, es gab aber lange Wartezeiten (zB 15 Minuten+ auf die Rechnung gewartet).

El mejor restaurante que hemos probado en el Algarve. Buen pescado fresco, el camarero viene con una bandeja y te enseña la captura del día. Buenisima relación calidad precio, en comparación a otras zonas costeras barato. El servicio no es el más rápido pero son muy amables.
Imprescindible reservar porque sino lo más probable es que no haya mesa. Para repetir, si volvemos al Algarve, volveremos a cenar aquí. Seguid así

I came back for the squid lourenço. I could look past the service and the lack of complaints during high season. For context, service the day before during lunch was sub par. I went again at 6pm earlier today and service as much better. I’m assuming it’s because they’re not inundated with families. I ordered the squid lourenço and tomato salad, two glasses of vinho verde and the passion fruit cheesecake. I love this place. It’s delicious, it’s simple. I cannot stop dreaming about the squid. Go, live your best life and enjoy fresh seafood- no frills. I love when the waiter/ waitress brings out the 100lb tray of fresh seafood. If they sold t-shirts, I would buy them.

Lourenco ist nicht nur das beste Fischlokal in Salema, sondern vermutlich der ganzen Algarve. Es mag schickere Restaurants und solche mit mehr Ambiente geben. Aber in punkto Qualität und Frische ist und bleibt Lourenco seit vielen Jahren unschlagbar.

We had a reservation but when we arrived we still had to wait 30 minutes together with other 15 people who apparently also had reservations. And then 30 more minutes to get the food. The food was not impressive for the price we paid. Squids were not cleaned.

Good fish restaurant. I think you get the best from this kind of place when you have a large fish and share. They bring round a platter with the catch, and say how much each one is and for how many people. Once you've chosen, you have your starter while they cook the fish. It's served with a standard set of potatoes and vegetables, which seems to work well. Had grilled turbot between four of us - great !

Nous sommes alles dejeuner dans Ce restaurant référencé dans le guide du routard. Le repas n est pas à la hauteur de l addition..Un crabe à 40 euros sans légumes avec juste 2 rondelles de tomate me semble être un tarif prohibitif.

Un buen restaurante para ir a comer pescados o mariscos. Nosotros probamos las alejas y el buey de mar. Los otros platos se vean apetitosos también. Es pequeño así que es recomendable reservar con tiempo. Tiene una pequeña terraza enfrente que está muy bien sobretodo en las noches más frescas de verano.

Nicely cooked, homemade, fresh fish. However the portions were small for the price, hence making it a little bit expensive. We were offered a red snapper for 2 ppl, 20€ each, and being honest it was for 1.5 ppl if not for 1. Other items on the menu were OK. It's not what you expect from a 65 eur ticket in Portugal without wine.

Had late reservations, but wanted to eat earlier so we showed up around 7:30 PM and they were able to seat the two of us. Service was good and friendly. The waiter recommended the John Dory fresh fish and it was super tasty. House wine carafes were very reasonable and good too. Despite being really busy, we were checked on multiple times, but not in a hurry up kind of way. Would definitely recommend and go back again. Note, it was cash only.

Muy buena comida y el servicio muy rapido. El trato del personal inmejorable y todo a un precio muy razonable. Lugar muy recomendable.

Very nice small outside area, perfect for a summer day. The food was very good: we ordered the two dishes of the day, steak and pasta with shrimp and both were very well cooked and in a big quantity.
The octopus salad for starter, on the other hand, wasn't good, it lacked of flavor and seasoning.

Disappointing. We were told it was the best restaurant in town. The octopus starter was the least tender we've had in Portugal. Ordered a whole fish for the main. It was over cooked as were the accompanying vegetables.

Calidad muy buena,tranquilo y lo mejor,adaptado a un horario mas amplio q el resto de sitios. Recomendable corvina. Te muestran el pescado fresco del.dia y eliges. Un acierto

Just been here (3 adults, 2 children ) had a red snapper, stone bass and a sole between us. It was superb, all fresh and cooked perfectly. 5 very happy people, we will return.

Dit lokale restaurant overtrof onze verwachtingen. De zoon van de eigenaar gaat dagelijks uit vissen en uw dagmenu kan u daar zelf uit kiezen. Met mijn schoonzus en dochter had ik een fantasch tarbot uitgekozen en heb die weggesmuld met gepofte aardappels en heerlijke groenten. De rekening was zo bescheiden dat we een dikke fooi hebben achtergelaten :) Absolute aanrader.

Muy buena comida PERO reserva NO respetada, espera muy larga. Buena calidad precio pero sin prisa.
