*Come here on an empty stomach!* Very good authentic Indian cuisine, catered specifically for my dietary needs (nut allergy). Great service, the waiter was incredibly polite. Would definitely come back here again. A MUST VISIT!

This restaurant was conveniently located right next to our hotel so we decided to give it a shot one day. It definitely exceeded all of our expectations! We came back every day for lunch. The food is so flavorful with generous portions of everything. Vegetarian options are fantastic and my boyfriend was a huge fan of everything he tried, and he didn't even like Indian food before coming here. The service is exceptional- everyone is so incredibly kind and polite. We both love this restaurant and can't recommend it enough.

Ottimo!!! Se amate la cucina etnica piuttosto che tentare la sorte in uno dei tanti locali del lungomare dalla discutibile cucina, consiglio questo ristorante in cui i giovani proprietari, originari del Punjab, propongo un ottimo menù di piatti indiani di buona qualità e a prezzi molto vantaggiosi. Sicuramente una delle migliori esperienze culinarie che è possibile fare a Quarteira.

Very nice food the staff are welcoming and have catered for the needs of my family very well as I have a son who does not eat chilli food but was provided same food dishes not spicy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Well done to the excellent team.

Just had the most amazing Chilli Chicken here at the Shalimar and the wife said that her Chicken Tikka Masala (Spicy) was the best she's ever had. You gotta try this place.

Fuimos a cenar a ultima hora y a pesar de ello nos atendieron muy bien, por lo que hemos vuelto. Tienen mucha variedad de platos y la carta en varios idiomas. El personal es muy amable y atento y la comida muy rica, nos ayudaron a elegir y nos preguntaron en varias ocasiones si todo estaba a nuestro gusto. No entendemos porque estaba vacio las veces que hemos ido, por lo que aunque no haya nadie comiendo os animanos a probarlo.

We had a great dinner in shalimar yesterday. I visit shalimar very often and I find that the shalimar restaurant is shifted to the new location and it's better then old one. The food is delicious and The Staff is so friendly. I highly recommended this restaurant,

Have just been for a meal here and it was simply superb.
Had the chicken tikka starter followed by the chicken schaslik (chicken kebab on a stick)
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent price.
If you are stuck in an all inclusive hotel eating bland food, go eat here.
You will NOT be disappointed.
Thank you to the staff for a fantastic meal and first class service.

Restaurante con más de 10 opciones veganas, explicadas correctamente por el camarero. Me pedí arroz biryani de verduras con poco picante, pero me costo comermelo. Al final mezclándolo con un poco de arroz blanco estaba menos picante y estaba rico. La presentacion de los platos estaba bien. Los precios un poco caros, especialmente en el pollo.

Caro para la cantidad de los platos. Es mi primera vez en un restaurante indio y me da que será la última. Los platos como es lógico vienen especiados hasta las trancas. Pero son 4/5 trocitos de pollo y poco más. Como vayas con hambre o seas un poco tragón... mal asunto. El personal amable y servicial. El aceite lo tienen rancio de no usarlo. No me gustó.

Fuimos a cenar con idea de comer algo ligero pues teníamos poca hambre. Nos costó entendernos con los camareros que apenas hablaban inglés y nada de español. En todo momento nos presionaron para que pidiéramos más y más platos. Sentí que me trataban como al típico extranjero al que sacar la pasta. Por otro lado pedimos que uno de los platos sólo fuese un poquito picante. Resultó incomible, no quiero imaginarme como estaría sino lo llegamos a pedir así. No comimos bien y no nos sentimos bien atendidos.

Nous avons commandé à emporter.
En général, ce que nous avons mangé n'était pas mauvais, mais ce n'est pas de la cuisine indienne très fine. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de goût. Pas d'épices, pas trop de saveurs.
Les cheese Nan n'ont pas le goût du fromage. Ils n'en mettent pas assez ou mauvaise qualité.
Les serveurs sont sympas.

Péssimo. Caril de camarão com camarão congelado?? Na Quarteira? Pratos mal servidos e apresentação 0 para o preço que apresentam. Claramente o o pior Indiano onde jantamos. A não repetir.

fabulous restaurant with nice staff. We didn't have the apetite for seafood anymore during our stay and went there for something else. That is in all way one of the best experiences of our journey to Quarteira. Give it a try!

We were here on vacation and were so happy to see an Indian place. It turned out to be so yummy! A refreshing break from seafood. I get Indian food a lot in America, and the taste and portions were comparable. I had a delicious chicken dish filled with fragrant onions and spices. The restaurant recently moved locations, so it is NOT closed. In my opinion, this is a better location, as it has great ocean views from the back seating.

Excellent cook verry delicious. If you are used to eat Indian this is al good place. If you like Indian. thé cook is from thé South, thé best you ever can get. Soon moving to another place closeby.

Zu den Preisen:
Wer gerne viel Geld für wenig Essbares ausgibt ist hier genau richtig. Die Grüße aus der Küche, sowie Beilagen werden separat berechnet und ragen im Preisleistungsverhältnis zu den eigentlichen Hauptspeißen dann doch negativ hervor.
Zum Essen:
Frisch ist anders. Naanbrote werden in der Mikrowelle erwärmt. Die Soßen scheinen auch nicht frisch zu sein. Gerade dort macht die eigentlich gute, kurze Zeit zwischen der Bestellung und dem Servieren der Speise stutzig. In 10 Minuten macht man nicht mal eben 4 Soßen. Geschmacklich dennoch recht solide.
Zum Service :
Das Personal lockt einen schon von der Promenade, ist aber ansonsten recht freundlich. Essen und Trinken kommen schnell. Definitiv ein Pluspunkt, dann aber doch der einzige.
Die Plätze sind sehr dreckig. Tischdecken aus Papier und diese auch noch fleckig.
Eine Toilette sucht man vergebens, die nächste öffentliche findet man circa 1,5 km weit entfernt.
Alles in allem sollte man auf der Suche nach einem guten Essen einen Bogen um das besagte Restaurant machen. Wir fühlten uns nach dem Besuch schlichtweg über den Tisch gezogen. Besser meiden.

The best Indian restaurant on the Algarve coast! The vegetarian dishes are brilliant and exellent. And the people working there are so beautiful.
Strongly recommended. Look forward to visit Shalimar in April 2018.

Contrary to other reviews, the food arrived in a timely fashion. However that could be because I ordered take out - So one star for that. Sadly the food was not good at all! Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like Butter Chicken, not what was expected and Lamb Madras was very bland with extremely tough meat. Pilaf Rice was by far the nicest part of the meal so another star for that but I would have much preferred the rest of the meal to be spot on. Will not be returning here unfortunately!!

Really bad experience!!! Service took forever at every stage to getting a very simple and average Indian meal. Garlic bread was stressful. They forgot our order...They took all orders from the other tables first...when we asked for our food after a long and patient wait they pretended that all dinner was ready. We will never go back to this restaurant...Then they intended to make a discount on the total bill for the wait that was ridiculous!!! $ 1.5 €

The best Indian restaurant I have ever experienced. The food was delicious and staff was very friendly and knew etiquette. If you are nearby you should definetely try this. I am sure I will return.

Service took forever at every stage: from bringing the menus and taking our orders to getting the mains (it actually took more than one hour between us finishing the starters to getting the mains!). We ended up being there for 2.5 hours to get a very simple meal. The lamb curry was bland and watery, the chicken jalfrezi had much more flavor and saved the meal. Don't plan on coming back.

Absolutely amazing food and service. Genuinely lovely people who want you to have the best eating experience food and service wise whilst you're staying in the area. The staff member who was outside the restaurant kindly explained what the restaurant offers, the lunch menu and what items are halal etc. He personally took us to the place to begin serving us. We ordered the chicken dopiaz and i kid you not it is seriously some of the best Indian dishes I've ever had. Such amazing flavour and I'm Asian myself so i know what good Indian food is meant to taste like, and this hits all the criterias. What a way for me to start my holiday in algarve, amazing food, amazing customer service. Couldn't ask for anything more. Definitely visiting this place again

Vriendelijke bediening. We hadden met z'n tweeën een mix grill met rijst en brood. Alles prima. Als je van veranderingen houd zeker eens doen!
