It is a typical portuguese restaurant in the middle of the ancient town of Quarteira. It is quite difficult to reach without a neverlost. Once you get there, you take a seat and menu is very simple....we ate a soup, bread butter and olives, a main fish course with mixed salad and chips, fruit, red wine and water for 36 euros 3 persons

Love this place, couldn't have landed in a better restaurant. 5* for everything. The food is 2nd to none, the service is brilliant. A pure Portuguese experience and only a short walk from the prom. Plus they are so accommodating with a baby. Just excellent.

Writing this whilst still at the table so its fresh in my mind. Absolutely amazing, within minutes of sitting down we were served with bread, olives and a lovely vegetable soup.
For the main the wife's sea bass was huge and cooked spot on, my pork was 2 big pork chops, and I mean big, so soft they almost melted. Both with chips and a salad. I'm convinced the desserts is gonna be good based on this. The staff are great. Friendly, welcoming and love a slap on the back. Would we come again? You bet, definitely recommend it.

Muito bom. Rapid service. Friendly waiters. We had a lovely lunch, one of my favorite Portuguese dishes, pork and beans. I'm so pleased we had quick service because I was on my lunch break and only had an hour. My dad even got to flex his french as well as Portuguese.

Fuimos a cenar después de ver las opiniones, las cuales son mayoritariamente positivas. Fueron muy rápidos y atentos en atender, pero esperando que llegara la sopa, uno de los platos que incluye el menú (ensalada, sopa, plato principal, bebida, postre y café), nos pusieron el plato principal directamente, al preguntarles, nos dijeron que no quedaba ya, así que sin muchas explicaciones nos quedamos sin esa parte del menú. Cuando llegó la cuenta pensamos que el precio sería menos, pero no. Independientemente de eso los platos están bien, pero tampoco es una gran cocina.

Local authentic restaurant, no fuss. Had a nice dinner, drinking and desert included for only 12 euro. The waiters seen a little bit rushed, but this is just part of their culture. And least but not last, if you receive a hand slap on the back, don't panic, enjoy ;)

Fantastic staff who make you feel incredibly welcome. We got the salad/main/dessert option for 12 euro which was great value for money. Food was of good quality although the dessert options were rather limited. At the price though you can't really complain. Take cash as they don't accept card.

Menú por 12€ que incluye sopa, aceitunas, ensalada, bebida, un plato principal, postre y café. Sin sorpresas. Servicio rapidísimo. Como anécdota, pedimos comer en la calle y como no había sitio, inprovisaron poniendo una mesa en la calzada ocupando el sitio de un aparcamiento vacío.
La dorada y los jureles que pedimos estaban estupendos. El postre era casero. Muy recomendable.

A fantastic restaurant. Many of the restaurants in the area either serve the standard English holiday food or local food but in a tourist fashion. Piri Piri does non of this. We visited three times, it was that good. There probably is a menu but don't bother. The waiters will ask what type of meat/fish you want or offer the dish of the day. Let them guide you. Food is great, dish of the day will be traditional and the price is good

Really good simple food at a really good price and friendly, relaxed staff (who spoke English). We had olives and bread, two mains, two deserts a bottle of house red, bottled water and two coffees for €25! And they threw in a few shots of some mystery liqueur (which was very nice). A definite must if you're in the area.

Si vous cherchez un restaurant typique, fuyez ! Endroit trés bruyant dont le service est mauvais, les serveurs se crient dessus, "s'engueulent" devant le client. Multiples erreurs, produits indisponibles et changés sans notre avis, je n'ai jamais vu ça, manque total de professionnalisme... mauvais rapport qualité/prix, pas de CB possible.

Wenn ich könnte, würde ich 10 Sterne geben. Eines der besten Restaurants die ich kenne. Man fühlt sich direkt wie zuhause, wird herzlich empfangen, und das essen ist super lecker, und der Preis ist mehr als super. Ich würde sogar nur zum Essen dahin fliegen. Ich kann diesen Laden jeden nur empfehlen, der gerade egal wo in Portugal sich befindet. Ich liebe es und werde definitiv noch sehr oft in Piri Piri essen.

Ein autenthisch familiengeführtes Lokal. Die beste Champignonsoße die ich in meinem Leben gegessen habe. Wir zahlen 12 Euro für ein ganzes Menü, Suppe, Salat, Hauptgericht, Brot mit Butter, Dessert und Getränke. Die Männer sind immer in Bewegung und kümmern sich non stop um ihre Gäste. Wir kommen in jedem Urlaub mindestens zwei Mal zum Essen. Genial und die Kinder sind begeistert.

We were recommended this restaurant by our airport taxi driver when enquiring about a cultural portugese restaurant experience and this place did not disappoint. We knew we were in a for a treat when we arrived and there appeared to be many locals dining. We were greeted by the owner who was slightly mad, but in a good way with a dry sense of humour which made for a great atmosphere as he got off by people laughing at his humour and having a great time.
We all opted for the peppercorn chicken dish and the meal portions were huge.The meals came with a drink and was followed by a dessert.
Excellent value for money and you must visit this place if staying in Vilamoura or Quarteria.

Why can I not give 6 stars? Like, oh my god it was great. First the staff. Dear God was it entertaining. We came in around 9pm and it was loud, partially because of the customers but mainly the staff. Every 30 seconds something happens. Either a waiter strikes the table with a wine bottle or slaps a customers arm or grabs 2 heads and asks how the meal is or absolutely anything else that can catch your attention and keep you entertained. Second, the food. The order was taken immediately. We weren't handed a menu, which I found odd. The waiter simply gave us what's good today and we selected from that. What we ordered came to us really quick and was absolutely delicious. The prices were incredibly. 60 euro for 5 main courses 2 beers 2 pepsis and 2 glasses of sangria. Sorry that I couldn't take any photos but I was too distracted by the menu being slammed shut in front of a customers face. It was all so comedic and entertaining that we didn't even consider the costs. I actually forgot that we took desserts. It is absolutely haywire but in all the right ways. I don't know what it looks like with babies, but I don't think coming in with a baby is a good idea because of the noise. Without babies however, don't think twice. You're thoroughly going to enjoy the next hour and half that feels like 30 mins. Real portuguese experience
Forgot to add. They don't accept card but when we said we don't have enough cash we were told to sit, order and eat, we can pay later. Once we ate I left with my dad to get to the atm my mom and 2 brothers were kindly entertained. Very trusting, friendly, funny and kind staff.

Super ! Un seul tarif pour tout le monde 12€ entrée/ plat/ dessert/ boissons. La carte dépend des produits du jour je pense car le serveur nous a dressé une liste de 5/6 plats parmi lesquels choisir (viande ou poisson)
Les assiettes sont vraiment copieuses et les desserts sont faits maison. Le rapport qualité/prix est pour le coup imbattable.
Pour l’ambiance un seul mot : familial, c’est vraiment comme de manger en famille à la maison le dimanche. Si vous passez par Quarteira je vous conseille de vous arrêter pour y manger.

Menu à 12 € par personne : entrée, plat, dessert, boisson et digestif... tarif enfant et adulte identique. Bon rapport qualité/prix. Restaurant situé dans le vieux Quarteira avec autour de nombreuses maisons traditionnelles d'algarve. A recommander. Accueil chaleureux et n'hésitez pas à vous y arrêter pour vous restaurer.

Super moment dans ce restaurant de quartier fréquenté par des habitués. Serveur ou patron extraordinairement gentil, avec un français impeccable. Menu et plats simples, copieux, on s'en voulait de ne pas terminer notre plat, c'était frais et bon, salade de fruits à tomber. Le tout dans un cadre authentique, comme à la maison presque. Un tarif plus qu' abordable , 10€ / personne environ. On a adoré, la simplicité du lieu. Super ambiance sans "chichi", 1ère immersion au Portugal côté "locaux" c'était top !

My second day in the country as a non Portuguese speaker, Augustino and his wife treated me like part of the family. This is an authentic experience, untouched by tourists. Two entrees, four drinks, starters and deserts for less than 15 Euros... This is a must try for locals and tourists alike. An experince I will remember for years to come.. EAT HERE.

Arrived late and asked if it was possible to have lunch. A waiter (he says he's been there for 30 years) says not at this time, it's too late. I kindly ask if there is a place I could lunch Portuguese food this late and he, in a very rude manner says to go to McDonald's.
If this is the service they offer when tending tables too I'd rather go to McDonald's than here.
Also the Google says it opens since 10 to 00 which obviously isn't the case.

Très bonne adresse. Personnel très sympa et accueillant. On y mange très bien. Attention portions généreuses.

Não é armadilha para turista! Restaurante autêntico, aparentemente de família, atendimento de tasco típico português, comida boa e barata. Um dia que volte às Quarteira será o primeiro restaurante onde iremos.

Cheap and very cheerful. Don't go for fine dining. Do go for paper tablecloths, generous portions, atmosphere and cheap set menu. Bread, olives, water, copious house wine, beer, soup, salad, main course, dessert, coffee and local liqueur - all for €25 total for two.

Great wee eatery. After looking at reviews, thought that'll do me. Right enough, went to the toilet when I went in, came back out and the wife had started her soup. Olives, bread, salads were already served. Soup delish. Mains were served immediately after we finnished our soup. Had a bottle of beer, glass of wine. Asked for the bill, 24 euro was the immediate reply. A must visit place. Superb.

Great place but be prepared to be slapped on the back until your spine or shoulder makes a sound that is up to the waiters standards, this may involve a few attempts.

A bit weird place. The food is awesome, cheap but the waiter keep touching your shoulders and check you every minute, though it looks like he is trying to be hostile. Also he let us get money from a cash machine without any worries. Strongly recommend but be prepared to Portuguese hospitality :)

One of those genuine restaurantes. The food is great, cheap, the staff is unique (you will see why). Totally recommend! A true Portuguese restaurant.

May 2017.. Never experienced anything like it. (In a good way) was attended to immediately even though there were a crowd of people waiting outside. We were served immediately (as there were only 2 of us) the menu is set with a starter of soup, 3 mains to choose from and 3 dessert. Our starter was on the table within 30secs of being seated, our main was on the table before we ended our soup, we had Portuguese steak, delicious. €12 for 3 courses great price. Didn't charge us for the drinks we ordered and received a complementary Port which must have been 3 measures. The waiters are constantly moving tables around to fit people in. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere. Hard to find but only €5 from Quarteira Bus Terminal. A visit to this Traditional Portuguese Restaurant is a must if you are staying in Quarteira.

Very, very nice people, continuously asking if we wanted anything else to eat (but not doing it in an annoying way). We ordered two dishes and they came as huuuuge dishes, together with starters (yummy bread and butter) and soup (we weren't expecting those!). Also they "fed" us at least 3 beers (again, we kept saying no, as we didn't have too much money on us, and were afraid we couldn't afford all these food and drinks). In the end, we had to pay just for those two dishes (summing up to € 24). Since we initially only planned to get one dish and one salad, we didn't have enough money, but these people were so incredibly nice and relaxed and chiiiilllll about it that they simply let us walk home and grab the rest of the cash. When we got back to pay, they offered us wine and we politely refused, but still ended up with a free bottle of wine to take home haha!! Such amazing service! Left a nice tip for these awesome people!
Oh and. We made a furry friend during our dinner, which we treated with a bit of beef and a bit if chicken. Look at the pics below.

Salade, pain, olives , bouteille d'eau , bouteille de vin blanc , assiette de poisson et assiette d'escalope de poulet excellentes, avec un petit dessert pour 24 euro !!! Et un très bon service.
