Phone number advertised on visitalgarve.pt for this tourist office doesn't work. Webpage just in Portuguese, English version doesn't work. Tourism office works hard to push away of these annoying tourists! ;-)

We kregen hier beetje uitleg over Faro. De info was nogal kort en een beetje met tegenzin gegeven. Welkom voelden wij ons hier niet wat je toch mag verwachten van een toeristen bureau.

Very unfriendly and unhelpful. The two ladies were talking to each other and were super annoyed when I approached the desk to ask some questions. When I asked which day tours could be done and that we were planning to rent a car for a day she said that there’s no point - why would we do that as the tours are better and less expensive. This is absolute nonsense if you compare car rental prices and tour prices (the tour was 70€ per person!! For 6 hours). I think it’s better to close this office rather than having one with staff who are rude, unhelpful and not interested in doing their job. Gives a bad impression of a lovely town and region.

Very useful place to catch free wifi, get Faro info and hear live Fado guitar teacher sessions at 12, 15 and 17.30 for 5 Euros pp. Jose will also do short guitar session with visitor knowing to play. Ticket includes little history exibition, roof top view of old town roof tops. NO RESTROOMS

Utile pour avoir une carte gratuite de la ville. La dame de l'accueil parle très bien français mais est assez désagréable. Elle ne donne que très peu d'informations et ne cherche pas à renseigner les touristes. Dommage pour une ville qui en vaut la peine.

Worst Information I ever entered. The guy just told me don't expect so much of this area...i mean what the f....?

Worst tourist information ever. We asked about what to do in Ria Formosa and he didn't know nothing. He told us "you should not expect so much, these are just islands" ! When I asked about the birds we can see : " I am not an ornithologist". I can't believe it ! We went there for nothing.

We visited for the Portuguese guitar recital.. Great experience well worth a visit it says 30 minutes but it is slightly longer around 40mins and after the show you can chat to the performer and take a few pics from the vantage point or the roof terrace

Told me there are no more rooms in Faro, only dorms for 70 euros per night-and if I like to book that. I said no and searched on my own. Several phonecalls later I had a private room for 50 euro per night which was perfect downtown. So the information was not only misleading and wrong, it was also a sign of laziness in customer service. Next day I went there again to ask if they could help me print my boarding pass, but they refused. So therefore, the use of this tourist information could be replaced by a machine with automatical answers.

Awful service, unhelpful and do not provide the correct information. When asked if there is a place to change money in Faro, I was told simply no. The hotel Faro(around the corner), politely directed me to the Caixa Geral de Depositos....problem solved! Don't waste your time here
